Hey, I don't know how many of you guys are Canadian, but i am and i voted monday jan, 23. My Fiance did not recieve a voters card in the mail to take to vote. With out this card you have to register.

Well, when she went to register the person told her that you don't have to swear on the bible any more...you just sign the paper...They took God strait out of the election!!

She also said, if you want you can just say "under God" in your head after you read the paper.

That's rediculous don't you think....I mean first out of the classrooms, then the constitution, and next the election....What's next, the churches?!?

I don't know too much about your political parties and candidates but it sounds like the people of Canada spoke loud and clear in this election I hope the change will be a change for the better.

Well i don't know about "loud and clear" considering it's only a minority Govenment ....this means that the new Primeminister Stephen Harper has less than half of the vote of Canada.

the rest of the votes went to the Liberal, NDP, Block Quebecois, and the green party....

I am Canadian and all I can say is I voted and I am going to pray for our new leader. He is going to need it.

I saw the bible sitting there when I went to vote and I was happy for that.
At least the bible was visible to all. This was at least a good thing.

So far I haven't been shut up for speaking Jesus. I will continue to do so.
Maybe you will see me in jail one day, but i am not going to deny my faith
in Him.

I can see it too. The whole world is like Babylon. Not just one country that is for sure, but many if not all. Where is a country that is totally committed to our Lord and Saviour. Yes I see that there is only a few that are on the narrow path.

It's getting lonely here on earth. We must speak out and never be ashamed of Jesus. If we are He will be ashamed of us.

I don't think an election in Canada has ever been clearer for Christians. Martin mind as well have said, "Don't vote for those evangelical crazies who do not believe in abortion and homosexuality!"

I don't like that the liberals were for same sex marriage,
but I don't trust the conservatives either.

However Harper is in and I will pray for our leader for God
tells me to do so.

In my gut I think things are going to be tough.
You asked what do you think about Harper being pro war-
I try not to think about that fact. That was a big factor for
my dad and brother, plus the fact that they think the
conservatives will push for a two tier health care system.

We have a good health care sytem here in Canada.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the countries that have
a two tier system and how it has failed.

Just my thoughts and you will have to forgive me because I come
\from a staunch liberal family. So this time around it was tough.
won't tell you how I voted but I had a very tough time deciding.
My brother ran for the liberal party years ago, so you see how
the pressure is when election time comes around.

All that being said my whole family was upsest with the liberal scandals.
Not too many honest politicians out there. Doesn't mean we have
one in office now either.

After Mulroney, I said I would never vote conservative again. But times have changed. Maybe we can rescind the same sex marriage and abortion laws and the GST etc. Maybe we can claw back the huge pensions the MPs get. Maybe we can have Christian TV instead of Playboy. Maybe there will be no more adscams etc...why don't I believe any of this?

But in all seriousness, we need to change. I want to go back and live in the
50's. Wait a minute I only had one year in the 50's but from what my dad
told me it was a much simpler time. So was the 60's Sure it was simple for
me then I was a kid.
