Israel carries out large-scale rehearsal over Greece of possible air strike against Iran
June 20, 2008, 8:15 AM (GMT+02:00)

US Pentagon sources report that more than 100 Air Force F-16 and F-15 fighters participated in the maneuver over the eastern Mediterranean and Greece in the first week of June. The maneuver included helicopters used for rescuing downed pilots and refueling tankers. They flew 1,440 km, roughly the distance between Israel and the Iranian uranium enrichment plant at Natanz.

Israel officials declined to comment on the exercise, the IDF saying only that the air force trains regularly for various missions in order to meet the challenges posed by the threats facing Israel. But the US sources said the scope of the Israeli exercise guaranteed it would be noticed by American and other foreign intelligence agencies, primarily to send a signal to the US, Europe and Iran that Israel was prepared and able to act militarily if diplomatic efforts failed to stop Iran’s nuclear weapons advances.

One Pentagon official said: “They rehearse it, rehearse it and rehearse it, so that if they actually have to do it, they’re ready. They’re not taking any options off the table.”

DEBKAfile’s military sources add that only on Tuesday, June 17, the chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazy commented to the Knesset foreign affairs and security committee: "Beside the actions and sanctions against Iran, it is important we remain ready for any options."

Those sources interpreted the Ashkenazy’s typically understated remark as a hint that Israel must be ready for a possible war with Iran in the near future. This conflict could erupt on three additional fronts, Syria, Hizballah and Hamas. Those sources suggest that the scenario he hinted at would silence the many domestic critics of the ceasefire with Hamas and the Israeli military’s passivity in the face of Hizballah’s massive rocket buildup and Hamas’ escalating aggression.

Of interest too is the probable motive behind the US defense department’s leak to the world media of the Israel Air Force maneuver and its presentation as an exercise to simulate an attack on Iran. According to DEBKAfile’s informants, US defense secretary Robert Gates is adamantly opposed to American military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities and even more so to Israel going it alone, which this publicity was intended to pre-empt.

Why Greece??

Because that is roughly the same distance to Iran's nuclear facilities.

Didn't Iran flex its muscles here just recently as well flying there jets around the oil tankers? Sounds like a lot of see we have bigger sticks than you kind of thing.

Good for Israel....they are preparing to take the fight to survive to their enemies door...I would suggest that makes Greece an acomplice to the fact....

Oh MY, I saw the topic from the main page and it read:

"Israel Carries Out Large-scale..." and I thought immediately, this is it, thinking when I would open the thread, I would read:

Israel Carries Out Large-scale OPS over GAZA and returned with 15,000 fried chicken, wrapped and stamped with "Made In China".
But when they thawed them they appeared to be infected with bird flu H5N1, traceable back to China.

But no... it was just the rehearsal. Rooting for Isreal!

Amen, Justice. The sooner this is over with, the better! Stupid Iranians and Russians. They should shut their mouths and stop bluffing and playing games. I say if Israel has the bomb, why use planes, just BOMB the crap out of them.

Sure Rose! Amen to your stamina!
They (Hamas) are lucky I am not Israels military planner, for it would already be over, in a blink! No remorse.

I bet that David, Joshua and all the other ancients are shaking their heads over such woosiness.

Where are the days of Moshe Dayan and Golda Meir? Stand up, rise and slay them utterly to their wicked demise.

These hateful positions are not backed up by the Bible, by Christ or the Holy Spirit. God does not hate Russians or Iranians. Hatred and racism, while tolerated here on sufferance, are NOT Christian attributes. They are shameful to us. Please do not take offense at the spiritual poverty of a few. Many Christians love all people, and do not wish death on them, but rather an abundant life. We wish men to be saved and not obliterated. We seek a true peace through the Messiah of God. A massive dust cloud hovers over the Middle East, stretching from Iraq to India, and spreading south past the Arabian Peninsula. Some of the thickest dust is concentrated over the Arabian Sea. Besides the heavy band of dust south of Oman, the storm creates a faint dusty haze covering almost the entire region. The shamal — a northwesterly wind blowing over the floodplain of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in Iraq — had been active several days before a massive storm on June 18. The shamal caused a mild dust storm on June 16, but by June 18, the persistent wind had spread dust over southern Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and eastern Saudi Arabia. A June 18 report predicted that dust would linger over the Arabian Peninsula for another 48 hours, thanks to low wind speeds over the area. Winds were expected to pick up in a day or two, bringing warmer temperatures with them. (satellite photo)

Arabs, time to brace yourselves.

I see what you are saying John, but our Faith does not justify to let Ah-Mad-In-Jihad conquer the world.

If we would not have fought Hitler, we now would all speak german.
When God sends angels to help us, do we then pray to God, Oh No God, please let us be opressed? I don't think so.
I will not take one word back, and when God asks me why I said those things, I will stand by them.

Amen.

hi~

the return of the LORD is something to be excited about, the deaths of many to come - be they of God or not - will be filled with great sorrows unlike anything we as a social order have ever faced before. in prayer should we be, not filled with wrath one against another, for we are tied by blood to Noah & from there, tied to Adam & from there, tied to the LORD.

thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
be it friend or foe.

the arabian peoples may be hated by many, but note that -by blood- are they tied to Esau.

Levite, I said the same on the forum, but when I did, I got almost stoned for it.
Yet when I say what I said today, I have to duck once more.

Jer.49
[8] Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
[10] But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

Obad.1
[6] How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!
[8] Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
[9] And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
[18] And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
[19] And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
[21] And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.

Mal.1
[2] I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
[3] And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Rom.9
[13] As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Heb.12
[16] Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Say what you want, but the day that the Isaeli planes fly, I pray to God that He places angels on every of their wingtips. just like I did in the First Gulf War for the allied planes that defended Israel, and gave it the grace to not have to stick out ONE finger to their enemies!

And obviously God did, for the victory was incredible decisive.

These modern day pharesee's make me want to puke!Again there is not one righteous! no not one!But the Lord!

hi~

it is true that we all have sinned & come short of the glory of God, however the commandment of the LORD clearly speaks that we are to take up our cross & follow Him, to do as He would do. more-so, the Gospel of Matthew 6:22-23 (akjv) speaks thus, The light of the body is the eye. If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness?

do you think thoughts of anger against thy neighbor will be acceptable before the LORD in heaven? the LORD has every right to be angered, for sin has replaced grace which i assure you is not part of His design. who are we to be angered at anything except ourselves for our own iniquities?

& besides, the prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes - they that accept death shall be dealt with, & they that accept life shall be given them, but it is the LORD -not us- that shall give righteous judgement. from our perspective, we are children of the LORD & are as dust & ashes compared to His Word; though these events signal the signs of His return, the days ahead will be filled with sorrows - mourn for they that shall never know the LORD, & weep for them that keep not the commandments of the LORD. sad.gif

for what is their fate? yea, we all know too well. mellow.gif

Brothers, you are mistaken about the anger part. The deep yearning that GOD will bring Righteousness upon this wicked earth, has nothing to do with human feelings of anger.

Two days ago God led me to this (so now I am waiting for it):

Psalm 118

[10] All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
[11] They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
[12] They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
[13] Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
[14] The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
[15] The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
[16] The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
[17] I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
[18] The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
[19] Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
[20] This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
[21] I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
[22] The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
[23] This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

That's correct!..None are righteous anyway. Walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. but if you do mess up, we have an advocate

You apparently have not listened to Jessie Duplantas....He is not a hypocrite.
He always says what goes through his human mind as such as Rose did.but maybe you think that you are holier than thou.Just now, as I am typing this.I started to type something, but the Lord did not Like what I was thinking..and so I did not type it. I do try to walk in the spirit, but sometimes I mess up.And sometime we say things that is not understood by others, but the Lord does know what is in our hearts.I do not drink beer, just never had a knack for it....But maybe one day someone would ask me if I would like a swig of gold slauger.I might say yes and I might say no.but if I should say yes....I am still a child of God and I have not sinned at all......Now if I were to get drunk then that is a different story and that would be a sin.....same thing if you become a glutton at mealtime....it's a sin.....another thing, what may be a sin for you may not be a sin for me.I think that we should pray for Israel, and for thier enemies. But we know that there are some that will try to harm Israel, and I think that we should help Israel and kick Iran's but if they ever attack Israel. There are christians in our armed forces, and some of them love Israel, and would want to protect Israel if given the opportunity.....and if necessary, kill those who would harm them.King David tried to get the Lord to kill his enemies. If you should try to threaten my friend in front of me, I will warn you verbally what I will do to you should you try.I will preach to you also and pray for you, but if you step over the line...I don't play around. Not everyone is a limp wrist christian. Some of us will not play around if you step over the line.

Reminder of the Six Day War 1967

In May 1967, Egypt expelled the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) from the Sinai Peninsula, which had been stationed there since 1957 (following the 1956 Sinai invasion to allow for a free Suez Canal) to provide a peace-keeping buffer zone. In reaction to Israeli-Syrian tensions, Egypt amassed 1000 tanks and 100,000 soldiers on the border, closed the Straits of Tiran to all ships flying Israeli flags or carrying strategic materials, and called for unified Arab action against Israel.[5] In response, on June 5, 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive attack[6] against Egypt's airforce. Jordan, which had signed a mutual defence treaty with Egypt on May 30, then attacked western Jerusalem and Netanya.[7][8][9] At the war's end, Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, eastern Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. The results of the war affect the geopolitics of the region to this day.

Thank you. I hate no one. I just don't care for the big mouths that talk a lot but do nothing, then are cowards in the night doing a sneak attack. Why not be ready and when you are ready, stop the talking and just get with the program. I mean, you don't sit around watching your kid eat candy before dinner every day and tell him to stop while watching him dig his hand in for more... you STOP him before he eats the WHOLE BAG! I know, bad analogy, it's too early in the morning for me... but when you see the enemy spouting his mouth off over and over again (and hey, our country isn't exactly the SAINT in the big picture here, never said that!)... I say to just make it happen and shut them up. Then it's done. You know, with everything going on in the world today, what kind of a life do we have to leave to our generation, our children and grandchildren? The world is getting worse by the minute, the disasters, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, global warming (if it exists), the problem with oil, food prices, droughts, scarcity... our fat kids in the US sitting around playing video games all day, the dumbing down of many countries who just like to 'blow things up'... it just makes me ill and makes me want the Lord to come soon and get it over with. Basically HE is the one IN CONTROL and HE is the one who turns the HEART of the person like PHAROAH and then the war starts. I don't believe that this is being concocted by any ONE person, ONE country, ONE peoples... we are ALL the same inside, we have good and bad in us, and the enemy is SATAN, alive and well and walking up and down on this planet, seeking whom he desires to devour. He is inside the Iranian President, the Russian leaders, even the US. He is HERE! And the LORD already told us not to FEAR, that WE WIN. To say that we want them to shut up by just getting the job done is not a horrible thing. Read the Old Testament. We are Christians and we believe in love, but God also in Revelation (NT) comes with a SWORD! A Sword is not exactly a flower of peace. He will devour our enemies....

I love Israel with the same love that God does (if that's possible) and I do believe that there is a time when the Lord will wipe away every tear from every eye.. and there will be war no more. I hate war, my brother is in Iraq right now, missing his five children and his wife. He is 40 yrs old and has been in the US Navy for 20 years. His children are age 14 and younger. I feel for them and I feel for EVERY man and woman who has to put their lives on the line every day. But because of military big mouths like Ahmadinejad and others, we have to deal with this and pray constantly for our loved ones. There is no peace, there NEVER WILL be any peace, until the Lord returns. Remember this: We are SPIRITUAL people living in a MORTAL body. They can kill the body, but not the SPIRIT. To me it doesn't matter if it's today or tomorrow. The spirit of EVERY HUMAN BEING lives on. Bodies are just instruments (hopefully) to spread the GOOD NEWS. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much of that these days.

I am in no way trying to offend anyone. I just want this to be done with, it's just a bunch of tangled red tape that never ends.

Love you, Miki. Thank you.. and Justice and Benny too! smile.gif

Let the Lord speak on this:

Jeremiah
30:5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

30:6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

30:10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

30:12 For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

30:13 There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

30:14 All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

30:15 Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

30:16 Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

30:18 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

30:20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

30:21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

30:22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

30:23 Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

30:24 The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it

Let the Lord speak:

Psalms
83:1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

83:7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

83:8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

83:9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

83:10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

83:11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

83:12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

83:13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

83:14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

83:16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

83:17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
