The majority of the Christian community eagerly awaits the signing of some form of 7 year treaty by Israel. Whoever backs this treaty will instantly be labeled "antichrist", and the Kingdom He rules over, that "revived Roman empire". But I have a question.....WHY?????
Why are we even Looking for this event to happen??? Did Jesus instruct us to do so? Lets take a look at what Jesus told us to look for.
QUOTE
Matthew 24:4 Take heed that no man decieve you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall decieve many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, BUT THE END IS NOT YET. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS. THENthey shall deliver you up to be afflicted, AND SHALL KILL YOU: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake. AND THEN SHALL MANY BE OFFENDED and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. and many false prophets shall rise, and shall decieve many..
I could go on, but If I do, nowhere do I see some form of "treaty" or "agreement" needed to be signed to begin the pivital point that starts the time of the end of the age. If this event was so important in defining what begins the final time period, don't you think Jesus would of Mentioned it?? But, He doesn't!!
There ARE certian events Jesus told us to look for, He also gave us a warning..."the end is not yet". The sign we are truly Looking for is the "wars and rumors of Wars, but the end is not yet." That is to say, there is going to be certian events that occur that will appear to be the end, and you will witness many being decieved because of it, but the end is not yet. This is what Jesus told us to Look for!!

I've heard the majority of the Jewish community of 2000 years ago

was eagerly awaiting a Messiah who would kick Roman butt and

cause Israel to be the ruling nation in the world.

The Christian community should be eagerly awaiting the day

the world is amazed to behold the final "beast" as per Rev 13.

Its a wonderful time to be alive on planet earth.

Our generation will face the "beast",

therefore we can aspire to "reign with Christ"
as per Rev 20:4-6

and that is wonderful!

Seeing prophecy fulfillment will/should strengthen the beholders faith.

Another major prophecy fulfillment our generation can expect to see

is the attack on Israel launched by the power to the "remote North"

as per Ezekiel 38-39.

Correct!! Just as it was Under Rome, the Jewish state will be Looking for their deliverer, When the War of Ezekiel 38 Plays out. The Lord does divinely intervine, but unfortunately, they will give this credit to the false messiah, thinking it was Him who done it!! To the unknowing Christian, this will be viewed and accepted AS ARMAGEDDON!

Joshleet,

My response: Do you truly want an answer, or are you looking for an argument?

For the readers:

There is no "piece treaty" coming between Israel and the Islamics

The covenant confirmed in the context of Daniel 9 is the 70 weeks of years decreed for national Israel

The Lord is the confirmer here and He will bring the last 7'

There will be no covert "peace treaty" on the earth at all

The 70th week is not framed by some sort of a 7 year "peace treaty"

The Lord will confirm the last 7' by carrying it out as part of His end time process

The other prince and his followers will successfully invade Israel at midweek

He will then occupy the land, Jerusalem, and the temple mount for 42 months before the Lord draws him to Armageddon at the end of the period

This period of the last 7' will start suddenly and withour warning just as the scriptures tell

The same time frame that begins the Day of the Lord .... the tribulation period of His coming judgment

In "BIBLE STUDIES"/"BIBLE TYPES AND PATTERNS"/"who is "Mystery Babylon"

a difference of opinion has emerged.

Has the coming of Jesus in power as per Rev 19 already happened,

OR is this event to be expected in the future ?

Is Satan currently locked up as per Rev 20,

OR will Satan be locked up in the future?

Has the 1000 year reign of Christ as per Rev 20 already commenced,

OR will it occur in the future?

I earnestly solicit Christian input.

Hello John Prewett,

Yes, these are all future, yet to be fulfilled events.

Neither... What I am trying to do, is to expand one's understanding of end time events....to look up that "prophecy mountain" from a different perspective, which can be done without compromising the word of God.
I know todays popular teaching embraces the supposed "Seven year treay", which alledgedly begins the 70th week, But Jesus told us never to look for this, did he? Let me paint you a different portrait of end time events that I see being played out. I can establish this with scripture.
Israel is going to continue to have problems with their Islamic neigbhors. There is going to be another war in the near future, that will bring on the Destruction of Damascus. Israel will be victrious in this war, and backed by America, will sign some form of Treaty. Why? Because that is what is usually done after a war. ISraels immediate neigbhors agree to this treaty, which will include a final solution to Jerusalem. The Jews will be able to rebuild their temple. They will share the temple mount. This will infuriate the rest of the Islamic world. They know however, before they can "take out Israel", they have to deal with the "great satan", America. The treaty will hold dor Oh, Say, 3 1/2 years, when a massive sneak attack on America occurs by the Islamic world. This is stage One. After America is neutralized, They turn their sights on The Land of Israel. The Islamic World, with Russia's Backing, attack. They have been infuriated with the rebuilding of the temple. But so is the Lord, because they Just totally rejected what Jesus had done on the cross. They restarted the sacrifices. The islamic World invades to not only destroy Israel, but to stopp the sacrifices. What we have Just witnessed was the climax of the 'birthpains" Jesus talked about, but the end is not Yet.
At the climax of the Ezekiel 38 war, the Lord intervines, and destroys the invading army, after he is done with them doing His will (stopping the sacrifices). The Lord has somehow supernaturally revealed Himself to the entire world at the climax of this event. This is however, not when he will return and rule. Now, what we have just witnessed is a seven year period, that msot will accept as full prophetic fulfillment. A treaty was signed...The "antichrists" Kingdom was destroyed (America) and we have witnessed a climactic battle in Israel over the Temple. The Stage is now set for the return of the real Messiah, Right??? BIG WRONG!!!!! The stage in now set for the reign of the False messiah!!!!!
At this point in time, the Church will view a seven year period in recent History, they will accept as full prophetic fulfillment. They will truly think they have entered into the Day of the Lord. The Antichrist is accepted as "God", The returned messiah!!
The false messiah, will be accepted as the real. He will set up His promised "1000 year reign on earth. he will give what is left of the church, what they crave!! POwer. Power to rule and reign with Him. He will seperate the "sheep" from the Goats", and only those who accept Him as the messiah, will be worthy to enter into his Kingdom. he will divide the land for gain, and Give it anyone who will worship Him As God. HIs hordes of fallen angels have gone forth and began persecuting all who DON'T have the seal of God on their foreheads. He will cause all small and great rich and poor, to recieve His "mark" so when he passes judgement on the unbelieving world, no harm will come to you. The world, and Many decieved Christinas will run to him with open arms, thinking they Just swore allegience with the Lord. Little do they Know!!!
Jesus stated, that He Will come in an hour that you "think not". Absolutely no one will be Looking for his return, Why should they/ He has returned already!!! DUH!!! They will be eating and drinking, marrying and given in Marriage, because they Just married the wrong bridegroom. They have just entered into a marriage supper.... One that will damn their souls to Hell!!!!!!
The true 70th week of daniel , consists of 3 1/2 years of Birthpains, wars and rumors of wars, but the end is not yet.(matthew 24:5-8) All these are the beginning of Sorrows. You will be killed for your faith in Jesus Christ by the Islamic World(matthew 24:9). If you survive through this, you will be betrayed by other "christians", if you do not accept Him as the returned Messiah. (Matt;24:10-11). At the end of His 3 1/2 year reign, which is also the end of the 70th week, the abomination of desolation occurs (matt. 24:14-15) It is after this the wrath of God is poured out (matt. 24:29).
John Prewett
Numbers 13-14 tell of Moses sending spies into the promised land.

10 spies came back telling of the size of the inhabitants of the land.
10 spies made the people fearful.

2 came back telling of how good and fertile the land was.
2 spies emphasized the great opportunity God had given them.

10 spies got God's disapproval.
2 spies got God's blessing.

The Revelation enables us to "spy out" the future.

Some "spys" will emphasize how "terrible" it will be when the "beast" reigns.
Thier cry is "oh Lord, get us out of here, "rapture" us before these terrible
"beast" hurt your precious darling children."

Other spies will focus on the EXCEEDINGLY WONDERFUL
opportunity and promise the Revelation lays before us.

TO REIGN WITH CHRIST !!

thats as good as it gets ! [for those who are

"victorious OVER the beast".

saints plainly here on earth during the reign of the beast]

Rev 20:4
Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them
And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded
because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and
those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and
had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and
they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

5 The rest of the dead did not come to life
until the thousand years were completed.
This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection;
over these the second death has no power,
but they will be priests of God and of Christ and
will reign with Him for a thousand years.
