Subject: Re: Houston area about to burn

Everytime I try to give details, the letter "disappears," so all I can say is that the Lord is trying to get people out of Houston as fast as He can, but few will listen. My husband just got transferred further north and other friends who do listen are also miraculously getting jobs in North East Texas, etc. ,Basically HE has showed us (with many confirmations) to be out of Houston by middle of August because there will be a huge hurricane and it will knock over chemical and oil plants to the extent that it will be worse than a nuclear bomb. Don't worry about selling your property, just get lots of insurance because by mid Sept. there will be no jobs.. so just find any job you can and get relocated now. ,Hint, don't go to Dallas, it will be a madhouse or any other huge city. HOUSTON

City by the sea, manifesting idolatry to all manner of money and ancient gods, will I not manifest My love to those I love, and judgment to those who disdain ME ? Do you really care for one another ? Will you really lay down your lives for your brother ? I ask you to repent from your idolatry and turn quickly to ME, for greater wind storms are coming, and they will not turn away as before unless you REPENT of your idol worship. REACH OUT TO THE POOR. REACH OUT TO THOSE who don't have what you have oh rich and mi ghty Christians. For if you disdain whom I love, how do you think I will treat you when you stand before ME ? You do good works, but are they the works that I DO ? Your coastline is full of vomit and perversion. REPENT and PRAY, reestablish the TABERNACLE of DAVID in your city and watch what I will do. Turn away from your traditions oh church, For I AM A PERSON, not just an edifice, or a ritual gathering. RETURN TO MY HEART that is filled with compassion.

The intensity of the times is increasing. The intensity of BATTLE is increasing. The Intensity of MY presence is also increasing for there is a great battle that lies ahead and you will need all that is possible of My glory to go through it. This is not a time for dismissing time with ME. This is not a time for presumption in doing what YOU want. It is a serious, and a glorious time, when the culmination of all things is at Hand.

Don't think of only yourself beloveds for the days are here when you MUST have relationship with other TRUE Christians to make it through. You are a BODY and in need of every PART that makes it a whole.

There is nothing that I won't do for you as you surrender YOUR will for Mine. This is not just a "nice talk". THIS IS REALITY. The ten virgins were ad monished to keep OIL in their lamps and there is still time to buy oil, and gold refined in the FIRE of affliction. But how many are listening. It is as in the days of NOAH, those listening are few and far between.

There is a NEW WORLD coming, but I is NOT the new world some surmise. I have a judgment for every system of man, and nothing that man has built will stand as I shake the earth ! There is NOTHING that can be shaken that won't be shaken ! I will prevail, though every force of darkness is arrayed against you and I, I am the greater ONE, and NOTHING will stop ME from MY PURPOSES.

My heart is merciful towards those who are Mine, and towards those who are called to be MINE, so I am pouring out GLORY to give many others another chance to get on board the train of GLORY in this hour. Do not be like the unjust servant, and think that you deserve forgive ness, but others don't. PUT AWAY all selfishness, and treat others as you would want to be treated. For I tell you in this hour, such horrors will be seen that you will wish you had listened to My WORDS more carefully for lawlessness is also increasing. Time has come for GOSHENS to be built, and there will be a grand division of all that is darkness from all that is of the Light. The dark is getting darker and MY LIGHT WILL GET LIGHTER & BRIGHTER and all who truly love me, no matter what their condition will have mercy shown them.

If you want mercy in this hour, then YOU MUST SHOW MERCY. If you want love and kindness, then you must SOW LOVE AND KINDNESS ! I will PROVIDE ALL THAT IS NEEDED for what you absolutely NEED, but it is time to lay down everything and place it in MY hands, for the seas will ROAR as never before, and men's hearts will be filled with fear. Destruction and famine, wars, earthquakes, and storms are increasing, even as the LIGHT that fills you is INCREASING. Don't hold on to your things beloved. DON'T be like LOT's WIFE ! For this is the hour when great testing will come upon you, and you will need to listen VERY carefully to the still small voice.

Luke 6:35-36 AMP
35 But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense , and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked. 36 So be merciful (sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate) even as your Father is [all these].

The day of judgement is coming to this country,

It has already been prophesied through the scriptures of what will happen to the Great Whore of Rev 17 & 18 and also through his prophets of today. Some prophesying of Attack by foreign troops, terrorists, and other things such as nuclear weapons and the like. I too saw in a dream of a ship in San Francisco Bay, blow up near the Piers on the Embarkedero and another on a ship anchored in the Gulf near Houston. Whether they be in this realm or prophetic, the news is not good that is coming from the Prophetic Pipeline.

PROPHECY OF TERROR ATTACKS ON AMERICA 9/6
« on: September 06, 2007, 07:19:51 AM »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Mary Frances Vallaro: Prophecy of terror attacks on America"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I personally know the person who posted this on another board. In light of the Perry Stone video, etc, I thought it's relevant. The minister is Mary Frances Vallaro, and she was at our church in July for 2 services:
I attend a full gospel church which is rather large. We believe in the gifts of the spirit among which is the gift of prophecy. However, everything is done in an orderly fashion. We don't swing from the rafters...lol. Anyway, we had a guest minister from Tennessee this morning and evening. This morning she bluntly said our nation was going to be attacked and that people will turn to God's people for help and guidance. It will be a time for us to share the Gospel because fear will embrace the population. In tonight's service, she said we were going to be hit with simultaneous attacks and then said specifically Houston will be quarantined with nothing going in or out. She again said believers will share the Gospel to those who are fearful.

I thought this very interesting as I have never heard anything so blunt and specific regarding terrorism from the pulpit. Most preachers are preaching bless me and mine. However, my pastor preaches the truth, but I've never heard such a specific prophecy such as this one given in my church.

One thing about this minister, the sermons weren't just prophesying. No. The sermons were about fellowshipping the relationship with the Lord, how to know Jesus, and the Gospel. The prophecys were delivered within the context of the sermon, and it was stressed we were born for this time in order, as believers, to help those people who will be greatly afraid when the terror hits our nation. That people will see that we are at peace and they will come to us for answers and that's when we will share the Prince of Peace, Jesus, with them.

The Prayer:

Father, we acknowledge you as Lord over the United States.

You reign above all gods. All power belongs to You.

We thank You for your continual protection and provision.

Using the authority given to us in the Name of Jesus, we speak to Hurricane Gustav and we command the winds and the storm to dissipate.

We ask for the peace of God to still Hurricane Ike, and we declare that Ike will not bring harm or destruction to New Orleans, Houston or the surrounding coastal areas.

We also speak to other storms We declare peace to these storms and we command them to dissipate and to do no harm.

Lord, we ask You to touch the heart of every believer in this area to pray against this hurricane. Raise up a Spirit of prayer and empower your people to pray effectively.

Father, please forgive our many sins. Please forgive our disobedience, rebellion, unbelief, and any forms of idolatry. Lord, help us to be a nation that is kind and forgiving to others.

Have mercy upon us. Lord, help us to overcome our temptations as a nation, and please deliver us from this impending destruction. We ask You to destroy every satanic assignment against our nation during this season.

Father, in Your great love and compassion we also ask you to protect the peoples of the islands in the path of Gustav, Hanna, Ike and these weather system.

Now to the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. We ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thanks for praying,

F OUR MOUTH CAN KEEP US OUT OF OUR INHERITANCE--OUR MOUTH CAN TAKE US IN!

It is interesting that even with all of the sin, the giants, and the evil in the land of Canaan, that God still called it a "good land flowing with milk and honey!" Even when the evil report came about how big the giants were, Joshua and Caleb responded, "If the giants are that big, imagine how big the fruit of that land is!" Both of them could only carry out one cluster of grapes on a pole.

"I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!" Psalm 27:13

I believe the Lord will open our eyes and ears as we close our mouths more during these next forty days. He will show us great and mighty things that we just never saw or heard before. We will begin to see the good of our land--the fruit instead of the giants and evil. We will then begin to pray and say what He says about our nation! I believe we will even begin speaking blessing to the ground beneath our feet!

SPEAK TO YOUR MOUNTAINS, SING TO YOUR VALLEYS, AND BLESS YOUR OCEAN SHORE LINES...."THIS LAND WAS MADE FOR YOU AND ME!"

I heard the Rocky mountains, the Grand Canyon, and the ocean front properties crying out to Heaven, "Don't let go of me!" I heard the earth herself groaning--from California to the New York Highlands, and from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters--she was travailing, as though crying out for the manifestation of the sons of God to come forth in power and might!

A VERBAL BLESSING IS SO POWERFUL IN REVERSING THE CURSE OF THE LAND!

Remember the old saying..."If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all!" As I saw our words blessing the land of our nation, much of the land was beginning to come under the anointing and ownership of God's people as though it was responding to our love and kindness to it.

This time period is the perfect time to speak forth God's word and call those things in this nation that are not as though they were!

"OH AMERICA!...DONT' SALE YOUR BIRTHRIGHT - DECREE IT!"

Hurricane Ike slams Texas coast with major floods By JUAN A. LOZANO and CHRIS DUNCAN, Associated Press Writers
23 minutes ago

GALVESTON, Texas - Massive Hurricane Ike ravaged southeast Texas early Saturday, battering the coast with driving rain and ferocious wind gusts as residents who decided too late they should have heeded orders to evacuate made futile calls for rescue.

It remained unclear before daybreak how many people may have perished as the worst of Ike was passing over the Houston-Galveston area. But even before the storm had passed and daylight had arrived, damage was already considered extensive. Thousands of homes and government buildings had flooded, roads were washed out, 2.9 million people lost power and several fires burned unabated as crews could not reach them. But the biggest fear was that tens of thousands of people had defied orders to flee and would need to be rescued from submerged homes and neighborhoods.

"The unfortunate truth is we're going to have to go in ... and put our people in the tough situation to save people who did not choose wisely. We'll probably do the largest search and rescue operation that's ever been conducted in the state of Texas," said Andrew Barlow, spokesman for Gov. Rick Perry.

Several fires were burning untended across Houston and 911 operators received about 1,250 calls in 24 hours, said Frank Michel, spokesman for Houston Mayor Bill White.

Streets around the city's theater district became rushing streams and shards of glass fell from the sparkling skyscrapers that define the skyline of America's fourth-largest city. Winds were estimated to be 20-30 mph faster at the top of the steel and glass towers than at ground level.

The stubborn storm remained a Category 2 hurricane with winds topping 100 mph, but started moving away from Houston on Saturday morning. It was about 15 miles east-northeast of Houston Intercontinental Airport at 7 a.m. EDT and was expected to turn toward Arkansas later in the day.

The eye of the storm powered ashore at 3:10 a.m. EDT at Galveston with 110 mph winds, just shy of a Category 3 storm. Because Ike was so huge — nearly as big as Texas itself — hurricane winds pounded the coast for hours before landfall and would continue through much of the morning, with the worst winds and rain after the center came ashore, forecasters said.

"For us, it was a 10," Galveston Fire Chief Mike Varela said when asked to compare Ike to earlier hurricanes like 2005's Rita. Varela said firefighters responded to about 60 rescue calls before suspending operations around 8 p.m. Friday.

More than 1.3 million customers — or 2.9 million people — had lost power, and suppliers warned it could be weeks before all the service was restored. The only parts of Houston with power were downtown and the massive medical center section.

Though 1 million people fled coastal communities near where the storm made landfall, authorities in four counties alone said roughly 140,000 ignored mandatory evacuation orders. Other counties were unable to provide numbers but officials were concerned many had stayed behind.

"We don't know what we are going to find," Galveston Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas said. "We hope we will find the people who are left here alive and well."

As the front of the storm moved into Galveston, fire crews rescued nearly 300 people who changed their minds and fled at the last minute. Six feet of water had collected in the Galveston County Courthouse in the island's downtown, and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston was flooded, according to local storm reports on the National Weather Service's Web site.

Even before Ike made landfall, Coast Guard helicopters had rescued 103 people in the Bolivar Peninsula near Galveston Island, some from roofs and others from cars, said Petty Officer 3rd Class Ayla Stevens.

Some 30 miles inland, storm surge pushing up through Galveston Bay was sending water into a neighborhood near Johnson Space Center where White, the Houston mayor, had made rounds earlier with a bullhorn trying to compel people to leave. Nearby, the popular Kemah Boardwalk at the mouth of Galveston Bay, ringed by million-dollar homes, was submerged, state officials said.

Thousands of homes could be damaged, a spokesman for the mayor said, but it was too dangerous to go out to assess the neighborhood at the height of the storm.

Across Houston's downtown, car alarms screeched and light poles swayed like small trees.

The restaurant Brennan's of Houston, a downtown institution for more than four decades, was destroyed by flames when firefighters were thwarted by high winds. Fire officials said a restaurant worker and his young daughter were taken to a hospital in critical condition with burns over 70 percent of their bodies.

On the far east side of Houston, 34-year-old Claudia Macias was awake with her newborn and trying not to think about the trees swaying outside her doors or the wind vibrating through her windows.

"I don't know who's going to sleep here tonight, maybe the baby," she said.

Before it came ashore, the storm was 600 miles across. Because of the hurricane's size, the state's shallow coastal waters and its largely unprotected coastline, forecasters said the biggest threat would be flooding and storm surge, with Ike expected to hurl a wall of water two stories high — 20 to 25 feet — at the coast.

But there was some good news: a stranded freighter with 22 men aboard made it through the brunt of the storm safely, and a tugboat was on the way to save them. And an evacuee from Calhoun County gave birth to a baby girl in the restroom of a shelter with the aid of an expert in geriatric psychiatry who delivered his first baby in two decades.

"It's kind of like riding a bike," Dr. Mark Burns told the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung after he helped Ku Paw welcome her fourth child.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said more than 5.5 million prepackaged meals were being sent to the region, along with more than 230 generators and 5.6 million liters of water. At least 3,500 FEMA officials were stationed in Texas and Louisiana.

If Ike is as bad as feared, the storm could travel up Galveston Bay and send a surge up the Houston Ship Channel and into the port of Houston. The port is the nation's second-busiest, and is an economically vital complex of docks, pipelines, depots and warehouses that receives automobiles, consumer products, industrial equipment and other cargo from around the world and ships out vast amounts of petrochemicals and agricultural products.

The storm also could force water up the seven bayous that thread through Houston, swamping neighborhoods so flood-prone that they get inundated during ordinary rainstorms.

The oil and gas industry was closely watching Ike because it was headed straight for the nation's biggest complex of refineries and petrochemical plants. Wholesale gasoline prices jumped to around $4.85 a gallon for fear of shortages.

Ike is the first major hurricane to hit a U.S. metropolitan area since Katrina devastated New Orleans three years ago. For Houston, it would be the first major hurricane since Alicia in August 1983 came ashore on Galveston Island, killing 21 people and causing $2 billion in damage. Houston has since then seen a population explosion, so many of the residents now in the storm's path have never experienced the full wrath of a hurricane.

On its way through the Gulf toward Texas, Ike spawned thunderstorms, shut down schools and knocked out power throughout southern Louisiana on Friday. An estimated 1,200 people were in state shelters in Monroe and Shreveport, and another 220 in medical needs shelters.

In southeastern Louisiana near Houma, Ike breached levees, and flooded more than 1,800 homes. More than 160 people had to be rescued from sites of severe flooding, and Gov. Bobby Jindal said he expected those numbers to grow. In some extreme instances, residents of low-lying communities where waters continued to rise continued to refuse National Guard assistance to flee their homes, authorities said.

No deaths were officially reported, but crews expected to resume searching at daybreak near Corpus Christi for a man believed swept out to sea as Ike closed in.

Re: [Watchmen-Prophets-Assembly] prophecies concerning Houston area

Shalom, since March 2008 we have discovered over 25 prophecies concerning a
"storm" coming to Houston area sometime after Aug. 15, 2008 which will be many
times worse than the Hurricane Katrina crises. All of the
prophecies/dreams/visions have been the same scenario... huge wave, Houston
under water, bodies floating and the oil rigs and chemical plants on fire above
the water. We have now had people as far away as Dallas and Shreveport, LA who
did not know about the previous prophecies- all having the same scenario in the
dream/vision. Several of us, after having prayed to "escape:" Houston - have had
open doors to move out of the area. The words have also come forth about this
storm that the waters will flood as far away west as San Antonio and Austin and
the rivers will flood as far north as Dallas and Texarkana. Though we had the
urgency this would happen sometime after Aug. 15, we did not have an exact
confirmation until the Apostle in Dallas had the dream.. with the Lord speaking
that it would happen, "in less than 3 months." He had this dream the week of
June25, 2008. If anyone else has had these dreams or words, please let us know.
We are trying to get the word out so people?will relocate from Houston asap..
unfortunately though we have published the prophecies in a packet, most people
are hoping that "they can pray it away and judgment won't happen." Shalom,

Nearly 3M people without power as Ike hits Sat Sep 13, 4:05 AM ET

HOUSTON - Nearly 3 million people are without power in the Houston area as Hurricane Ike slams the Texas coast.

It will likely be a while before electricity returns. CenterPoint Energy says it could take weeks before all the power in the nation's fourth-largest city was restored.

Utility spokesman Floyd LeBlanc said 1.3 million customers — or about 2.9 million people — had lost power by the time the storm made landfall at Galveston early Saturday. Work crews were coming in Monday to restore power, and priority will be given to hospitals, fire and police departments and water and sewage treatment plants.

The city's last direct hit from a hurricane came from Alicia in 1983, when 750,000 CenterPoint customers lost power. It took 16 days to restore all service.

WINGS OF THE WIND THROUGH TEXAS by Tommy Hays 9/13 on: Today at 07:35:38am
Wings of the Wind" through Texas
Tommy Hays
Sep 13 2008 08:46AM

Morning by Morning, Saturday 9-13-08 -- "Wings of the Wind" through Texas

Good morning, Lord Jesus. I know my Redeemer lives. ...

"He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under His feet. He rode on a cherub and flew; He came swiftly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His covering around Him, His canopy thick clouds dark with water. Out of the brightness before Him there broke through His clouds hailstones and coals of fire. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice" (Psalm 18:9-13).

My heart breaks for all the destruction of lives and property taking place on the Gulf shores of Texas today. Though I was born on the plains of west Texas, I worked several summers in Houston and started my family and law career at the shores of Corpus Christi. As this huge Hurricane called Ike, as huge as the state, enters in through the southeast gate of Texas at Galveston Bay on its way up the Port of Houston, I know the wind and water is waging war against the people and places of much that I've known.

So I pray. I pray in agreement with all the prayers storming the gates of heaven to stand firm as a sea wall undercutting the violent water and waves, reducing the intensity of this storm and its destruction as far as Your grace will go. And I pray for all the redemption to come. I pray for how I know You'll stir up Your people with courage and compassion, with self-less sacrifice and tenacity of spirit to be Your hands and heart in the midst of all the suffering to come. This storm, no matter how huge, will not overwhelm and will not overtake the heart and spirit of the people You've been preparing and positioning to be in place during this time You've always known would come. "Do not fear for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.... Do not fear for I am with you" (from Isaiah 43:1-5).

Though You don't cause all things, You do redeem all things as we entrust them to You (Romans 8:28). You are a redeeming God (Job 19:25). And all that is intended for evil, You will use for good. And that is suffered, You will use to strengthen faith and encourage relationship with You and one another in bonds of self-sacrificing love. "When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come ..." (Isaiah 59:19-20, KJV).

It seems I hear You say: "The hurricane is the counterfeit of My true storm of My Spirit that is surging ashore through this gate of this nation. I am coming in like a mighty rushing wind. I am sanctifying by the washing of My word. I am bringing down strongholds of pride and presumption, I am rebuilding the walls of My cities with passion and purpose for My people and My kingdom. All the earth will watch and see how I display My glory through My people."

Yes, Lord. Let every word that is of You go forth. I know it will never return void, but will accomplish all that You have purposed. The false floods and false winds will don't prevail. Where the thief comes in to steal and kill and destroy, You will bring forth abundant life (John 10:10). When "the earth was formless and void and darkness covered the face of the deep ... a wind from God swept over the face of the waters" (Genesis 1:2). I believe You will do the same as You coming riding in on the wings of the wind. Let Your true storm of Your Spirit surge through gates of our hearts and our land. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Be encouraged today! In the Love of Jesus, Tommy Hays

Friends, thank you for standing with me and all who are praying for the people of southeast Texas. The Lord will turn all this into good, but we pray for the fullness of His mercy and grace for all those who will suffer greatly through the process. I believe destructive storms are a part of fallen nature, longing to be redeemed (Romans 8:19). I pray for the Lord's redemption of all your suffering and the suffering of those you love. God bless you!

September 13, 2008. You are calm before the approaching storm. You have noticed the air becoming still. But over the years you have learned to beware when all things seem altogether good. You have become wise and discerning. Hezekiah experienced this calm just before a great onslaught came from Sennacherib king of Assyria. Surely you will have attacks from the enemy ahead. Study this encounter between Hezekiah and Sennacherib and see to it that you practice such things in the time of calm. In this way, you will be ready for any attack. You will demonstrate yourself to be an overcomer with My power. Now, enjoy your calm while having a sharp eye.
2 Chronicles 32:1 “After Hezekiah had faithfully carried out this work, King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, giving orders for his army to break through their walls.” Ras Robinson*

September 13, 2008. There is a small change coming. You have no need of real concern, just a small adjustment. I am in the change. Your assignment is to be flexible. A big part of success in life is learning to adjust to change. The children of Israel followed me in a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. When I moved they moved. That is what I am preparing and calling you to do. I want you to learn to walk in peace in the midst of change. Keep your mind on Me, knowing that I am a rewarder and One who blesses. React with wisdom and soundness of mind.
Romans 8:14-15 “God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "What's next, Papa?" Bev Robinson**

Houston has been through Hurricains much worse than this.

Now, I am sending you this awesome Word which came forth through Deborah Gliebe. Please prayerfully read it through. You must understand that Deborah having been away from television a day or so with God, knew nothing of the massive storm that was about to make land fall on the Texas coast Saturday until I told her late Saturday evening.

WORD FOR TEXAS
August 12, 2008
FireGate Ministries International
thru Prophetess Deborah Gliebe
I saw Texas, in the Spirit, this morning. Texas is known as the big state where everything is large. The Holy Spirit showed me that there is a large anointing that is going to impact Texas.

“I am about to impact Texas BIG TIME,” says the Spirit of the Lord. “Your children shall run and they shall play in my anointing.”

Then I saw God completing a thing like a multicolored garment and that the garment had been at the very last threads of completion. It was down to the last inches of completion. Then the Lord said, “Tell my people to get prepared in their battle array.”

This is the season to put on your battle array and take a stance and God is saying, “Position yourself, and release the battle cry over your nation of America. I’m about to impact my people in a big way!”

Even where your state has been known as the state that assassinated JFK, a president of our nation, I felt like the Lord was taking a large eraser and He was erasing the stains of the blood of assassination from off of your boarders. And I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, “Cry out my people! Humble yourself and pray! Fast and seek my face for today is a day that I will go to war with you! The battle is mine so prepare yourself in a battle stance and come into the high places of WORSHIP!”

I saw many standing in a high place to worship, praise and release the prophetic with declaration in the high places of Texas.

“Cry out, cry out, for today!” says the Spirit of the Lord. “You have withstood many storms, and yea, many storms shall be coming but I will put it to rest this day, for I am about to erase the blood soaked ground of Texas. And, I am shaking my people. I am shaking my leaders, as my wind is about to blow at gale force into your cities!” And I saw houses and the wind of the Spirit was going upon every house in the city, checking the gates.

He says, “Check your gates. Do not leave open doors for the enemy. Remember, he seeks those he can devour but, I the Lord say to you, Angelic host are being released today over your state and for this nation.”

And, He says, “I am raising up a strong people in Texas. I am raising up warriors that will hear the sound of My voice and move, with my Spirit, in the battle cry, for I am about to undress my Bride and reveal her secret parts that need correcting and cleansing. Then I am prepared to pour out my Spirit in such a measure that Texas has never seen or beheld the Glory that is about to descend. It will begin in the high places with worship.” He says, “Worship me in Spirit and in Truth and declare my goodness in your land.”

I saw the hand of the Lord being put toward Texas and when He descended in the Glory, He was going to grow up people quickly into maturity. He is going to pour out mantles that would be life changing and transforming. Texas, hold on to your hats and get ready for the run. God is about to move in Texas!
(Thru Prophetess Frances Lloyd) As I was reading what the Lord gave to Deborah about Texas, I was reminded of some things that He has been telling me. One thing of the last few days is that He is calling His ministers to repent, get themselves ready and cleansed to stand and minister. He is saying that He does not desire to expose you to the public. He much prefers that you would come to him privately and repent. He is about to move with a massive move through His ministers. He is not unrighteous to forget your labor of love in which you did minister to His people. He cannot look upon any sin and He cannot excuse it. If you will repent privately and clean up with Him and you alone, He will use you mightily in this great move destined for this fall season. If you do not, He will be forced to expose you publicly. God is not mocked, “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
The Lord is also telling me that we will likely see some strong headlines in the middle east, in a matter of days or weeks. He gave me the scripture… (Romans 5:20) Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. In this case He is saying that where there is great evil going on, at the same time we are going to see some of the greatest moves of God we have ever known. You must get ready for what God is about to do this fall.

In Him,
Prophetess Frances Lloyd

The Trumpet by Bill Burns -- September 15, 2008:
My people, you are living in the end of the Age. If you have ears to hear and eyes to see, you will know that even as it is prophesied that judgment will come to the earth, there will indeed be waves that roar and earthquakes in various places and famines. False christs shall arise, and false doctrines shall be promoted. I say to you, do not lose heart, but rather establish your joy in this fact -- I am coming! I am coming for a chosen generation. The signs that you see in the earth and the travail of the earth is the outcry of My Spirit for the manifestation of My sons who will arise and declare that this land belongs to Me, says the Lord. Is it not written that before I return all things must be shaken? The earth itself will be shaken, and you will be shaken to the very core of your being so that I might establish My truth in you. Your old nature that continues to try to revive itself will be shaken out. In this shaking I will reveal to you the places of offense. I will reveal to you the transgression of your attitudes and morality. Allow for My shaking to begin, but let it be a time of rejoicing as well, for I say to you that I cannot come until this shaking takes place. Arise now and let the tremors of the Spirit transform you and bring you forth in the Kingdom of God, fully equipped to be My kings.

Small Straws In A Soft Wind by Marsha Burns -- September 15, 2008:
A special anointing is now being released that will bring regeneration and resurrection power. The tests and trials of the past eight months have taken their toll and have brought a general weakness in your body, soul and spirit. But, now it is time for you to rise up and access this fresh anointing that will refresh, restore and renew. You will do this in the realm of the Spirit by faith. Come boldly before My throne of Grace and receive all that I have made available to you, says the Lord.
Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Relief operations ramp up in storm-hit Texas By Ed Stoddard
Mon Sep 15, 1:43 AM ET

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A huge relief effort was accelerating in storm-struck Texas on Monday as the big oil center of Houston struggled to get back to business after it was battered by Hurricane Ike.

About 2,000 people have been rescued from flooded areas in the largest such effort in the state's history as searchers scoured hard-hit places like the devastated island city of Galveston, which was shredded when the hurricane made landfall on Saturday morning before heading inland to Houston.

Reuters energy correspondent Erwin Seba reported that 12 of the 15 Texas oil refineries that had been shut as a precaution showed no visible signs of flooding or damage -- a sign fuel production could resume more quickly than initially thought. But power outages could still hinder their start-up.

Over 4 million people, several refineries and many businesses and gas stations remained without power, but floods were receding as crucial aid such as ice, water and food was being delivered to distribution points.

"Sixty trucks with supplies rolled in earlier tonight. ... As we are standing here, deliveries are being made," Ed Emmett, chief executive for Harris County, which includes Houston, told a news briefing on Sunday night.

He added that six relief distribution points were already up and running and he expected 17 to be in operation by later on Monday.

The relief roll-out appeared to defuse tensions that flared between the Federal Emergency Management Agency and local officials as hard-pressed residents complained about the time it was taking to get supplies to those in need.

Local officials later attributed the rift to confusion over who was responsible for doing what in the relief chain, a situation that led to delays.

The Bush administration came under heavy fire for its botched relief efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Floods have been among the obstacles to rescue efforts and aid operations, but officials said the waters were receding.

"The flood event should be behind us," Emmett said. Local TV footage showed cattle driven onto roads by flooded fields.

DEBRIS, POWER OUTAGES

Houston Mayor Bill White said all city employees were expected to show up to work on Monday as the country's fourth most populous city tries to get up and running again.

The city's two main airports were to resume partial operations on Monday, but with debris still littering its streets and windows blown out of office buildings, as well as power problems, it seemed unlikely the city of more than 2 million people would return to business as usual soon.

That point was underscored by the imposition in Houston of a weeklong dusk-to-dawn curfew.

Power provider CenterPoint Energy reported it had restored power to 380,000 customers, but over 1.7 million or 76 percent of its clients remained without electricity as of Sunday night.

At least three bodies were found in Galveston, which sustained some of the worst damage of the storm. The scale of destruction became apparent as authorities allowed more people to return.

The downtown area, containing the few buildings that survived a hurricane in 1900 that killed thousands, was under a layer of foul-smelling mud and sewage.

"It looks like a war zone. Everything is gone. It's heartbreaking," said Susan Rybick, a retiree driving along the seafront with her husband, John.

Ike triggered the biggest disruption to U.S. energy supplies in three years and sent gas prices higher. But U.S. crude oil futures dropped more than $1.59 to as low as $99.59 a barrel on Sunday as traders shrugged off supply concerns.

As a Houstonian allow me to put some of this false info to rest. Blessings in Yeshua, Suzanne, Remnant Ministries, Conroe, TX

Maybe the reason the letters were disappearing was because it was coming from the flesh. No chemical plantts and/or oil plants were knocked over and the damage was not even compariable to a "nuclear bomb." My husbands job was backed up with orders and due to this hurricane their workload just got put on crazy over load. Some people jobs will be affected most certainly, but the report presented in that quoted post I quoted from your OP is simply over stated and over expressed. It is easy to see the flesh getting in the mix of it.

A lot of us here in Texas was shown a storm coming this year and those that were shown were prepared, us included. Dallas is also just fine as it is not a madhouse.

Some of the youtube reports that you are posting that are poking fun at Houston is simply in poor taste after what this city has just endured. I hope you enjoy poking fun at other people's pain Lois...

Houston and Texans in general are good hearted people with a great big heart. I most certainly would never in my life poke fun at an event such as what has taken place. We always bounce back. We are a rich city with deep roots in Christ. You should see see that miracles that have taken place over here. Pamela, it is a common phenomenon that many selfproclaimed prophets hitchhike on the events, even scramble to provide reverse proof of false timestamping their words.

You shall know the real prophet by clear and accurate anouncements, AHEAD of the event.

Neither was Texas being punished, nor was it a reward. (I found both messages in Lois posts, a case of poor selection and being gullable to about everything).

I understand that many here are sensitive to words aimed at their nation, in unbelief that there even would be anything that needed improving.
The false sense of perfectness is in fact patriotism, where the Word of God is literally squeezed into.

What happened in Texas is the continued Word of God, being a warning to the whole nation and especially its leaders: stop dividing God's Land.
No more, no less. The warnings will continue until the proper result is being produced.

Note that attacking the messenger does not change the contents of the message.

Texas rushes Ike relief as health crisis looms By Tim Gaynor
13 minutes ago

GALVESTON, Texas (Reuters) - Texas officials warned on Monday of a possible health crisis and urged thousands to leave the island city of Galveston, where relief supplies were scarce after the onslaught of Hurricane Ike.

CNN reported on its Web site that 27 people were killed by Ike and its remnants in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri and Ohio.

In Houston, millions of people had to cope without power as the U.S. energy hub and fourth-largest city struggled to return to normal.

About 2,000 people have been plucked from flooded areas by helicopters and boats in the largest rescue effort in Texas history as search teams scoured battered communities along the coast and Galveston Bay.

President George W. Bush will view storm-damaged areas in Texas on Tuesday. He still is trying to rebuild his image as a disaster manager after being widely criticized for a botched relief effort in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Galveston, a city of 60,000, was decimated when Ike made landfall on Saturday morning and 15,000 to 20,000 people remained in quickly degrading conditions.

"There's nothing to come here for," Galveston Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas told residents still on the island. "Please leave."

She called in a cruise ship to house recovery teams. The city was bringing in a refrigerated mobile morgue.

"We cannot accommodate people who are getting sick," said Galveston City Manager Steven LeBlanc. "You have the potential for a health crisis."

More than 4 million people, several oil refineries and many businesses around Houston remained without power. Government agencies will distribute ice, water and packaged meals from tractor-trailers.

Long lines snaked around the few gas stations that were operating in and around Houston, where the car is king, but officials said tankers were rolling in with fuel. Even with gas, many stations remained without power.

"Tanker trucks are coming in to make sure service stations are given fuel," Ed Emmett, chief executive for Harris County, which includes Houston, told reporters.

The relief roll-out appeared to defuse tensions that had flared between the Federal Emergency Management Agency and local officials after Houston Mayor Bill White vowed to hold FEMA accountable for delivering on its commitments.

'FEMA AIN'T BEEN BY'

Officials from Texas -- which sheltered some 200,000 evacuees when Katrina devastated New Orleans -- pressed for equal treatment from federal aid agencies.

"I have asked the president and the administration to just treat us as fairly as they treated Louisiana back during Katrina," said Texas Gov. Rick Perry. "Texans will take care of the rest."

FEMA said it will deliver 7.5 million meals over the next few days, along with 5.1 million gallons of water, 19.2 million pounds (8,700 tonnes) of ice and 80,000 tarpaulins.

Residents of Texas and Louisiana are in for tough times, FEMA Administrator David Paulison said.

"Some people will be out of their homes for not only weeks, but months," he said.

In Galveston, shocked and bewildered residents staggered through the streets as food and water grew scarce. There was little sign of any federal relief efforts.

"FEMA ain't been by, nobody," said disabled retiree Vivian Matthews, who was stranded at her flooded apartment for two days. "They don't give a damn if we live or die."

Four deaths were reported by officials in Galveston -- scene of the worst U.S. weather disaster when a hurricane killed more than 8,000 people in 1900. One person was killed in the Houston suburb of Pasadena, the mayor said.

'VERY FRUSTRATED'

Bush said Texas residents are "very frustrated" by the slow pace of recovery but "my message will be that we hear you and we'll work as hard and fast as we can to help you get your lives back up to normal."

Power outages were the main obstacle to recovery and authorities have warned that some people could be without for days. Electricity is the lifeblood of Gulf Coast refineries that process about a quarter of the country's fuel.

CenterPoint Energy reported it had restored power to 500,000 customers but about 1.6 million remained in the dark, including big Houston-based corporations.

U.S. crude oil futures shrugged off supply concerns and were almost $2 lower at $93.74 a barrel as the Asian trading day began.

Ike caused minimal damage to oil refineries along the Gulf Coast. Companies are preparing to restart operations at the 14 refineries in Texas and Louisiana that remained shut due to Ike, the Energy Department said.

Houston, home to a booming economy thanks to energy demand, was still under a dusk-to-dawn curfew due to lack of power.

Houston's two main airports resumed partial operations. But with debris still littering its streets and windows blown out of office buildings, it could be weeks before the city of more than 2 million people returns to business as usual.

"Freak" Hurricane Ike Will Cost $22 BillionWillie Drye
for National Geographic News

September 15, 2008
Hurricane Ike will be entered into the record books for the severe damage it inflicted in and around Galveston, Texas, experts say.

"This ones going to be famous for a long time, if for no other reason than it hit Texas, which hadn't gotten a strike by a damaging hurricane in 25 years," said Jeff Masters, director of Weather Underground, a private commercial forecasting service.

Masters also noted that the cost of Ike's rampage along the Gulf Coast could reach U.S. $22 billion, which would make it the third costliest hurricane on record behind Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

The center of Hurricane Ike made landfall around 3 a.m. EDT Saturday at Galveston. The storm's peak winds were clocked at 110 miles (177 kilometers) an hour, making it just short of a major Category 3 hurricane. (See photos of the hurricane's aftermath.)

But the storm's enormous size—nearly as large as the state of Texas—spread its destruction from eastern Louisiana to Texas.

"Freak" Storm

The worst of Ike's damage was caused by its huge storm surge, a mound of water pushed ashore by the storm's winds. (Watch video of Ike's waves crash over buildings in Cuba.)

Because of Hurricane Ike's huge size, its storm surge of 10 to 15 feet (3 to 4.6 meters) above normal tides was much bigger than a Category 2 hurricane usually would create.

When Hurricane Ike struck eastern Cuba last week, it was a very powerful Category 4 hurricane with peak winds of about 145 miles (233 kilometers) an hour.

But the storm's long trip across Cuba caused the hurricane to weaken and spread out.

Ike stayed large when it moved off the western tip of Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico, said James Franklin, a forecaster at the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

"One of the issues with Ike was how long it took for the core of the hurricane to recover from its passage over Cuba, Franklin said. "At one time, it was forecast to be a Category 4 hurricane at landfall [in the U.S.].

"I think we were anticipating that it might have intensified a little faster over the Gulf. But very often, you see storms that never recover after they have had interaction with land."

Masters said Ike became a "freak" over the Gulf of Mexico because its barometric pressure started dropping, which is usually an indication that a hurricanes winds are strengthening. Ike's winds did strengthen some, but not as much as forecasters expected.

Still, Ike was so large that its winds set most of the Gulf of Mexico into motion, and that's why its storm surge became so large and destructive.

Killer Storm

The hurricane has killed at least 34 people in the U.S.

Rescue workers are still trying to reach some coastal residents who did not heed the National Weather Service's dire warning to evacuate in advance of the storm.

Among the residents who did not leave were about 500 people on the Bolivar Peninsula just north of Galveston.

When Ike made landfall, the peninsula was hit by the storms front right quadrant, which carries a hurricane's peak winds and maximum storm surge.

Masters noted that 80 percent of the homes on Bolivar Peninsula were destroyed.

Dan Reilly, a meteorologist at the Houston-Galveston National Weather Service office, said Ike's storm surge combined with large pounding waves caused the damage on the peninsula.

The arrival of a storm surge is gradual as the hurricane approaches land and pushes the edges of the surge ahead of its center. But the surge steadily increases as the center of the hurricane gets closer.

When the hurricane's eye arrives, the powerful winds can create large breaking waves riding atop the surge, and these waves are very destructive as they crash down on buildings.

Reilly said the surge and pounding waves caused heavy damage on Bolivar Peninsula and the southwestern end of Galveston Island. But the surge did not top the city's 17-foot (5.2-meter) seawall, built after a devastating hurricane in 1900. (See scenes of the devastation left behind after the 1900 hurricane.)

Masters added that although the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season still has more than two months remaining, the rampage of Hurricane Ike and earlier storms that formed in the same area this summer may prevent future storms in the Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida from becoming as powerful as they might otherwise have been.

"They all acted to cool down the ocean in the Gulf and around the Bahamas," Masters said. "So the next storm that comes through will not have as much heat."

Bush sees "tough situation" in hurricane-hit Texas By Tabassum Zakaria
2 hours, 10 minutes ago

GALVESTON, Texas (Reuters) - President George W. Bush on Tuesday toured the island of Galveston, which bore the brunt of Hurricane Ike's devastation, and pledged swift federal aid for millions of storm-struck Texans as the energy hub of Houston struggled to recover.

Three days after Ike slammed into the Texas coast, over 2 million customers remained without power and battered Galveston was deemed unfit for habitation.

"It's a tough situation on the coast," Bush said at a Houston airfield before viewing storm-damaged areas from the air and touring Galveston on foot.

Bush warned against "disaster fatigue" in a turbulent Atlantic storm season and urged citizens to give generously to relief efforts. Residents of his home state of Texas, he said, should not return to disaster-hit areas before it was safe.

The federal government will pay for debris removal and other recovery efforts after Hurricane Ike decimated Galveston and left millions without electricity, he said.

Five people were confirmed dead in Galveston and U.S. media reported up to 40 storm-related deaths including many in Ohio as Ike's remnants moved inland. Some of those reported deaths were from accidents related to the storm, such as people poisoned by carbon monoxide from using generators indoors.

Across from Galveston, officials said some 250 to 300 people were stranded on the isolated Bolivar Peninsula, a spit of land where Ike wiped out rows of beach homes. There were no confirmed fatalities there.

Months before he leaves office, Bush is trying to rebuild his image as a disaster manager after being widely criticized for a botched relief effort in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. That storm killed about 1,500 people in the United States.

It was Bush's third visit in two weeks to view the storm-battered Gulf coast after he canceled an appearance at the Republican National Convention to view damage wrought by Hurricane Gustav earlier this month.

For all its strength, Ike caused minimal damage to oil refineries along the Gulf Coast. Companies are preparing to restart operations at the 14 refineries in Texas and Louisiana that remained shut by the storm, the Energy Department said.

But several offshore oil platforms were damaged in a sign that full recovery of the region's oil and natural gas production could be a long way off.

On Galveston, where officials have warned of a health crisis due to lack of clean water, electricity and supplies, bewildered and homeless residents expressed mixed emotions.

"You are happy you made it," said Lionel Williams, 23, who was bicycling down a deserted street after losing three cars and two houses to Ike. "But you're sad because you lost all your stuff."

The town of 60,000 is famous for a legendary 1900 hurricane that killed at least 8,000 in the worst weather disaster in U.S. history.

'LOOK AND LEAVE'

Officials in Galveston allowed residents to come "look and leave" if they wanted to see how their homes fared. And the estimated 15,000 who rode out the storm were told to leave.

"We have a blossoming health and medical concern," said Galveston Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas. "We are not going to go in somebody's house and drag them off the island. But they need to consider the risks they are taking by staying here."

Toilets on Galveston had not flushed for four days and a medical officer warned of emerging cases of diarrhea, dehydration and food poisoning.

Houston, a normally bustling center of oil and commerce and America's fourth most-populous city, was still battling to get back on its feet. A dusk-to-dawn curfew was in place.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, said 70 percent of Houston residents could have power by the end of the week, but Galveston's power grid sustained much greater damage.

As people started to return to work, lines to buy gas snaked through the city with waits of two to three hours.

U.S. retail gasoline prices have spiked more than 15 cents since Friday to $3.84 a gallon, and energy analysts said they expected nationwide gasoline inventories to fall to their lowest on record in the storm's aftermath because of the Texas refinery shutdowns.

But oil prices hit a seven-month low of $90.55 a barrel on Tuesday on rising concern that turmoil in global financial markets will further undermine fuel demand and send investors into safer havens.

Alice Patterson, leader of Justice at the Gates is a friend and I have ministered in their city in San Antonio, and they have really networked across Texas. They are in great need right now. I also know Doug Stringer of Somebody Cares, a great leader and man of compassion in the body of Christ. Let us help where we can. Alice has provided contact numbers if you would like to help in any way. Get a group together and go to the regions that need our help.

Dear friends,
We've all watched the news stories about Hurricane Ike, but the media didn't tell the whole story. They focused on Galveston and Houston. They were both hit, especially Galveston, but cities further to the East in East Texas and West Louisiana were devastated.

Many in Houston are suffering as well. Millions are still without electricity. Because the media has moved on to the presidential campaign and financial woes, the country doesn't realize that there is massive damage. There is tremendous need covering land mass and population greater than Katrina and Rita.

You may have received prayer alerts and requests for assistance from Somebody Cares America, Pray Texas, Tom Schlueter and others. The need is so very great and the nation does not realize it.

There is massive destruction in many places not reported on the news -- like Bridge City, Orange, LaPorte, Beaumont as well as places such as Galveston, etc., that you've seen on the news.

School officials in Orangefield have advised families in that school district to enroll their children in other schools. The public schools in Orangefield suffered such damage that they don't know when they'll be open again.

Churches were totally destroyed in Orange and Bridge City -- as well as massive destruction of homes. Six churches are working together in Orange to work out schedules for services in the same building.

There are huge needs. Many are homeless.

Because the media hasn't covered Ike or Gustav as they did Katrina, most Americans don't know the desperate needs in the Gulf Region. I'm sure this is true of Mississippi as well as parts of Alabama.

Most will not be able to send semi-truck loads of supplies, but we can pray and we can give. No gift is too small.

When you give to Somebody Cares, you touch Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and other states because they have people who actually live in the devastated regions administering the outreach efforts.

Ask your church to take a special offering for those who survived Ike and send it to Somebody Cares. You can give online at www.somebodycares.org or you can mail checks to:

If you have loads of supplies you would like to deliver, please call Somebody Cares at 713-621-1498 for logistical information.

Mark and Susie Roye of Blood N Fire in San Antonio are also a part of the Somebody Cares network. They have their portable kitchen in LaPorte, Texas to feed the hungry, including rescue workers.

Here's a note from Mark:
Please pray for us on this journey of helping others. Pray against "compassion fatigue." It's easy for us to all grow weary in our well doing. The needs are great and many. Together, we CAN made a difference.

Please forgive the length of this email. It's important for you to understand the great need.

Charles Burchett from First Baptist Church in Kirbyville, Texas (Jasper County) said people were in line for blocks waiting for food and supplies at 7 AM Monday morning when he got to the church. A small truck of military meals and water was all they had to distribute, and it didn't come until 10:30 AM. Kirbyville wasn't hit as hard as other places this time, but there are still hundreds of people in need there.

Pastor Harold Jones, Trinity Church in Winnie, TX, reported damage to his church with windows blown out, water damage, etc., and the Hitching Post, their fellowship hall destroyed.

The following letter is from Pastor Harold's wife, Rip.

ALICE,

WHAT MY HUSBAND DID NOT TELL YOU IS THAT AFTER EACH HURRICANE WE USED THIS HITCHIN POST TO FEED AND SHELTER THE EVACS. DURING RITA WE HOUSED AND FED 92 PEOPLE TWO MEALS A DAY FOR 5 WEEKS.
THE COUNTY LOOKED TO US TO RUN THIS SHELTER AND TAKE CARE OF NEEDS AND THE ENEMY KNEW IT. SO HE MADE SURE THE HITCHIN POST WAS DESTROYED.
PRAY FOR OUR CITY A LOT WAS DESTROYED.
THERE SEEMS TO BE VERY LITTLE COMPASSION WITH THIS STORM AND IT WAS WORSE THAN RITA IN OUR AREA.

I got a call for help from Pastor Lynn Godsey of the Metroplex Hispanic Pastor's Alliance. Pastor Javier Zuniga of Houston is the head of a Hispanic Pastor's Alliance there. They are one of the few churches with electricity, and many are coming there for shelter and food. They need basic food and toiletry items.

Please pray and please give.

I'm asking you to do as I will be doing when I finish sending out this email. Get on the phone and call pastors and businessmen in your area and ask them to send a special offering to one of these ministries. Somebody Cares has the greatest network and will distribute the money to the place of the greatest need. Unlike the Red Cross, every single dime of this will go to the need, not to salaries or administration.

I John 3:17-18 "But whoever has the world's goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and in truth."

The love of God dwells in you -- there is no doubt. You just didn't know. Now you do. Thanks for doing what you can.

You are correct in your statments....We saw it coming....Not only did I have a dream about it, my BIL had a dream about it this year....We talked to people about it and people got prepared....But you know we sound an alarm to prepare and all the sensationalization put around things to make things either appear more holy or more than what it TRULY is is not from God...

On a side note: It's only common sense that one should not poke fun at such events so soon. People died and lost their life and good hearted nature is not called for at this time, that is where the sensitivity comes into play...

Divers tackle debris as Ike recovery gears up By JUAN A. LOZANO, Associated Press Writers
21 minutes ago

GALVESTON, Texas - Divers prepared Wednesday to clear debris clogging navigation routes into Houston and crews kept up the search for bodies on the coast, as residents entered a fifth day after Hurricane Ike without reliable access to power or gasoline.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff was due back in Texas for a second time to check on recovery efforts.

In Houston, most people in the nation's fourth-largest city remained without power, making it tough to track the latest information on where to pick up supplies. For most, the electricity wasn't expected back on for at least another week.

In Scott Terrace, a neighborhood of one-story wood frame houses, Myrle Smith, 59, said many of her neighbors were old or sick and didn't have cars to get to an emergency food distribution site less than one and a half miles away. Trees, massive limbs and garbage littered the area and there was no power

"Nobody came on our street to see if we needed ice or water. It's not fair," Smith said. "I'm worried, I'm worried."

Things were far worse in Galveston and other gulfside communities hit by Hurricane Ike. Those who stayed through the storm's arrival last weekend have few neighbors, almost no services and little sense of when that might change.

Despite primitive conditions, thousands sought to get back onto Galveston Island on Tuesday after officials opened a brief "look and leave" window so people could check on their homes and businesses. The resulting traffic jam backed up for miles and led officials to call off the temporary return just a few hours later.

And there are still about 250 survivors on the nearby Bolivar Peninsula. But they don't want to leave, even though officials insist they must go so the cleanup can safely begin.

"It is pretty rough conditions over there," said County Judge Jim Yarbrough, the top elected official in Galveston County. "We have access issues for delivery of emergency services. Our goal is to vacate the peninsula."

Officials at the Texas attorney general's office are trying to figure out how to legally force the holdouts to leave, Yarbrough said. The peninsula is too damaged for residents to stay, and with no gas, no power and no running water, there is also concern about diseases spreading.

Ike's death toll officially stood at 49, with most of the deaths coming outside of Texas. Authorities may never know if, or how many, people who tried to weather the storm were washed out to sea. So far, there are no confirmed fatalities, but Yarbrough said he didn't think that would hold.

"I don't doubt we will find some more fatalities," he said. "We have folks out there looking. But so far, not having any more (fatalities) countywide truly is a miracle."

Authorities blamed all nine deaths in the Houston area on debris-clearing work done after the storm, house fires or carbon monoxide poisoning from generators. Dozens of others had been treated for carbon monoxide poisoning, health officials said.

Residents again waited in line for hours Tuesday at the nearly two dozen supply distribution centers set up in Houston to hand out food, water and ice. Mayor Bill White complained the Federal Emergency Management Agency wasn't bringing in the supplies fast enough, and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett had personally taken over coordination of efforts to hand out relief supplies.

They'll get to voice their concerns directly to Chertoff when he visits. He'll first travel to Houston and meet with local officials before visiting Galveston. In the meantime, FEMA officials in Houston said they are refining glitches in the relief effort and delivering millions of meals and water every 24 hours.

White eased the city's curfew, now from midnight to 6 a.m., but urged motorists to stay off the streets after dark. So far, about 100 people have been cited for curfew violations and 94 have been arrested for looting, authorities said.

Rhonda Clayburn, who lives in a trailer park in the Houston suburb of Klein, said she's been told it could be six weeks before she has running water again. Her family has been using an aquarium to flush the toilet.

"We have a lot of people in here. It's going to get nasty with no toilets," she said. "How do we live without a toilet for a month?"

FEMA spokesman Marty Bahamonde said FEMA will begin paying for 30 days of hotel expenses for homeowners whose houses are uninhabitable. FEMA plans to reimburse the hotels directly.

A lion was trapped in the sanctuary of a Baptist church in Crystal Beach, and a tiger was on the loose after escaping from an exotic pet sanctuary. An official with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the tidal surge from Ike left a "sheen" of oil on the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge, potentially endangering rare birds and other animals.

Smaller communities also felt the sting of shortages. Handwritten cardboard signs warned travelers in a remote area near Webster "Help No Power" and "No Power, Water Well, And Septic is Down, Please Don't Forget."

York and Teresa Linebarger, who live near the signs, said a neighbor put them up to remind people about the three weeks the community endured without power after Hurricane Alicia in 1983.

"This area is so secluded, most people don't even know it's here," said Teresa Linebarger, 60.

But her husband noted that compared to the people on the Bolivar Peninsula, "we're in pretty doggone good shape."

The Lonestar
A single star
Two long stripes
And colors of
Red, blue, white
Represent this barren land
With rolling hills
And plains of sand
Coyotes howl

Rattlesnakes hiss

Panthers prowl

And it all gives me pure bliss
For I am a Texan
True and strong
And there ain't nothin' wrong
With a single star
Two long stripes
And colors of
Red blue white
