WASHINGTON (AFP) - The administration of President George W. Bush is reportedly planning a massive bombing campaign against Iran, including use of bunker-buster nuclear bombs to destroy a key Iranian suspected nuclear weapons facility.

The article in the April 17 issue of The New Yorker magazine by investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said that Bush and others in the White House have come to view Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a potential Adolf Hitler.

"That's the name they're using," the report quoted a former senior intelligence official as saying.

A senior unnamed Pentagon adviser is quoted in the article as saying that "this White House believes that the only way to solve the problem is to change the power structure in Iran, and that means war."

The former intelligence officials depicts planning as "enormous," "hectic" and "operational," Hersh writes.

One former defense official said the military planning was premised on a belief that "a sustained bombing campaign in Iran will humiliate the religious leadership and lead the public to rise up and overthrow the government," The New Yorker pointed out.

In recent weeks, the president has quietly initiated a series of talks on plans for Iran with a few key senators and members of the House of Representatives, including at least one Democrat, the report said.

One of the options under consideration involves the possible use of a bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapon, such as the B61-11, to insure the destruction of Iran's main centrifuge plant at Natanz, Hersh writes.

But the former senior intelligence official said the attention given to the nuclear option has created serious misgivings inside the military, and some officers have talked about resigning after an attempt to remove the nuclear option from the evolving war plans in Iran failed, according to the report.

"There are very strong sentiments within the military against brandishing nuclear weapons against other countries," the magazine quotes the Pentagon adviser as saying.

The adviser warned that bombing Iran could provoke "a chain reaction" of attacks on American facilities and citizens throughout the world and might also reignite Hezbollah.

"If we go, the southern half of Iraq will light up like a candle," the adviser is quoted as telling The New Yorker.

Don't say "retaliate with nuclear weapons!" I'm sure Bush has a well-stocked bunker somewhere in case that happens, but the rest of us would have to fend for ourselves. I've always hoped it wouldn't get nuclear until the point of the pouring out of wrath, and I don't think we're anywhere near that point. But I don't think they really care if Iran retaliates--I think they've prepared for their own safety--maybe on some tropical island far from here.

President George W Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.

In Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, a major three-part series on BBC TWO (at 9.00pm on Monday 10, Monday 17 and Monday 24 October), Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.

Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy of vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Col 2:8

"If we go, the southern half of     Iraq will light up like a candle," the adviser is quoted as telling The New Yorker.

endtime, the way I did it in the past is uploading an image from your desktop or wherever onto a blogger site, or something that you may have, and copying that code (ex. http.....etc)

You hit the IMG button above and copy in that exact code. That's how I've done it.

Here you go:

Substituting Afghanistan for N. Korea, only because we know that they already possess nukes thanks to Bill Clinton, I'd say that Bush is pretty much holding up to his speech after 9/11 in dealing with an axis of evil.

I did read a qoute yesterday in an article that spoke of his convictions to deal with terrorists and thier states claiming that he needed to do it because it's unlikely any successor would.

War is never an immediate action for dealing with whatever the situation is, we all should know that. Bush knows that to but he also knows that these islamofascists cannot be reasoned with diplomatically and taking them out is the only way to deal with them.

Please read Daniel chapter 8 as though the Ram is both Iraq and Iran and the Goat is the U.S. ( the Goat is Greece or Javan as the Jewish call Greece..... in Genesis 10 it lists one of the sons of Javan as Tarshish *the meritime people* England is Tarshish and we are one of the "villages of Tarshish" )

Please pray for Bush because if he indeed is the "first king" (the horn on the goat) he will be broken off.

But that would´nt work, coz Foxes never existed in the middle eas......... *voice trailing off*

I think the Fennec is living in North Africa.. But thats it, nowhere else (they are the only ones).. OH Well.

Did Adam name them by English ot Latin names btw?

Ah right....I don't think us Brits have Fox on our cable TV, just CNN. happy.gif

People are saying its just going to become another 'cold war' a sort of stand off where each are waving weapons at one another with the capability of killing millions but too scared to do so......unfortunately we are dealing with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - a man determined to wipe Israel off the map of the world to bring about the Muslim version of their 'messiah'. Frightening thought. unsure.gif

Which part? That maybe their Messiah is the right one, and you been on the wrong side all the long?

Actually, i get that impression from Bush. That he wants to kill anyone standing in the way of his profits and oil. ooh, i mean, PEACE Love and understanding, as long as it does not cost him money...

WRONG ONE? WRONG SIDE? I'm on the side of Jesus if that is what you are asking, there is no right 'one' or wrong 'one' only THE ONE - Jesus Christ!!

hello precious sarah.

about that "fox"....

here are the references for your consideration:

Luke 13:31, 32.

now please, consider what is written at Matt 8:20 and Luke 9:58.

yet further?

please consider Judges 15:4, 5. SAMSON!

now finally, please look at
Song of Solomon 2:15.

these "foxes" will be CAUGHT....

and they will be tied tail to tail... to bring destruction....they are ruining the vineyards!!

but you, do not you be in fear.

the greek for FOX can also mean this:
"FOX: this can also refer to a wicked person with the probable implication of being cunning or treacherous." --exhaustive concordance.

in addition?
in the Hebrew, the word for Fox can also be translated
JACKAL.

love to you. and to all who seek the Truth from our Father, given in his Word.
love,

I was dead. No medical technology could save me. No technology or knowledge could restore me to life in perfect health with no signs of what killed me. This is called resurrection. I was dead, and I know from experience Jesus is real and alive, and at at a time when I was too young to get indoctorinated, and since my parents didn't start going to church till after my death and resurrection. Some may say the near death experience has been re-created in a lab. I wasn't near death, I was dead. So far, I have not heard of any athiest resurrecting from the dead...those of us who believe, who see this world on the brink of total destruction, I am proof, Jesus is the ressurection, just like He said, and if we die, we will be ressurected. Poor Pocket! He hasn't died and been ressurected as I was and so he doesn't understand and is not a witness to the Truth! Eventually, all the dead will be ressurected during the Great White Throne Judgement, some to everlasting life, and to others, everlasting suffering...the 2nd death. I hope at least everyone gets a chance to hear, read, see and understand. With the Time of the End gettting closer, all will see with their own eyes, like lightening in the West is seen the East, the Son of Man comming with great power and glory! I wonder how those who say He doesn't exist explain His showing up and the ressurection when it happens? biggrin.gif
