WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korea has launched a missile but it was not the intercontinental missile being monitored by the United States, CNN reported on Tuesday, quoting sources.

CNN said the missile, reported to have landed in the Sea of Japan, was smaller than North Korea's Taepodong-2 missile, which is believed to be capable of hitting some parts of Alaska.

The missile landed in the sea 600 km from the Japanese mainland, Japan's NHK television reported.

What's up with this? Smells funny....Russia and N. Korea planning something for the U.S?

Report: North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il in Russia
Thursday , June 22, 2006
SEOUL, South Korea — A leading South Korean newspaper reported Friday on the possibility North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has traveled to Russia via train, citing eyewitness reports.
The eyewitnesses told a person they had seen a VIP train, the form of transport preferred by Kim, crossing the border bound for Russia, the Chosun Ilbo daily reported.
The South Korean Foreign Ministry said it had no information and was checking into the report of a possible trip.
Kim shuns travel by air and has headed before to Russia via train, the last time in August 2002. The North Korean leader rarely leaves his home country, and was last abroad during a trip to China in January

What is so great kim going to russia even the iranin president went there.

What is so great about it is that Russia, China, N. Korea are apparently in collusion to attack the U.S. seperately they can do nothing, together they can do damage, they also have the support of Iran and pretty much any country who hates us, like Venezula and Cuba. This this N. Korea thing could be a distraction while someone else is sneaking behind the scenes...Russia has already been able to fly their planes past our radar undetected as well as fire missles that went undetected by the U.S...all have decided not to play the "dollar" game anymore....

PRECISELY

The big deal is that N. Korea pm hasn't met with Putin before that I know of...I have not researched it

It's the timing

Sounds like RUSSIA COULD be USING Korea......IF the US is "spent" military wise...in Iraq, possibly getting involved in a skirmish with SYRIA soon.....KOREA distracts,,,,WHO KNOWS, it's just TOO coincidental the visit with RUSSIA

I think the BEAR is hungry after being in hibernation so long.....

ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif . I wish india stop buying things from russia. I dont like them any more. No wonder why NORAD is active and every military personnel in USA is very very active in duty and the intelligence unit is working very hard.

sad.gif It is never too late, for all peoples and nations to get on their knees and pray...LOOK up for your redemption draws neigh.
I don't like to see anyone die because they have looked for the World to save them instead on the Reedeming spirit of our Precious Savior.
Can you imagine...all peoples now on their knees praying for A MIRACLE...to show those whom are unbeleivers in the MIGHTY POWER OF OUR LORD to show mercy to whom he will show mercy...for those who continue to hate for their own Power and their own Glory will come to ruins as a heap.
How can a world hate so much, when life is such a Miracle in itself..Pray all ye nations...for the Power and Glory of our LORD will come in ALL HIS GLORY.. wub.gif

Yes ,I believe that you are right to be suspiciuos about the timing factor......around the time that the Hamas were elected, The president of Iran flew to Moscow, Then he went to Damascus....Immediately afterward, the Hamas were invited to Moscow...afterward,the president of Iran stated that if the United States did not take care of the problem that they created 58 years ago, that Iran, and many of the islamic nations would take care of the problem for them soon...[ refering to Israel]....It seemed as if the president of Iran knew something secret.....Russia and China has refused to put sanctions on Irans uranium enrichment program, and now Russia and China refuse to put sanctions on North Korea....I suspect that the devising of the evil plan is now in progress..Ezekial 38;10...............................................benny

It is rather hypocritical to tell one nation they can't have a missile when we have 20 submarines prowling the Oceans each with 24 missiles that far outperforn what North Korea has. Not to mention our 350 + land based missiles, our long range Bombers, and other shorter range tactical missiles and out Tomahwks and ALCM's.
Instead of a rightous nation, we are appearing like elitists reserving judgement over who gets to join our excusive club.

Hypocritical or not.....it is all being done for your best interest......But in the meantime, Here is some more suspicious activity.........................
IRAN FINANCES N. KOREAN MISSILE PROGRAM

LONDON [MENL] -- Iran has been financing a North Korean program to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Western intelligence sources said Teheran has been financing Pyongyang's intermediate- and ICBM programs for nearly a decade. The sources said the funding was part of a deal in which North Korea would share missile technology and equipment with Iran.

"Anytime you hear of a North Korean success, translate that directly into an Iranian success," an intelligence source said. "You can be sure that within a few weeks, Iran will receive briefings, training and eventually production expertise from Pyongyang."

On Tuesday, North Korea was said to have fired six missiles. U.S. officials said Pyongyang launched the Taepo Dong-2, estimated to have a range of between 3,400 and 4,000 kilometers. They said the flight of the Taepo Dong-2 lasted 40 seconds and the missile fell in the Sea of Japan.

Not true. It is being done in the best interest of our own corrupt military industrial complex that needs a boogyman to justify continued defense spending. Having served for 13 years on submarines, I can tell you that the military is a real self serving institution. Worse, We really have no submarines left in the navy, we have only underwater nuclear reactor safety inspection platforms whose only real mission is to pass the next white glove inspection. I have served under CO's who proclaimed that going to war is violation of reactor safety regulations.
This is why I did not do 20. Sick and tired of living only to satand another inspection, I not only refused to re enlist but ripped my Dolphins off of my uniform and threw them on the Captians desk.

Inour own arrogance, we are assuming a staic model. That no alliances will be formed, no new technology and tactics will be developed to counter our apparent superiority. The Nazis made the same mistake. The harder we push, the more the rest of the world will push back. We are not the BATF of the world and we are in no position to "Brady Bill" the world.

Yeah, Bernie. Thanks to Mr. Dubya, we got it comming.

I think it's funny that noone thinks that it's possible to 'slip by' American intelligence. I'm making a thread just for this, because I have a bone to pick with those who think they already live in an untouchable utopia.

When I was pushing boots for the Navy, I learned that the best leadership is by example. If you yourself are fat and out of shape, you are hardly in any postion to make a recruit do push ups and arrogantly boast about how you intend to get him into shape.

If we intend to be any kind of leader, we need to adopt Teddy Roosevelts policy of a "Square Deal". Arrogantly dictating to other nations that they cannot develope missiles and Nuclear weapons when we ourselves have the largest, most sophisticated, and greatest numbers ourselves is arrogant. Further, to claim that only we can wield this power fairly is foolish. When the COld War ended, I wondered if we could wield this power we now have in an equitable manner. The answer is....NOPE! In order to do so, we would have to be above the inherant sinful nature of Man and the Word Of God clearly states "There are none rightious, not a one".

A better approach would have been to seek a treaty with Russia, China, Britian, and france to dismantle our nuclear Arsenals and then we would have a moral ground to stand on. Our current policy has us as the president of an excusive club who reserves the right to admit or deny entry to anybody we see fit.

You can probaly get this from CNN

I saw Ambassador to UN for Korea today, deliver response LIVE, to UNANIMOUS decision by UN.......Korea must do no more missile TESTS...

Korea,,,,,,,,,,,adamently rejected this, LIVE
