I grew up in churches, attending as many as 3 to 4 times a week, I was "acquainted" with the story of Jesus and "believed" what I had heard. However I never appropriated the gospel message for myself. I somehow felt I was going to heaven because of the "overflow" of my mothers and grandmothers great love of Jesus. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I DIDN'T KNOW.
As I grew from my teens to my twenties, I readily acknowledged the Lord and continued to go to church "out of obligation and guilt". I was an adult functioning as a spiritual child ..... as I sinned, and I knew I was sinning, I felt great guilt...... but not enough to alter my thoughts and actions. I was a fraud in what I appeared to be, versus what I believed in my heart and acted upon.
When I was transferred to another state in 1982, with my new wife of four years. we continued to attend church and I served in several capacities. However, my wife who was a relatively new "born again" Chirstian, was growing much faster than I ..... and more importantly, she was appropriating her new spiritual understanding into her life. During that period we attended a large evangelical church in the local area; and they were holding special services; the speaker, the head of the denomination, spoke directly to me from a passage in Matthew!
During that message, I came under conviction of the Holy Spirit like I had never experienced before. The passage was a parable (Mt. 13: 24-29) that Jesus taught called the "Wheat and the Tares (weeds)". In this passage Jesus describes the kingdom as "like a field planted with fine wheat seed, but during the night the "enemy" (satan) slips in and sows weeds amoung the wheat. The resultant crop is a mixture of weeds (Me) that are indistinguishable from the wheat (the believer). Not until the crop grows to maturity and the weeds do not "bear any fruit", are they seperated. The "pregnant" question for me than; "Was I wheat or weeds?" Was I the truth or a fraud?
I, then and there, was convicted of fraud, masquerading as a Christian, and I saw myself clearly as a weed in the Lord's field. I went forward at the invitation to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior ..... much to the surprise of many ..... in October 1983. I was re-baptised as a consenting and acknowledging adult. My life has never been the same, and the HOP I HAVE AND THE FORGIVENESS I FEEL IN CHRIST, is indescribable.

Weed Seeds

"I have many things "up My sleeve" that I have never shared with you! I have abstained from showing you all I have prepared for you that your head would stay on straight. It is so easy for the flesh of man to destroy the anointing of God, as you have well observed of late. My matchless wonder working power is reserved strictly for those with a heart to do My will. You have transgressed and fallen short and trod a path which is not ordained of Me, but rather is a not so well hidden ruse of Satan. Your flesh has loved this thing, which is an abomination to Me, even while your spirit has cried out for My mercy. I am still here! I have not cast you off, for I know that weeds will spring forth from the heart of man, just as they spring forth in the best kept garden.

Your lot is not so desperate as you have supposed, as I have never lifted a finger to either prevent the weeds, or to alter the state of growth of the weeds in your heart. I have left it to you to perceive that weeds are present, and must of a necessity be purged from the soil of your heart. Many fold returns of victory will be your abiding place in Me if you only take the bull by the horns and wrestle your sin to the ground. I am that I am, even a God of Holiness, righteousness and truth, and you shall never escape from My tender mercy. I have known your heart from before the foundations of the world, and surely you will indeed master over the formation of weeds to the end of your faith, even the salvation of your soul. "I can't" is not a part of My vocabulary, and thus as it is so, it should never be a part of yours either! Unimaginable triumph is available to the one who will but spread the diseased wings of surrender and trust out in the sunshine of my love.

Mount up on high, as an eagle when aged and in need of pruning of her feathers. Rest upon the Rock in the High places of the earth, and in the presence of God in the Holiest hill. I will heal and cleanse and bring refreshing, saith God, the Holy One of Heaven and earth! Be prepared to shout the shout of faith in victory over sin, sickness and disease, over every evil work and seed of iniquity. I will bring growth to place you in a position where you are able to win over all these things, for I paid for them mightily at the cross. I am the Fountain of Living Waters to which you are welcome to come and slake your thirst. I will never refuse a drink from the fountain of My presence.

I am an uninterrupted flow of all things good. I am your Lord and your God. I am the Wonderful, Councillor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father of all living, The Holy One of old. I endure unto all generations and you shall inherit eternity where time is undiscovered and has no need to be realized. Remember that in your flesh dwells no good thing, but you are not condemned if so be that My Spirit has the ascendancy in your life. Be aware and know the validity of My watch care over you. I am now stepping out to meet you and to forestall the plan of Satan in My garden. I AM The Lord"
