IN September, 1965. I was 12 years old when I first attended Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville, Kentucky. I am legally deaf but not totally deaf. By that I mean I can speak well enough to pass for a hearing person. Thanks to my mother and Jesus for giving me that ability.

One night, I was sleeping among 5 other deaf girls in my room. My housemother usually checks on us and uses flash lights to make sure that we were all tucked in and safely sound asleep. But, that night I heard foot steps and I thought it was my housemother doing her usual rounds. I looked up and it wasn't. It was Jesus! HE came over to my bed and sat on the foot of my bed. I knew who he was so I didn't ask. He asked me if I understood why I was in this School for the Deaf. I told him that I did not. He said that he had placed me here to learn the ways of the deaf. I needed to learn the sign languages and the deaf cultures. He wanted to use me to bring the deaf to him. I was his tool to bring the deaf and that he would teach me himself rather than go to seminary.

I am now 52 years old, 40 years have passed and now am a evangelist for the Lord. He used my son to teach me the ways of the Lord. My son was hit by a van in Florida and was dead for 20 mins. Michael (son) came back to tell us many exciting events of HEAVEN! I am now currently writing a book concerning these events. The Lord is truly awesome! I have seen miracles after miracles. I love Jesus with all my heart and mind and soul! I look forward to his return! Hallelujah! Jan Simon wub.gif

Oh Thank you for sharing your amazing story! God is so good. I am so exicted to have you here on the forum. Jump right in and get your feet wet. I am looking forward to hearing all of your insight and many more wonderful stories the Lord has given you. We have a couple of things in common, Our Father and I am completely deaf in one ear, although I can hear fine in my other.
Wow still thinking about your encounter with Jesus that is just way to cool!

Your Friend in Christ,
Valerie

I got the chills and cried when I read this. Oh please, let me know where I can buy this book. I love Jesus! I only dream I could see Him again like the first time I got saved.

Welcome to the forum Jan. I've known only one deaf person, a boy that I went to elementary school w/ in the mid 60's. His name is Will. I thought about him last week wondering what happened to him. He could speak, but he sounded deaf. I was one of the few friends that he had.

I'll look forward to hearing the testimony of your son's death and ressurection.

It was so promising when I became a christian. But now to sustain as christian and with all troubles I keep asking where is the miracle GOD?. But yet I want to love God like a faithful wife to his husband.

She, start at the beginning. Start to pray a bit out of Psalm 119 back to God, every day.But you must understand what you pray and mean it from your heart. God will soon start to answer you on that prayer about His Word . Then you will be starting on your way to learn the ways of a miracle God.

I have a sister who was not born deaf, but gradually over many years got really bad. She just had an implant last year and she speaks well and reads lips. She is now in Social work for the deaf.

It just goes to show you, that what others see as a hinderance is actually a blessing.
Your deafness is a blessing. and I know it must be frustrating too for you, as in a crowd my sister misses out on conversations...but one on one she hears much better now and becoming more patient.....Oh how the LORD loves you so much and he will continue to give you peace and many blessings.

Hope to hear more from you. God's Blessings to you always.

Not to be a skepctic, but how come jesus come to me when I was looking down at a young woman whose body I blew apart with the 50 cal on my humvee. I really could have used him then. Sorry if I appear to be angry, but I am, I find it hard to believe God would allow me to do such a thing. It wasnt out of choice but necessity, I wanted some sort of "its ok" or "its not your fault". I got nothin. In my belief because there is nuthin there to forgive me.
