Some years ago, our old dog died. I cried and cried. Then I prayed. I asked the Lord, "Do the souls of animals go on, too? Will I ever see my dog again?"

I opened the Bible and read, "The Lord takes care of all creatures, both great and small."

Remember that old Twilight Zone episode about the old country hillbilly who falls into the lake with his dog? After they climb out, the old man is invited to enter the pasture of heaven - but he has to leave the dog "out there." It is explained to him that dogs can't enter heaven. THe old man gets angry. He yells that he isn't going to get stuck in some heaven that won't allow dogs and have to stay there for all eternity and never see his dog again.
So he and the dog wander in limbo.

At the end you find out the "heaven" he was being invited into was really hell. Heaven is teeming with dogs - and every other kind of life as well.
