I think that we should just quit stressing and fighting over how we got here and focus on doing what we can to improve the world before we leave.

As a former athiest, I can explain why. There's the historical significance of religion, attempts to uphold separation of church and state, and the fact that many Christians treat Athiests slightly worse than coakroaches. Trust me, the hellfire and damnation speeches don't work, loving others regardless of their faith or orientation does in bringing people to Christ.
