His job may be done, but someone will take his place....this should be interesting to watch!
Post number 1......Mentioned something about a possible candidate if Solona steps down........One being from Austria......it's sorta interesting because about 25 years ago I heard an end time minister say that he suspected the ac would come from Austria....Just thought it was an interesting note to bring up...............................Solana Rumor Persists......................By Herb Peters;
The EUobserver is once again reporting that Javier Solana may be considering an early exist from the world stage Read about it here. And, I still find it hard to believe. As I said before, I suspect the reasons behind these rumors may be political. But, if I'm wrong -- if Solana does step down, how will it change my views? I though this would be a good question to answer.
When I saw the EUobserver's list of possible replacements for Solana I had to chuckle. I could almost see the EU beast's terror at the thought. If these are its choices, the poor thing's future looks bleak. No, there must be someone else. But, who?
Some may find my beast analogy strange. I have found, however, that sometimes it's the best way to explain the geo-political realities. After all, if that's the way God did it in His prophetic Scriptures, there must be a good reason. And, this brings us back to our question: If Solana steps down, how will my views change? The answer is -- because my views are based first and foremost on Scripture -- they won't.
You see, God still appeared to Moses in a burning bush. The reason Moses noticed the bush wasn't so much because it was on fire, it was because it wasn't being consumed. The bush represented Israel and the fire represented God's anger. At the time, the children of Israel were being oppressed by the first head of the dragon -- Egypt (Is. 51:9-10). In Revelation we learn that, in all, the dragon will have seven-heads. Many -- including myself -- believe these heads to be Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome and the revived, 10-horned Rome (Rev. 12:3, 13:1).
In Daniel we learn out of the last beast kingdom 10 horns will rise and, from these 10 horns, a little horn -- different from the others -- will appear (Daniel 7:7-8). This little horn -- who we believe to be the coming antichrist -- will subdue three of the first horns, go into the new Jewish Temple and claim to be equal to God (2 Thess. 2:4).
This event, unfortunately for the little horn, brings us back to Moses' burning bush. I already told you that the bush represented Israel and the fire God's anger. What I didn't mention was the most important part -- why the bush was burning but not being consumed. What God was saying is, although Israel may experience God's anger at times, God will never allow Israel to be consumed (Mal. 3:6). In other words, God was going to use Israel to reveal His power to the world.
No, the way I see it, the personalities don't matter. First and foremost my eyes are on the prophecies -- the hard, geo-political realities. If Solana steps down, someone will take his place.
The Bible says so.

Solana Rumor 2
Sure enough, according to this report Read about it here, the EU heads just held an informal summit where Javier Solana's second term as Secretary General of the Council was to be discussed. As you may know, this is what I was expecting. You see, the the EUobserver has been reporting rumors that Solana's may be retiring. And, the last time there were these rumors, the EU heads were also about to meet to discuss Solana's future.
Of course, that doesn't mean the rumors aren't true. But, it does make them less believable. And, according to the same report, the current EU Presidency was planning on accepting an Irish proposal that Solana get a second term. The report says:
Vanhanen said that he knows who Ireland will propose for the post. He would not say who the person is, but Helsingin Sanomat has information that Ireland’s proposal will be a second term for the present Secretary-General, Javier Solana.
The most interesting part of the report was the EU heads were also to be discussing the EU's stalled constitution. As I read this I recalled seeing a clip in my Watchman Speaks presentation where Vanhanen said the EU couldn't afford to wait for the EU's constitution and Foreign Minister. And, I remember another clip that may explain why. I have posted the slides below.
.
You see, it looks like the talks never even got around to Solana. The EU heads had something more important on the table -- their supply of energy Read about it here. And, if that's the case, we can see why having their new Foreign Minister would be very important to them too. Energy is the game and the Middle East the prize.
And, Solana may retire.
