I grew up in a christian home but I never had a real undestanding of who god was or jesus I belived in them I just never knew who they were. I didn't even no what was a sin and what wasn't. Well at the from the age of 12-14 I underwent a drastic change I had low self esteem issues, I was going through a deep depression, and I hated the world and everything in it because I couldn't see anything good in it.Then a few moths before I turned 15 I was granted a new heart I didn't know it but others around me noticed everyone would tell me "you're different" it was like I looked at the world from a different set of eyes suddenly without any intervention that I was able to see. It wasn't until I was 16 almost 17 that I would realize there was a greater force working in my life. I went to churh one night to a revival and there was a guest speaker the church was filled with spirit and people were being moved. The whole night me and my cousin were joking around just playing. The speaker told all those who wanted to give themselves to jesus to lift there hands up I did it as a joke but then there was a wake up call inside of me and in an instant a something that started out as a joke turned into something very real. I was crying something that i had never done before I'm the type of person who has always tryed to keep myself from any feelings that i considered weak such as love so openning up to the lord was something I dreamed i would never be able to do. The year after I got saved was one of the most difficult. I under went many other drastic changes but it matured me mentally, emotionally, and spiritualluy. When i look back at my life before I got saved even though I was very young I drifted through life and was the living dead. Jesus was watching over me since the day I was born and he knew me and loved me before I knew him. The days when I thought and believed no one loved me and I was unworthy to be loved he loved me. I am forever thankful what jesus has done to me. I love him and thank him everyday and pray that he works in others in the same way he has worked in me.

Welcome to the family! Thanks for sharing your testimony of coming to Christ.
I pray that you will continue on this journey to know the Father. He is just waiting for you to spend your time with Him. He will truly amaze you; the things He will show you as I am sure you are aware of. Just soak His word up and call out to Him and He will shew you great and mighty things that you do not know. How cool is that!
Your Friend In Christ,
Valerie
