Also of interest, FoxNews just reported that the UN Security Council is trying to come up with a resolution on Iran by tonight. Key word trying. Stay tuned!

Peres has some guts to come out and say this, because he knows he's going to get flack from the world, including our own state department as they have "Warned" Israel to tone it down in the past and look for a diplomatic solution regarding the palestinians

Olmhert seems very keen to give away land, so I don't know how this would sit with Peres.

Update: No dice. According to Reuter's "Five or six questions are still open before the draft resolution can be concluded." Ugh! The deadline was 12 days ago now, and, as far as I'm aware, they've done absolutely nothing.

Ya know I am so tired of the world gasping at what Israel says. "Oh don't say that, don't say this"

Let Israel do what Israel feels it needs to. Why is it that the rest of the world can threaten and we can laugh or threaten back, but when Israel says something to defend themselves and in truth, Peres said "Iran is not just a threat to Israel, but to the whole world",,,,,,

That is truth, because the Iranian leader is NOT rational.

This argument IS between Israel / Iran......("wipe each other out").......

My only fear is that Israel drags us into it BEFORE they actually do anything.

WHy are we (US) and the UK......the BABYSITTERS?????

VOA News Reports:

Rice: Western Powers to Wait Before Pressing UN on Iran

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday the United States will pause in its drive for U.N. Security Council action against Iran. The break would allow European negotiators to prepare new incentives aimed at persuading Iran to halt uranium enrichment.

U.S. officials had earlier spoken of the likelihood of getting a U.N. Security Council resolution as early as this week demanding that Iran halt enrichment and return to nuclear negotiations.

But with Russia and China resisting Security Council action, the Bush administration is giving its blessing to a new attempt by Britain, France and Germany to get Iran to change its nuclear course with a fresh package of incentives.

Secretary of State Rice, who discussed the Iranian issue with foreign ministers of major world powers in New York earlier this week, made the rounds of television network morning shows Wednesday to signal U.S. support for the new overture by the so-called EU-Three.

Rice insisted there would eventually be strong action against Iran in the Security Council, but she said on the ABC network's Good Morning America program the United States is willing to allow time for the European effort:

"We will continue to seek a Security Council resolution, but that we would wait for a couple of weeks while the Europeans design an offer to the Iranians that would make clear that they have a choice that would allow them to have a civil nuclear program, if that is indeed what they want," said Rice.

Iran, after more than two years of negotiations with the Europeans, last August formally turned down an offer of economic and other incentives for it to halt sensitive nuclear activities, and accept outside enrichment of fuel for its civil nuclear program.

The Bush administration had backed that offer with incentives of its own, including ending U.S. opposition to Iran's application for membership in the World Trade Organization.

The United States, which insists Iran has a covert nuclear weapons program, has been pressing for a binding Security Council resolution against Iran under Chapter Seven of the U.N. Charter.

But the effort was stalled this week by Russia and China, who say they fear such a resolution could be a prelude to sanctions and possible military action.

In her television appearances, Secretary Rice again said the letter to President Bush this week by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was not a serious attempt to address issues between Iran and the West.

The Bush administration and Rice in particular have come under criticism from Iranian officials and others for dismissing the letter, described by U.S. officials as a collection of musings and observations by the Iranian leader.

Rice told the NBC Today Show the letter had no useful ideas on the nuclear issue:

"That's not a serious diplomatic overture to say that by the way your liberal democratic system is cratering. It really was kind of a philosophical and indeed religious attack on U.S. policy," she said. "So there was nothing in it that suggested a way out of the nuclear stalemate."

Rice said that had the Ahmadinejad letter been a serious diplomatic overture, the U.S. response would have been quite different. But in her words, "we can't play a pretend game."

There is no doubt that our current government is moving to war. Just in the repetive Bushisms and statements made that were the same before the Iraq war can tell you that.

..And as far as EVER doing anything useful, the UN is a joke. Did anyone really think that these proposed "diplomatic resolutions" or a vote to put sanctions on Iran would really take place without another vote to vote on whether we should vote to put sanctions on Iran? People at the UN vote whether to go to the bathroom, how is this situation going to be any different?

Maybe they should send Angelina Jolie, one of their ambassadors over to Iran. That would solve everything.

As far as Israel goes, I believe we should support them always. Mainly from a biblical standpoint, but they have been our ally when the rest of the world has generally bailed on us.

...By the way, did Condoleeza Rice make those statements during or after her tennis match?

Or they could send Clay Aiken, who is actually a Christian! blush.gif (And a UNICEF ambassador--wonder if he knows who he's working for!)

The current poll on my website asks, "Will the U.N. come to an adequate solution concerning Iran's nuclear program?" The results? No - 46, Yes - 4.

I voted NO twice for emphasis. It's now 92% NO and 7% Yes. With 7% UN employees voting and 1% always undecided.

I agree. But Sometimes the U.S. acts like " hey wait a minute we didn't approve that speech,", and sometimes Israel says things that mean "HEY U.S. don't you think YOU should do something here?"

Israel will hit Iran in the next few months: Israeli official
By Khalid Hasan

WASHINGTON: Israel will strike Iran’s nuclear facilities in the next “month or two or three,” an Israeli official has been quoted here as saying.

Dont forget Ezekiel!

All I mean by that is that even if this isn't the Ezekiel events, then it is still going to happen anyhow, just a little bit later. When God says its going to happen, its going to happen.

I am gong to put this heere because I am running late for an event my children want to go to today...

My husband was watching the news yesterday and they had a special about the beliefs in the Koran. Now, I wan tto say first that I have not read it but I do not think they would put that on national news if there was an error....

It says that Iran is supposed to be the one that begins the Final Battle. That is said to be the reason for the buildup in arms. It also says that they are going to win. Seems this president of Iran thinks that he is the chosen one!

Not real big news because we all rather knew that in our heart of hearts, but it is news to me to finally hear them say it.

Is anybody else worried about September? I am. It's another anniversary of
9/11, and it's 3 1/2 years after the start of the Iraq war. If you believe (and some do) that the a/c started that war, you'd probably want to go after him before he became the beast. That probably doesn't make sense, but if the Iraqis and others in the area feel they've had 3 1/2 years of tribulation, then it would be time for wrath on us. Our Christian beliefs on the 7 year tribulation are not unknown in the world at large, and timing is important in those kinds of things, from what I've heard in the news. Anniversaries and important dates are often used for attacks. I think I'm babbling now, but it's been on my mind. I hope nothing happens, but I think we've dodged the bullet for a while.

I just remember how sick to my very soul I felt on September 11, and I also felt nauseated the day the war started in Afghanistan and also in Iraq. I knew there would be consequences here, along with the death of our soldiers and also civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq--I'm just surprised it's been this long and the consequences haven't happened yet.

I haven't read the Qu'ran either, but I really think I need to. I found an online copy a couple of days ago and bookmarked it and started reading it, but I didn't have any more than 5 minutes. I felt like I was reading something that must have been written 3 or 4 years ago at the absolute latest, if that makes any sense. I think I'm babbling, so I'll stop now. blush.gif

Wow! Yes I think if we can only look to all these other religions, it makes it obvious what God was talking about. I mean, c'mon with all the other major religions in the world believing that their new messiah is coming - even the jews - EXCEPT for us! So it is easy to see how a guy like the AC can have major following when he explains "cmon guys- I'm the one guy all you religions have been waiting for - Im the messiah, the new king of the earth " And they'll be like oooh he's the Krishna, Iman Mahdi, the Maitreya, the Messiah all in one it has to be him, he must be god to tie all that together, only the stupid christians were wrong and the rest of us were right all along - whew!" And since by then whats left of the church is bastardized and confused, it participates in creating the 1 world religion which gives credence to AC until he kills it after 3 1/2 years, and claims to be god himself. At least I think thats close to right. Anyhow we need more info from other prohecies to see how it stacks up; and of course every ounce of confirms and makes more paramount how correct and true the real God is about life, reality, and existence as a whole. Thanks a ton for the information, and God Bless!
