Hubble discovered that the stars farthest from earth had the greatest red shift........which means ........the most distant stars are accelerating away from earth with the greatest rate of acceleration.

what does this mean?

However, one must be careful to be accurate in what claims one makes; the red-shift does not necessarily prove that the Earth is at (or very near) the center of the Universe. Wouldn't they be accelerating away from the Earth because the Earth is the point at which you looked at this from?
I don't know how the Earth can be considered the center. That would be very hard to know because we can't even see as far as the Universe spreads yet.
And our Solar System (where our Earth is) is certainly not the center of our Galaxy. We are located on one of the outer arms.
And I'm thankful for that considering that there is a HUGE Black Hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.

great, now i have scientific proof for my thesis. funny enough, my thesis is called centre stage! whether earth is centre of the universe i still have to go and see on your link, but according to the Bible we are really the centre of creation, everything was created for us in order to enjoy and glorify God for it. all creation sings out His glory.

I don't know how the Earth can be considered the center. That would be very hard to know because we can't even see as far as the Universe spreads yet.
Well, because all distant stars appear to be accelerating away from the Earth. This is similar to what might happen in an explosion, where from the center all the material would be moving away from that location.

The issue is whether the Earth is at or near the center of the Universe, a vastly larger thing than a "mere" galaxy. (I've also wondered how astronomers could discern the Earth's relative location within the Milky Way.)

Yes, a handy pivot, which will have no bearing on us, since the re-creation (renewal?) of the heavens and the Earth will take place FAR before the Earth would end up in a black hole, and before the Sun would expand and ultimately burn out.
