Statue Of Liberation Unveiled At Memphis Church

July 5, 2006 05:08 AM PDT

Memphis- Drivers cruising through the intersection of Kirby and Winchester can't help but notice the 72 foot tall statue. And that's exactly what church leaders at World Overcomers Outreach Ministries in Hickory Hill want to happen.

"I want them to think about their relationship with the Lord," said Apostle Alton Williams.

The statue is drapped in the traditional Statue of Liberty robe. But there is nothing traditional about the tablet in the statue's left hand stapled with a Bible verse. The space left will soon be filled with numerals representing the ten commandments. The torch is replaced with a huge cross. On the crown, the word "Jehovah."

Church leaders call it the "Statue of Liberation."

"It is intended to combine Christianity with patriotism, which is the love of the country," said Apostle Williams.

Many of those who suffered through the hot temperatures to witness history are hoping the statue will change recent history in Memphis.

"This is unity here today. If we had more of this maybe we would be able to conquer crime," said Karen Humphreys.

Of course, there are some who feel the church is overstepping its boundaries in a big way, mixing religion with a government symbol. Others say they feel the statue forces religion on them and some say it's just simply too big.

"All we want to do is call attention to the fact that America belongs to God, and America needs to come back to him," said Apostle Williams.

"It is intended to combine Christianity with patriotism, which is the love of the country," said Apostle Williams.

No man can serve two masters.
We cannot stand in two kingdoms at the same time.
Patriotism does not mix with Christianity.
Come out of the world, you are not of the world. The reason why you are in Island , or the US or me in SA, is that , that is where God has placed you , so you can do , whatever it is that He wants you to do.Not so you can be part of a country, because you do not belong to yourselves, you were bought at a price. You belong to Him now.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY

The Statue of Liberty in New York harbour was presented in 1884 as a gift from the French Grand Orient Temple Masons to the Masons of America in celebration of the centenary of the first Masonic Republic.

She is holding the Masonic "Torch of Enlightenment". Also referred to back in the 1700's by the Illuminati Masons as the "Flaming Torch of Reason". The Torch represents the "Sun" in the sky.

The Statue of Liberty's official title is, "Liberty Enlightening the World".

The cornerstone of the statue records how it was laid in a Masonic ceremony (see plaque photo above).

THE TORCH SYMBOL

Illuminati means to "bare light" one way to symbolize this is by carrying a torch. A torch sits on top of the Statue of Liberty, on top of JFK's grave, and on top of the tunnel where Princess Diana was killed.

Best selling author, Robert Bauval:

"The cornerstone for the Statue of Liberty was placed in a solemn ceremony in 1884 organised by the Masonic lodges of New York.

The Statue of Liberty, which was designed by the French sculptor Bartholdi and actually built by the French Engineer, Gustave Eiffel (both well-known Freemasons), was not originally a ‘Statue of Liberty’ at all, but first planned by Bartholdi for the opening of the Suez Canal in Egypt in 1867.

Bartholdi, like many French Freemasons of his time, was deeply steeped in ‘Egyptian’ rituals, and it has often been said that he conceived the original statue as an effigy of the goddess Isis, and only later converted it to a ‘Statue of Liberty’ for New York harbour when it was rejected for the Suez Canal."

The goddess Isis is known by many names, including Juno.

To place a cross into the hands of a goddess , I don't think so.

Red Skelton on the Pledge of Allegiance...

http://www.davidstuff.com/usa/pledge-red.htm

For those that think that GOD was not an important part of the forming of the USA, look no further than our Preables, and Declaration of Independence. Look also at the heart of those that have served HIM in creating a free democracy. Our National Anthem praises the LORD in singing HIS praises with the words "In GOD we trust"; which also is written upon all our currency. The Pledge of Allegiance gives the LORD true homage for which this country was created "under" HIM.

Yes, the United States was built on Religious Freedoms and also on the belief that GOD exists. It makes perfect sense for the Statue of Liberation to be placed in the Bible belt of this country...Holding a cross which is a light to all Christians and also holding the Ten Commandments...after all we are One Nation Under GOD.

It's like many things people see and how they see the same thing so differrently. When I look at the statue of liberty I don't think of it as the godess nike, but some do. When I see a cross on Mt. Soledad San Diego I don't think of a concrete and steel idol made by man, but some do. I once saw a beautiful painting depicting a person's heart on fire. I thought it was spiritual for the love of Christ, but a fellow "Christian" could only see the breast on the painting and he rebuked it in "Christ's name."

Don't let your feelings be swayed by fears and prejudice from people always hunting dragons, for when they hunt them long enough they become dragons themselves. Always trust in Christ, and take the innocence of a child within you.

To bear a yoke unwillingly is oppression to liberty, otherwise how can one be considered oppressed if he or she bears a yoke willingly? When the Hebrews in Egypt borne the weight of Pharoh did they sing in glee of cry in anguish? God' of course heard their cries for it was a mark of their oppression, their unwillingness to bear the burden Pharoh had placed upon them.

Sin does this to people for it is a burden that in unwillingly borne. Some, however, willingly bear the burden of sins. Can they then be considered oppressed? Can they then be considered without liberty?

Even the Hebrews after they left Egypt, led by God, began to complain and wished to go back thinking the burden of Pharoh's slavery was easier. Can one be considered a slave if one goes back to slavery willingly?

Everyone is a servant to something, be it to Christ or to the world, and they believe they choose to be a servant to that something. Then, with all this choosing liberty seems abundant. To willingly take the yoke Christ offers, or to willingly take the burden of sin, one is not a slave for they can choose; the believer and nonbeliever.

What then is the symbol of your liberty? The cross? A statue that holds up a torch? Then is your liberty like an idol, for it is chershed so much; to be empowered with making choices in which burden to choose?

Liberty is that what is shared with God's temple and idols
2 Chronicles 32:7
People. We've all been deceived at least once. Good bless you C, Gregg and BZ you are right on it. Freemasonry is not for God, is for their lesser god, the devil. And sadly this country has been deceived too. Some little pointers for you my friends in this forum:

1."The statue of liberty" you praise it so much, but you don not know is for their light bearer, jahbulon (their name for the devil), it's everywhere. Any similarity to the knights of Columbia from S&B, or the masons? Even in Columbia tri-star, crazy isn't it. They have built an empire in media.

2."The all seeing eye" we have it in our dollars, we can't buy and sell without it. Did you know the masons took power or the federal reserve almost 80 years ago and imposed their emblems on it. Say hi to the "owl" (molech) like the bohemian groove does. Say hi to the egyptian pyramid in the great seal (Frabcis Bacon) with the "all seing eye" of Lucifer, they just call it horus. Say hi to the 13 stars that for the star od david...oh but wait, have I mentioned it is not a jewish but a pagan-egyptian symbol? And say hi also to the 13 olive branches and olives (just like in the UN logo), the 13 arrows, fethers, and bars. and the 33 and 32 fethers in the eagle (for you that do not know, stands for the 32 and 33 highest degrees in masonry). And if you looke closely, the pyramid has 13 levels too. Each one representng a group, from the scottish rite, to the group odf the 300, the 33, the 13 and the "one". Hey but why one? and 13? Well 13 under the all seeing eye, 13 under the devil. And if you still don't believe, then read texts from Manley P. Hall (one of the most famous masons in history), Alister Crowley (brit-ish counter part, and occultist, it's even on a beetles cover? wait did he appear in the album with that song that says imagine no religion?), and the no less famous Albert Pike (father of the "great white brothercrap or hood" better known as kkk). They all freemasons, and they all said and stated to worship and work for the luciferian doctrine. People, not "america", GOD'S people, EVERYON IN THE WORLD AWAKE FOR OUR LORD JESUS!!! Let's not be deceived again. The eye, the famous mason symbol is everywhere, the pyramid: CBS, AOL. No wonder they rule the world. But in the words of Bebo Norman, i'd rather be cast away, separated from the human race, if I don't bring you glory (Jesus).

3. "1776-1777" A great moment for our country? No, for freemasonry, for they opened their first masonic lodge in that same year in the district of "columbia". Everything is not what it seems, but let go on and keep celebrating shall we?

You can choose now, do the research and see for yourself, while you do that look for the UN too and their Lucis trust (formerly known as Lucifer trust), and throw in names like Helena Blavatsky and Alice LaTrobe Bailey. So next time you go to the Capitol you can choose to say hi to Persefone, goodess of the dead, standing on top of it.

Love only in our father, my loved God of Israel, the Lord!!! Our Jesus. Amen!!! Chronicles...

Liberty is that what is shared with God's temple and idols

Everytime a believer in Christ professes their liberty to choose they raise an idol in their temple.

To show this is what is happening the Lord inspired Tig to post the picture, and it's pure genius, for it clearly shows the idol in many Christians today!

I will just say I never said the picture was a good thing, I only said "I wish I thought of it," for it conveys the message I was told to say, and the message is not from my own mouth but by yours as many condem this symbol of liberty as an idol! That's genius, that's God's genius. God plan is perfect, and he makes use of your own word to learn a deep lesson, here.

Well then next they need to show the cross and 10 commandments coming right out from her. Seperate. You cannot serve two masters.

God will not have anything to do with an idol.
The only thing good that can come from this is to show us that we
need to choose who we worship. Not mix, but come out and not be part of this
world.

Welcoming your thoughts.
