I have not heard nor read any thing of major significance from the Middle East (i.e. sabre rattling from Iran)--Is this the calm before the storm? I am interested in your thoughts of what's to come next as far as dealing with Iran. Do you think there will be an attack by any of the countries (Iran, Israel, U.S.) and if so, what's your time frame?

Having lived in New Orleans for years-experienced the same thing with Katrina.

Months, weeks, an a day before the mandatory evacuation itself, everything seemed calm and goody-goody, like the city and everyone in it was going GREAT.

Then all of a sudden-BOOM! When I turned on the news, I thought I was watching a disaster movie.

Ditto 9/11-everything just seemed goody-goody and peaceful until that fateful morning-couldn't believe my eyes right before I went to school that morning.

This has pretty much been the pattern this entire millenium-you can't even expect the unexpected b/c it'll hit you straight in the mouth at any given moment.

I think someone, (prob Israel) may attack Iran between now and Apr 09. I understand the weather window closes from late Oct to Mar-Apr. Also, Pres. Bush gave a speech 10 days ago (portion of speech on Fox News) in which he strongly recommended no one attack Iran at this time (was this a message required by ongoing US negotiations w Iran re: oil prices, etc? [if there are such negotiations]). (Also the US apparently believes the Iranians are 6-12 months behind where the Israelis think they are.) I agree that any attack will likely set into motion a chain of events that no one participant can predict (a la 1914??).

The Iranians are once again threatening to close the strait of Hormuz (and I believe they can, at least temporarily).

Did anyone take note of the report from former Iraqi military members that IAF planes are using US bases in Iraq? It was carried on foxnews.com last week. Of course, the Iraqi gov't denied it was true, but I wonder - especially with the photo of Pres. Talabani shaking the hand of the Israeli Defense Minister the week before.

I think craziness is still rapidly increasing.

There is probably only one real country that is standing in the way of Israel taking out Iran's nuclear facilities right now and that is the Bear to the North.
BUt as we know, "I will put hooks in your jaws and draw you out"

I really don't think this is calm at all, I think storm clouds are all about us. Economic storms chief among them.

Maybe that is where the calm is...if you watch the news you don't hear everything that is going on. I purposely dig for it, as most of you on this site. I so appreciate all of you that keep us informed...it has become such a thirst for me. I love matching it up with scripture and seeing prophecy come to pass.

Same here! Am an early riser and get my news "fix" early in the day. Don't even turn on the TV anymore, nothing there. Takes a while longer, but you guys are my "news" and more.

As Joel R says in Epicenter, the rest of the world looks at things with several lenses. This board applies one more, the lens of Scripture. Its only then that things come into focus for me.

Its very possible. Done alot of studying on that. its another scenerio on america falling from a world superpower. Supposedly in the days after 9/11 Some operatives cells with the help of the Mexican mafia, smuggled in some suitcase nukes. with the help of Russian ex-spetznas (special forces) are maintaining their "shelf life". I done much research on "American Hiroshima" its Bin Ladens ultimate plan to destroy our economy & position in the world. Hence why they hit our Trade Center. Just be wary of "datesetting" The Bible talks of it. Nobody knows if they may hit or not but its a very real possibility.

Seems like everything always comes back to the love of money, doesn't it? Causes so much trouble in the world...

As for the calm, I don't know that I necessarily see it with the headlines so much as I feel it in my spirit. Despite things heating up in many areas, I feel a peace about my current situation and about world events. When that changes, it's usually to an anticipation and eagerness for Jesus to return.

Maybe it just seems calm, because all of the headlines have been saying the same thing for a few weeks now. It's as if we're waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. So, for that reason, it may seem calm. But I would compare it more to being in the eye of a hurricane. We've already experienced some of the storm, but being in the eye, things are calm - for a very short time. Once the "eye" passes, the storm resumes with more fury than before.

Regardless, we need to keep praying, whatever may happen.

of moral contamination and fear. Shake off the fallen-world’s ways and look up to the spiritual hill of the Lord and lift up our spiritual antennas to receive the bolts of lightening power of faith to believe God is on our side, if we are on His side. Throw off caution and get out of the slow moving river and set sail into the jet stream of the Spirit of almighty and living God. We are the agent of God in the world. We are the ones to call forth the power of God and multitudes of holy angels. Justice, dearly beloved of the Lord, it is no longer time to be playing in the river as kids. It is time to grow up stand on the word of God be filled with the Spirit of God and stand with our Father as mature sons ready to speak His words and be clothed in righteousness.
