Biblical Message to now be criminalized

Penalties created for those who criticize homosexuality outside church walls
Posted: June 12, 2008

A new Colorado law is helping homosexual activists achieve their goal of
forcing Christians to teach biblical condemnation of homosexuality only
behind the closed doors of their sanctuaries.

The as-yet untested state law promotes sexual identity "perception" to
the level of skin color under state discrimination laws.

Some opponents are calling it a "bona fide censorship law," and top
analysts for Focus on the Family, the Christian publishing and broadcast
powerhouse, are expressing concern over the "mischief" they expect to
follow the signing by Gov. Bill Ritter.

As was reported, Ritter, a Democrat, struck gender-specific restrooms
and locker rooms statewide when he signed the plan into law in May.
The law makes it illegal to deny a person access to public
accommodations, including restrooms and locker rooms, based on gender
identity or the "perception" of gender identity.

"Who would have believed that the Colorado state legislature and its
governor would have made it fully legal for men to enter and use women's
restrooms and locker-room facilities without notice or explanation?"
said James Dobson, founder of Focus.

"Henceforth, every woman and little girl will have to fear that a
predator, bisexual, cross-dresser or even a homosexual or heterosexual
male might walk in and relieve himself in their presence," Dobson said.
But now an analyst for Focus, Bruce Hausknecht, has told us that there
are other, significant, potential ramifications hidden in the fine print
of the new law.

The law provides an exemption allowing religious groups to continue
teaching, inside their doors, the Bible's condemnation of homosexuality.
But the exemption itself is ultimately harmful to the church, Hausknecht
contends.

"It tends to marginalize the church," he said. "They'll say, 'It's just
a church.' It will allow gay activists to continue to marginalize
Christians. They'll say, 'Keep it within your four walls. That's all.'"
But there's further possible mischief that can result from a ban on
discrimination based on sexual orientation or "perception" when deciding
"full and equal enjoyment of facilities, accommodations" and other
factors, he said.

Religious publishers, he acknowledged, could be accused under the law
for publishing biblical condemnation of homosexuality. Colorado Springs,
where Focus in located, also is home to the huge Christian publishing
operations of NavPress and the International Bible Society.

"There are those who simply by publishing Christian materials could find
themselves charged with a violation of this statute," he said.

A spokesman for Ritter did not respond to a request for comment.
The actual impact of the new ban on people responsible for "public
accommodations" expressing beliefs that do not support homosexuality are
unclear at this point, largely because charges haven't been brought and
challenges weighed regarding the law and its potential impact on First
Amendment guarantees of freedom exercise of religion.

However, Hausknecht warned there is "danger" in those waters for any
church that provides any service to its community.

It is possible the law's anti-"discrimination" demands could be
triggered when outside groups come in to use a church meeting room,
auditorium or recreation facility. For the safety of the churches,
perhaps outsiders will have to sign a document stating agreement with
the church's religious beliefs before being allowed in, he said.

The targets of complaints likely won't be churches themselves, but more
likely church schools, programs that offer services to communities and
the like, critics of the law said.

"The intent of the homosexual activists who put this law in [was to]
marginalize the church, keep it inside the sanctuary," Hausknecht said.
Worse yet is that many small or medium size churches will have to go out
of their way, including halting programs, to avoid a potential conflict,
because they don't have the resources to wage a war over their beliefs,
he added.

"It's a lot easier to avoid the conflict than incur the costs of
fighting," he said.

Dobson earlier had nothing but criticism for Colorado's elected officials.
"This is your government in action. It represents a payback to Tim Gill
and two other billionaires who have essentially 'bought' state
legislators with enormous campaign contributions. Coloradans deserve
better!" Dobson said.

"And by the way, because of the way this bill is written, it is not
subject to the initiative process. There is no recourse," Dobson said.
Pastor Bob Enyart, a Denver-area activist on Christian issues, agreed
with Focus' concerns over what appears to be a newly minted state
discrimination against Christian beliefs. But he went further.
We reported on Canada banning opposition to homosexuality; likewise,
Colorado's SB200 has 'forbidden' much publishing of Christian teaching
on homosexuality, cohabitation, etc.," he said.

"This censorship aspect of the law has been utterly ignored," he said.
"The law exempts churches, but that's not good, that's an insult. I.E.,
bigotry is allowed only in churches. Whereas every other place of public
accommodation including bookstores, retail & wholesale businesses, etc.
cannot sell or even 'give away' anything that would advocate
discrimination [against] gay adoption, homosexual marriage, etc.,"
Enyart said.

He cited one part of the new law:

Section 8. 24-34-701. Publishing of discriminative matter forbidden.
No person, being the owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent,
agent, or employee of any place of public accommodation... shall
publish, issue, circulate, send, distribute, give away, or display in
any way, manner, or shape or by any means or method, except as provided
in this section, any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript,
book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or advertisement of any
kind, nature, or description THAT is intended or calculated to
discriminate or actually discriminates against... SEXUAL ORIENTATION,
marital status... in the matter of furnishing or neglecting or refusing
to furnish to them or any one of them any lodging, housing, schooling,
or tuition or any accommodation, right [marriage], privilege [adoption],
advantage, or convenience... on account of... SEXUAL ORIENTATION,
marital status... [which] is unwelcome or objectionable or not
acceptable, desired, or solicited."

The Old Testament condemns homosexuality as an "abomination," Enyart
told us. The New Testament includes a reference in 1st Timothy calling
for the use of laws against crimes such as murder and homosexuality.
"There are free speech rights to condemn cohabitation, homosexuality,
state that homosexuals should not marry, should not adopt children,"
Enyart said. "It's now illegal in Colorado for anyone involved in a
facility or business of public accommodation to give any communication
that would advocate discrimination based on marital status or sexual
orientation."

He said many people simply choose not to believe what's happening.
"I have a hard time believing [it myself]," said Enyart.
He said he expects the law to be only "lightly" enforced until "it just
becomes an entrenched part of our legal framework. They're not going to
go out and arrest somebody for selling a Bible at Barnes and Noble."
But then in a few years, watch out, he said.

Enyart has printed a document he hands out that says, "This
Anti-homosexual Flyer is Illegal in Colorado." It condemns the promotion
of homosexuality in no uncertain terms.
"Homosexuality should be re-criminalized in Colorado," it states.

Republican hearts are all aflutter over one quarter of strong GDP numbers.

But the 8.2% third quarter growth was purchased on credit--the $374 billion budget deficit that was the largest in the country's history. All indications are that next year's deficit will be even larger, exceeding half a trillion dollars.

There is simply no magic to "growth" under these conditions. Any idiot with a hand full of credit cards charged to the next generation's children can gin up the short term illusion of prosperity. Until, that is, the bills come due.

George W. Bush inherited a $127 billion fiscal surplus but ran through all of that and more in his first year. He has turned a $5.6 trillion 10 year forecast surplus into a $3+ trillion forecast loss--an almost unimaginable reversal of $9 trillion in only three years. And this in an economy that has grown for 10 of the last 12 quarters.

The result of this almost psychotic profligacy, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will be a national debt of $14 trillion in 10 years. Interest payments alone will approach a trillion dollars a year and will exceed spending for all discretionary federal programs combined. Even more surreal, a study commissioned by former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil indicated that the 50-year forecast US deficit would reach $44 trillion.

The study was suppressed. O'Neil was fired.

How does a nation deal with debts that so greatly outrun its ability to pay? There are basically only five strategies. All are unappealing. Most are calamitous.

The most difficult strategy is, not surprisingly, the honest one: raise taxes and pay your bills. This is what King George III did following the Seven Years War with France in 1763. England had quadrupled its national debt in fighting the war and needed money to pay it off. It turned to the richest people in the realm, the colonists, and began taxing paper, glass, paint, lead, and, of course, tea. The result, as we know, was the American Revolution.

It was the same strategy--raising taxes on the rich--that Louis XVI attempted in 1789. The French national debt had grown 10 fold under the pharaonic opulence of Louis's grandfather, Louis XIV. Louis called the nobility and the clergy together and told them they would...

Here Am I
This new law is against the Word of God; it is classic example of perverting the truth of God to accommodate the ideas of men.

"the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." -Romans 8:7
"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..." -Isaiah 5:20

The Word of God says we are to::

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." -2Timothy 4:2
"Ye that love the Lord hate evil." -Psalm 97:10

Following and obeying of leaders is conditional on the leaders being faithful to God. The Biblical command to submit is never absolute, but always conditioned by the greater responsibility to submit to God (Acts 5:29).

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD" -Amos 8:11

Eventually, proselytizing or preaching the truth of God's Word will be considered a criminal action.

copied from my above post:
Even more surreal, a study commissioned by former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil indicated that the 50-year forecast US deficit would reach $44 trillion

my thoughts:
the USA has about 9 trillion dollars of outstanding bonds and notes

so, the total national debt is 44 plus 9 trillion = 53 trillion dollars

53 trillion divided by 300 million americans = $176666.67 per person ..........which is = $706,666.67 per family of four

the national debt is sin............the debt is huge, so the sin is huge

this huge sin is why God will put the GREAT TRIB upon the world............there is HUGE SIN in the world

That would be an alteration of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. Just because Gov. Ritter signed that legislation does not mean that would be the law of the land. It is the Congress of the United States that has the power to make the laws necessary and proper 'for carrying into execution' the levels of Government described in the law of the land.

I believe Governors Swartzenager and Ritter are relying on 'states' rights' issues to cover their buttockses. But, it will be up to the Senators and Representatives of the several states that will decide whether the legislation will be accepted in other states.

Like, in New York there was something in the Legislature about having to abide by the laws agreed to in other states and I think they rejected it. So, we have cancelling 'stare decisis.'

If we did not have that, medical marijuana use would be in every state because it is another Amsterdam in California; the doctors are prescribing marijuana for any condition. There are several more states with probably stiffer laws for prescriptions, but they have it.

A person who lives in Alabama cannot grow and use pot for medical uses and get away with it because you can in California because you cannot in Alabama.

Levite said it correctly when it was said that 'men can write laws until they're puffed up in the mind,' and God said the same thing. Jesus Christ said not to make so many laws so that you become ensnared by them.

But God Almighty has a way to deal with weeds in the government of man and it is not legislation, it is called 'cause and effect.'

The effect of signing the legislation dealing with this non-issue is that Colorado may get some more Columbines.

That could cause another incident where the whole country could be put under martial law because of 'hate.'

And things will only get worse. We, as the Church, are meant to occupy a spiritual place in the world. If we neglect to be what God has ordained us to be, then we leave a spiritual vacuum that is then filled with an undesirable spirit. There is a trickle down effect of this into the natural world. If we as Christians react to the lawlessness by direct tactics...ie..fighting fire with fire...then we will have been tricked into relying on a temporal means to fix what is truly a spiritual problem.

What is the answer? Well, we could stop playing church with our 1 to 2 hour services, and start being the church. Walking according to the flesh does not accomplish the will of God. While we go about in ignorance of our calling, the world is waxing worse by the day. God has provided us with the necessary tools to fight this, but we are too pre-occupied with temporal things, not to mention being brain-washed into inactivity and subservience to a religious system. We are to be the salt and light of the world, but we have become bland and dim.

Yet God is waiting for us. He will let the world deteriorate because of our unbelief. I do believe that a few more will wake up and begin the fight of faith. Some are already engaged in this fight. But they are few in number. Most believers are actually, unwittingly, fighting against them. I encourage all who call on the Lord to seek Him and learn to be spiritual in Christ. Learn of Him. Learn from the spiritual brethren. Learn to walk in His power, and see with His eyes; to do the works prepared in advance before the foundation of the world; to walk in resurrection life...here and now; to be a living sacrifice. When the saints rise up and take the place that has been prepared for them, then, and only then, will we see change.

Things will change when we are pleasing to God. If we look to temporal means..then God will resist us and we will slide ever deeper into a pit of our own making. We will have also missed the point of our training. We, who have received of the divine nature must look far beyond the votes of men that seem to offer a solution. Rather one can put to flight 1,000 and two, 10,000, in the Spirit. Don't vote in the temporal way but please the Lord by faith in Him alone. You can't serve 2 masters...you can't please 2 opposing ways. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. The majority don't understand this. We are to be holy as He is holy.

I am no fan of Dobson either, because of his mix with psychology, but to be fair, just because he does not speak out against every sin of the nation hardly makes him false. His stated mission in life pertains to those things to do with the family. Not everyone is called to speak against the national debt, especially when that usually implies some political stance.

And the bible is full of examples of prophets speaking out against the sins of their nation even though the people new different in their hearts.

God showed me the Mene Tekel Peres Bible Code which in part concerns the coming judgement against the almighty dollar, and those that worship it. But he also gave me a word about the sin of sodomy.
