A friend of mine just called me and gave me a link to what looks like a hurricane of all things over South Dakota. Whatever it is, this thing is HUGE and quite scary.

Talk about weird weather.

Here's the link....

Hurricane

On a side note, I don't generally feel strange when I see weather readouts, but this one just has me not feeling so well.

Very strange indeed Shaun. Wow, keep us posted!!!

I actually had some family die in this storm yesterday. A dad and two kids. The mom is alive but heard her family scream as they burned to death in a car crash. Please pray for them. I will post a prayer request on this issue.

I'm so sorry!!!! I certainly will be praying for the family. Yes, please do post in the prayer section. This weather is getting out of control!

It's really not all that uncommon and have seen this anomaly several times before. I won't deny that it does look alot like a tropical cyclone, a closer look shows it doesn't have the deep convection of one.

It's merely a very symetrical low pressure system.

I looked at winds speeds and barometric pressures around this system and couldn't find any winds over 20-25 mph with pressures nowhere near what a true cyclone would have.

I looked it up on the weather channel too and it showed more of a cloud covering than anything with some winds and rain... but nevertheless, obviously a deadly system since two people died in it. I will be praying it weakens and blows away!

Hopefully, it is just a low pressure system, but upon first glance, which is exactly what my friend had said, it is spinning like a hurricane would. It just has an odd look about it, and we know after the recent tornados, how fast a "system" can develop.

Praying against it is indeed the best thing as Rose suggested.

You just never know these days.

Ii guess it is another sign from Lord. Anything is possible.

It is indeed so sad, that life was lost in this storm...

The storm was the result of low pressure that created heavy snow in the west, and light rain in eastern part of the state... no hurricanes.
