Iran President: Israel Is a 'Fake Regime' By NASSER KARIMI, Associated Press Writer

TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday renewed his criticism of Israel, calling it a "fake regime" that cannot continue to exist.

"Some 60 years have passed since the end of World War II. Why should the people of Germany and Palestine pay now for a war in which the current generation was not involved?" Ahmadinejad said at a news conference.

"We say that this fake regime (Israel) cannot not logically continue to live," he said.

The remarks by the hard-line leader came a day after interim Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert urged the international community to work against Iran's nuclear program, saying Tehran's ambitions threaten not only Israel but all of Western civilization.

Israel has long identified Iran as its biggest threat, and these concerns have grown amid repeated calls by Ahmadinejad for Israel's destruction.

"From the point of view of seriousness, this tops the state of Israel's list, it is potentially an existential threat," a government statement quoted Olmert telling the weekly Cabinet meeting.

"The Iranian nuclear program should concern many countries, especially those with global responsibility," Olmert said, adding that the international front against Iran should include the United States, Europe and other Western countries.

Also Monday, a top Iranian official said Tehran is prepared to freeze its uranium enrichment for a short time, but this should not be construed as a readiness to abandon it.

"Iran would not have a problem with a short-term suspension (of uranium enrichment). But the difficulty is that the West and the United States would use that as an excuse for extending" the suspension, said Hasan Rowhani, a member of the Supreme National Security Council.

Rowhani's statement was not immediately endorsed by other officials and it was unclear if he spoke for the government.

The comments came four days before Friday's expiration of a U.N. Security Council deadline for Iran to suspend its enrichment of uranium, a process that can produce fuel for nuclear reactors material for nuclear warheads.

"Their final aim is to prevent Iran from completing the enrichment technology," Rowhani said. "Our red line in Iran's nuclear case is that Iran's rights must be guaranteed and we must be able to enrich (uranium)."

The United States says Iran is using a civilian nuclear program as a cover for producing weapons. Iran denies that, saying its program is designed only to generate electrical power.

Earlier this month, Iran announced that for the first time it had enriched uranium with the use of 164 centrifuges, a step toward large-scale enrichment — which would be necessary to for making nuclear fuel or weapons.

First off, the word regime is typically only used to describe totalitarian, dictatorial governments. Israel in fact has a democratically elected representative government much like ours here in the US.

The irony in his statement is that Iran too claims to have an elected government by the people, so did Saddam Hussien. But both were elected only out of mortal fear and in fact are totalitarian dictators.

"I say that this fake regime (Iran) cannot logically continue to live"

BTW Rose, on the surface this would seem scary, and to unbelievers this would be more scary news to add to the list . But to us believers we knew it was coming. I find it extremely exciting to watch biblical prophecy unfold in the newspaper for our redemption draweth nigh.

This also means that even Iran's president will have come to his knee's and bow before Jesus and profess him King of Kings and Lord of Lord's.

Diverteach, thanks! Yes, I don't know why I said it was scary, I guess scary to think of WWIII coming, but I do know from whence my help comes... I am redeemed of the Lord and I know that HE LIVES! I appreciate your comments... thank you kindly!

I am glad you all are keeping an eye on these events. They are truly amazing.

I was reminded yesterday that the Mene Tekel Bible Code that the Lord showed me begins by addressing Babylon and then turns to Persia (Iran) and then at last to China --- thus moving in an eastward direction. Shortly after the Lord showed me this code the Twin Towers fell leading to the Iraq war. Iraq is ancient Babylon. So now the next major conflict appears to be Persia (Iran), and if this continues to happen then I would assume that after Iran will be China in some way.

I just thought I would add these few thoughts to this discussion!

I still hope to make a video of the Mene Tekel Bible Code , but all is a slow going. Your continued prayers in this regard are much appreciated.

There is nothing to say. Iam bored of his threat. I will do other things like having close relatinships with father. Atleast Father will be happy about it. Instead of thinking about this and worrying is only bringing burden on me and troubling me.

Point of no return:

State: 'Iranians have put both feet on the accelerator' - WORLD TRIBUNE.COM

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration, in what appeared to be a rebuff to the U.S. intelligence community, said Iran is approaching the point of no return in terms of its indigenous nuclear capability.

Officials said the State Department has determined that Iran has reached or was close to completing the nuclear fuel cycle. They said this meant that Iran could complete the process that begins with the extraction of uranium from ore, production of feeder gas and the enrichment of uranium to the level required for reactor fuel.

"We are very close to that point of no return," Undersecretary of State Robert Joseph said. "And I think that's a view that was shared — that is shared by many others."

Officials confirmed that Iran has succeeded in enriching uranium to a level of 3.5 percent through a cascade of 164 gas centrifuges. Iran has announced plans to assemble a 3,000-centrifuge cascade by early 2007, Middle East Newsline reported.

Joseph, responsible for arms control and international security at the State Department, told an April 21 briefing that the West would soon no longer have the ability to stop Iran's nuclear program. He endorsed Iran's claim of producing 110 tons of uranium hexafluoride, or UF-6, the feeder gas for enrichment in centrifuges.

"It's fair to say, I believe, that the Iranians have put both feet on the accelerator," Joseph said. "They're moving very quickly to establish new realities on the ground associated with their nuclear program."

Officials said Iran has been advancing rapidly toward its goal of industrial production of enriched uranium. They said this would eventually include weapons grade material.

"Iran has acquired the confidence and the capability of running centrifuges over a sustained period of time, allowing it to produce enriched uranium," Joseph said.

"Perhaps most disturbing, at least in my calculation, is the announcement that they are operating a centrifuge cascade consisting of 164 centrifuges," Joseph said. "Every nuclear physicist that I have talked to in the past has always suggested that 164 is a key number, because once you're able to operate, over a sustained period of time, 164 centrifuges in cascade and feed into that this material, this UF-6 that I talked about, you're well on your way to an industrial scale capability in terms of the production of enriched uranium."

Officials said Iran could produce enough fissile material to produces at least one nuclear warhead per year through a 3,000-centrifuge cascade. They cited a claim by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was developing the advanced P-2 centrifuge, said to be four times faster than the P-1.

"Now we have this extraordinary situation where for a couple of years the Iranians told the IAEA we're not engaged in P-2 centrifuge research and then the president of Iran last week said we are engaged in P-2 centrifuge research," Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns told the briefing.

The assessment by the administration of Iran's nuclear achievements contrasted with that of the U.S. intelligence community. On April 20, National Intelligence Director John Negroponte played down Iran's claim of uranium enrichment, saying Teheran would require several more years to produce a nuclear weapon.

Officials said Negroponte's statement reflected a dispute over the meaning of the "point of no return." They said some government analysts define this as the production of sufficient fissile material for a nuclear weapon, while others assert that Teheran must actually assemble a nuclear warhead.

"There is an earlier point of no return, and that is when Iran has acquired the confidence and the capability of running centrifuges over a sustained period of time, allowing it to produce enrichment uranium," Joseph said. "And again, the key point there has always in the past been the 164-cascade centrifuge."

Thanks for the post Miki....it sure is hotting up isnt it? Iran seems hell bent on a head to head confrontation with Israel and the West. mellow.gif
