Citizens residing in north, central Israel report seeing object travel from east to west at great speed; some say it made shrieking sound 'like a missile'

A meteor was seen passing over Israel Tuesday night in many parts of the country. Ynet was flooded with calls from citizens residing in central Israel, the Sharon region, Jerusalem and the Krayot cities who reported seeing the object crossing the sky at approximately 8:15 pm. Some witnesses said they heard a shrieking sound.



Eyewitness Ranik Kortzman said, "I was in my balcony when I suddenly saw an object with two trails passing over Kfar Saba from east to west. It was travelling at great velocity and made a shrieking sound – like a missile."


Ram Raphaeli of Kfar Yedidya in the Sharon told Ynet "we were on the roof when my son turned my attention to a tiny object that was passing above us. It appeared to be a meteor with a trail. It was traveling horizontally at a relatively low altitude. We didn't hear any noise, but it flew by at great speed."


Yigal Pat-El, chairman of the Israeli Astronomical Association and the director of the observatory in Giv'atayim told Ynet that "meteors enter the earth's atmosphere all the time. This is not a rare occurrence.


"The reason we were able to observe this meteor is because it was relatively large. Most meteors don't weigh more than 1/1000 gram, and this one apparently weighed a few grams," he said.

California experienced something that they called a orange firey object
and it was seen as far away as out of state. Officially a meteor...

The story is all but lost, however, someone pointed me to a website
that it was posted on...the name of the "webby" is Dan Quayle?

Anyway, it was there but NO OTHER news of this "happening".

See, they have made all of these weapons and forward momentum will cause them to use them. And you know that once a missile is off the launch pad you can't call it back. What goesup must come down You can destroy it by self-destruction and gravity will make the pieces fall to the earth. Now, in Israel and California they reported seeing something. Believe me if it was an actual missile going over Israel, that is a violation of airspace, the sirens would have gone off, and The state of Israel just tested an intercepter and you would have seen a display of fireworks in the sky and the war would have started and the sky would have been fiery glowing red.
I don't believe any further reports of any missile firings or sightings of missiles or hearing screaming sounds because I have no fear; I know the fear they are trying to create. I want to hear baby cardinals chirping wildly at their mothers to get food. I want to see horses galloping in the field. I want to eat my food in peace.

One can ascribe greatness to a meteor flashing over Israel or one can say it happens all the time in sundry areas of the world. If it was an instant of time that has come and gone why have any special regard beyond the fact it occured? I do not think we have to see God or the devil or an evil mankind in every stellar event.

This is more apt to give a message.....and it could be in the cards...it would create many instances of horror for many "deserving" nations and groups ...wormwood revisited...

The story really just goes to show the heightened state of alert that the Israeli people are in, which is the reason I started the topic. Rod of GOD's chastisement? oh, probably not. Simple space rock flying through the air and burning up? Yes, indeed. gr82bsaved

Iran has test fired nine long- and medium-range missiles, including one which it has previously said could reach Israel and US bases in the region, state media reported on Wednesday.



The tests occurred at a time of increased tension between Iran and Israel over Tehran's disputed nuclear program, which the West fears is aimed at making bombs. Iran says its nuclear program is only for power generation.

State Press TV said the missiles tested by Iran's Revolutionary Guards included a "new" Shahab 3 missile, which officials have said could reach targets 1,250 miles away.


On Tuesday, an aide to Iran's Supreme Leader was quoted as saying the Islamic Republic would hit Tel Aviv, US shipping in the Gulf and US interests around the world if it was attacked over its nuclear activities.


The comments intensified a war of words that has raised fears of military confrontation and helped boost world oil prices to record highs in the past few weeks.

Leaders of the Group of Eight rich countries expressed serious concern at the proliferation risks posed by Iran's nuclear program.

In a statement issued after G8 leaders met in Hokkaido, northern Japan, the grouping urged Tehran to suspend all uranium enrichment related activities.


French President Nicolas Sarkozy said major world powers had decided to send European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana to Iran for talks on an incentives package they offered last month to induce Tehran to change its nuclear policy.


Sarkozy did not say when Solana would travel to Tehran. Iran formally replied on Friday to the offer by the United States, France, Britain, China, Russia and Germany.


France said Iran's response had ignored the world powers' demand for a suspension of uranium enrichment before talks on implementing the package – a condition rejected on Monday as "illegitimate" by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.


In Prague, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said there were ways that Iran might wish to talk to Solana or others in order to get that suspension to take place.

Judging from when the meteor sighting happened and the report of Iranian missle test launch, the sighting is highly probable it was a missle launch.

Futhermore, based on the the reaction of the US State Department, it is highly likely the US government knows that it was a missle that flew over Israel that evening based on intel collected on the missle telemetry.

Both the US and Israel are in the position to know with very classified details the highly provacative nature of the Iranian test to back their protest.
