QUOTE(Cornelius @ May 19 2006, 02:30 PM)
Why would the enemy come up with these movies that "obviously confirm" the evil and how it will be. He is the father of lies and thus is not prone to the truth.
Could it be that in this he is pulling our eyes away from that which is the real truth and focusing our eyes on that which is popular believe? That the antichrist is one man?
What if the truth is more scary, like in that ALL who will not follow Christ walks in the spirit of antichrist. Like a copycat of God, building the Body of Christ....satan has been building the body of antichrist.
Imagine a world that turns around and faces the true Christians. Lead by people yes, but the "body" is that of antichrist. Have you noticed how the little word "the" is missing in front of the word "antichrist" in the Bible? The same as its missing in front of the Body of Christ (it never says the Body of the Christ)
just a thought...............

Yes, Cornelius, that is very possible. Consider that true Christians are the temple of the Holy Spirit, which was not true of the Jews prior to Jesus. Now, Jews and Gentiles alike that come to Jesus in faith are part of his temple.
Many are so sure that a new temple will be built in Jerusalem, and then defiled by the antichrist. Frankly, any temple built in Jerusalem will still be a "synagogue of Satan" as mentioned in Rev. 2:9, and as such, is not "defileable." It stands defiled already because it blasphemes the sacrifice which was made by Christ on the cross. It will simply be a building. "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly...But he is a Jew which is one inwardly..." part of Rom 2:28-29.
If a building is actually constructed, it will only be a type-shadow of the spiritual temple defiled when persecution causes many "Christians" still living in Egypt in their hearts to fall away and setup a god of their own making in their hearts, a false Jesus, if you will, or antichrist. And yes, the tribulation likely has much more to do with purifying the church than punishing the lost.
We need to draw near to Christ and the truth of his word now more than ever, for only in the ark of Christ will we be safe.
May Christ be glorified now and forever.
In Him,
Mike
