I guess it is beginning to be demonstrated...oil prices are affecting business dynamics...here in CDA Air Canada is laying off hundreds of flt attendants...airlines are cutting costs by cutting services and routes and closing terminal facilities..even disposing of certain inflight benefits that are now considered superfluous...all to take off weight from the planes...apparently 1 pound saves $13000 in one year...on another front if you own an SUV you may as well take it to the grave with you..they have very little resale value...folks are reconsidering their holiday plans and driving is not so attractive nowadays...I suspect this is the tip of the iceburg...I may soon find out why I had peace when I bought my Chevy Avalanche...a false peace? I shall see...I wonder if there is such a thing as misguided peace. I find myself personally not feeling threatened by the upcoming lilelihood of a financial breakdown in the economy of the world and this domain in which I reside...but I do know the Lord has kept me from many a storm...The thing is there is a world of company in any downward spiral. I do believe God wants to prove to the world His active word.

Jam 5:1 Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you]. Jam 5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Jam 5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Jam 5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Jam 5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Jam 5:6 Ye have condemned [and] killed the just; [and] he doth not resist you. Jam 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

I got this word once a few years ago,...

Financial Blessing

You have spoken My word in faith...Let the Lord be magnified which hath pleasure in the prosperity of His servants! For this faithfulness I will also magnify you! For your humility I will also exalt you. Lift My name on high and sing My praises! I will deliver you from the enemy of lack. This shall no more be your estate in life for I am calling you to a place of blessing. You will serve Me with your increase. I delight in giving good gifts to My children! I will turn the resource of the wicked over into your hands. Hearken to My word and do not despair in times of adversity. I will rain down My riches in glory upon My faithful flock who have a heart to do My will! I do not mind the personal advancement of My sheep who praise and exalt Me in their discipleship. I will not refrain My hand from blessing their ability to bring in abundance to further My righteous cause! You are the precious fruit of the earth. Rejoice that your vats overflow! Your floors are full and the years eaten by the locust, the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the palmerworm will be restored to you! The fruit of your labor shall no longer be devoured. I am the Lord, great and mighty is My name! I will secure the just desires of my glorious and peculiar people. Enjoy the gifts of Heaven and the grace to be perfect in praise from a pure heart! I am the basket and store of provision for every perfected work. This is the decisive hour and My call has gone forth. Heed the call and prepare for reward. Live a fruitful life and glory in God. I am your shield and exceeding great reward!

Signet...

Yes, I certainly see your point; it does seem "He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword..." as in the book by John Steinbeck's, "The Grapes of Wrath", during the time of the Great Depression.

But the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” is such a riveting song, the lyrics are simply PERFECT. If this song isn’t divinely inspired, then my name is SpongeBob SquarePants. And, the most passionate rendition I think was Judy Garland’s performance in 1963 on her TV show; I will never forget it, each word she sung was filled with an undeniable spirit of conviction, honor and truth…

I also thought this public school version was very moving as well…

i agree that the song was/is inspired...

just so ya know...that ain't me, i don't wear a bonnet.

just kiddin'. i don't wear a bonnet, but i had to get a helmet
to ride my bike. i don't like those bug looking beatle helmets
so i got a round one...when i got home it made me laffffff.
it was a jeans and jewels Hannah Montana helmet.

i took my first ride on the new bike today. it hurt good, but it hurt!

and these things that are coming to pass will hurt, too. and they will
press us and we will seek His face and know His goodness.

blessings,

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH NOT DRIVING CARS?

I know that Europe is better set up for people who walk. At least the UK is. Not everyone has a car or can drive a car or can afford to drive a car. I don't drive here and when my husband is gone to sea I walk everywhere or take public transport. Yes even to the food shops and I carry all my food home. This requires multiple trips to get everything I need but I'm used to it I guess now and am known to walk up to 10 miles a day (sometimes more though that's not real fun) though not always that much. It can be done if needs require it. And three cheers to whomever said they started riding their bike. Think how great your legs will look in a few months. Exercise isn't necessarily evil though things like aerobics classes certainly are tongue.gif

Rather simplistic...the economy is driven by transportation. If we are not driving or flying neither are those who deliver us our goods to market. You would not need to drive to work. Why bother?

line from Norman Blakes song "Jordan is a hard road to travel"-I dont know but I think Im right the auto ruined the country, lets go back to the horse and buggy and try to save some money. A really great song and it makes me wonder how did we ever get along without cars and planes. Im sure its over the top but I have always thought if man were supposed to fly we would have been created with wings.(I don't like heights either) rolleyes.gif

Conflicting ideologies would prevent any real withdrawing back to a time and economy of rural agriculturalism. Even China is coming out of that. The real answer is in something that allows mobility without loss of energy or expense of energy. I am thinking that will come. Perhaps safe nuclear. But I also think the greed of man and the war machine is just now preventing it. Every drop of wealth that can be gleaned will be gleaned. Oil rich countries love to be able to capitolize on the much need oil...and their strangle hold of oil possession. There may be a road less travelled for now. Men of means will secumb to mean men and there will be diffusion of goods and services to a more elementary existence perhaps. Condoleezza will have to eat rice. But a futuristic view does not include manure sweepers on the streets. Nor milk delivered to your door. Nor grist mills operated by water power. Man has come too far from Babel to return. Pardon me while I phoine a rickshaw ...I need to go...there is a public guilotining this afternoon can't be late...

Ahmadinejad says he'd welcome direct talks with US in 'near future'

TEHERAN, Iran

Iran's president tells state television he would welcome direct bilateral talks with the United States under certain conditions.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he would hold talks with Washington but only if the two parties are treated as being on "equal footing." He did not elaborate.

The Iranian leader told state TV late Monday that such talks are possible "in the near future." He did not say whether any definite plans were under way.

Looks to me like one president talking to another. I note the Iranians have "state TV." Now is that a voice of integrity or what? Your pursuit of reality is checkered and tainted by your own instability. Any fool knows where Iran stands without any bilateral talks to suposedly clear the air. There is a song about giving a daisy a day...they want to give a nuke a day and for you that spells OK you would be arrested for insurrection if you hit landfall in the USA any time soon...tripping on your gown as you go...
