HB,

Here are the thoughts of the Lord:

Jeremiah
Jer 30:3 For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

Jer 30:4 And these [are] the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

Jer 30:5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

Jer 30:6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is] like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Jer 30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, [that] I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

Jer 30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

Jer 30:10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make [him] afraid.

Jer 30:11 For I [am] with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

Zechariah
Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it

Zec 12:4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.

Zec 12:5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem [shall be] my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

Zec 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem

Zec 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify [themselves] against Judah.

Zec 12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David [shall be] as God, as the angel of the LORD before them

Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn

Shiite cleric: Israel will fall like Twin Towers

Muslims use day of prayer to protest Israel’s attacks on Lebanon
Associated Press

Thousands of demonstrators across the Muslim world used Friday’s Islamic day of prayer to protest Israel’s attacks on Hizbullah, urging Sunni-Shiite unity to defeat the Jewish state.

Police clashed with anti-Israeli demonstrators in Egypt, Bahrain and Indian-run Kashmir.

In Cairo, thousands of protesters waving giant posters of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Shiite group Hizbullah, gathered after Friday prayers at Al-Azhar Mosque, the most prominent Sunni Muslim institution in the Arab world. “Sunnis or Shiites (there is) no difference; all together to resist the enemy,” Sameh Ashour, head of the Arab Lawyers Union, told the crowd. “Resistance is the solution.”

'We'll defeat Israel without use of weapons'

The fighting between Israel and Hizbullah has exposed divisions across the Muslim world as leaders in some predominantly Sunni countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt have criticized Hizbullah’s actions. But many ordinary people and religious leaders - both Sunnis and Shiites - have given their support to Hizbullah because of its willingness to fight Israel.

During a fiery sermon at a Damascus mosque, one of Syria’s most prominent Sunni Islamic clerics assailed his Arab neighbors for condemning the kidnapping earlier this month of two Israeli soldiers by Hizbullah guerillas. “Our Arab people have been surprised by our Arab leaders who have ignored what is being said on the streets,” Sheik Salah Keftaro said.

Meanwhile in Iraq, radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Friday predicted Israel would collapse like New York’s Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, if Sunnis and Shiites join in their fight.

'No to Arab silence on Zionist crimes'

“I will continue defending my Shiite and Sunni brothers, and I tell them that if we unite, we will defeat Israel without the use of weapons,” Sadr said during a speech in the southern city Iraqi city of Kufa.

Under the watchful eye of security police, protesters in Cairo shouted both anti-Israel slogans and condemned Arab leaders’ reluctance to show their support for Hizbullah.

Thousands of police surrounded the protesters in Cairo, beating back some with batons when they tried to move into the streets. Police said three protesters were injured when they clashed with authorities.

Protesters in other cities also took to the streets including several thousand in Tripoli, Libya. About 2,000 angry demonstrators shouted praise for Hizbullah in downtown Amman, Jordan.

“No to the Arab silence on the Zionist crimes,” read one of the Jordanian banners.

In Manama, Bahrain, about 500 people demonstrated as close as they were allowed to the US Embassy, a frequent site of protests owing to US support of Israel. Witnesses said clashes developed when protesters threw stones at police photographers, and the police retaliated with rubber bullets and tear gas.

Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Mohammed Bin Daina said one woman was treated for tear gas inhalation, and one policeman was lightly wounded.

Bin Daina denied that police fired rubber bullets, saying they used only tear gas. Nobody was arrested. Police used batons and smoke grenades to break up hundreds of protesters who had blocked traffic in Indian-controlled Kashmir. Demonstrators in Pakistan burned Israeli and US flags, and protesters in Indonesia and Malaysia accused the Jewish state of terrorism.

Chemical weapons program well advanced
By David Isenberg

In the aftermath of the successful United States invasion of Iraq there have been several warnings by the Bush administration to Syria regarding its weapons of mass destruction (WMD), with some apparent justification.

Syria, however, does not have a nuclear weapons program. Although the Israeli and US governments have expressed concerns about Syrian nuclear weapons aspirations, there is little convincing evidence in the public realm of such an objective.

Syria signed the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in 1968 and ratified the document one year later. Its 30-kilowatt nuclear research reactor in Dayr al-Jajar, provided by China, is under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards. In 1998, the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission began discussions with Russia about expanding its nuclear infrastructure as prior negotiations with Argentina and China proved unsuccessful. In May 1999, Moscow and Damascus signed an agreement in which the former will provide at least one light water nuclear reactor, which will be subject to IAEA safeguards. At this time, Syria does not have the infrastructure nor the financial resources to pursue an indigenous nuclear weapons program.

Three years ago the US government started reporting in carefully caveated language that Syria wants to do something in the way of biological weapons (BW), ie, "It is highly probable that Syria also is developing an offensive BW capability" - but no evidence has been offered to suggest that it has produced such biological weapons.

It is important to bear in mind that there is a difference between developing and producing biological weapons. According to an October 2000 report, "Syria and Weapons of Mass Destruction" by Anthony Cordesman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, "Syria has developed biological weapons, although it is not clear that it has attempted to produce or stockpile them."

The only type of WMD that Syria definitely does have is chemical weapons. According to the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Syria is not a signatory to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), and has an extensive and advanced chemical weapons program. However, it is hardly the only country in the region not to be a CWC signatory. Others include Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and Libya. Israel has signed but not ratified it.

Syrian possession of chemical weapons is hardly new. The program goes back decades. For years, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been reporting in its in semi-annual declarations on WMD proliferation, mandated by Congress, about Syrian chemical weapons and biological weapons research. The latest declaration, released just last week and covering the first half of 2002, reported, "Syria sought chemical weapons-related precursors from various countries during the reporting period. Damascus already held a stockpile of the nerve agent sarin, but apparently is trying to develop more toxic and persistent nerve agents. Syria remained dependent on foreign sources for key elements of its CW program, including precursor chemicals and key production equipment. It is highly probable that Syria also is continuing to develop an offensive BW capability." According to US intelligence agencies, Syria is working to develop the more deadly VX nerve agent. Syria produces Scud ballistic missiles of various ranges capable of carrying chemical warheads as well as air-dropped bombs. According to the London Times, Syria tested a Scud B missile fitted with a warhead carrying VX in 1999. Other potential delivery vehicles include fighter aircraft; helicopters; artillery; short-range, anti-ship cruise missiles; short-range, air-launched tactical missiles; and rockets.

Syria's chemical weapons program dates back to the early 1970s when they first acquired materials and expertise from Egypt prior to the 1973 war against Israel. Since then, it is believed that Syria has received assistance with their chemical weapons program from Russia, India, China and various West European countries. Syria's current indigenous capabilities allow it to produce several hundred tons of chemical weapons agents per year. According to the Monterey Institute of International Studies, "Open sources assert that there are at least three Syrian facilities currently engaged in producing CW, located near Damascus, Hama and Safira village."

Curiously, there is little mention of how much chemical agent Syria actually has. There are scattered references to an ability of being able to produce hundreds of tons a year and an estimated CW stockpile of hundreds of tons. But compared to other nations, notably the United States and Russia, it is likely to be very small. Consider that in 1985, Congress mandated that the US destroy more than 98 percent of its chemical weapons stockpile. Yet of the original total of 31,496 tons there remains 24,144 tons to be destroyed.

As for biological weapons, Syria has signed but not ratified the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). Despite being a signatory to the BWC, US intelligence reports assert that Syria continues to "develop an offensive biological weapons capability". Despite its advanced biotechnical infrastructure, it is believed that Syria would need significant foreign assistance to manufacture large amounts of biological weapons.

Interestingly, a 1996 report "Proliferation: Threat and Response" by the Office of the Secretary of Defense did not mention Syria at all, although it did mention Iran, Iraq and Libya. The 1997 edition of the same report did mention Syria, and provided more detail than the boilerplate rhetoric found in CIA reports. It noted that "Syria also has vigorously pursued the development of chemical weapons and ballistic missiles, and to a lesser extent, biological weapons as a means to counter what it perceives as Israel's superior conventional forces and presumed possession of nuclear weapons. Syria believes that its chemical and missile forces act as deterrents against Israeli attacks [then-president Hafez al] Assad apparently regards his ability to inflict unacceptable damage on Israel through the use of these weapons - and the Israeli awareness of his willingness to do so under extreme circumstances - as a safeguard of the utmost importance."

In terms of chemical warfare
Syria has a long-standing chemical warfare program, first developed in the 1970s. Unlike Iran, Iraq and Libya, Syria has never employed chemical agents in a conflict. Syria has a stockpile of the nerve agent sarin and may be trying to develop advanced nerve agents as well. In future years, Syria will likely try to improve the infrastructure for producing and storing chemical agents. At this point, it probably has weaponized sarin into aerial bombs and Scud missile warheads, which gives Syria the capability to employ chemical agents against targets in Israel.

Syria remains dependent on foreign sources for key elements of its chemical warfare program, including precursor chemicals and key production equipment. Acquisition of such materials has become more difficult in recent years as a result of stricter export controls in many countries, which is coordinated through the Australia Group.

Biological weapons
Syria is pursuing the development of biological weapons. Syria probably has an adequate biotechnical infrastructure to support a small biological warfare program, although the Syrians are not believed to have begun any major weaponization or testing related to biological warfare. Without significant foreign assistance, it is unlikely that Syria could advance to the manufacture of significant amounts of biological weapons for several years. Syria has signed the BWC.

The 2001 edition of the report by the Office of the Secretary of Defense noted "the Syrians are not believed to have begun any major effort to put biological agents into weapons".

Unlike Iraq, Syria has not used chemical weapons against its own people. In fact, unlike Libya, which is generally thought to have used chemical weapons in Chad, Syria has never used chemical weapons. According to Michael Moodie, former assistant director of the US Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, "Syria's primary security concern is its military balance with Israel, and its CW capabilities must be seen in that context. Their operational utility is likely to be considered most seriously in the context of a conflict that involves Syrian efforts to retake the Golan Heights. In this case, CW may be seen as a force-multiplier for Syrian forces on the offensive that would demoralize and disorganize Israeli forces defending the territory and disrupt Israeli plans to mobilize reserves and bring to bear the power of its air force."

The one common characteristic Syria shares with Iraq in regard to its chemical weapons program is the help it received from the West in establishing it. Former CIA director William Webster told a Congressional panel in 1989 that the CIA had determined foreign assistance was of "critical importance in allowing Syria to develop its chemical warfare capability. West European firms were instrumental in supplying the required precursor chemicals and equipment. Without the provision of these key elements, Damascus would not have been able to produce chemical weapons."

Syria's principle suppliers of chemical and biological weapons production technology were large chemical brokerage houses in Holland, Switzerland, France, Austria and Germany, including many of the same companies that were supplying Iraq.

At least one German company, Schott Glasswerke, has been subjected to an official inquiry for its delivery of glass-lined reactor vessels, sarin precursors and production equipment to a suspected Syrian poison gas plant.

About 2,000 Muslims also marched through the streets of the Bangladesh’s capital of Dhaka.................................................benny cool.gif

IMHO
"broker a cease fire",,,,this is LIP SERVICE
I don't know who made the decision to release the 7/26 date, it's almost laugable.
Aren't we in the 13th day of war NOW and that would make it 17 just to talk about it!

The US (rightfully) wants to see Iran and Syria's next move. So, we are stalling on getting Condi over there.
I want to see Iran/Syria's next move too.

I had an image in my mind of Mahmoud beheading the two Israeli soldiers on world television.

I know that is outlandish, I didn't mean to think it.

But, I believe Iran is trying to stage and BAIT Israel/US/UK.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) referred Iran to the United Nations Security Council for being in breach of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty's (NPT) safeguards agreement. Teheran has responded to the referral by ending diplomacy, stopping cooperation with the IAEA and starting "industrial scale" Uranium enrichment that could produce dozens of nuclear warheads per year.

Meanwhile, Israel (and the U.S.) is making preparations to launch a military strike to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities and set the Islamic nation's nuclear pursuits back years. The prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran, led by its new, rabidly anti-semitic President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has denied the Holocaust and called for Israel to be "wiped off the map", is intolerable for the Jewish state. Iran's nuclear program constitutes an "existential threat" for Israel that, if not mitigated by international diplomacy, Jerusalem will stop with military force similar, but far larger in scope, to the 1981 air strike on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor. Iran's ending diplomacy and start of industrial-scale reprocessing of enriched uranium might be enough to trigger the threatened Israeli attack. Reportedly, in December Prime Minister Sharon ordered Israeli Defense Forces to be prepared to attack Iran by the end of March.

If Israel strikes Iran's nuclear facilities, Teheran has threatened to retaliate by, at the least, launching ballistic missiles at Israel. Presumably these missiles, unlike the SCUDs launched against Israel by Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War, will carry chemical and/or biological warheads. Iranian-backed Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon could likewise launch a barrage of missiles into northern Israel on Iran's behalf. Furthermore, Syria, which has forged a military alliance with Iran, would likely be drawn into the fray of any conflict and could launch SCUD missiles armed with weapons of mass destruction (some leftover from Iraq) against Israel as the fourth full-scale Arab/Israeli War gets underway.

Should such a conflict erupt, it is important that the world understand the true cause. In this regard, one needs to understand that the current international crisis concerning Iran's nuclear pursuits is not what it seems. There's an ulterior motive behind what's happening.

The most important reason the IAEA concluded that Iran was violating the NPT was a set of documents discovered in Teheran that could only be used for the purpose of building an atomic bomb. These documents constitute the proverbial "smoking gun" that led the IAEA to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council. But how did the IAEA get its hands on these sensitive Iranian documents?

Newsweek recently reported the following:

Then there’s the problem with the papers Iran did cough up. Last fall, after more than two years keeping the IAEA waiting, the Iranians finally produced two cardboard boxes full of papers which they allowed inspectors to examine only in an Iranian government office in Teheran. As the IAEA’s people read through the documents, they came across about 10 pages that looked suspicious, to say the least: general specifications for casting uranium metal in a spherical form that could well make up the core of an atomic bomb. In a curious arrangement, the Iranians videotaped the inspectors while they were looking at the papers, but wouldn’t allow the IAEA to make any photographs or copies. The IAEA wants to get those documents in its hands, and it wants to know what the hell they were doing in the files of Iran’s “peaceful” program to begin with. (Newsweek, "Countdown To A Showdown", Jan. 23, 2006)

The problem is, why did Iran cough up this set of documents? These "two cardboard boxes full of papers" were provided after a two year wait by the IAEA. One would think that Iranian intelligence would have carefully scrutinized each and every page that was to be handed over. They had two years to do so. Yet, there were 10 pages there about how to shape uranium metal into a spherical form, information that could only be used in building a nuclear bomb. So why were these incredibly incriminating pages handed over? It seems like Teheran intentionally provided information that directly revealed its pursuit of a nuclear bomb.

Another surprising admission by Iran is that it is has tens of thousands of centrifuges that will now be used for "industrial scale" reprocessing that can produce enough highly enriched uranium for dozens of nuclear bombs per year. The U.S. National Intelligence Assessment, a consensus view of U.S. agencies, has been that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon until 2010 at the earliest. However, there's been growing concern about Iran's secret Natanz uranium reprocessing facility. Iranian opposition sources said Teheran built centrifuges for its nuclear plant at Natanz without the knowledge of the IAEA and the European Union (EU). New construction at Natanz reportedly includes underground centrifuge cascade halls for a fuel enrichment plant designed to contain around 50,000 centrifuges. According to Paul Leventhal, president of the Washington-based Nuclear Control Institute, "If the information obtained by the Iranian opposition can be verified, then we have a major crisis on our hands." Indeed, outside specialists believe that, if the reports are correct about Natanz, then Iran is only months or a year away from having its first crude nuclear device.

Any doubts about whether Iran was assembling a massive fuel enrichment capacity were put to rest in late-January when Teheran's IAEA Ambassador, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, said that, should his nation be referred to the U.N. Security Council, Iran will start "commercial industrial scale enrichment" using "more than 50,000 centrifuge machines....with the capacity of [producing] 30 tons [of enriched uranium] per year" (of which around a ton would be highly-enriched, bomb-grade material). This point was further buttressed after the IAEA's vote on Saturday when Soltanieh told Newsweek that Iran can produce enriched uranium "by the ton". Of course, why has Iran's IAEA point person made such revealing threats? Up to when Soltanieh made his comments, there was only uncorroborated speculation by Iranian opposition sources that Iran was developing a huge enrichment capacity. By making his threats, Soltanieh exposed Teheran's secret enrichment pursuits. Such a revelation could only exacerbate Western, and more so Israeli, concerns that Iran is close to having a nuclear bomb.

Iran's nuclear program became far more alarming in the past several months because of the election of the nation's new president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has made numerous bellicose, anti-semitic remarks since taking office. Ahmadinejad's background and religious beliefs are about as disturbing as possible for Israel and the West. According to the BBC’s world affairs editor John Simpson, “Ahmadinejad was a founder of the group of young activists who swarmed over the embassy wall and held the diplomats and embassy workers hostage for 444 days”. In other words, he was one of the architects of the Iran hostage crisis from 1979 to 1981. What's worse, the Iranian leader has an apocalyptic outlook and suffers from some sort of messianic complex. He is purportedly a mahdaviat who is expecting the imminent return of Islam's 12th Imam to save the world and wishes to sow the chaos necessary for this to occur (more). In fact, there is reason to suspect Ahmadinejad thinks he is the returning Moslem saviour. Even high-level officials in Iran have told the West that the man is "certifiably insane".

So how is it that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected Iran's president in the first place? Well, the odds are he wasn't. Ahmadinejad was most likely intentionally placed in power by Iran's ruling clerics.

Consider the following. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted with "no doubt" his June election victory, months in advance, at a time when polls gave him barely 1 percent support. After the June 17th, 2005 presidential election in Iran, as the votes were still being tallied, Ahmadinejad, who had hovered at the back of the field of candidates in pre-election opinion surveys, announced hours before the Interior Ministry issued its own results that he would be in the runoff. How is it Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was so certain that he would be elected Iran's new president when all the polls indicated he was not even in the running? An obvious explanation is that the election was rigged and the "certifiably insane" candidate knew the ultimate outcome ahead of time. Indeed, even moderates in Iran who usually don't speak out declared that the election was rigged. Iran's Guardian Council, a panel controlled by hard-line clerics that has the ultimate say over all government actions, was behind the vote counting that resulted in Ahmadinejad's win. As Russian dictator Stalin so aptly put it: “The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people who count the votes do.”

But why would Iran's ruling elite want to make such an apparent madman president?

By intentionally giving the presidency to an apocalyptically-minded, anti-semitic extremist who threatened to destroy Israel after taking office and then intentionally letting the IAEA and West know that an atomic bomb is being built, apparently sooner than later, Teheran is provoking Israel and/or the U.S. into preemptively attacking. This, I would dare say, IS the intent. Iran is baiting Israel and America to take military action against its nuclear facilities. If Teheran's intention was to complete building an atomic bomb, then it should have discretely continued clandestine efforts to do so rather than announcing to the world it's capabilities and intentions such that Israel and/or the U.S. militarily eliminate the developing threat. The course that Iran has chosen to follow seems geared to provoke an attack more so than to actually complete development of a nuclear weapon.

The problem with the historical course now unfolding is that there is reason to believe it is scripted by the enemies of freedom not just in Teheran but, more importantly, Moscow. This might seem hard to believe, since Russia now appears to be a friend of the West, but alas this friendship is most likely untrue:

“War to the hilt between communism and capitalism is inevitable. Today, of course, we are not strong enough to attack. Our time will come in thirty to forty years. To win, we shall need the element of surprise. The bourgeoisie ... will have to be put to sleep. So we shall begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement on record. There will be electrifying overtures and unheard of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will rejoice to cooperate in their own destruction. They will leap at another chance to be friends. As soon as their guard is down, we will smash them with our clenched fist. ” - Dimitri Manuilski of the Lenin School for Political Warfare [1933]

When Gorbachev took power in 1985, Moscow did a sudden about face that eventually led to the seeming collapse of Communism, the breakup of the Soviet Union and a "New World Order" in which Russia and America, the two nuclear superpowers, are friends. Unfortunately, this positive turn of world events, which seemed to bring an end to the spectre of global nuclear war, was most likely deceptive:

“Comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. They are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep.” - Mikhail Gorbachev in a speech to the Soviet Politburo, November 1987

The reality is that Russia had long realized that the only way to defeat the West would be to trick America into disarming as much as possible and then launch a surprise nuclear attack. Furthermore, to gain world control after the dust settles, Russia wouldn't want to appear culpable for a global nuclear holocaust. World War Three would need to appear to be the West's fault. Hence, Moscow devised and implemented "The Perestroika Deception", a long-term plan by which the West has been lulled into a false sense of security. Russian Communism came to an end, the Soviet Union collapsed and America, history's greatest proponent of freedom and democracy, emerged as the world's sole hegemon. Misperceiving the Russian military threat, the Western powers have gradually dismantled Cold War military capabilities and the U.S. has subtantially reduced its nuclear arsenal as part of disarmament agreements signed with Moscow. Meanwhile, former Soviet puppet states, through military aggression and terrorism, have become thorns in the side of the free world drawing the U.S. and its allies into military action against nations like Serbia, Afghanistan and Iraq. American military assertiveness, in turn, has been characterized to the world as Western imperialism by our former enemy-of-old and modern leftists.

The focus of the provocations has increasingly centered on the Middle East where the long-standing Arab-Israeli conflict has been simmering and ready to explode into a superpower conflict since the state of Israel was established in 1948. Indeed, it could be that the nuclear confrontation between the U.S. and Russia during the last full-scale Arab-Israeli war in 1973, the Yom Kippur War, gave Moscow the historical precedent upon which they modeled a future scenario for triggering a global nuclear war that will end in their favor. What's more, Israel's 1981 air strike on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor, which received international condemnation, may have given Moscow an idea for the most effective way to provoke the next Arab-Israeli War in a manner that appears to be "The Jews" fault.

Hence, over the past several years, Russia has been helping Iran develop nuclear and ballistic missile technology that poses an existential threat to Israel. This includes the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant that is the primary focus of current international concern. What's more, Russia produced and launched an Iranian spy satellite that can be used to detect an Israeli preemptive military strike against Iran and will soon arm Teheran with effective defensive weaponry such that Israel is under pressure to act sooner than later. [More specifically, in December Russia agreed to sell Iran $1 billion in arms, including $700 million worth of advanced surface-to-air missiles (SAMs), the TOR-M1. The TOR-M1 would pose a deadly threat to aircraft involved in any strike against Iran's nuclear-related targets. The imminent delivery of this weapon system is pushing Israel to act sooner than later.]

Strangely, in helping Iran develop nuclear and ballistic missile weaponry, Russia is seemingly acting against its own national interests. Iran, an extremist Islamic state, has long been known as a sponsor of international terrorism. Russia, stemming from its war in Chechnya, has purportedly been a repeat victim of Islamic terrorists (although some question the true source of terrorism against Russia). Hence, it seems to make little sense that Russia is helping to provide the world's ultimate Islamic extremist state with the means by which to build and launch nuclear bombs as far as Moscow. Yet, this is how history is unfolding. Could it be that Russia doesn't feel threatened by the Islamic radicals in Teheran? If not, why? Could it be because Iran is a Russian surrogate?

(Ayatollah) Khomeini's revolutionary movement was known as "Islamic Marxism," a movement begun from within the Russian Bolshevik Party in 1916. During the 1970s, the Soviet Union mobilized its resources to organize a revolution in Iran, with Khomeini as its official leader. Khomeini's brother was serving time in prison as a member of the Tudeh Party—the Communist Party of Iran; Khomeini's intimate advisor, Sadegh Ghothzadeh, was an affiliate of the French and Italian Communist Parties. Soon the Soviets were broadcasting pro-Khomeini propaganda into Iran, while they began publishing a well-funded revolutionary magazine entitled Navid, meaning "Good News." KGB agents working among the 4,000 Soviet personnel in Iran coordinated the protests and riots, and the Tudeh Party, acting on Soviet orders, openly backed the "Islamic" revolution and created a broad coalition of the Left to support Khomeini.
Moscow also mobilized the PLO to back Khomeini. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, led by self-proclaimed Marxist Leninist George Habash, supplied training and weapons to the Feda'iyin-e Khalq, the Iranian Islamic-Marxist terrorist group that began the revolution to overthrow the Shah. Meanwhile, Yasser Arafat's Fatah organization trained and armed the Mujahedin-e Khalq, another main pillar of Khomeini's revolution, and it trained future members of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, including the Minister of the Guards later appointed by Khomeini.

Once Khomeini seized power in Iran, Arafat brought a large delegation of PLO officials into the country, where "he was formally given the Israeli consulate building and, raising the Palestinian flag over it, opened the first PLO office, also appointing a PLO 'ambassador' to Iran." The Soviet Union and Communist China have since continued to arm Iran with weapons.

Khomeini immediately created Hezballah as an international terrorist wing of the PLO-trained Revolutionary Guards. Inside Iran, Hezbellah worked closely with Iranian Communist organizations in consolidating the regime's power. The terrorist training camps in Iran have been supervised by Mostafa Chamran Savehi, a follower of Trotskyite Communism who, as a student in Berkeley, California during the 1960s, founded such Islamic-Marxist groups as Red Shi'ism and the Muslim Students' Association of America. The instructors at the Iranian terrorist camps have been Communist experts from North Korea and Syria, as well as Iranians trained by the PLO and the Communist government of Iraq. (source)

If Iran is acting on behalf of Moscow in creating an existential threat against Israel, then an incredible international deception is underway. But what would be the purpose? A possible explanation is that Iran is intentionally provoking a war with the Jewish state in order to set the stage for Russia's involvement. Moscow has a military cooperation agreement with Teheran and is a long-time ally of Syria, which has a mutual defense pact with Iran. Russian involvement in a new Arab/Israeli war, in turn, will lead to a confrontation with the U.S. since America backs Israel and now has significant forces in the region due to the War On Terror. Thus, there is the potential for a nuclear exchange, something that will come as quite a surprise, resulting in the destruction of Israel and the U.S. and bringing an end to Western world dominance. The way in which this is being done is geared to make the U.S. and Israel appear responsible for triggering the nuclear war that will result in their own demise. Thus, Russia can militarily conquer the world and not appear culpable for the associated nuclear holocaust.

On a final note, fifteen years ago I had what I believe may have been some sort of prophetic vision, a premonition that I fear could soon prove true. In early February of 1991, during the Gulf War, I saw a special report of a chemical missile attack on Israel that did not exist. (Israel went off alert the following day because there had been no Iraqi SCUD missile attacks for some time). About a week after seeing this, a friend and I heard an air-raid siren and nuclear explosion upon reading aloud the 8th chapter from the Bible's Book of Revelation - the Seventh Seal prophecy that I've long believed depicts a future global nuclear war.

As I have tried to share with others my apocalyptic vision of the future, I've been told that I suffered a hallucination. What's more, in explaining to others how my vision might prove true, I've been told that I'm suffering from paranoia. But could it be that I'm not really insane? Rather, might it be man as a species that is suffering from madness such that the world will eventually experience what I've foreseen?

Hopefully not, but time will tell...

Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema said Friday that US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will lead an international meeting of foreign ministers in Rome on July 26 to seek a Middle East cease-fire.

The meeting will bring together foreign ministers from the United States, the European Union, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan "to confront the situation in Lebanon," D'Alema said on Rai public television's national evening news broadcast.

The meeting will aim to broker a cease-fire, secure humanitarian access and find ways to stabilize the region with international forces, D'Alema said.

Iran's nuclear pursuits seem geared to provoke Israel and/or the U.S. to attack
more so than to actually build an atomic bomb.

Israel Deploys Nuclear
Weapons In Submarines
US/Israel Tighten The Noose On The Middle East
By Peter Beaumont in London and Conal Urquhart in Jerusalem
The Observer - UK
10-12-3

Israeli and American officials have admitted "collaborating" to deploy US-supplied Harpoon cruise missiles armed with "nuclear warheads" in Israel's fleet of Dolphin-class submarines, giving the Middle East's only nuclear power the ability to strike at any of its Arab neighbours.

The unprecedented disclosure came as Israel announced that states 'harbouring terrorists' are legitimate targets, responding to Syria's declaration of its right to self-defence should Israel bomb its territory again.

According to Israeli and Bush administration officials interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, the sea-launch capability gives Israel the ability to target Iran more easily should the Iranians develop their own nuclear weapons.

Although it has been long suspected that Israel bought three German diesel-electric submarines with the specific aim of arming them with nuclear cruise missiles, the admission that the two countries had collaborated in arming the fleet with a nuclear-capable weapons system is significant at a time of growing crisis between Israel and its neighbours.

According to the paper, the disclosure by two US officials is designed to discourage Israel's enemies from against launching an attack amid rapidly escalating tensions in the region following a raid by Israeli jets on an alleged terrorist training camp near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In a clear echo of the Bush doctrine of pre-emption, the Foreign Ministry's senior spokesman, Gideon Meir, insisted: 'Israel views every state that is harbouring terrorist organisations and the leaders of those terrorist organisations who are attacking innocent citizens of the state of Israel as legitimate targets out of self defence.'

The disclosure, is certain to complicate UN-led efforts to persuade Iran to make a full disclosure of its nuclear programme. It will also complicate the Bush administration's efforts to reach out to moderate Arab states when they are pressing for an equal disclosure of Israel's nuclear weapons programme.

Although Israel has long been known to possess nuclear weapons, in the past it has abided by a deal struck with President Richard Nixon in 1969 that it would maintain 'ambiguity' about its retention of weapons in exchange for the US turning a blind eye. According to reliable estimates, Israel has around 200 nuclear warheads.

It acquired the three Dolphin class submarines, which can remain at sea for a month, in the late Nineties. They are equipped with six torpedo tubes suitable for the 21-inch torpedoes that are normally used on most submarines.

It had been understood they would carry a version of the 'Popeye Turbo' cruise missiles being developed by Rafael Armament Development Authority of Israel.

Israel's seaborne nuclear doctrine is designed to place one submarine in the Persian Gulf, the other in the Mediterranean, with a third on standby. Secret test launches of the cruise missile systems were understood to have been undertaken in May 2000 when Israel carried out tests in the Indian Ocean.

'We tolerate nuclear weapons in Israel for the same reason we tolerate them in Britain and France,' one of the LA Times' sources told the paper. 'We don't regard Israel as a threat.'

Despite the anonymity of the source, the sentiment is almost identical to that of the US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control, John Bolton, who told British journalists last week that America was not interested in taking Israel to task for its continuing development of nuclear weapons because it was not a 'threat' to the United States.

Humble Bob
This is an escalation and it's going to get hotter. The Bush Administration is responding too slowly...

Also, according to some of the Jewish, they believe according to the Talmud, they are in exile and are forbidden to have their own state.

It is because they did not keep the laws of the Torah in the first Covenant

Is this true? Can anyone explain why or what was done?
Stephen
HB,

Let the Bible speak:

Eze 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which [was] full of bones,

Eze 37:2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, [there were] very many in the open valley; and, lo, [they were] very dry.

Eze 37:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

Eze 37:4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

Eze 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

Eze 37:6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

Eze 37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Eze 37:8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but [there was] no breath in them.

Eze 37:9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Eze 37:10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Eze 37:11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Eze 37:13 And ye shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

Eze 37:14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken [it], and performed [it], saith the LORD.

Eze 37:15 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

Eze 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and [for] all the house of Israel his companions:

Eze 37:17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

Eze 37:18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou [meanest] by these?

Eze 37:19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which [is] in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, [even] with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

Eze 37:20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

Eze 37:21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

Eze 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

Eze 37:23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

Eze 37:24 And David my servant [shall be] king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

Eze 37:25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever.

Eze 37:26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

Eze 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Eze 37:28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Humble Bob
There is a warning in me to tread carefully for I am ignorant before the Lord on this matter. I pray O'Lord to save me an ignorant man and entrust in his perfect plan for all things.

What is happening out there is not for good tithings. I too pray the Lord to come quickly but this is his warning to say destruction comes first before the day of the Lord. Though he comes as a thief he is NOT the thief to bring this evil.

I pray for the people of Israel and for the people of Lebanon. I pray not for nations but for the people that God loves.

Peace may not come after all. sad.gif

Dear Friends ?

I wonder how many have enough spiritual understanding of the Word of
God to see
how Israel bombing Lebanon is now setting the world up to blame
world war 3 on
the Jews? How many sceens are shown of the hundreds of thousands of
Israelis who
have had to remain in bomb shelters in all of northern Israel now
for 10 days?
How many have thought what that could be like?

If people can not accept the Islamic religion is demonic, even the
apostate and
heathen should be able to say the Islamic world view represents a
damaged mind
as a result of Islam's psychotic religious hatred of Jews AND real
Christians -
people of the Book as the immams call us, and not authentically
humans as the
pope calls us.

Lord willing, the next GJiGT list update, which we hope to be able
to get out
today, will tell you what is going on here in CYPRUS. The ONLY FIRST
STOP for
ANYONE trying to get out of the war zone in Lebanon is Cyprus. Most
of you know
that Cyprus, in the Bible, is most often called Chittim. Lord
willing, we will
begin a series with the title REPORT FROM CYPRUS, because it is NOW
a very
important and certainly under reported, and wrongly reported,
developing BIG
story. Perhaps that is part of the reason why we were SENT here to
Cyprus 5
years ago, for such a time sas this.

The reality is that a war is now being waged upon Israel by Iran,
through a part of Iran's army referred to as Hezbollah. Iran's
Hezbollah army in Lebanon has been funded, and armed by Iran, and
logistically supported by Syria, for many years. Jews are being shot
with hundreds and even potentially thousands of Iranian purchased
Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, and North Korean missiles.

The nations supplying the missiles, and equipment to kill the people
of Israel, have to be identified as enemies. The God of Israel did
so identify them as Gog-Megog, a Russian led Islamic confederacy.
The nations of Gog-Megog are at war with Israel. The first thing
that MUST be done if a nation is in a war, if it wants to win the
war, is to identify the enemy. The mission of the army of any nation
under attack, is to gain freedom of their nation from being under
attack by FULL unrestricted and unrestrained use of ANY and ALL
Military means. Israel has failed to identify the enemy, and the
treacherous dealers of the Peres government are responsible for
Israel's REENGAGEMENT WAR, certainly leading to the pre-millennial
Gog-Megog war.

There is talk about the Hamas and the Hezbollah, but the talk about
Iran-Syria from the PERES Olmert government is only incidental.
Israel's response is not a war but a series of surgical strikes,
highly restrained, limited response to the war. The restrictions of
the PERES government upon the IDF military would seem only purposed
to save the government of Lebanon.

Failed policy is not the right words for the PERES government
bringing this REENGAGEMENT war, leading to the Gog-Megog war.
MADNESS is not even the right word in fact. The word is TREASON, as
we shall all see soon enough. Indeed NOW FINALLY the majority of the
real Jews, Druze, and real Christians, and yes even rational Arabs
in Israel now understand. It is time for the four horns of the PERES
government to be FRAYED. Will the FOUR FRAYING CARPENTERS please
stand up with sledge hammers, crow bars, and wrecking bars in hand?
This is the time for some men of courage and strength to stop the
treason and corruption and abominationS NOW being done in Jerusalem.

It may seem impossible for the people of Israel to learn from their
past, but it is not. The RE-ENGAGEMENT war brings stark reality that
the PERES policies are not stupidity, they are TREASON. The PERES
government policies through all four horns has been damage,
destruction, and death for the Jews, and toleration, rewards,
exaltation and a licenses to kill and destroy for the Islamic
terrorists, certainly to lead to the Gog-Megog war. War is good
business for the international banksters.

The prophet of Israel, Isaiah, said it so well in chapter twenty
eight ? Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that
rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We
have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement;
when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come
unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have
we hid ourselves: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay
in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner
stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the
plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the
waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death
shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand;
when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be
trodden down by it.

From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by
morning sha
