The message I heard about salvation in Christ from the preachers when I was young did not make sense. No one explained what it was that had to occur for one to be saved. I was told that it was a matter of prayer and the prayers of others and the laying on of hands and coming down upon ones knees at the church altar. Well, prayer does lead eventually to salvation since it leads to one believing more and more. One has to believe in order to pray.

The scriptures tell us that prayer saves the sick and other things, but it tells us that there is something other than a prayer that saves us. Prayer is foremost for those who are saved and who believe. What the scriptures tell us is; that whoever calls upon the name of Yawah will be saved. And since Christ came to us in that name, having the name of the Father as His, and the Jews thought it blaspheme He be named Yawah, when you call upon the Father's name it is also the name of the Son. Now some called Him Yeshua and Yashua. The early English Bibles called Him Iosus, in Spanish He is Hasues and in King James English He is Jesus. And so He is called by many different names according to the languages of the nations and not all use the name Jesus. Jesus only dates back to the times of the Tyndale Translation. So Jesus is not at all a very old name. YHWH or Yawah, or Yahweh is His name and He is the Everlasting Mighty One Most High. We are His creation.

How then are we saved by calling upon His name? To hence call upon Him is done so by belief in Him. And it is written that, without faith (belief in Him) it is impossible to please Him for we must come before Him believing that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So believing in Him, which is to say, having faith in Him; is what begins to please Him. So faith in Him is what saves us. When we come to believe then we obtain His salvation as it is written: "Whosoever believes in me shall not perish but have ever lasting life." It is also written that we are saved by His grace (His love) through our faith in Him, and we are not saved of ourselves, it is not by way of works but by, the way of our faith which is to say, our believing in Him, and our believing in Him obtains us eternal salvation. And so, this is a promise of His, a word of the Great King on how it is done. And it is not by way of a feeling though feelings will some day come to you once you have believed awhile, it is not a feeling or special sort of mystical substance but it is by way of His words on the matter, that say we are saved by merely believing in Him. And so, do you believe in Him? Maybe you already believe? If so, just understand what He said about you believing in Him. He said that if you do, then you have everlasting life. If you believe then you already have the promise, you already have the life and so ponder that!

If you read in the Gospel of John and note all the verses where Christ tells us about believing in Him and hear those verses in your hearts then you will open up to the light of His truth about our faith in Him. Then go on and read the Book of Acts and again follow all the scriptures that talk about faith and believing. Those are the key words. And so, if you continue on to read in the other New Testament books you continue to find that we are saved by faith in Him and not by a prayer on our knees at some altar or by laying on of hands. Laying on of hands is for those who have faith already and for the sick and infirm. Yet, the power of prayer and laying on of hands can lead to you believing since you are coming into contact with the workings of the Holy Spirit. What is up here is this, unless you know what constitutes your salvation you never will attain it and keep it. Attain knowledge of faith and the study of it by reading the Gospel of John. And if you already believe in Him then He promised you that if you believe, then that is your key to eternal life.

Just understand that it is a promise of He who can tell no lies and continue to believe His promise and not how you might come to feel tomorrow for you may wake up tomorrow and not feel good. How you feel has nothing to do with you being saved. The devil may say to you tomorrow, "See, you don't feel like you are saved, so how can you be saved? It wasn't real!" Just say "You old devil, it is not about a feeling but a promise. And, I believe, even if I don't feel good. So get lost!"

Now once you come to understand how you are saved by faith in Christ, and His promise that it is so by you merely believing in Him. Once it all sinks in real good and you are firmly grounded in the reality of how it is His promise and He can tell no lie and can not hence go back on His word. Then the feelings come. Life comes into you. And then later on you might just feel mediocre again but this time, you know it all has nothing to do with how one feels and so you are over the battle. One day when we are very old we will not be feeling as good as we use to. So then, it is important to know that it never was about feelings.

If you find that you already believe in Christ then you do well to continue to believe and to read His words to see how many times He promised salvation and healing and the workings of miricles merely by believing in Him. Go and count His words. Add the sum of them up, and memorize them so you can withstand the attacks of the devil. Go now in peace, and the knowledge now of your eternal salvation, promised to whomsoever will believe in Him. Which is not by any other way, other than by believing His words where, He promised it to whomsoever will believe. So it is to whoever believes. His salvation is freely given to all who believe.
