Assad: War with Israel a possibility

Syrian President Bashar Assad said Thursday that the possibility of a new war in the Middle East could not be ruled out.

Assad said he believed Israel could decide to attack Syria, because it was "looking for a way out of the crisis it is in through a new [military] operation."

Israel might attack Syria under the pretense that the country was aiding Iran, Assad said.

In this case, "Syria will resist, stand strong and never give in," Assad told Lebanon's As-Safir newspaper on Thursday.

Since the end of the war between Israel and Lebanon, there has been increased discussion in political circles over the relationship between Israel and Syria.

On August 21 Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter (Kadima) surprised the political establishment by announcing that he was in favor of a withdrawing from the Golan Heights in exchange for lasting peace with Syria.

Dichter's statement was echoed one week later by Finnish Ambassador Kari Veijalainen, when he told The Jerusalem Post that Israel would do well to signal a willingness to pick up negations with the Syrians where they broke off in 1999 as a way to get Damascus on board to help implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

However, soon after Dichter made his remarks, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert rejected the notion of peace talks with Syria.

Syria is the "single most aggressive member of the axis of evil," Olmert said, ruling out a resumption of negotiations with Damascus at this time.

"I am the last person who will say I want to negotiate with Syria," Olmert snapped.

IRVING, TX. -- A $30 million, six-to-eight-month project to uncover the world's largest oil field atop a salt dome at the southwest end of Israel's Dead Sea, is expected to begin in early 1999, according to respected Texas oil man, Harold "Hayseed" Stephens.

The Hebrew translation of Isaiah 45:3 reads: "I will shoot up to you deposits stored in valuable dungeon-type containers, so that you will know that I Am the Lord your God, who called you by name." However, Stephens had his own version: "I will shoot up (Texas terms: I will gush up to you) deposits (oil deposits) that are stored in the valuable dungeon-type containers (oil traps) so that you will know that I Am the Lord your God Who called you by name." It should be noted, Stephens said, that in Isaiah 45, God is talking to a Gentile, King Cyrus. He also explained that in Isaiah 60:5, "because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you."

Assembly of the Wicked


Yesterday we were shocked to hear Venezuela's Hugo Chavez actually call US president George Bush the devil. But, there was something else that Chavez said. He said it was time that the US dominated UN system be changed. Today, we heard Chavez's friend -- Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- say the very same thing. Why does the present system need to be changed? According to Ahmadinejad, because the world needs freedom.

As I listened to his words, I could see how some of the ignorant and economically suppressed peoples of the world might respond to Ahmadinejad's logic. After all, by his words his intentions appear so good. Then, suddenly, Ahmadinejad turned on Israel. Once again, we couldn't have had a clearer example of a political/religious leader having horns as a lamb but speaking as a dragon.

Yes, we may laugh at Chavez calling Bush the devil. But, no one is laughing at Ahmadinejad -- especially not Israel. After blaming America and Israel for all that's wrong in the world, Ahmadinejad may have revealed his true intentions. He said the "time for nuclear bombs has ended." In other words, Ahmadinejad wants the remaining free nations to disarm and he wants a new international system that's not under the free world's control.

Yesterday I quoted Psalms two. Today, as I watched what was happening in the UN, another Psalm came to mind.

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish (Psalm 1:1-6 New American Standard Bible).

Friends, president Bush is right not accepting Ahmadinjad's invitation to dialogue. According to the above passage of Scripture, the people of God have no business sitting down in the assembly of the wicked. Yet, unfortunately, I suspect that's what Bush is secretly doing. He's not doing it himself, he's doing it through the EU's Javier Solana.

The problem is, as I said before, no one who knows what's going on is laughing at Ahmadinjad. That explains why many world leaders have begun looking to Solana to resolve the Iranian nuclear dispute Read about it here. And, for us students of prophecy, this is where it gets interesting.

You see, the EU has good reasons for wanting a solution to the Iranian crisis. The main reason is energy. In fact, achieving a secure energy supply was one of the primary reasons for Solana's 1995 Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace (Euromed) to begin with. The Euromed now provides the framework for all following EU/Mediterranean agreements. Keep in mind, there is something else that provides the framework for all EU agreements -- it's the EU's seven-year budget term See example here. So, whatever EU/Mediterranean agreements we see coming, they will fit into the Euromed and seven-year framework.

Friends, I believe we may be in that time of history of which Jesus spoke -- the time of the fig tree putting forth its leaves. Jesus said:

Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door (Matthew 24:32-33).

WAR - U.S. Strike Group Heads for Iran's West Coast: October Surprise?

As reports circulate of a sharp debate within the White House over possible US military action against Iran and its nuclear enrichment facilities, The Nation has learned that the Bush Administration and the Pentagon have issued orders for a major "strike group" of ships, including the nuclear aircraft carrier Eisenhower as well as a cruiser, destroyer, frigate, submarine escort and supply ship, to head for the Persian Gulf, just off Iran's western coast. This information follows a report in the current issue of Time magazine, both online and in print, that a group of ships capable of mining harbors has received orders to be ready to sail for the Persian Gulf by October 1.

As Time writes in its cover story, "What Would War Look Like?," evidence of the forward deployment of minesweepers and word that the chief of naval operations had asked for a reworking of old plans for mining Iranian harbors "suggest that a much discussed--but until now largely theoretical--prospect has become real: that the U.S. may be preparing for war with Iran."

According to Lieut. Mike Kafka, a spokesman at the headquarters of the Second Fleet, based in Norfolk, Virginia, the Eisenhower Strike Group, bristling with Tomahawk cruise missiles, has received recent orders to depart the United States in a little over a week. Other official sources in the public affairs office of the Navy Department at the Pentagon confirm that this powerful armada is scheduled to arrive off the coast of Iran on or around October 21.

The Eisenhower had been in port at the Naval Station Norfolk for several years for refurbishing and refueling of its nuclear reactor; it had not been scheduled to depart for a new duty station until at least a month later, and possibly not till next spring. Family members, before the orders, had moved into the area and had until then expected to be with their sailor-spouses and parents in Virginia for some time yet. First word of the early dispatch of the "Ike Strike" group to the Persian Gulf region came from several angry officers on the ships involved, who contacted antiwar critics like retired Air Force Col. Sam Gardiner and complained that they were being sent to attack Iran without any order from the Congress.

"This is very serious," said Ray McGovern, a former CIA threat-assessment analyst who got early word of the Navy officers' complaints about the sudden deployment orders. (McGovern, a twenty-seven-year veteran of the CIA, resigned in 2002 in protest over what he said were Bush Administration pressures to exaggerate the threat posed by Iraq. He and other intelligence agency critics have formed a group called Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity.)

Colonel Gardiner, who has taught military strategy at the National War College, says that the carrier deployment and a scheduled Persian Gulf arrival date of October 21 is "very important evidence" of war planning. He says, "I know that some naval forces have already received 'prepare to deploy orders' [PTDOs], which have set the date for being ready to go as October 1. Given that it would take about from October 2 to October 21 to get those forces to the Gulf region, that looks about like the date" of any possible military action against Iran. (A PTDO means that all crews should be at their stations, and ships and planes should be ready to go, by a certain date--in this case, reportedly, October 1.) Gardiner notes, "You cannot issue a PTDO and then stay ready for very long. It's a very significant order, and it's not done as a training exercise." This point was also made in the Time article.

So what is the White House planning?

On Monday President Bush addressed the UN General Assembly at its opening session, and while studiously avoiding even physically meeting Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was also addressing the body, he offered a two-pronged message. Bush told the "people of Iran" that "we're working toward a diplomatic solution to this crisis" and that he looked forward "to the day when you can live in freedom." But he also warned that Iran's leaders were using the nation's resources "to fund terrorism and fuel extremism and pursue nuclear weapons." Given the President's assertion that the nation is fighting a "global war on terror" and that he is Commander in Chief of that "war," his prominent linking of the Iran regime with terror has to be seen as a deliberate effort to claim his right to carry the fight there. Bush has repeatedly insisted that the 2001 Congressional Authorization for the Use of Force that preceded the invasion of Afghanistan was also an authorization for an unending "war on terror."

Even as Bush was making not-so-veiled threats at the UN, his former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, a sharp critic of any unilateral US attack on Iran, was in Norfolk, not far from the Eisenhower, advocating further diplomatic efforts to deal with Iran's nuclear program--itself tantalizing evidence of the policy struggle over whether to go to war, and that those favoring an attack may be winning that struggle.

"I think the plan's been picked: bomb the nuclear sites in Iran," says Gardiner. "It's a terrible idea, it's against US law and it's against international law, but I think they've decided to do it." Gardiner says that while the United States has the capability to hit those sites with its cruise missiles, "the Iranians have many more options than we do: They can activate Hezbollah; they can organize riots all over the Islamic world, including Pakistan, which could bring down the Musharraf government, putting nuclear weapons into terrorist hands; they can encourage the Shia militias in Iraq to attack US troops; they can blow up oil pipelines and shut the Persian Gulf." Most of the major oil-producing states in the Middle East have substantial Shiite populations, which has long been a concern of their own Sunni leaders and of Washington policy-makers, given the sometimes close connection of Shiite populations to Iran's religious rulers.

Of course, Gardiner agrees, recent ship movements and other signs of military preparedness could be simply a bluff designed to show toughnessin the bargaining with Iran over its nuclear program. But with the Iranian coast reportedly armed to the teeth with Chinese Silkworm antiship missiles, and possibly even more sophisticated Russian antiship weapons, against which the Navy has little reliable defenses, it seems unlikely the Navy would risk high-value assets like aircraft carriers or cruisers with such a tactic. Nor has bluffing been a Bush MO to date.

Commentators and analysts across the political spectrum are focusing on Bush's talk about dialogue, with many claiming that he is climbing down from confrontation. On the right, David Frum, writing on September 20 in his National Review blog, argues that the lack of any attempt to win a UN resolution supporting military action, and rumors of "hushed back doors" being opened in Washington, lead him to expect a diplomatic deal, not a unilateral attack. Writing in the center, Washington Post reporter Glenn Kessler saw in Bush's UN speech evidence that "war is no longer a viable option" in Iran. Even on the left, where confidence in the Bush Administration's judgment is abysmally low, commentators like Noam Chomsky and Nation contributor Robert Dreyfuss are skeptical that an attack is being planned. Chomsky has long argued that Washington's leaders aren't crazy, and would not take such a step--though more recently, he has seemed less sanguine about Administration sanity and has suggested that leaks about war plans may be an effort by military leaders--who are almost universally opposed to widening the Mideast war--to arouse opposition to such a move by Bush and war advocates like Cheney. Dreyfuss, meanwhile, in an article for the online journal TomPaine.com, focuses on the talk of diplomacy in Bush's Monday UN speech, not on his threats, and concludes that it means "the realists have won" and that there will be no Iran attack.

But all these war skeptics may be whistling past the graveyard. After all, it must be recalled that Bush also talked about seeking diplomatic solutions the whole time he was dead-set on invading Iraq, and the current situation is increasingly looking like a cheap Hollywood sequel. The United States, according to Gardiner and others, already reportedly has special forces operating in Iran, and now major ship movements are looking ominous.

Representative Maurice Hinchey, a leading Democratic critic of the Iraq War, informed about the Navy PTDOs and about the orders for the full Eisenhower Strike Group to head out to sea, said, "For some time there has been speculation that there could be an attack on Iran prior to November 7, in order to exacerbate the culture of fear that the Administration has cultivated now for over five or six years. But if they attack Iran it will be a very bad mistake, for the Middle East and for the US. It would only make worse the antagonism and fear people feel towards our country. I hope this Administration is not so foolish and irresponsible." He adds, "Military people are deeply concerned about the overtaxing of the military already."

Calls for comment from the White House on Iran war plans and on the order for the Eisenhower Strike Group to deploy were referred to the National Security Council press office, which declined to return this reporter's phone calls.

McGovern, who had first told a group of anti-Iraq War activists Sunday on the National Mall in Washington, DC, during an ongoing action called "Camp Democracy," about his being alerted to the strike group deployment, warned, "We have about seven weeks to try and stop this next war from happening."

One solid indication that the dispatch of the Eisenhower is part of a force buildup would be if the carrier Enterprise--currently in the Arabian Sea, where it has been launching bombing runs against the Taliban in Afghanistan, and which is at the end of its normal six-month sea tour--is kept on station instead of sent back to the United States. Arguing against simple rotation of tours is the fact that the Eisenhower's refurbishing and its dispatch were rushed forward by at least a month. A report from the Enterprise on the Navy's official website referred to its ongoing role in the Afghanistan fighting, and gave no indication of plans to head back to port. The Navy itself has no comment on the ship's future orders.

Jim Webb, Secretary of the Navy in the Reagan Administration and currently a Democratic candidate for Senate in Virginia, expressed some caution about reports of the carrier deployment, saying, "Remember, carrier groups regularly rotate in and out of that region." But he added, "I do not believe that there should be any elective military action taken against Iran without a separate authorization vote by the Congress. In my view, the 2002 authorization which was used for the invasion of Iraq should not extend to Iran."

several months ago if I thought Iran's leader Ahmadinejad was the Anti-Christ? I replied that I don't think this is him but he could be preparing the way for the Anti-Christ just as John the Baptist prepared the way for the Messiah. I think that according to many of the prophecies of Islam they seem to line up with the prophecies of the Bible concerning the Anti-Christ!

It's Solana's Neighborhood
According to this report, Israel may be going for it Read about it here. It's the EU's Neighborhood Policy and part of Javier Solana's new security doctrine. When he introduced it, he called it A Secure Europe in a Better World. Now, most call it the Solana Doctrine.

Solana's idea was, if Europe wants to be secure, the EU must do what it can to make the surrounding nations secure. So, settling the Israeli/Palestinian conflict became first on Solana's foreign policy agenda.

As far as Bible prophecy goes, I'm still in a bit of awe over the Solana Doctrine. In fact, if you've read my book, you will notice that I ended it with a commentary about Solana presenting it to the EU heads in June of 2003.

I think it's still important. Let's take a look at what I wrote:

Solana's Secure Europe and Better World
The most amazing thing is happening. Just last week, the fragile world order lay fractured and nobody knew what to do about it. Now, suddenly, a man may have appeared with a solution.

Here was the problem: The Iraqi war was threatening to turn old friends into new enemies. Some EU member states -- such as Germany, France and Belgium -- strongly and openly opposed America going to war in Iraq. Others -- such as Britain, Spain and Portugal -- fully supported the war. Then there were all the remaining EU nations, on both sides of the Iraqi issue, who also had strong feelings but stayed out of the fight.

To make matters worse, an unusual heat wave awaited the EU heads when they gathered in Greece for their important June summit. At this summit the EU heads would be tackling the most difficult and controversial issues over what shape their new, super EU would take.

This was the setting for the EU's High Representative, Javier Solana, to present his 10-page document. It was titled, "A Secure Europe in a Better World." And, it's goal was to give the EU a new foreign policy that would achieve what its name implied (Read about it here).

Solana's plan had three basic parts. First, it called for the EU to contribute more resources to establishing economic and political stability in their neighborhood. Second, it called on the EU to build an international order. And third, it called for the EU to strengthen its civil and military capacity to deal with the threat of weapons of mass destruction and rogue states.

There was nothing really surprising about Solana's plan. What was surprising was the way everybody loved it. France loved it because it would created a multipolar world to counter American dominance. Germany loved it because it would build an international order. Britain, Spain, Portugal and the 10 new EU members loved it because it stressed the importance of maintaining good relations with America and the Atlantic alliance. Even the United States liked this part.

Another thing that interests me about this is the timing. Solana couldn't have delivered his proposal at a better time. As I mentioned before, the EU heads were discussing the blueprint for their new EU. And, part of this blueprint called for a much more powerful EU foreign minister who will have a seat in the Council next to the heads of state. Not only that, this new foreign minister will also have the authority to sign treaties for the EU. In other words, as far as foreign policy goes, whoever holds this new foreign minister post could end up being more powerful than even the new EU president.

Like I said, just last week the fragile world order lay fractured and nobody knew what to do about it. Now, suddenly, a man may have appeared with a solution.

If I were looking for a foreign minister, I know who I'd choose.

One more thing, the plan is to have this agreement enter into force when the EU's next budget term begins. It will begin on January 1, 2007 and end in 2013 Read about it here. Let's see:

About two weeks ago, early on Sunday morning as I was preparing to go to church, I had a vision. I was caught up into heaven and I saw angels all around me. They were working and making preparations for what looked like a banquet. Everything was white – white canopies, white pavilions, white gazebos, what looked like white silk instead of canvas covering massive outdoor tents with elegant plumes and sashes hanging from white poles. It was clear as I looked around that there remained much mo re work to do.


The Lord then spoke to me and He said, “Do you know what this is?” I replied, “No Sir, but it looks like some kind of big garden party you are getting ready for.” He said, “My son, this is preparations for My Wedding Supper. All of heaven has been waiting for this day. It is almost time for Me to come for My Bride. There is great joy and celebration here in anticipation for the moment when I shall call her out of the earth.”


I was too amazed to say anything. It was so beautiful! The grass was so perfect. The flowers were blooming and the flower arrangements were being gathered from the nearby rose gardens by the angels. I had never seen such bright colors as those that were in those flowers! Everything was perfect wher ever I looked. There were white doves that were flying with streamers that they were wrapping around the tent poles. They were in perfect symmetry as they would circle and wrap them. It reminded me of a May Day celebration that I saw once as a child, where there was a pole that was being wrapped in geometric designs by children as they circled it with their streamers. It ended up looking like a candy cane. But these were all in pastel colors of every hue of the rainbow. They were breathtaking to watch!


Then I saw the tables being brought in and placed next to each other. They stretched out under these outdoor tent pavilions as far as the eye could see. As I looked closer, I could see at each place setting there was a golden rectangular nameplate. As I looked, some were intricately engraved with the names of those that were to be seated there. Some of these name plates were encrusted w ith jewels that sparkled and glowed like there was a bright light shining behind them. Others were just with a plain name. The tables were not fully set, but I saw that it was the most elegant party preparation that I had ever seen. It could not be compared to anything on this earth. There was great joy and excitement in the air. The angels were singing in the most awesome songs as they worked. As I listened a little closer, I thought that I could hear the words as they sang about the righteous deeds of those that were to be seated where they were working.



Then the Lord said to me, “Tell My Bride that I am coming soon! Everything is being prepared. In a little while, all sorrow, pain, sickness, poverty, and every teardrop will be wiped away. There is only a little longer that you must labor. You must work now while it is still time, for the darkness is soon coming u pon the earth when all will be in tribulation. Stay ready and remain alert in watching and praying. I will surely come for you, just as I promised in My Word.”


Then I was back in my room again, and I got in the shower to get ready for church.

This is the account of the vision I received earlier this month.

'Iran's supreme leader forbids use of nukes'

Iran's supreme leader has prohibited any use of nuclear weapons by his country, Iranian First Vice President Parziv Davoudi said Friday.

Davoudi, one of 10 vice presidents in Iran, also warned that his government would retaliate against any military action against it.

"Any aggressor should purge the idea of invading Iran from its mind because our armed forces are serious and powerful enough to counterattack," Davoudi said at a military parade in Teheran.

That was one of the most moving visions I have ever heard of! My heart is overjoyed but I cannot quit weeping. I was there I seen it! It was so beautiful there was so much peace and happiness. Yet there is this bitterness as well Dear God please let all my children and loved ones be there. Lord Jesus I just could not bare the thought of being there with You and them not! Such a Bitter-Sweet moment! I am reminded of Revelation 10.

Rev. 10:9 & 10And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it , and eat it up: and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it , my belly was bitter.


vs 7 tells us this occurs in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound.


Move to Revelation 11:15-19

15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.




I truly believe that it was sweet because like vs 18 the Lord is going to reward the prophets and saints and them that fear Him! We are going to be with Jesus!

But it will be bitterness because its time for God to pour out His wrath on an un-believing world. He will destroy them which destroy the earth.

Always Right
One thing we know about president George Bush is he's not always right. In fact, many in his own party perceive the Bush Administration as making one mistake after another. This morning we had another example. President Bush held a joint press conference with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in an attempt to prevent further damage to US/Pakastani relations caused by some ill-advised words from a former member of his team Read about it here.

This is evidently not the case with the EU's Javier Solana. If you recall, Solana held a joint news conference with the Israeli Foreign Minister shortly after the beginning of the Israeli/Lebanon war. During the news conference Solana said Israel should consider the reaction to their bombing of Lebanese cities in the Islamic streets. He said the war against terror should be understood as a battle for hearts and minds. It's looking like Solana may have been right. This morning I read a report that said:

According to the Citizen (not available online), a Hezbollah “victory rally” is expected to be held in Beirut today, and the militant group expects “hundreds of thousands” to attend. If that proves to be the case, then the Israeli-Hezbollah war will have proven itself to have been not just a tactical mistake, but a major political one as well—one that could severely set back any hope of peace and stability in the region for years to come Read it here.

Of course, we students of prophecy know that a short time of peace may be soon coming. Yet, if a time of peace comes, it will once again appear to many that Solana's strategies have been right. If peace is achieved in the Middle East it will most likely be partly because of Solana's foresight and his 1995 Euro-Mediterranean Partnership For Peace and the so-called "Barcelona Process" Read about it here.

Notice in the above paragraph I said, "it will once again appear." That's because, as I said before, the Bible tells us that in the time of the end Israel will enter into a covenant with many that will be broken only 3 1/2 years later. And, after the peace agreement is broken, a great time of distress for the Jewish nation and God's people will follow (Daniel 9:27).

Friends, if the EU's Euro-Mediterranean Partnership agreement is the foretold covenant with many and if the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument is the covenant's seven-year confirming process, the world may be on brink of Daniel's 70th week.

And, one thing we know about the Bible; its always right.

The destruction of the earth destroys your mind. The reliance of the Eastern regions, such as Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, et al, on the use of fossil fuels has darkened their minds to the possibilities of reaching any kind of solution, if you will. And maybe president Bush is thinking that the ability of any axis power to gain atomic energy would be against the 'spirit' of the past. If you consider what has occured in the past with the oil and the oil products in areas like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and even now, in Israel you would wonder 'How has it gone on so long?' The silence of the leaders is a sign that there is a major plan that is being considered. And the words of the leaders that have come forward to place any blame or ridicule nations is just a seal on the fate that awaits. It is not that God is slow in His response, but He waits just long enough for the minds to become fully persuaded in the powers that they have.

>This could be the case if it is the little horn (the prince that shall come) who confirms and it is a "peace" agreement of some sort and at the same time a war pact for the purpose of destroying national Israel. There are two alternatives that I would suggest for the believer to consider as we move toward the 70th week:

1.That "the" covenant turns out to be an Islamic perversion of "the" covenant that the Lord has with Israel through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. An Islamic little horn could do this. This would be the confirmation of the promises for his followers rather than Israel. The adherants of Islam already believe that this is true today.

2.That the Lord Himself confirms the 70th week of the 70 weeks of years by executing His hour of trial at His return. The only agreement mentioned in the context of chapter 9 in the Book of Daniel is the decree of the 70 weeks of years. When He returns to begin the time of the end His confirmation of this decree would mean that He will make it happen. He will also cause Jewish worship at the temple mount to be disrupted by allowing the little horn to invade and conquer Israel at mid week. One of His primary purposes for the 70th week is to bring great pressure upon Israel so that a remnant of Israel will turn to Him. The little horn's invasion and setting up of the abomination on the temple mount will cause the remnant to flee the nation for refuge into the Eastern Jordanian wilderness through the rift valley which the Lord will create. They will be protected there from the little horn during his 42 month rule and occupation of the Land of Israel.

>It does appear to me that the actual and direct invasion of Israel will be by the sorrounding Islamic nations of the Middle East. Careful reading of Psalms 83, Ezekiel 38,39, and Zechariah 14 gives this impression. This invasion will take place just before mid week. The battle of Armageddon will take place later during the 30 day period just after the end of the 70th week, and the beast's 42 month rule, and it will be fought by the beast and his followers against the Lord.

Is Javier Solana the Antichrist?

Is Javier Solana the Antichrist? I couldn't begin to detail how much time I've spent behind the scenes responding to e-mails concerning that question, which is why I found a recent commentary on the topic written by Jack Kinsella of Omega Letter very interesting. It seems that Jack and I are in the exact same situation and that we share the same interest in making an I.D. of the Antichrist on this side of the Rapture: None. Let me explain.

In Jack's commentary, which is linked above, he notes that he hears almost daily from folks who have dedicated themselves to the proposition that Javier Solana is the antichrist. Ditto for me.

Not only does Jack find that he deals with a large volume of those holding that theory, he is immediately met with a volatile response if he chooses to disagree with their position. This is not always the case with me, but is more often than I'd prefer.

My take on the identity of the Antichrist, whether we're guessing Solana could be the Antichrist or Al Gore: We're not going to know his identity on this side of the Rapture of the Church so why worry about it? Much like people seem troubled by Jack's lack of concern as to the identity of the Antichrist in the making, some people don't take well to me holding that view.

I probably mention the name Javier Solana as much as anyone presently running an end times website. Why? For several reasons, a few of which I'll list below:

1. Javier Solana is the foreign policy chief of the revived Roman empire which we refer to as the European Union.
2. He is presently operating under EU mandate to revive the stalled Middle East peace process, which may have prophetic implications depending on his success or failure in achieving that goal.
3. Solana is presently, at least according to himself, representing us all (the West) where negotiations with Iran concerning its uranium enrichment program is concerned.
4. Solana heads the Western European Union's ten-nation military alliance, which means the office he holds could be of prophetic significance.

Given the above alone, it's hard not to suspect, on some level at least, that Javier Solana may be the Antichrist in the making. Even so, I could care less whether he actually is or isn't. The reason? I'm not looking for the Antichrist; I'm looking for Jesus Christ! By the time the Antichrist is revealed to the world, I'm going to be kicking up gold dust in the presence of my Savior! As such, the identity of the Antichrist in the making, presuming he is in the world today, is for me a curiosity at best.

Jack Kinsella wrote the following on the topic of looking for signs indicative of the advent of Antichrist:

I couldn't agree more with that statement! My sole interest in monitoring the actions of any prince of Roman descent's diplomatic activities is when I see them taking steps that could be bringing the world closer to the confirmation of a seven-year covenant of peace in the Middle East between Israel and her enemies in fulfillment of Daniel 9:27 - an event which will be preceded by the Rapture of the Church and followed by the seven-year Tribulation Period which will run concurrently with the term of the seven-year peace covenant. Why?

Because, when I see those things taking place, I am reminded that the time of my redemption is drawing closer! It tells me Jesus is coming soon!

But that hope on my part, based on the Pre-Trib Rapture doctrine, doesn't sit well with most of those dedicated to the idea that Javier Solana is the Antichrist in the making.

Unlike me, it seems a majority of those holding that opinion aren't watching for the return of Jesus Christ to come at any moment to deliver them from a world that has forgotten its God. It seems they prefer watching for the advent of the Antichrist and preparing themselves spiritually to be imprisoned in concentration camps, beheaded and the like inside the Tribulation Period.

Not only are they dedicated to preparing themselves spiritually to be carried off to the Antichrist's concentration camps to face the guillotine, they're dedicated to making me surrender my faith in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture as well, which isn't going to happen. Not today, tomorrow or ever!

"But what if you're wrong?" they often ask.

"I'm not wrong," I reply.

Then begins the ugliness and no, I'm not the one who starts it.

Invariably, in the instances I've chosen to have a dialogue with those who believe Javier Solana is the Antichrist to the point of obsession, we arrive at the date of 1-1-07 which many of those holding this viewpoint believe will mark the onset of the Tribulation Period via the confirmation of Javier Solana's European Neighbourhood Policy for another seven-year budgetary cycle of the European Union.

If 1-1-07 arrives and I'm still here, or so the theory goes, then everything I've come to believe is true concerning the Pre-Trib Rapture of the Church should be voided and I should join them in watching Javier Solana, their Antichrist candidate, take over the world.

Uh, no. That's not going to happen.

If 1-1-07 comes and no one is yelling "peace and safety!" from the rooftops of the Middle East, as seen in 1st Thessalonians 5:3, and no one is bowing at the feet of Javier Solana, nothing will have changed that would preclude the Pre-Trib Rapture from taking place as prophesied.

Is Javier Solana the Antichrist in the making? I don't know. If he is, given what he's presently doing, I expect that I'll soon be going home to be with Jesus.

If he's not, he's just another diplomat whose desire to see peace come to the Middle East has brought us closer to the day when Daniel's prophecy concerning the advent of the Antichrist will take place. Those of us who call ourselves Christians should be okay with either of these outcomes ---- and avoid bickering about it.

Our primary focus needs to be on the return of Jesus Christ our Lord, not on Javier Solana's potential to become the Antichrist.

Jesus said, as recorded in Matthew 24:42-44, "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh."

Who are those of us called Christians told to be watching for whose arrival could occur at any moment? Not Javier Solana. Not the Antichrist either.

We're to be looking for Jesus Christ!

He's going to come in such an hour as ye think not. As such, we must be in a state of constant preparation to be with Him.

Who are we told is a faithful and wise servant worthy of receiving a blessing in Matthew 24:45,46? The one whom Jesus will return to find watching for His return as He commanded!

In contrast, the one who is warned concerning the condition of his house is the servant who says that his Lord delays his coming and begins to smite his fellowservants, as seen in Matthew 24:48-50.

The Lord of that servant, according to Christ Himself, is going to "come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of." Those passages of Scripture speak volumes as to whom we are to be looking for, as well as the dangers of doing otherwise.

In closing, I'm not sure whether Javier Solana is the Antichrist in the making or not. If you believe he is and it's a focal point of your spirituality and daily life to prove that and debate everyone who doesn't share your viewpoint, you've taken your eyes off what matters most --- JESUS!

I like a good mystery as well as the next person and there are any number of people I believe could fulfill Daniel's prophecy concerning the advent of Antichrist, but the focus of RaptureAlert.com is sounding the alert that Jesus Christ is coming soon. Why?

Because the return of Christ is what's going to carry me and everyone who has placed their faith in the Lamb of God higher than we've ever dreamed possible - all the way to heaven and an eternity in the presence of the Most High. Hallelujah!

Who cares about the Antichrist? He's of no interest to me, although I have to admit I'll take a certain amount of pleasure in seeing the Lord lift him up by the scruff of his evil neck in the aftermath of His return at Armageddon.

I imagine I'm going to be dropping the name Javier Solana a lot in the months ahead, barring any dramatic developments, as he is presently a major player in issues of end times significance. Although this is true, I want to make sure everyone knows that, although I find him to be one of the most interesting diplomatic figures in the entire world, my only interest in him and the revived Roman empire he represents is what he and the EU brings to the table that may be indicative that the return of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may be drawing near! Other than that, he's of no particular interest to me.

Lastly, yes, I believe in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church and no, I don't want to debate you about that.

Like I said earlier,I do not care if Solona is or is not the anti-christ...But that I have seen enough to realize that "WE" may be raptured before the end of this year........There is in sight a 7 year confirmation coming soon in the fashion of political global magnatude...............If this is the prophecy of Daniel 9;27............"WE" will not be here to see it come to pass. We may not be here to see Isaiah 17;1 for that matter come to pass..........If the anti-christ is the leader of Iran,and his ten little vice presidents are what Daniel 7 spoke about ......I do not care who he is,Which is very very weak and grasping for straws in comparison to the political events now transpiring in the E.U..............But then again ....It is you guys who can decide if this Coming E.U./ Israeli 7 yr. agreement is that of Daniel 9;27...............The way I look at it is this; If all that is now unfolding..............Such as the coming E.U./Israeli 7 yr agreement,The Iranian nuclear crisses, The implantable chip,Arab nations aligning with russia..........If these are not the Signs,.......Then we are not the generation the the Lord described to us......................But I think we or most of us know better than that...........................So in the mean time, as long as the Lord permits, I will continue updating world events............................As it stands,.....The stage looks set, the chess pieces seem to be in place, and If I and many of us are wrong....We will find out soon enough.......................................benny
