The Kingdom Of God And You part 5
Where our heart (mind) is that is where our treasure will be also
Mathew 19: 16-22,23-26 – Then Jesus to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.” “And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God”.
How does one see or enter the kingdom of God?
John 3:3,5 – Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly I say to you unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
At times the people of God will suffer for the sake of the gospel
Acts 14: 22 – Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
The kingdom of God is not of this time or age
John 18: 36 – Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this @world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews, but now My kingdom is not from here.”
@World: Greek word Kosmos, Age or Society
Parables about the kingdom of God
Mathew 13: 24-33 – Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in the field. “But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. “But when the grain had sprouted and produce a crop, then the tares also appeared. “So the servants of the owner came and said to him. “Sir, did we not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares? “He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’ “But he said, no, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. ‘Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
The kingdom of God is like leaven
Luke 13: 20-21 – And again He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leaven.”
The parable of the land owner
Mathew 21: 33-43 – “Another parable: there was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. “Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. “And the vinedressers took his servants beat one, kill one, and stone another. “And again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. “Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ “But when the vine dressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ “And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and kill him. “Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?” They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.” Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes’? “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.”
Jesus command His disciples to preach the gospel of the kingdom
Mathew 10: 7 – “And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Luke 9: 2,60-62 – He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick. Jesus said to them, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
(Acts 8: 12) – But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
(Acts 19: 8) – And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God.
(Acts 20: 25) – And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.
(1Corinthians 6: 9-10) – Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
(1Corinthians 15: 24,50) – Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
(Hebrews 1: 8) – But to the son He says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
(Hebrews 12: 28) – Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear.
