15 employees at French nuclear plant contaminated amid scrutiny of powerful industry

PARIS - Electricite de France says 15 workers were exposed to radioactive contamination while carrying out maintenance at a nuclear plant in the French Alps.

France's nuclear industry is under increased scrutiny following uranium leaks earlier this month. France depends on nuclear power for the majority of its electricity.

In the latest incident, the electricity giant says "traces of radioactive elements" were found during standard monitoring of workers at the Saint-Alban plant in the Isere region.

Electricite de France says doctors examined the workers after the contamination was found and ruled that it had "no consequences" for their health. The utility is searching for the cause of the contamination.

The incident occurred Friday. It was announced Monday.

This is the second incident with a nuclear reactor, as earlier in the week a reactor in Avignon, in the Rhône valley, Southeast France was found to leak water.

Since another reactor leaked water, the French government ordered the shutdown of ALL nuclear reactors in France. Also all reactors were to be inspected.
On top of that, swimming and fishing in a nearby river was forbidden for only TWO WEEKS (as if the situation is clean in 2 weeks. The French should know that radiactive material has entered their bio-systems. Radio-activity spreads through every life form, and will enter ground water at one point. Not only will water and the food chain be contaminated, but also the soil. This contamination will be dangerous over 200 years, regarding the halftimes of nuclear material being very long.
During this ordered emergency inspection, two more reactors (Lyon and this one) have been found leaking.

The French public in general is unaware of this and SHOULD BE WARNED IF NOT BY THE PROPER AUTHORITIES BUT THEN THROUGH THE MEDIA.

Also, this week was announced that 24 kilograms of semtex were stolen from a fortress near Lyon. The fortress had "recently" been approved to function as an ammunition storage, for it met the requirements for ammunition storage. However... SECURITY was only planned to be installed in 2009!!

DUHUHUH

It be noted, that in the Lockerbie airplane crash terrorist attack, 0.5 kilograms of semtex was used.

All in all, there has been semtex stolen to blow up 48 planes.

Sarkozy is now going to Ireland to convince the Irish to accept the Lisbon Treaty (concept).
The Irish are indignated by the fact that Sarkozy had simply proposed to order a SECOND REFERENDUM. This is considered BULLYING.

The fact that France is now leader of the EU during the next 6 months, brings back memories of Napoleon. Same tone of voice, and same insensitivity when it comes to "Liberté".

Irish people, with you are the dutch and the french common folks! We said NO and they went on anyway.
God will hold them accountable!
