Jewish Christian preacher Zola Levitt died today after battling cancer, according to his ministry website.

Levitt, known for the tagline, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," had a television program seen on the several Christian networks, "Zola Levitt Presents."

He died at home in Dallas, where he led the non-profit Zola Levitt Ministries, Inc.

Levitt was diagnosed with cancer Feb. 10, which had spread from his left lung to his liver and brain, according to his son, Mark Levitt, who posted updates on the ministry website.

Mark Levitt said in a recent post that that in response to the illness, his father was "doubling his efforts to produce extra TV programs and create more informative and outspoken newsletters than ever."

"What a soldier's testimonial – to stay at his post until called away by Yeshua! Happy is the man whose work is his play," Mark Levitt wrote.

Responding to today's news, a follower of Levitt's ministry wrote: "I praise the Lord for the life He granted to Zola; for Zola’s willingness to be used by God in great ways; for the thousands of lives he touched through his ministry and music; and for the grace and peace of knowing that Zola’s reward can be ours, too, someday."

We will miss Zola, but what a testimony has given to us. His earthly work is finished and the LORD has brought him home for the eternal rest!

God granted him a short time of illness, and in that time, Zola showed us the courage it takes to stand faithful in GOD'S WORK.

I am praising GOD right now for the love of GOD that is shining bright! Praying for the family. Zola has given so much of himself to the LORD. We can all carry testimony of faith and discipleship in our own ministry and remember the soldier of GOD that has led the way! wub.gif

Oh that just breaks my heart. What a great man of God!
He will be greatly missed by so many. But oh don't you
know the Heavens were rejoicing to receive him. I feel it
will not be long before we get to join him. Zola expressed that
he felt the rapture was at hand in his last article from his
newsletter.

Valere, I agree with you. Perhaps his departure is yet another sign that His coming is upon us.

What a great man of God and what a testimony. He will be missed!
His love abides
sad.gif He will definetly be missed. I remember when I first started to watch him in the early 80's i think it was. Such a wonderful person and truly serving the Lord until the end.

He will truly be missed. I believe he was a true believer that labored hard until the end.
The love of God was within him and it showed.

I just received email about his passing, and am quite saddened as well. A true and great warrior of G-d. If you go to his site, you can express sympathy for the family, or just offer a kind word. Praise G-d for calling Zola home, but this world loses much with the loss of Zola.

I loved the ministry of Zola Levitt. I went to Israel, the first time on the
ministry and the following of the Holy Spirit. I love this ministry and I have a
love for the people of the land, eretz israel. I returned home after my first visit
and I cried when boarding the plane to return...I had a little money left and I returned 4 months later to stay a month...I prayed all over the land, and desert
I was first , i mean first dipped in the Jordan. When I returned I laughed and
cried my way around the country. It takes maybe about 3 hours sideways,
and longways about 6. I rented a car and about the second time around I went
to En Gedi. I wanted to go on to the southern border of Egypt, but was led to
return to Jerusalem, endured a severe storm and dropped my car and came
home. I am not over it. Zola Levitt Ministries had so much to do with that
pilgrimage...back in the day of 33 records!. I am sorry that I gave all that away.
I would love to be lifted up by some of the songs and worship in those records
today, as I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I too feel heartbroken in that I would have loved to meet Brother Zola. I went to Texas, arriving at the broadcast
studio just after he had been there, and was blessed to meet Carlton Pearson
who had been the leader from my first trip to Israel. My third trip, that I was
promised is yet to materialize...a completed Jew will also go...this is my prayer
and promise...Thank you Yesua, for beloved friend and brother, Zola. Signet

When i first heard about his cancer, something made me cry for 30 minutes. I knew he was going to die. I love that man! I receive the Levitt Letter since december 2003 and love it.

When I heard he died, i was only half surprised, as if God had wanted to gently prepare me to his passing. I cried tuesday, but I told myself that the LORD would want me to be happy for Zola.

Question: Who will take over Zola Levitt Presents on tv now that Zola is gone??? ohmy.gif excl.gif sad.gif

Just forgot to add:
I have always wanted (and dreamed) to go with him to Israel (1-800 WONDERS) when I would have the money. Now he is gone, I have asked God to be sure to book me for Zola's first trip to Jerusalem, the Holy City in the Millennium!

A letter from Moishe Rosen to Zola was on the cover of his Levittt Letter for the month of May. I recevied it in the mail today...This was published before his passing. But I found something remarkable being said about our dear Brother Zola...

"It's strange, but I see you telling jokes to GOD, and someone says to the Almighty, 'You're omnisciesnt. You know the punchline already.' Then I can hear the LORD answering, 'Yes, but I like the way Zola tells it.'"

Zola had a wonderful sense of humor. This issue is full of letters supporting Zola in his last days on this earth. I sit hear reding them, and thinking, LORD, I am glad that your servant is resting now. He was loved by many, and how many more has HE brought to you...let me be a servant like Brother Zola! Bold for the LORD.

I believe the LORD takes pleasure in all HIS children! We as HIS Children are the "Forever Family"! Praise GOD! wub.gif

All love in Him!!!!

Zola Levitt's ministry won't end

The death of Jewish Christian preacher Zola Levitt Wednesday does not mean the end of the ministry he founded, according to his son Mark Levitt, the group's administrator.

Zola Levitt, known for the tagline, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," died at his Dallas home after a battle with cancer. His television program emphasizing the Jewish roots of Christianity, "Zola Levitt Presents," is seen on several Christian networks.

Mark Levitt told WorldNetDaily the non-profit group has many people in key positions who will continue the work.

"We're not interested in revolving the ministry around any particular individual except for Jesus," Levitt said.

But his father's presence will continue to loom large in the coming year. The television show, he pointed out, has about six months of new programming recorded by Zola Levitt, who worked at a furious pace after being diagnosed with cancer Feb. 10.

"The way that Zola was so productive reminds me of a wounded soldier who takes out more of the bad guys than ever before," Mark Levitt said. "When he finally had to give up his work, he went quickly."

Even after those programs are exhausted, future shows will include "some flashes" from the past, he said, with some of Zola's humorous or especially poignant moments.

In the last LEVITT LETTER Zola did say that the way he will pass is better than to be run over by a bus...

What he meant is that after his bypass operation last August, he had the chance to see the great outpour of sympathy for him. This also prepared him gently to pass onto the other side.

When people found out about his cancer, Zola got to see another wave of this outpoor of sympathy. He went quickly and genlty, I believe!

What outrages me is that no MAJOR NEWS MEDIA mentioned his death, and I haven't seen anything on TBN. ohmy.gif mad.gif sad.gif

He was kind of alone! His ministry was special! wub.gif wub.gif 1dsz5h3.gif 1dsz5h2.gif 1dsz5e4.gif cool.gif
