Mary can bring religions together says Muslim writer
An Egyptian Muslim and deputy director of a prominent Italian newspaper has suggested that Mary could be the figure to bring Christians and Muslims together.
Mr Magdi Allam of Il Corriere della Sera has launched an appeal in the pages of the national daily newspaper to Muslims in Italy to visit Marian shrines.
The journalist said that he is convinced that the Virgin Mary is a meeting point between Christians and Muslims.
"Mary is a figure present in the Koran, which dedicates an entire chapter to her and mentions her some thirty times. In Muslim countries there are Marian shrines that are the object of veneration and pilgrimage by Christian and Muslim faithful," he said.
"Therefore, I believe that if this happens in Muslim countries, why can't it happen in a Christian country, especially in this historical phase in which we need to define symbols, values and figures that unite religions, spiritualities and cultures?" he asked.
In Allam's opinion, "the Marian pilgrimage of Loreto - Italy's National Shrine - could represent a moment of meeting and spiritual gathering between Muslims and Catholics, around Mary, a religious figure that is venerated by both religions."

One thing you can say about Islam, it has upheld the Law baeeter than any other Faith. It Saudi Arabia, UAR, Kuwait, and the other Islamic Arab states crime is lower than any of us could ever dream of. Their AIDS crisis is limited to forign guest workers.
However, we all know that Law does not save. Law only convicts and condems.
If you take Mohammed Al Fossi as one of many examples, you see what happens when the restraint of Law is removed. Back in the 70's and early 80's, Arab oil Shieks built elaborate "Sin Cities" here in the USA where they could play out their passions outside the restraint of Islamic Law and then go back home and act Holy.
Sorry, But Mary, while a devout jewish Woman who was honored to be chosen was none the less just a woman. She does not save nor is she to have a place of honor beside Christ himself.

I don't think michael Jackson has a viable ministry. Real Phophets are not filthy rich. While I myself do not support the current war where we want o bomb every Muslim into submission to our opostasy, the truth is that there can bo no true union of Islam and the Gospel. Islam is a works through Law based religion. There is actually a phrase in the Koran which reads; "People of the Book! God is only one! heaven forbid that he should have a son! Repent of this evil or face eternal damnation!"

Now gregg, You said that it came from a college textbook. Enough said. Most colleges are liberal, hate Israel, and love so called Palestine (though there is not nor ever has been such a nation or people).
The author of the textbook is politically correct, though he is wrong. The claims of Muhammed being a prophet of God are patently false. Allah being The God of Israel is an absurd lie. He is a demon god. Mohammed was a false prophet. Allah hates the True and Living God and wishes to defeat him. Allah and Mohammed claim that God has no son. That is a blasphemous lie. There are over a billion muslims deceived by the false prophet Mohammed and the writings attributed to him. They stand in direct contradiction to the written word of the Living God (aka the bible).

Look gregg, I'm not mad at you or trying to insult you or anyone else that believes as you do. I am passionate and hate the lies that I've countered here. God too hates lies. I'm trying to undo some of the works of the father of lies, the deceiver who is still deceiving many with these lies that are being used to persecute and kill Jews and support their murderous enemies by portraying them as virtous freedom fighters. Not true. I have a copy of the Koran and nowhere in it does it call on anybody to kill Jews. It does however claim that Jews and Christians are brothers of believers albeit brothers gone astray. It also does not call for going fourth and killing infidels either. The Law of Jihad actually says "If an invader takes your land, pick up and move to where Gods firects you, only if he persues you are you allowed to kill him"
It doesn't take much for some radical to alter it to "Kill all infidels" anymore than we take our Scripture and re interpet it into "Smart bomb all Muslims" or "Grace = freedom to sin" or the flop & tritch rolling in the isles brank of revivals, and many other perversions of the Gospel.
Since Isreal was founded in a manner similar to what the PLO is doing, the Jews are not as innocent as we would like to think. The Zionists used the same tactics against the British that the Arabs are using against them.

Islam did bring the law to idol worshiping Arabs. I'll give it that credit. However, Law does not save. Law convicts, Law condems. One can admire ones faith in Bowing towards mecca five times a day, but all the bowing towards Mecca will not attone for ones sin. Islam is works oriented but in the eyes of a pure and Holy God, our GOOD works are as filthy rags. Tis is our GOOD works. Imagine how the Lord sees our bad ones! While Islam has upheld the Law better than just aboput any Christian Church or the Jews ever have, how much is that due to external restraint rather than a change of heart? Back in the 70's, many Arabs bought property here in the States and formed their own sin cities where they could act out their passions over here and go back to thier native countries and act all Holy again.

It is not for any of us to declare what governemnt, religion, or any other istitution should have or should not have come to be. Unity for the sake of unity is not Scriptural. To worship Mary simply because it might unite us with Islam and end violence is not Scriptural. A world united in peace and unity on human terms is a world allied in rebellion against God.

That islam thinks that anyone that isn’t maslim is a pagan,and should be killed and the first chapters in the Koran are mostly about how the jews and Christians are pagans, and that they will turn us in the spoils of war. There is a lot of time on this page telling people to get there info right on the Koran, wow, and I say its getting stinky in here…..

Somehow, I cannot join in on the current hyperbole against Islam. Yes, there are many who espouse this Jihad against non Muslims. About as many who claim to be Christian and espouse the notion "Be baptised or be smart bombed"
There are many threats out there, some Muslim fnantic kicking in my front door and forceing me to bow towards Meccas isn't one of them. If it does happen, I myself have a .45 caliber means of telling him "No thanks!" Other have thier own means while yet others will go to thier death willingly rather than renounce Christ and bow.
What is destined to happen will happen. No superpower with the greatese wonder weapons will be able to stop it. If this IS indeed the final hour, then it will happen as fortold. If it is not, then the pattern of history will repeat its self yet another cycle. Contray to popular belief, it does not have to be the final hour for America to be in trouble.
Its about time to realize that Islam takes on the trappings of all religions in order to seduce unsuspecting patrons...They have already tried the marriage of Judaism, and Islam. It is this connection of universal understanding, mercy, and faith

and the children...put things in order...apostolic and prophetic...
