Cartoon Ridicules Palin's Faith

The Washington Post Web site features a political cartoon that mocks Gov. Sarah Palin's faith.

Cartoonist Pat Oliphant takes aim at Palin's Pentecostal beliefs, portraying the vice presidential candidate as speaking gibberish that is incomprehensible even to God.

Kristen Fyfe, a senior writer at the Media Research Center, said this is just the latest evidence of the liberal media bias.

“They are really trying to find just about anything that they can to throw at her to make her seem unappealing or take the bloom off of the rose," she told Family News in Focus.

Washington Post ombudsman Deborah Howell conceded the cartoon was overdoing it and "readers were right to complain."

Tom Minnery, senior vice president for government and public policy at Focus on the Family Action, weighed in during today's Election Video Update.

"If this very repugnant cartoon gets wide play," he said, "it will boost Sarah Palin's popularity, strictly because of the backlash."

I cant stand when I come across this kind of trash, nor do we have to put up with it either!

Forgive them.
They have nothing but bitterness to throw,
even the vinegar was once WINE.

Who wants to bid on a bottle of Chareau-Neuf-du-Pape 1987?
It was an excellent year and I have one bottle to share.

These attacks on Palin will backfire and the liberals will have to pay a price, that price will cost them votes. Presently American people are very angry with an incompetent federal government and corrupt and greedy business people that are driving our economy in a tailspin. I really don't think many people are paying attention to these small minded attacks on someones religion.

If this was on another religion, like muslims or, so on....that person might be punished for it, but it is really ok to mass with ours.

And oh, I am of the of the thought that this was blasphamy, so I think they have a much bigger matter on their plate now to deal with, than little old me!

Your absolutely right in all accounts. If a cartoon was made ridiculing the Muslim religion than it would be called a hate crime that could be persecuted. Just trying to come to terms with all the bad stuff happening in America today. My mind is whirling. Peacemaker, read IAMLIVES thread under interpreted dreams and tell us what you think. Good thread. I just never considered that Palin could be something she wasn't. I think we all need to pray for Sarah Palin. I think she is a good person with a good heart who might really need our prayers.

Gods Blessings,

Ok....I well tell you first I like her! But that is just who I am, my personality goes to those that are positive, hard working and so on....

I dont know if I could be of any help, but I will go and read and pray befor I answer, it might take a little time, for I feel slow at this!

We sould pray for each and everyone of our leaders, but remember G-d is always incontrol, so I she gets in office, she is ment to be there. G-d is the ones to do this, even though we feel we must have some hand in it, it wasnt our hand, but G-ds!
