we see the dual part harvest in revelation 5 and 7 that climaxes with the post tribulation return of Christ.
So what we see in summary is a two part harvest taking place. Revelation 5 I believe represents the first part or the harvest of the former years, included are all saints from Adam to the last saint that dies before tribulation commences. Then we see the harvest of the latter years which starts after the tribulation with martyrs and reaches a climax with the rapture at the end of the Great Tribulation. For such God tells us in Revelaition 7 that a number of saints that no man could number, and that these came out of the Great tribulation. This scene we see is not the rapture, these are martyrs, whos soles are seen in heaven. They have not returned to earth yet to receive their resurrected, glorified bodies yet.
Charlie -- A two part harvest? Harvest is spoken of once in Revelations, the harvest of Rev. 14:14-16.
The Rev.14:14-16 harvest, I think, will take the remnant of every nation who are to enter the millennium in their natural state and repopulate the earth during the 1,000 years to the four winds of heaven before the wrath of God comes on the earth.
They will, I think, be the elect of Matt.24:31 who will be gathered together from the four winds of heaven at the start of the 1,000 years.
Rev.5 introduces the book which no man could open; the Lamb who will open the book and what those who have been resurrected/raptured and given incorruptible bodies will proclaim when the Lamb takes the book: "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."
Rev.7 tells us of the 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel who will be sealed at the start of Daniel's 70th week and who will witness to the Israelites, and the world, during that week.
At the end of that week, Rev. 14:1-5, they will be seen on Mt.Zion. They will be redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and the Lamb.
The great multitude of Rev.7:14 will live and die during the time of Jacob's trouble, that will be a time of great tribulation for the Jews, the second half of the 7 years while the gentiles tread down the city and the sanctuary for 42 months, Rev.11:2.
However, there will be a greater tribulation spoken of. The great tribulation of Matt.24:21,
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. That will be the great tribulation spoken of in Rev.2:22 and will be the time of the 'wrath of God', of Rev.15 & 16. That will a time of such great tribulation that, if the days during which the effects of the pouring out of the vials is being felt on the earth were not shortened, no flesh, flesh of animals, fish or fowl, would be saved but we are told
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Just as Noah picked out animals to enter the ark, God will pick out, will 'elect' animals, fish and fowl to repopulate the earth, the sky and seas during the 1,000 years.
As I see it.
God Bless you. Charlie.
