Strong China quake rattles east Asia

BEIJING, China (CNN) -- An earthquake capable of causing major damage shook central China on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It registered a magnitude of 7.5, the survey said.

Two more earthquakes -- measuring 6.0 and 5.4 magnitudes -- happened nearby over the next hour, the USGS reported.

China's state-run CCTV reported no serious damage in Chengdu, a city of more than 10 million that is about 60 miles from the epicenter, in the eastern part of China's Sichuan province.

"This is a very dangerous earthquake," said Bruce Presgrave, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake has the potential to cause major damage because of its strength and proximity to major population centers, he said. In addition, the earthquake was relatively shallow, Presgrave said, and those kinds of quakes tend to do more damage near the epicenter than deeper ones.

The ground shook as far away as Beijing, which is 950 miles (1,528km) from the epicenter. They felt "a very quiet rolling sensation" that lasted for about a minute, according to CNN correspondent John Vause.

"Our building began to sway," he said.

Thousands of people were evacuated from Beijing high rises immediately after the earthquake.

The first earthquake happened at 2:28 p.m. local time (2:28 a.m. ET), the USGS said.

The earthquake was also felt in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, and as far away as Hanoi, Vietnam, and Bangkok, Thailand, according to the Hong Kong-based Mandarin-language channel Phoenix TV.

Nearly 900 students have been buried in a massive earthquake in southwest China, state media reported today.

Details of their plight were still coming through but reports said that the students were buried when their school building collapsed in Dujiangyan, near the epicentre of the quake in Sichuan province.

The confirmed death toll from the 7.8 magnitude quake - which rattled tower blocks from Beijing to Bangkok - was at least 107, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

Buildings also collapsed in the town of Wenchuan. Communications to the town appeared to have been severed, with calls failing to connect to both fixed line and mobile telephones.

Premier Wen Jiabao left Beijing and tried to reach the epicentre after the tremor rocked the region at 0628 GMT at a depth of 18 miles. The decision to send such a senior leader was the first hint that officials feared a high casualty toll in a region with a large Tibetan population that has seen anti-Chinese unrest in recent weeks.

I predict this is just the beginning of Lord wrath. China has been killing lot of unborn babies recently and plus destroying natural oh and how they treated Tibet badly.

Hey all,

I'm an English teacher working in Shaanxi Province, just above Sichuan in a city called Baoji. Yes, at 2.29 this afternoon sitting at my computer in my 1st floor apartment I felt the earth move! It was very scary- being an earthquake virgin! I dived under my desk and prayed and prayed until it was over. Felt like forever,but maybe a minute or two. When it was over I went outside to join all the others, they too were pretty shook up.

I work on an old campus but teach in a new (college)- my students over at the new report that it's panic and chaos over there tonight. No one is allowed in their dorms and electricty shut off. Not so over here! I don't know if my classes will be cancelled tomorrow. There's been (false?) reports of another major aftershock, I've been waiting and hour and a half now but nothing, thankfully. Students coming from southern Shaanxi in a town called Ankang have reported their parents' homes have widespread damage, rooves destroyed etc. Haven't seen any damage here in Baoji yet, maybe tomorrow if I'm brave enough to walk out!

I guess for the Americans here this is pretty old hat, but for an Aussie like me this was pretty darnned scary! One of the other foreigners here with more experience in earth-shaking events (!) said today's here felt like a 6er- reminding you that I am NOWHERE near the epicentre! I am about 2/3s of the way between Chengdu and Beijing.

China quake kills nearly 9,000

CHONGQING, China (Reuters) - China's most devastating earthquake in three decades killed nearly 9,000 people in western Sichuan province on Monday and razed 80 percent of the buildings in one county, initial estimates said.

The 7.8 magnitude quake struck in the middle of the school day, toppling eight schools in the region. Chemical plants and at least one hospital were flattened, trapping many hundreds, state media said.

On the Government Earthquake website it now sets the quake at 7.9 magnitude. I am definitely praying for all that are having to go through this, whether God is a myth to them or not, these are our brothers and sisters on Earth! I love every one of them, lost or found, doesn't matter. I pray there will be no horrible HUGE aftershock as SongBird mentioned. Stay firm in Faith and believe the Lord will have MERCY.

My dad is over in Thailand. He got to see the cyclone that hit Burma, and apparently feel this earthquake. They say it was felt as far away as Vietnam and Bangkok. All of this is happening right after Israel's 60th BD, and the world population passing 6,666,666,666 . Hope someone has some pictures. 0_0

Well, I got 1-2 hours sleep last night, kept waking up thinking I was feeling aftershocks about every hour. It was not nice. My students were locked out of their dormitory and electricity cut off last night, I went past the sports field this morning and a sea of students with blankets....my classes were cancelled this morning so I just got back.

I was told on the way to work that 20 people died in my town here, and a large wall collapsed.

I'm so sorry Songbird... I'm so thankful that you made it through. I will be praying for all... Your students are going to need you for support...May the Lord shine through your every word.

Even if the majority of China is atheist, and killing unborn babies, that's still no reason to assume that this is (or the beginning) is of the Lord's wrath.


Um, so would you say this is the case everytime there is a natural disaster like that? What about the planet's greatest earthquake, striking China in 1553?

Or did tsunami of December 2004.

Now as for your prediction that more is on the way, well gee, we know from science and history that earthquakes have been known to exist, so it's certainly safe to assume that we haven't seen the last of earthquake and/or natural disasters..

The authorities said that more than 10,000 people were still unaccounted for in the city of Minzhu and another 2,300 were missing in the collapse of a school and two factories in the town of Shifang.

There is a group of four clusters of earthquakes in a line west-east from the earthquakes in China to the earthquakes in Japan on over to the earthquakes in Hawaii and then on over to the Dominican Republic below Florida.

There has been 36 earthquakes in a straight line running northeast starting with the 7.9 mag. for 191 miles in China.

In June, they are going to fire up that LHC in Geneva, Switzerland to re-create the big bang.

That may blow the earth apart, like the bible says in Rev. 16:19 about the great city being generated in three parts.

I still think that these things are just part of earth's ongoing birth pangs, "but the end is not yet come".

I'm thinking several things right now. One is the book "China Cries". I want the book so bad since I have watch the movie. God is speaking and it is clear from this. The other thing is I heard on tv last night we have had more tornados this year than we have had in more than ten years put together.

Death toll is rising.

Attempts to find survivors have become a race against time and bad weather. Premier Wen Jiabao, who has thrown himself into the task of coordinating these efforts, sounded a grim note.
"The disaster situation is worse than expected, and the rescue sites are quite complex," Wen said, according to Xinhua."

I saw a cloud like that a week or so ago. Blue sky, mid-day and a small cloud that had rainbow colors on it. Here Am I said that chemtrails can cause that....not sure about the one on this video though.

From what I have read, China is the only country which refuses to participate in the chemtrails agenda (they're not global players). Yet, I have seen the same rainbow-like cloud which is shown in the video, in many other chemtrails pics taken in other parts of the world. In another thread, it was discussed that the Chinese have their own secret societies which refuse to participate with Jesuit Illuminati. The rainbow cloud may suggest artificial manipulation to some degree, even an outside attack of aggression on the country; Burma (cyclone) and China (earthquake) via HAARP. More news to come, I'm sure.

'Severe' damage near China quake epicentre: military official

A town at the epicentre of China's deadly earthquake has suffered "unusually severe" damage, with more than 70 percent of roads damaged and all bridges destroyed, a top military commander said Tuesday.

Lieutenant General Li Shiming told state television that the town of Yingxiu was also suffering from perilously low supplies of food, water and medicine after the quake cut it off from the outside world.

"The situation in Yingxiu is unusually severe," Li said in an on-air interview.

It was believed to be the first on-the-ground information from the epicentre area.

Li spoke after a team of 1,300 army medics and troops had reached the area, located in quake-devastated Wenchuan county, in southeastern Sichuan province, earlier in the day by foot.

It was the first sizeable relief force known to have reached the area.

"Helicopters are prepared to airlift food, medicine, and water to the area once weather conditions allow," said Li, who gave no information on casualties or damage to buildings. It was not immediately clear whether Li was in Yingxiu.

The team had to hike in overland due to massive damage to roads in the region, Xinhua news agency reported.

Yingxiu has a population of 6,641, it said.

The one on that white horse is Satan and the "bow" is (#5115 toxon - a simple fabric bow) an imitation of a rainbow.....which sounds exactly like what we are talking about in this thread! The bow in that scripture is often thought of as in a "bow and arrow" but it just refers to the arched shape....as a rainbow.
