Phone Records To Be Saved Across EU

BIG BROTHER WILL BE WATCHING.....
European lawmakers have voted to allow police greater access to telephone and internet data in an effort to help fight terrorism and serious crime.The measures would oblige businesses to keep data for at least six months.Information would include who people spoke to, where and when, and would apply to land telephone lines and mobile phones, text messages and the internet.
The content of messages and internet sessions will not be stored.
The vote is a major success for Britain, the current EU president, as it had pledged to try to force the measures through all the bloc's institutions before its turn at the helm ends on December 31.
Home Secretary Charles Clarke had made securing a deal on telecoms data a priority during his chairmanship of the EU's justice and home affairs council, part of the presidency.
He has argued that the information is crucial to police investigations and played a vital role in police investigations into the London and Madrid bombings.

CC, you are right on with the 10 member EU.... interesting thing is how I see Javior Solano worming his way in to the middle east peace process. In the end-times the A/C will:

Biometry and electronic ID card : Big Brother is watching you
The British government wishes to mark of its seal the presidency of the European
Union: it intends to make compulsory the biometric recording information on the
population of all the Member States (cf. Drafts Conclusions of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States on common minimum security standards for Members States' national identity cards1). During the meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council of the EU, which will be held on December the 1st and 2nd, the British presidency intends to impose the inclusion of two fingerprints and a R.F.ID chip in electronic ID cards.
This is an intolerable attack on fundamental human rights and freedoms : the fights
against terrorism, irregular immigration and false document traffic should not be done to the detriment of fundamental rights.
The use of new technologies allow the development of several new security systems, some of which have recourse to biometric data. These systems can identify, on real time, a person by measuring one's physical characteristics. The European project plans to insert biometric data in the new ID card (INES, secure electronic national identity card) and more precisely fingerprints. This card will combine several functionalities, such as identification and electronic signature.
The implementation of biometric measures raises fundamental issues and further
thoughts will be needed, based on analysis, expertise and relevant statistics. Even if there are currently few studies available, all of them raise several issues and confirm that it is not an infallible system2.
In fact, the reliability of biometric system is currently not guaranteed. Japanese
researchers have given the proof that real "false" fingerprints can be reproduced on latex finger. This experiment has deluded eleven of the fifteen tested biometric system3. As a consequence, a person could be registered and due to an error could be denied the access to an airport or a website ! In this hypothesis, another problem raises : who will be in charge of the identity’s evidence ? It will probably falls to the citizen. But it is hard – probably impossible - to give the evidence that you are the person that you assert to be, and that even more in a society where the citizens' identity is more and more defined by government’ standards
(driving licence, health card, birth certificate…).
There are also grounds for contestation concerning the scheduled biometric data's
medium : a card with a R.F.ID (Radio Frequency Identification). This chip, powered by the radio signal without any contact needed, allows an identity
control at any time and in every place through any medium (except metal ones) without the holder's knowing. Whereas these controls can currently be made only in certain conditions, this R.F.ID chip will make them a commonplace !
Moreover, with the radio waves' emission, there are risks of unjustified chip reading and data interceptions as well, and that regardless of the right to respect for private life and personal data protection.
Finally, as the R.F.ID chip allows tailing people even if the aim of such a system is
neither to spy on people nor to watch closely their gestures, the potential drift is a real danger. Such a system will allow to track ways of live, consumption habits, daily trips of each person…

scorns fundamental rights and freedoms, bases of our democracy. Biometry tends to establish a reified and intangible identity and one could hardly elude it. Whereas the social contract is based on the presumption of mutual reliance and on the respect of individual liberties, the ever more spread use of biometric data and the way in which it has become a feature of every day life relegate each person to a status of suspect and reinforce widely the States ascendancy over the citizens.
That is why the European Association for Human Rights (AEDH) rises up against the
total lack of democratic debate concerning this project. I was just with the family down to Disney and they are already using this two finger ID verification. My wife and I had accidently traded the tickets that we were using and the person at the gate told my wife to write her name on her ticket. They already knew what had happened.
I firmly believe that this is a preview of the control that the antichrist is working for. He wants to know who would be with him and who would be against him. All those against him would be labeled terrorist and rounded up and vanish!

There was an article about all the monitoring they are doing in Europe. Seems like the EU is testing this in Europe and you guys are the guinea pigs of it all. Knowing that the U.S would freak out more about this because of the predominancy of Christians in our nation. However that is declining!

Japanese company NEC has developed a lightweight, flexible battery that is less than a millimetre thick and can be recharged in half a minute.
The new battery technology is expected to be married to radio tags
It is called the Organic Radical Battery (ORB) and is based on a type of plastic that exists in a gel state.
The gel allows the battery to be extremely pliant, with a thickness of 300 microns.
ORBs could eventually be embedded into devices such as smart cards, wearable computers and intelligent paper.
Currently the battery, when in card form, can be recharged with a card reader device in 30 seconds.
The absence of harmful chemicals typically used in rechargeable batteries also makes it quite environmentally friendly, according to NEC.

The ORB has huge potential when combined with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags - tiny microchips that hold unique identifier information attached to a small antenna.
RFID tags are now finding wide use to keep track of items in the business supply chain - from the manufacturing floor to the retail outlet.
If you can create a 'smart active label' - a thin label that broadcasts a signal as opposed to passively reflecting back energy from the reader - you could solve many of the readability problems people are struggling with now

"Active" tags on the other hand can transmit signals and can be read at greater distances but are larger and more expensive since they need a power source.

"You could potentially put one of these labels on a case of coke in the middle of a pallet of coke and read it. That is not possible with passive tags because the energy from the reader is blocked by the metal."
Public acceptance
While active tags do offer the benefit of being read over greater distances, there are health concerns arising from questions about transmission frequency.
"With a passive tag, the transmissions are limited as the only signal comes from a transmitter/receiver and tend to be spasmodic," said Roger Lewis, editor of RFID Today.
Power is a big issue for RFID
"The public perception for passive tags is bad enough but with an active tag, it would most likely be felt that the transmission could be potentially more continual. Plus with a power source close to the person, opinion could be against the tags.
"Most of these perceptions are erroneous but they are real public perceptions that can undermine a product.
"As an example, the Department of Trade and Industry was asked by a man in Devon that if he bought products from Tesco, if Tesco could know in which room of his house he used them? Of course this is totally wrong and few tags are used to product level, but these are just the sort of problems facing RFID.
"Active tags could be more appropriate when affixed to permanent fixtures, like shipping containers, taxis, etc; that are read frequently."
Distant track
Mr Roberti added: "There are many other potential applications, such as tracking assets over a longer read range.
"With a battery, a credit-card-sized tag might be read from 300ft. Without a battery, a tag might be read from 15ft.
"So, you could use these inexpensive battery powered labels to track wheel chairs in hospitals or tools in factories or many other assets that need to be read from farther than 15ft away."
NEC has not talked about costs at this point, but says they will continue to work on the stability and the expansion of battery life towards possible commercialisation in the future.

"You could potentially put one of these labels on a case of coke in the middle of a pallet of coke and read it. That is not possible with passive tags because the energy from the reader is blocked by the metal."
Public acceptance
While active tags do offer the benefit of being read over greater distances, there are health concerns arising from questions about transmission frequency.
"With a passive tag, the transmissions are limited as the only signal comes from a transmitter/receiver and tend to be spasmodic," said Roger Lewis, editor of RFID Today.
Power is a big issue for RFID
"The public perception for passive tags is bad enough but with an active tag, it would most likely be felt that the transmission could be potentially more continual. Plus with a power source close to the person, opinion could be against the tags.
"Most of these perceptions are erroneous but they are real public perceptions that can undermine a product.
"As an example, the Department of Trade and Industry was asked by a man in Devon that if he bought products from Tesco, if Tesco could know in which room of his house he used them? Of course this is totally wrong and few tags are used to product level, but these are just the sort of problems facing RFID.
"Active tags could be more appropriate when affixed to permanent fixtures, like shipping containers, taxis, etc; that are read frequently."
Distant track
Mr Roberti added: "There are many other potential applications, such as tracking assets over a longer read range.
"With a battery, a credit-card-sized tag might be read from 300ft. Without a battery, a tag might be read from 15ft.
"So, you could use these inexpensive battery powered labels to track wheel chairs in hospitals or tools in factories or many other assets that need to be read from farther than 15ft away."
NEC has not talked about costs at this point, but says they will continue to work on the stability and the expansion of battery life towards possible commercialisation in the future.

There seems to be an escalation in developing these sorts of technologies, as though there seems to be a deadline set by someone or something?
I really think that those in power have set a pricetag or a hefty monatry incentive for the first company to come up with foolproof technology to enable the mark of beast to be realised.

I was watch a show on tv just the other day showing how these huge cargo boats get unloaded by robot cranes that know where the crates are supposed to go because they are coded with these RFID devices. They get stored in an area with those coded similarly and then when a ship comes in that is scheduled for where the crate has to go, these robot cranes go and get them and put them on the right boat.
Also trucks and buses that travel frequently on the same toll roads have similar RFID tags that record there passing. Then they just get a bill in the mail.
I don't know how big these devices are, but the idea has been around for awhile.
The ID chips that they put in pets that can be read and the owners notified are the next generation of RFID. All that is need is for the power to arrive that can force people to be marked!!
