As if it's not bad enough that babies are aborted because a man or woman just doesn't want them because of invonvenience, now because of minor defects that can be treated before birth, and because the babies may not be perfect , it has led to a reason to abort them.


"The ethical storm over abortions has been renewed as it emerged that terminations are being carried out for minor, treatable birth defects.

Late terminations have been performed in recent years because the babies had club feet, official figures show.


Babies are being aborted with only minor defects.
Other babies were destroyed because they had webbed fingers or extra digits.
Such defects can often be corrected with a simple operation or physiotherapy.

The revelation sparked fears that abortion is increasingly being used to satisfy couples' desire for the 'perfect' baby.

A leading doctor said people were right to be 'totally shocked' that abortions were being carried out for such conditions.

Campaigners warned we are turning into a society that can no longer tolerate imperfection. Doctors were recently told they can now screen IVF embryos to try to weed out inherited cancers.

Ethical groups fear parents are opting for abortions because they are not told of the support and help available if they continued with the pregnancy.

Details of the terminations emerged as new figures revealed an alarming rise in the use of an abortion pill that has been linked to 10 deaths.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that between 1996 and 2004, 20 babies were aborted after 20 weeks because they had a club foot.

It is one of the most common birth defects in Britain, affecting one in 1,000 babies each year. That means around 600 to 700 babies are born annually in the UK with the problem, which causes the feet to point downwards and in severe cases can cause a limp.

However it can be corrected without surgery using splints, plaster casts and boots. Naomi Davis, a leading paediatrician at Manchester Children's Hospital who specialists in correcting club feet, said: 'I think it is reasonable to be totally shocked that abortion is being offered for this.

'It is entirely treatable. I can only think it is lack of information."

Babies Aborted For Minor Reasons

That is horrible. My foster sister was born with club foot, but it was corrected just as you stated. I would hate to think of her not here, because she was less than perfect physically. Sounds like Hitler's perfect race that was tried during WWII.

Remember that the enemy isn't going to sit back and cheer as you try to advance in the Lord. He will always bring hindrances in your way. He will always try to discourage you and to make you feel like you're not going to fulfill your destiny in Christ.

God has a plan to prosper you and to use you for His honor and glory. God has brought you thus far by faith. Don't give up now. You've come too far to give up now. In the midst of the fire, in the midst of the flames, remember that God is with you and He will bring you through.

In the process of natural birth, the pains are hardest just before the baby is delivered. A woman who's told to push cannot decide that she's going to do it next week. It could cost her her life and the life of her unborn child. You're about to give birth to the purpose of God for your life. If God is telling you to push and press on and you stop, you could kill your purpose. There's no time for abortions; it's time to give birth to miracles.

The darkest hour is just before dawn. All may have been dark for the past months, or years. At times you may have wept and cried to the Lord or wondered what God was doing or even where He was. But God has always been with you. He has never left you. In the midst of the dark hours God is pruning you and molding you and changing you into the image of His dear Son Jesus Christ. God has promised that He will never give us more than we're able to bear. There's a purpose for everything that you've gone through this year and all that you're going through right now. Even the seemingly bad is working together for your good.

Even though this year may have been very challenging, remember, God has not changed. He is still your refuge; He is still your strength; He is still your Rock and your Divine Deliverer. God is still able to bring it all to pass.

Lift up your head and be encouraged today. You may not be what you ought to be, but by the grace of God you can be all that God has called you to be.

The mountain of challenges will become a mole hill and God will change you through His Word and allow you to be more than a conqueror in every situation. Rejoice! The darkest hour is always just before dawn. Brighter and better days are ahead. Your next push could birth your miracle. Expect a new day to dawn in your life.

This is a disgrace. I happen to be hard of hearing myself...if I was concieved in today's day and had such dispicable parents like these folks, I possibly would not have had the "privalege" of being born. Smacks of nazi ideology if you ask me...if this is allowed to continue, I wonder if it would lead to execution of live people once they reach old age. I dearly hope I am wrong here. People in the world these days find anyone with a disability to be an inconvenience. An example is the fact that people are so often shipped into nursing homes when there are options available if people were willing to make sacrifices. Case in point...my father had terminal cancer and the hospice nurse encouraged my family to put him in the hospice facility for the remainder of his life. Instead, we kept him home and ran shifts caring for him around the clock so he could stay home and be treated like a human being. We all made sacrifices to be there for him, but because we loved hiim very much, it was of no burden to us.

I attribute this uncaring mentality of so many peole nowadays to lack of real love. My father taught me about real love and so did other real christian folks. In fact, it was love that played a major role in my conversion to christianity-- all the words in the world may have not done much good if it were not for the love and patience shown to me along with it. REAL christians are NOTHING like the hypocrites out there. A real christian would NEVER resort to this discpicable treatment of the unborn and disabled.
I happen to know a girl I work with that had a child out of wedlock, but she did not abort the child. Her strong belief enabled her to not only birth the child but also marry the guy she was with. On top of that, her faith enabled her to make the marriage WORK. I told her that I greatly respected her for that.
