European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso is saying "further expansion of the 25-member European Union would help the bloc compete with emerging powers like China."
The article quotes Barroso as saying, in Unica, a magazine supplement of a weekly Portuguese newspaper called Expresso, the following: "I think Europe is not big enough the way it is. Anyone who looks at China understands why." He also is quoted as saying, "Sometimes I say Europe needs a more realistic dimension, that is to say a bigger one, because we are in the 21st century and the big challenge is globalization."
Bible prophecy tells us the revived Roman empire presently rising before our eyes in the form of the European Union is going to get bigger and bigger and bigger, as seen in Daniel 7:23:
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Like a metastasizing cancer, the EU is spreading larger and larger, devouring everything in its path, ever so subtly becoming the Beast government the prophesied Antichrist will someday take the helm of.
Isn't it interesting to see how true the words of the prophet Daniel ring when compared to the news story linked above?
How can the world not see what is so plainly being presented to us today as evidence that there is but one true God - one who knows the end from the beginning, as seen in Isaiah 46:9-10, and everything between the two as well!
How can anyone doubt the prophetic Word of God is true when it predicts so vividly what we're presently seeing taking place in the world around us today?
The Bible tells us a revived Roman empire is going to devour the whole earth, tread it down, and break it in pieces and we see, right now, a leader from the European Union - a 25-nation bloc comprised primarily of members of the old Roman empire - saying Europe needs to be bigger than it presently is to compete with China - a nation that figures to play largely in the future battle of Armageddon!
Revelation 16:12 speaks of the Euphrates River being dried up in the Tribulation Period to come that the "way of the kings of the east might be prepared." China will almost certainly be among the kings of the east who will march across a dried Euphrates toward Jerusalem and the battle of Armageddon where the forces of Antichrist will be stationed for battle.
In closing, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso is saying a bigger EU Beast is needed. The prophet Daniel tells us a bigger Beast is coming - one which will be dreadful, terrible, and exceedingly strong (Daniel 7:7).
Everything is proceeding precisely as prophesied, proof positive that our God is alive, on the throne, and in control!
