Good morning everyone. I need some help from you all and prayers.
Lately I have been falling short of God and not doing what he needs me to be doing. I do not attend church anymore, pray to him about things, talk to him, or read his word. For some reason I feel like I never have time for him with my job, kids, wife, and schooling. I have been getting depressed in life and do not like my new job too much and I been looking for a new one. I also been yelling at my kids alot because they are not behaving and not listening to me. My daughter tells me what she is going to do and does not do what is asked of her. She is 4. My son is having problems with speech and we are working with the state to get him up to par with things. I do not sleep well anymore and up at crazy times at night as my son and daughter are always crashing in bed with us. He is two by the way. Any suggestions for help and please pray for me.

Maybe start with treating your young children the way that you would like your own father to treat you. It is a unique chance to activate Jesus inside you and imagine how Jesus would treat your children. It never fails.

I been thinking this also. I just need to get back in Christ and start talking to him again.

I would recomend putting effort into finding at least one other godly man who is mature in the Lord at least as much or more than you are at this point. Find a man or men that can encourage and counsel you in God. Find people who love God and care about your welfare.

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ec 4:9-12.

So much good comes out of simple godly relationships between godly men. I personally go through similar things at times also. I have a lot of small children too. It can be overwhelming at times. I have to remember how influential I am in their lives. How would Jesus discipline and train this specific child? God will always give the wisdom, through the Bible, revelation and even our own trial and error.

Eli,
That is something I have not thought about. Wow such a simple answer. This I will have to do. Thank you for your response.

Brother duke! I think you, with out knowing are on a good start, you are working and providing for your family! You might not be perfact at doing it but you are doing it!

I sometimes get into what I call, STINKY THINKING! This can be changed, but not with out you making a point to change it. I first look at what I have throught a more postive out look, cutting others out that might be moving me in a negivtive way.

Like...you have a job! There are some that dont! I dont like my job, but i can do it and there are positive parts about it. what kind of work do you do? Joseph, in the bible was sold into slavey and force to do work he didnt like, not even getting payed to do it, but his additude made a point of getting him favor, ones out look is what makes or brakes a persons future. I even had my boss make a point to say I do a good job. When I need a good word put in for that next job, I will have it from him! See, it is how you look at it, most dont want to be around others that dont seem to have something good to give them. If you are postive in your out look of like you will draw others to you, making is posible for that new, great, exsiteing job to be around the corner!

I thought that if I had a moment, like washing my hands, I take that time to pray, if i am vaccuming...I pray...

I was in the middle of typing and had to get off...

We all go through things like this brother. Just know that you are loved, very much! Learn to always talk with him on going. I felt silly at first when I started, but I go most of the time, as the risk of others thinking I talk to myself, and talk with him, some things and great. He can handle them all!

Some of these things are semple to fix, but some have a hard time with because there is a spiritual restaining holding them back from doing what is right, this comes to some in many diffrent ways, others in very simple ones, prayer covering releases that. I will stand with you in prayer that you are freed from this, In Jesus name, amen!

I was once in the same situation as you. But then I learned a lesson...make God first priority in your life and all else follows. And in Gods Book contains such words of wisdom that speak to us today. And might I suggest that you may be getting more tense and angry because you are trying to do to much and are not getting the proper rest? You will be in my prayers.

The enemy's strategy is always to divide and conquer.

As such, Eli's suggestion is top notch. Find another believer, or a group, where you can be encouraged and accountable and covered in prayer. We all need that, even if we don't have time or the desire to attend formal church services because they often don't provide us with the fellowship we really need.

Be encouraged, and be blessed. My husband goes through the same things, and I constantly pray for him and his relationship with God. Recruit your wife to back you up. And back her up as well. Because between you and your spouse and the Holy Spirit, a three-fold cord is never easily broken. smile.gif

Sleeping is very important two things to help you sleep with out drugs. Valerian tea get some organic valerian root put 1 tsp into just boiled water and let seep for at least 20 minutes add honey and milk it really helps you sleep (it doesnt smell so good!) But it gives you an awesome nite of sleep. The first couple days you may feel a little groggy but that goes away, another thing is Gaba 750 mg, Source naturals is what I have. I dont take them together I would start with the valerian first to get you back to sleeping good. Depression might be a part of your feeling also so you need to take DHA or fish oil: there are packets that taste like orange. My nutritionist told me to take 4 for depression and it really helps. Coromega is the name. I had stopped taking them and I was back to feeling depressed again and I blew up recently and I was beating myself up over it and the Lord just loved me through it. We are His and satan seeks to convince us otherwise, we arent perfect yet!!! So just rest in the Lord and dont feel driven to strive to be better. Just keep asking the Lord to be the author and finisher of your faith! and have faith He will be! But do try and make time to read the Word! I will pray also for you dear brother!! Remember satan is the accuser of the breathren.

Dear JDuke..

All here have wonderful advise.. and you came to the right place for prayer.. many here are prayer warriors..

It is truly one of the things I pray about and for.. people who have far many duties and responsibilities than I.. and their walk with the Lord..
I cannot imagine being a full time employee and a mother/or/father .. and maintaining a walk in the Spirit that is productive. And so know, that
even before you asked.. you were one of the "unknowns" in my prayers..

I am thankful that the Lord is convicting and calling you..
He has done that for me.. not very long ago, reminding me of the Virgins who had no oil.. I do NOT want to be found wanting.. and so I am
deepening my walk, and relationship with the Lord..

How merciful, how loving, how jealous of us is our God.

When you cannot sleep, take it as a calling of the Spirit to come and spend some time with Him. The blessings will be beyond words..and then, may you have restful sleep.

Please know, you are not alone.. many brothers and sisters struggle as you do, but be thankful that it is the Lord who is drawing you. The road is difficult (because of our flesh) .. but it is necessary.. and the end I know will be glorious! .. because HE IS Faithful

Dear JDuke,

Talk about timing, I just posted this song on a different thread, but I believe that you will feel the message in your heart as well as the guidance He offers to you. Hope you can hear it and find comfort.
Yolanda Adams, Open up my heart

Stay strong in the Lord, He is so good to us. For it is when we are weak that He makes us strong.

2 Corinthians 12

[9]And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

[10]Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Dear brother I will pray that Our Gracious Lord ministers to you and keep you and your family. Remember we humans fall short but He does not.

Love to you in Christ Jesus Our Lord and Savior.
