Tornado, Sand-Storms and Oversized Hail Strike Israel

By Ezra HaLevi

A small tornado ripped across the western Galilee Tuesday evening. Hail the size of golf balls also fell in the region. Scores were hospitalized. Freak stormy weather across Israel continues.

The tornado touched down during a hailstorm in the Acco region, striking the Arab villages of Julis, Fassouta and Jedaideh. Hail as big as ping-pong balls was reported as far away as Nahariya. In southern Israel, sandstorms reduced visibility to less than three feet.

Nine foot waves were reported on the Red Sea in Eilat, with telephone and cellular service knocked out for the entire city. The highways through the Negev were also covered completely by several inches of sand.

On Sunday, four Israeli Arabs were killed in northern Israel due to flooding. Sahar Mehamid, 23, from Umm al-Fahm was killed in Wadi Ara and three women from the lower Galilee village of Touran were killed in a car accident after driving through floodwater covering the road. PA resident Iyad Taha, from a village near Ramallah, also drowned in the floodwaters.

Tuesday's hail and tornado broke electric poles, overturned cars, uprooted trees, damaged crops and injured more than 75 people - most lightly. Most of those injured were struck by objects whipped up by the strong winds, including two children, who suffered deep lacerations. The villages lost electricity for many hours.

Farmers report that avocado, lychee and banana crops were severely damaged by the winds and hail.

Vadim Amar, Mayor of Julis, said that the tornado damaged dozens of homes and asked that the region be declared a natural disaster site.

Tornados are rare in Israel. The occasional ones that have occurred have mostly taken place over the ocean and along the coast.

Hail was also experienced in elevated areas such as Gush Etzion on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Elsewhere in Gush Etzion, an earthquake simulation exercise is being held Wednesday in Beitar Illit, in conjunction with the Defense Ministry, MDA, Israel Police, Israel Fire Department and others. The three-hour training event began at 11 AM.

Yesterday May 4, in Texas, USA, there was a report of a four-foot diameter hail stone.
Yesterday May 4, there was an earthquake 8.0 magnitude after some earthquakes in Iran and the Middle East.
The earth wabbles in its rotation which is elliptical.
The earth has a molten core.
Gravity presses down on everything toward this molten core.
The earth has pockets of oil with the layers of bitumen and tar.
The miles of layers of bitumen and tar and oil is the suppressor of heat under the continents and keeps the water temperature at a level to sustain equillibrium in the hydrologic cycle, the production of rain and dew.
Clouds form around minute particles in the air to assist in the hydrologic cycle. Mountains assist in the slowing down and rising of the air so that water may fall to the earth.
For a 4 foot raindrop to form, rise, and freeze, there must be something in the air to hold that much water and stay in the air.
Maybe the air is becoming as bouyant as the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is receding a foot a year so that means the waters of the Dead Sea are going somewhere, maybe evaporating to assist the earth in cooling.

BatYah,

Are you sure the 4 foot hailstone wasn't a chunk of a comet that's falling apart, perhaps?

The US has had considerable amounts of Hail and tornados, this year. We are East of what is known as Tornado Alley, but beginning to feel like we live inthe heart of tornado alley. Weather patterns are diffinately changing... the earth is crying out in birth pangs...more and more frequently.

Yes, the Dead Sea is drying up, I saw a news article on that just yesterday....hummm....

I believe the Dead Sea is having an effect on the weather and the example of how bouyant the water of the Dead Sea is and thinking of how many unnatural elements that are in the water in the rivers and seas and everywhere with the runoff with the roads and parking lots, the air is becoming heavier. You walk into a desert on a clear day with the wind blowing and you will see little sand tornadoes; whirlwinds. With heavier air, the whirlwinds get a little more destructive.
The Dead Sea has been receding for a long time. In 1940, they built a shoreline hotel. Now, the shoreline is about a mile away.

Deserts are increasing as well...thus more sand storms, and dust storms...

Perhaps God is planning to rain on the gay parade? lol
