California Hit by “Unprecedented” Lightning Storm 1dsz5e4.gif

June 24, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com

While parts of Southern California endure a heat wave that is breaking decade-long records, northern California just got lit up by an “unprecedented” lightning storm. Is California suffering a weather curse?

In some sections of Southern California the thermometer breached 119 degrees Fahrenheit last week. The scorching temperatures withered vegetation and sent long lines of traffic heading toward the beaches.

More ominously, the triple-digit temperatures overwhelmed parts of the electrical grid, causing blackouts on Friday, as air conditioners drew record amounts of energy.

The record temperatures are exacerbating the dry conditions plaguing much of the state, which is currently suffering from two years of drought-like conditions.

But while the southern part of the state is baking under the sun, the northern part of the state is roasting over the fire.

An unforeseen weekend lightning storm ignited more than 800 wildfires according to California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection assistant regional chief Del Walters. “We didn’t get real lucky with this lightning storm. It wasn’t predicted … and so we got hammered.”

Walters says officials are continuing to locate new fires. He said the storm was “unprecedented” due to how long it lasted and the high number of lightning strikes, which numbered between 5,000 and 6,000.

After initially being informed on Sunday that over 520 fires were burning, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said it was “quite shocking” to learn that by Monday morning there were over 700 fires raging. Moments later an aide updated him with the latest total of 842. Governor Schwarzenegger has called for assistance from Nevada and Oregon to help contain the blazes that have burned thousands of acres and are threatening more than a thousand homes.

The rate at which disasters are piling up in California is leading commentators to conclude that the California dream is dead. Unfortunately, much of the media coverage continues to be obsessed with the red herring that is man-made global warming. For the real reason California is being cursed, read the articles “Is California Under a Curse?” and “California Disasters Continue—Why?” For information on what the Bible prophesies concerning the future role of earthquakes and lightning storms across the United States, read “God Punishes With Earthquakes” (Chapter Six of the book Isaiah’s End-Time Vision) by Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry. •

i think that California is rebuked/warned by God,,,,,,,,,because they legalized gay marriage, just a few days before the 800 fires.

California = Sodom and gomorah

the disasters are SIGNS FROM GOD.........SUPER-NATURAL

and the world is watching!.............the whole world sees the warning!

Lord Jesus, we praise Your Name.
Please save California and the world from our sins.
Have Mercy on us.

Jun 25, 2008

06/26/08 UPDATE

Our itinerary link has been updated at www.Elijah1.com and I am preparing to depart for the United States within a matter of days. Note the 8,000 lightning strikes in California this week which triggered 800 fires. This is a prophetic warning regarding to the urgency to intercede for the state of California this summer, especially as we enter into the month of August. Do not miss our prophetic conference in San Francisco during the week of 8/8/8, which will be held at the Voice of Pentecost (all seats free of charge). Thank you so much for your prayers after my recent fall down a flight of concrete stairs at 8:08 PM on June 15. I am recovering quickly. This fall at 8:08 could have been disastrous, but God intervened in the middle of the event.

Blessings,

Timothy Snodgrass

last year, right after the Governor signed approval of the gay text book agenda for
school aged children the fires hit Southern California. the year seems to be marked
by windstorms and wind more than any I can remember.

early heat like this, that produces tinder, anything combustible can happen
with disastrous events. pray that demoniacs are bound and that those that are
called out to pray for this state and the whole nation will find their way, protected,
and sheltered for the ministry of intercession God is calling forth.

may we stop futhering silliness and realize that the country will suffer consequences
from the coasts inward and from the middle outward...if California was a country
it would be just after Newport Beach(if it were a country) at about the 10th rank
the last I heard...

when catastophe touches the wallet, many will run to the bank, then church. that's
how we are...that's why we are at this time in history and prophecy. since God
has gracefully taken away all that I have had as required in my walk...i have
nothing to run to the bank for, or to the church. for He is with me as I raise
my hands in the night season and praise him for His perfection.

blessings from California.

THE SEVEN THUNDERS
So, if the entire state of California is supposed to be "cursed" because of one mere judge who legalized Gay Marriage for the state AGAINST THE VERY WILL OF THE MAJORITY OF CALIFORNIA CITIZENS, then what's the reason for Mid-America's multiple-state "curse" for the catastrophic floods? They didn't legalize Gay Marriage.

this is as pivotal as it gets to bring into focus what God is doing...

as in the days of Noah...

this isn't the only sin, it is sin that is given for the judgment of
God in Noah's time...and we readily see this because it is widely broadcast
and because it challenges traditional Biblical marriages. the judge is not
them, the judge is us. that is not saying that everyone that ever got
married heard from God, or that every marriage that ever was
happened with God's personal hand upon it, except to say that
everything that does happen is perfect beyond our understanding as
individuals, families, groups, cultures, societies...well
you already know this.

this is a physical manifestation that we are able to perceive. with our
care to pray and not judge, God can and will move in the honesty and
sincerety of our most earnest prayers for those caught up in sin and for
those that are bigots and intolerant and hate others. California is a
leader in ideas...and these ideas are an affront to God's purpose, so
is judging by self righteousness and calling that God's will.

Father, give us humility to pray with an open heart for the deliverance
of a hardened people as we see the "play" of California, let us pray for all people
to bend the knee and bow the head in teshuvah. Father, I ask you to deal
with my heart and allow me to be used of you. Cleanse me of my sins,
those secret ones that I don't realize are there and the ones not so secret...jealousy, self centeredness, and spirit of rejection. I confess these to you now. Help me to understand your love more deeply and pray from that place of rejoicing and freedom in You. Amen

This warning is not solely about gay marriage, even though to most Californian Christians it must be a comforting thought that then all evil would be reversed. This is far wider than that.

Hollywood is a seat of evil. I hear no californian talk about that. Then there is Silicon Valley. No need to point it all out.

But to think that this is restricted to the gay marriage act, would be shortsighted, showing a lack of introspection.

I grew up with movies featuring actors like Spencer Tracey, James Stewart, and most movies had several things in common:

1. they addressed human relationships in a variety of ways
2. absence of violence
3. happy end.

1 and 2 have been replaced nowadays with the most shallow blurry blatant display of violence, greed, hatred, jealousy.
And then you wonder why your kids shoot in the schools? Or wear kevlar vests and go through weapon detector gates?
That is hypocritical.

Good post Seven.

Don't listen to those that say its a curse.

Eventually when calmity falls on them too.....I hope they stop and wonder what they did.

California has many good people in it. I love that state. We need to pray that the drought ends soon.

It would be wiser to pray that abortion ends soon and that the nation repent of her wickedness:

Leviticus 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Hey, but when men have plenty of time on their hands...plenty of food...plenty of recreation time...they tend to rise up and play.

But that will soon change.

May the Lord truly have mercy upon us.

LOL now that is funny!

It seems to me when the word judgement is mentioned America is some where in the same sentence. Why is that? I can name quite a few countries but I will not because of the diversity of our members here that are 10 times worse than America yet when judgement is mentioned none of these countries are mentioned.

We should pray for this country and every country around the world not for their distruction but for their deliverance. What ever comes this way for us we need to pray for each other no matter where we are.

Watcher... I agree with you regarding prayer for deliverance. But perhaps the name America is synonymous with judgment because of its "mantle" to preach the gospel onto the world and its alliance with Israel, and God always judges His house FIRST, and the rest of the world will be judged later.

I just watched an older movie: "The Joshua Tree" and I thought... uhm... must be something to it.
Indeed it was: Todd Lundgren acting as a bullet dispenser, which reminded me of the one who shot a bullet in my fore head in my dream.
Even complete with a Lotus race car which was red and partly white reflecting sunlight.

This type of contortion will surely be met by God with more burning, as the export of bullets continues.

Joshua Tree is a real place in the desert...and it is also a type of tree/cactus.

There is a place at Joshua Tree that hosted a desert sunrise service for
Easter...I have been there as a child with parents, but not as an adult. The
hill side had statues depicting the different times in the ministry of Jesus.

I remember how beautiful the desert is as dawn is breaking, and after the
struggle to wake up and get up and go...how incredibly sweet the landscape
became...little desert flowers so delicate and so strong to endure.

ahh, blessings ya'll.

funny and amazing thing...

i had a dream recently that made the acrostic of TRACT. i began a word study
of that word and etymology. this led me to tractate as an extention and from that
i was looking at Zerahaim?(spelling check) This is about the blessings of seeds
and produce, productivity by extention. so seeing this again in the second picture
with the idea of seeds...and wilderness, is so rich.

the dream i had was the night before the flooding started in the Midwest. the
dream said this, "the rivers are coming together". i was overwhelmed at the
news the next morning and realized that there was an acrostic in the dream.
when this happens i take note and try to study and research it as far as i can...
from tractate i came to the Jewish tractates which contain 6 categories,
one being "seeds". that is the one i felt led to examine.

so, this seems to be a confirmation of sorts, for out of the mouths of two or three
all things will be confirmed, and it speaks directly to the desert/wilderness and
the seeds/productivity. it seems to me that this message is about the calling
we have to accept the wilderness coming out of the world system and in this
submission the seeds of our faith will germinate in others...
our life an intercession.

blessings upon you,

THE ENTIRE USA FLEET OF FIREFIGHTING AIRCRAFT ARE IN CALIFORNIA, FIGHTING A THOUSAND FIRES:

BIG SUR (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― Firefighters made slow progress Sunday against more than a thousand wildfires burning throughout Northern California, but forecasters said dangerous fire conditions would not relent anytime soon.

No new major fires had broken out by Sunday evening as fire crews inched closer to getting some of the largest blazes surrounded, according to the state Office of Emergency Services.

But a "red flag warning" - meaning the most extreme fire danger - was still in effect for Northern California until 5 a.m. Monday. And the coming days and months are expected to bring little relief.

Monterey County Fires

Residents of the Palo Colorado Canyon, from state Highway 1 to the Pico Blanco Boy Scout Camp, in Monterey County were advised to evacuate Sunday because of the Basin Complex Fire burning in the Los Padres National Forest near Big Sur.

"It is getting bigger. The fire is currently 32,476 acres -- it grew 2,433 acres since (Saturday)," said Ralph Orson, an Information Officer for Los Padres National Forest.

The wildfire in the Big Sur region has burned 42 square miles and destroyed 16 homes so far; 575 structures remained threatened. The blaze, which is still only 3 percent contained, has forced the closure of a 12-mile stretch of coastal Highway 1 and driven away visitors at the peak of the tourist season.

A mandatory evacuation remained in place for the Parlington Ridge area. An evacuation advisory for Carmel Valley Road from Arroyo Seco Road north to Tassajara Road and on both sides along the state Highway 1 corridor from Nacimiento-Fergusson Road north to the Nepenthe turnout was also still in place.

The American Red Cross set up a shelter at the Carmel Valley Middle School at 4380 Carmel Valley Road in Carmel for residents in need of assistance.

Lightning is believed to have started the fire, which has cost around $4.3 million to battle since the flames ignited around 1 p.m. on June 21. Steep terrain, heavy fuels, limited access, drought conditions and dry, gusty winds have made fighting the fire difficult.

More than 1,000 firefighters were battling the flames of the Basin Complex Fire, which was originally two separate wildfires that merged into one blaze.

Further south in the Los Padres forest, a separate wildfire - the Indians Fire - that started three weeks ago has scorched 92 square miles of remote wilderness. It was nearly 90 percent contained Sunday.

Firefighters made progress on the blaze burning 12 miles west of King City and expected to fully contain it by Thursday.

The Indians Fire has burned about 60,845 acres and has cost $38.4 million to fight. Sixteen firefighters have been injured since it started three weeks ago. Two residences and 13 outbuildings have been destroyed and 422 residences, four commercial buildings and 140 outbuildings remained threatened.

A fire evacuation advisory is in effect for parts of Carmel Valley Road. The Arroyo Seco area is under mandatory evacuation, according to Los Padres National Forest officials. An American Red Cross evacuation center was located at 490 El Camino Real at the Greenfield Elementary School in Greenfield.

There were 1,125 firefighting personnel assigned to the blaze Sunday. Firefighters were working on interior burning to reduce unburned vegetation.

Poor Air Quality Regionwide

The pair of Monterey County wildfires are among hundreds burning that have turned Northern California skies into an unhealthy stew of smoke and ash, forcing the cancellation of athletic events and other outdoor activities across the state.

Air quality districts from Bakersfield to Redding have issued health advisories through the weekend, urging residents to stay indoors to limit their exposure to the smoky air.

A health advisory issued by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District was extended through the weekend due to smoky conditions throughout the region.

"Throughout the weekend, we are expecting air quality in the Bay Area to continue to be impacted by the Northern California wildfires," said air district spokeswoman Lisa Fasano. "We will continue to issue air quality forecasts and advise the public to take appropriate precautions."

The air district has recorded elevated levels of particulate matter throughout the Bay Area, but especially in the eastern parts of the region and the Santa Clara Valley.

Air pollution readings across Northern California are two to 10 times the federal standard for clean air, said Dimitri Stanich, spokesman for the California Air Resources Board. Some areas experienced the worst air quality on record, with the smoke hanging like a fog down to ground level.

"When you have it on the scale we are seeing now, it is very dangerous to the general public health," Stanich said. "This is a very serious problem."

Changing weather brought smoke-clearing breeze and a little relief to some areas this weekend, but it could also bring lightning storms similar to the ones that ignited fires across Northern California a week ago.

Meanwhile, a U.S. Forest Service report said the weather would get even drier and hotter as fire season headed toward its traditional peak in late July and August.

Lower-than-average rainfall and record levels of vegetation parched by a spring drought likely mean a long, fiery summer throughout Northern California, according to the Forest Service's state fire outlook released last week.

Already the fires now burning will take weeks to months to fully bring under control, the report said.

Those blazes were mostly sparked by lightning storms that were unusually intense for so early in the season. But summer storms would likely grow even more fierce, according to the Forest Service.

"Our most widespread and/or critical lightning events often occur in late July or August, and we have no reason to deviate from that," the agency's report said.

The blazes have scorched more than 556 square miles and destroyed more than 50 buildings, said state emergency services spokesman Gregory Renick.

The fires have destroyed 47 structures and injured 85 people, and they continue to threaten nearly 10,000 homes, businesses and outbuildings, according to his department.

Bush Issues Disaster Declaration

On Saturday, President Bush issued an emergency declaration for California and ordered federal agencies to assist in firefighting efforts in Butte, Mendocino, Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, and Trinity. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had made the request on Friday.

But California officials said the federal declaration doesn't go far enough. State and local governments also need federal financing to cover their "extraordinary costs in fighting these fires and helping the thousands of Californians who have suffered unimaginable loss and damages," said Henry Renteria, director of the state Office of Emergency Services.

Federal aid now includes four Marine Corps helicopters, remote sensing of the fires by NASA, federal firefighters, and the activation of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"At this point what we're providing are the immediate resources needed to save lives," FEMA regional director Bob Fenton said in a conference call with reporters. "If there's additional requirements above and beyond that I'm sure the state will be bringing that to our attention."

More than 18,000 firefighters, nearly 1,700 fire engines and bulldozers, and more than 80 helicopters and aircraft were fighting more than 1,000 active fires Sunday, Renick said.

"The summer has just begun, and fire conditions will only get tougher," Ruben Grijalva, director of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, warned in a weekly radio address on behalf of the governor.

Areas hardest hit include Butte County, where 31 fires have burned 19 square miles and threatened 1,200 homes; Mendocino County, where 121 fires have burned 45 square miles and threatened 900 homes; and Shasta-Trinity counties, where about 160 fires have burned 58 square miles and threatened 230 homes.

And what about those ice storms that hit Iowa this spring? Not to mention the rains.

Amos 4:7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. 8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

Now would be a good time to repent and return to God.

Rivers of innocent, aborted blood are flowing in the land. Immorality reaches a new high every other week.

Our nation is on a downward spiral of judgment. Voices to cry unto her are being raised up.

May we heed the Lord's mercy before the headlines read:

MAJOR EARTHQUAKE STRIKES...

MAJOR TERRORIST ATTACK STRIKES...

In Christ,

Mike

Hello bonomike

If you have the prophecies of the bible memorized and implanted in your heart then you were expecting it and know what to do about it. There is no way to save any nation on earth. They are all condemned. The only nation that will survive will be made up of a remnant of people out of every nation tribe and tongue.
