Computer chips get under skin of enthusiasts

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Forgetting computer passwords is an everyday source of frustration, but a solution may literally be at hand -- in the form of computer chip implants.

With a wave of his hand, Amal Graafstra, a 29-year-old entrepreneur based in Vancouver, Canada, opens his front door. With another, he logs onto his computer.

Tiny radio frequency identification (RFID) computer chips inserted into Graafstra's hands make it all possible.

"I just don't want to be without access to the things that I need to get access to. In the worst case scenario, if I'm in the alley naked, I want to still be able to get in (my house)," Graafstra said in an interview in New York, where he is promoting the technology. "RFID is for me."

The computer chips, which cost about $2, interact with a device installed in computers and other electronics. The chips are activated when they come within 3 inches of a so-called reader, which scans the data on the chips. The "reader" devices are available for as little as $50 (29 pounds).

Information about where to buy the chips and readers is available online at the "tagged" forum, (http://tagged.kaos.gen.nz/) where enthusiasts of the technology chat and share information.

Graafstra said at least 20 of his tech-savvy pals have RFID implants.

"I can't feel it at all. It doesn't impede me. It doesn't hurt at all. I almost can't tell it's there," agreed Jennifer Tomblin, a 23-year-old marketing student and Graafstra's girlfriend.

'ABRACADABRA'

Mikey Sklar, a 28-year-old Brooklyn resident, said, "It does give you some sort of power of 'Abracadabra,' of making doors open and passwords enter just by a wave of your hand."

The RFID chip in Sklar's hand, which is smaller than a grain of rice and can last up to 100 years, was injected by a surgeon in Los Angeles.

Tattoo artists and veterinarians also could insert the chips into people, he said. For years, veterinarians have been injecting similar chips into pets so the animals can be returned to their owners if they are lost.

Graafstra was drawn to RFID tagging to make life easier in this technological age, but Sklar said he was more intrigued by the technology's potential in a broader sense. In the future, technological advances will allow people to store, transmit and access encrypted personal information in an increasing number of wireless ways, Sklar said.

Wary of privacy issues, Sklar said he is developing a fabric "shield" to protect such chips from being read by strangers seeking to steal personal information or identities. One advantage of the RFID chip, Graafstra said, is that it cannot get lost or stolen. And the chip can always be removed from a person's body.

"It's kind of a gadget thing, and it's not so impressive to have it on your key chain as it is to have it in you," Sklar said. "But it's not for everyone."

Sklar's girlfriend, Wendy Tremayne, has yet to be convinced. She said she probably would not inject the computer chip into her body unless she thought it was a "necessity."

"If it becomes more convenient, I may," said the 38-year-old artist and yoga teacher. "(But) I'd rather have an organic life."

Will people know they are taking the mark? I remember something about it on an older post, but forget the answer and details. Will they be deceived by their greed and desire to function here, or will it be an the final choice between Jesus and satan?

I am amazed at how cheaply it can be done. I also found this quote most interesting.

HI to all my name is Dustin and i just started here and found this as I as looking through this site and this about the chip got my interest. So like some or porbably most of you that is a scary thought having a ship in your skin and not really knowing what its there for. They say its there so you wont forget something on the comp. but it could be that you are always being tracked our government or worse someone else's government. But either way its just letting us know that we are in the last days and we have to get prepared if we aren't already. So let us all try to make aware of this situation and hopefully me might can do something about it, but if not then we know we are in the last days for sure.

Wow, How Cheap is right. But most importantly how many will be deceived into believing this is a ""good" thing.

Reminds me of cattle being taken to the slaughter house. They just follow one another, and then it's all over!

They are planning on using a lot of them; that is why the price is so inexpensive. Wonder who's working on all the gillotines for those who become Christians after the rapture?

I am so glad that God gave us the ability to see (Discerning Spirit)through the devil's attempts. But just how many will follow this fool is beyound my accounting skills. We need to be praying for the scales to fall from the lost' eyes and ear's.

If we read the verses just before the mark of the beast is mentioned we see that other things will be happening during the time that the mark will be introduced.

Revelation 13
14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,

The scriptures state that people will be given two choices:
1) worship the image of the beast
or
2) Be executed.

This is mentioned before the verse what says "He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,"

So what if the mark of the beast is a reward for those who worshipped the image of the beast? I believe that the anti-christ will not be making true followers of the Messiah Jesus take the mark of the beast. I believe that true followers of Jesus will refuse to worship the image and therefore be diqualified by the false profit from recieving the mark of the beast.

Here in Brazil, in the state of Sao Paulo, over 50 businessmen have been chipped already, specially because they wanted the GPS feature for safety reasons.
I'm not posting the link for the news because it is written in portuguese.
BTW, the 2 biggest public banks here (Banco do Brasil and Caixa Economica Federal) are doing all they can in order to open bank accounts for very poor people. They don't ask for documents...one doesn't have to prove its income nor address to get to open an account. Our government wants to make sure that soon everyone will have a card (with a chip) in his hands.

Dear Lord, I had no idea that it was happening there also. Luiz, I'll be praying for your country. I have many friends from Brazil, Colombia, Venezulla, Mexico, and other parts of the world. WE won't be waiting long; before this becomes a normal occurance. These implants are not good! The banks/government are trying to help the poor people there? What are they doing?! I understand they are letting people open bank accounts w/o ID, but what is their real motives? Nothing in this life is free, except Jesus!

well this might mean a malfunction in the microchips causing pain or somebody found out how to attak people those with chips through a satalite well hey our technology is getting more complicated

As I said, these two governamental banks are doing all they can in order for the poor people in Brazil to open a bank account. Banco do Brasil goes as far as lending money without guarantees, supposely to help people to open a small business.
BTW, our president belong to a party (Partido dos Trabalhadores = Labor Party) who carrys a red pentagram as a symbol (baphomet?). Take a look at this simbol at : http://www.pt.org.br/site/images/new_adm_premios.gif

I once saw a prophetic video that told of a advanced chip design that called for the chip to have it's own independent power source. The Chip had a micro generator designed to take advantage of the change in blood temperature of the body during the day. (Coincidently the areas of the body that experience the greatest temperature variation is the forehead and the back of the hand). The generator was linked to a battery. The battery was made of a highly toxic substance. The commentator commented that if this battery ever leaked into the surrounding tissue it would cause a toxic reaction that would result in a wound that would be very hard to heal.

I believe that the anti-christ will claim to be just that... Our Lord Jesus Christ. He will deceive the religious who do not embrace the love of The truth but believe in a cut down twisted faith, what the bible calls another jesus or a balaam jesus. That’s why we must Believe Jesus and truly embrace His Message the love of the Truth.

Only then can The Holy Spirit reveal the truth to us and give us the wisdom needed to protect us from the great deception that is going to be worked upon mankind. The world is being deceived right now and being set up for the great deception.
