There before me was a door standing open in heaven
These words I write belong to all, but not all will now accept the
If not now, then, yes, it is certain for another time.
These words will stir the hearts of those to whom they now belong
to recollection and remembrance.
Recall then the message of the ages.
This message that brought such great rejoicing
and so great a trial of patient endurance.
Its promise sealed in death by all who faithfully held it fast.
The word of hope promised to the fathers
in which we are now called to stand in its very present fulfillment,
for the wedding of the Lamb has come
and his bride has made herself ready.
~
I will wait for that one
in whose heart she speaks,
"I will go", for her I will wait
For that one who is willing
to make the journey
and close the distance,
only her will I take
The blessings' promise of fullness awaits
and we need not fear that the wildness is great
For in our dread darkness those wind~kindled flames
will assure our hearts that we still bear the name
So arise now my love
Come away, away!
Let that wind bear this word
and this word your heart sway
I will wait
For I long to take you to me
to fulfill our sojourn, calling all then to see
Coming up from that wildness
one loved and leaning
Two hearts, both willing
now made one in believing
~
"Is it time? Is it time?"
Be still, it is not for you to know
Nor are the risings to the settings
of the virgin sun to show
The time will come when its course has run
as that greater light withheld from none
Through exuding joy to brandished broodings
with a glance she sets, at first eluding
For a time, for a time
her absence deepens longing
The dark of night grows slow with light
to greet her lifes' pure rising
It is time, now time
attend to her approaching
How short a space that length to wait
now seems with graces' broaching
~
Arise now maid of honor, the call to you has come
That voice long waited for now heard
your heart knows well the sum
Be still O man of honor, and hear her steps draw near
At last her eyes to yours will seal
the love that slays all fear
Up from the low and hidden place
be led by this unchanging grace
Maid take your stand, this man's right hand
enjoined by heavens' pure command
True man and maid of honor, God's word has come to you
He will take in hand your faithful stand
and form His man to rule
All hosts of heaven and earth give ear
in longing for his drawing near
Their Prince will lead them like a flock
by still waters 'neath the sheltering rock
True man and maid of honor, such grace to you outpoured
Both offered up to drink this cup
God's will by both adorned
True man of honor and glory, God's son out from these two
The cup they drank, you drink with the wine
of all things now made new
~
Oh, these words sounding in my ears
so strangely and wonderfully familiar
Another time, another place ~ long, long ago
Yes! I have heard these words before
and I have come because of them
I know I remember
the one who spoke these then
This one
now awakened from deep slumber
giving voice to them again
blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy
and blessed are those who hear and take to heart what is written
because the time is near
the bride belongs to the bridegroom
