AUSTRALIAN POLICE GET SPECIAL POWERS AGAINST POPE PROTESTERS

"To make something that causes inconvenience to people the basis for a criminal offense is both unnecessary and repugnant," said the president of the New South Wales Bar Association, Anna Katzmann.

The presence of someone wearing the clothes or insignia of another religion could be seen as annoying or inconvenient, as could the presence of protesters, Katzmann said in a statement on behalf of the lawyers' group.

"If I were to wear a T-shirt proclaiming that 'World Youth Day is a waste of public money' and refuse to remove it when an officer of the Rural Fire Service asks me to, I would commit a criminal offense," she said.

Just to let you know no one is saying why these special powers where given but a lot of people are not happy and as i said we wil be praying that the Gods name is not mocked

it all starts on the 12th of july and the police are going to be out in force the popes bullet proof car was flown in and is under raps weighting for the pope to arive


the chassers where warned to stay away from world youth day and dont try the same stunt they tried when we had apec

but the guys from chassers said we will do as we please

the main leader got out dressed as osama bin laden


i am going to write to the chassers telling them please do something these guys crack me up

they poke fun at our prime minister and polaticans

they also did a stunt where they had one of the guys from the team walking around sydney pulling people up and then writting out fines for the t shirts they had on

so the goverment had to warn the public of australia it will not be the chassers team pulling you up but you will be fined for wearing an offensive t shirt by a real police officer



sevral groups will be protesting these new special powers wher introduced to keep these protestors off the street

we have a big gay community in padington and what these gays wear is more offensive then what i see on the t shirts normal australians wear



its already got the australian community in up roar and the catholic church is doing its best to distance its self by saying we did not ask for the special powers to be given to the Australian police

i say yeh right


we are mad that this can be done for the pope but when bishop td jakes was invited to speak in australia in 2005 there wher no special powers given to the australian police or did any offer off prottection was given to bishop td jakes he flew to australia by him self he had no body gaurds at all and went back to texas the same way


and its like this with any pastor who visits or is invited to speak in Australia

the christians in canberra have opened up their homes and people are offering to do what they can

i will be looking at going out with sevral guys and we wil do what we can to reach out and evangelize
