6.1-magnitude earthquake hits Iceland

REYKJAVIK, Iceland
A strong earthquake has shaken southern Iceland.
The US Geological Survey says the 6.1-magnitude quake hit at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, with an epicenter 50 kilometers east, south-east of the capital, Reykjavik.
Residents in the city felt buildings shake, but it was not immediately clear if there were any injuries or damage.
