Everything is fine here............just kinda shook me up (as in startled me). I just reported it for our county and checked out the statistics. We are 141 miles away from the epicenter. Wondering what it was like where it was centered. Evidently it was recorded as being centered in West Salem, Illinois.

Here in St. Louis, it woke me right out of bed. The windows rattled real bad and the beds shook. I looked outside thinking it was strong winds but the trees were relatively motionless. Some of my other family, who get up for work earlier than me, said that our bird was acting weird -- flapping anxiously -- before it started. It's still too dark to see if there's been any exterior damage to the house/sidewalks but everyone is "okay". There's some local reports of broken windows, etc.
WEST SALEM, Ill.) — A 5.4 earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people awake as far away as Milwaukee early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.
The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered 6 miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It awakened people in neighboring Indiana and even Milwaukee, Wis., 350 miles north of the epicenter.
"It shook our house where it woke me up," said David Behm of Philo, 10 miles south of Champaign. "Windows were rattling, and you could hear it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It's not like California."
The quake shook skyscrapers in Chicago's Loop, 240 miles north of the epicenter, and in downtown Indianapolis, about 160 miles northeast of the epicenter. Residents of Cincinnati and St. Louis also reported feeling the earth shake.
Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Todd Ringle in Evansville said there were no immediate reports of damage.
The quake occurred in the Illinois basin-Ozark dome region that covers parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas and stretches from Indianapolis and St. Louis to Memphis, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The organization's Web site said earthquakes occur irregularly in the area, and that the largest historical earthquake in the region — also a magnitude 5.4 — caused damage in southern Illinois in 1968.
Salem, means peace. Shaking of peace?

USGS just downgraded it from a 5.4 to a 5.2.
So now we have 3 "7"
5+2=7
4:37 a.m = 14=2x7
I am not disregarding the first 5.4, because God is sovereign and He is still speaking through that first "incorrect" reading as well. It did not come up for no reason.

Salem Illinois is the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln.
Here is a repost of something relevant.
--------------
My very own personal observance.
We must all seal this rift
ripped into the heart of America.
Mount Rushmore feels so safe
I walked through America with open mouth
and yes I realized I was walking in a money driven country
but then I ask: name me one country presently that does not.
In a country I visit
I look for remnants of Gods signature
the silent signs that say to me:
this is good! Lord I see You were at work.
Leaders sometimes are visionaries.
And I found quite a few in America.
I put my hand in the fire and vow
those were doing Gods bidding!
All my visits to America were gracious
full of respect that so many nations lack.
Therefore to me this is America as I see it:
America was once a country open to the meek
to the weak and the tired, a refuge from turmoil
open and kind, a gem on the earth.
Four faces in Rushmore forever:
The best leaders America produced!
A beacon of Hope and Light to all the earth.
My family showed me where Abraham Lincoln grew up,
Salem Illinois.
Between the pigs and the horses, the cows and the chickens
he studied Law in a wooden hut, at the light of a candle.
Poor as can be, with relentless determination,
he did set himself (or by God) free.
(I grew in another country, just like that
but I knew instantly: Abraham is my friend.)
My family showed me where Abraham Lincoln spoke his words,
Springfield Illinois.
I walked in the debating hall of the State Capitol,
I wish I could go back in time,
and see for myself how he shaped this land!
I inhaled the air in that room,
hoping I could catch a molecule that survived time.
As my feet touched the ground in deep respect,
I was happy for Abraham had walked there.
My family took me to his house.
A place where time stands still,
A place where one would halt and feel
The serenity of his ways an example unmatched.
I walked through his house timid,
humble myself, for privacy should be kept.
I know it was against the rules but...
a brief almost-touch of his high hat
and a deep thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My family took me to His tomb.
Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois.
Impressive are his own words carved in the wall.
I did read the Gettysburg Address over and over
wanted to memorize every word of it (see next post).
I rubbed his nose for good luck,
and I wept in silence as I stood at his tomb.
Abraham was assassinated by greedy hate
a stupid act but it shows how much strive in this power center.
Power corrupts, but the biggest defied corruption.
Scholars now rank Lincoln among the top three U.S. Presidents,
with the majority of those surveyed placing him first.
He is noted for his lasting influence on U.S. politics,
including a redefinition of republicanism.
Religion: he attended churches,
but never officially acquired membership in a church.
Abraham Lincoln's carefully crafted address,
secondary to other presentations that day,
came to be regarded as one of the greatest speeches in American history.
In just over two minutes, Lincoln invoked the principles of human equality
espoused by the Declaration of Independence
and redefined the Civil War as a struggle not merely for the Union,
but as "a new birth of freedom" that would bring true equality to all <=======!!!
of its citizens, and that would also create a unified nation
in which states' rights were no longer dominant.
Amen.
It wounds me deep when sincere criticism is replaced by
or taken over by hateful "America bashers".
A country that grew so fast, and basically still in birth pain,
with such a great record to the world community,
deserves far better than to be smudged by empty heads,
who have not even the faintest clue what they are talking about.
As much as I feel the pain of the weak also there,
and as much as I share the concern over current decisions,
the whole world does owe a lot to this brave nation still in birth pain.
I am not waving my critical eye away at all,
but I pray to God to save her under the Lords Mighty Wing.
To save her means: do not forsake your ancestors sacrifice <=========
and think what it means: In God We Trust?
I am not even an American, and I feel deep,
then how much more should you then feel,
my brother and sister in America?
I weep for thee, I pray for thee!
I miss that America very much.
I want it back. I want it governed by Our Father.
Amen.

But when you take it outside of that arena and start using it to fortunetell through numbers calculation you are headed to a deep pit. C is leading you in this. From Ishmael came 12 princes.
From Israel came 12 kings.
Melchizadek, the King of Salem, united the two when he was given a tenth of the spoils by Abraham who was the father of both.
North America, from pre-history to the year 1860, was a land inhabited by tribes of men, women, and children who took care of the land the way that was passed on through the generations. These tribes were suprised by the large ships that had come into their view. I'm positive that they knew what they were and they sent out their scouts to watch and try and communicate as is done by any civilized people.
The ships that landed had some very hungry and sick people. These people were suprised to find stores of food in places and they started eating and taking what they needed. The natives did not understand that move. So, the natives shot them and killed them and that started the whole thing from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War and to the final decision to forcefully remove the natives from their lands in the southern and eastern US to the middle.
I do not think that the earthquakes in Illinois has anything to do with the switching from princes to kings and one of those kings was Abraham Lincoln.
Ishmael was promised by Jehovah one nation and 12 princes are to come from that nation.
Israel was promised a nation and a company of nations and the 12 kings will come from those nations.
The covenant that was made with Ishmael was not an everlasting covenant, but the one with Israel was.

You have no case. Some will jump at anything to play around with soothsaying and extra-Biblical contrived methods. These are the things that become parlor games and lead the unlearned astray. The Lord is not in this business. His Word is complete, finished, and delivered. False prophecy, false teaching, and false doctrines are all products of this dabbling in the practice of piece meal utterings and the scriptures are set against it.

We have had two pretty strong quakes here in central Illinois today. The first woke me up at 4:38AM and lasted for about 30 or seconds. The second happened at 10:34AM and lasted for about 15 seconds. The second one seemed stronger to me than the first.
I stumbled upon an interesting article on Yahoo! this morning. It talks about the "hum of the earth". That reminded me of several bible passages that tells us of how creation itself proclaims the glory of GOD. I tend to think that the hum the scientists are hearing is that very voice of praise!
Here is the article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/200804...teriousthanever Earth's Hum Sounds More Mysterious Than Ever Earth gives off a relentless hum of countless notes completely imperceptible to the human ear, like a giant, exceptionally quiet symphony, but the origin of this sound remains a mystery.
Now unexpected powerful tunes have been discovered in this hum. These new findings could shed light on the source of this enigma.
The planet emanates a constant rumble far below the limits of human hearing, even when the ground isn't shaking from an earthquake. (It does not cause the ringing in the ear linked with tinnitus.) This sound, first discovered a decade ago, is one that only scientific instruments - seismometers - can detect. Researchers call it Earth's hum.
Investigators suspect this murmur could originate from the churning ocean, or perhaps the roiling atmosphere. To find out more, scientists analyzed readings from an exceptionally quiet Earth-listening research station at the Black Forest Observatory in Germany, with supporting data from Japan and China.
Different types
In the past, the oscillations that researchers found made up this hum were "spheroidal" - they basically involved patches of rock moving up and down, albeit near undetectably.
Now oscillations have been discovered making up the hum that, oddly, are shaped roughly like rings. Imagine, if you will, rumbles that twist in circles in rock across the upper echelons of the planet, almost like dozens of lazy hurricanes.
Scientists had actually expected to find these kinds of oscillations, but these new ring-like waves are surprisingly about as powerful as the spheroidal ones are. The expectation was they would be relatively insignificant.
New thinking
This discovery should force researchers to significantly rethink what causes Earth's hum. While the spheroidal oscillations might be caused by forces squeezing down on the planet - say, pressure from ocean or atmospheric waves - the twisting ring-like phenomena might be caused by forces shearing across the world's surface, from the oceans, atmosphere or possibly even the sun.
Future investigations of this part of the hum will prove challenging, as "this is a very small signal that is hard to measure, and the excitation is probably due to multiple interactions in a complex system," said researcher Rudolf Widmer-Schnidrig, a geoscientist at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
Still, a better understanding of this sound will shed light on how the land, sea and air all interact, he added.
Researcher Dieter Kurrle and Widmer-Schnidrig detailed their findings March 20 in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
Blessings of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control to you in the name of JESUS CHRIST, the CREATOR OF ALL THINGS

Apr 18 2008, 11:12 AM
The law is not silent about false prophets and how to deal with them. The law is not silent when a false prophet comes along. God's law says that he is to be put to death. We have here serious opposition! How could the law be opposed any stronger than that? In the law of God, exposure, opposition, and destruction are reserved for those who speak falsely in the name of God.
"But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die. And if you say in your heart, "How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?" - when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)
In other words, don't be afraid of him, kill him (Deuteronomy 18:20). The law commanded death to those who, on their own accord, presumed to speak in the Lord's name, and it commanded death to those who might speak in order to turn the people away from the Lord God. This is what false teachers do. They speak in the name of the Lord falsely, and they speak so as to turn people away from God (being deceived themselves, 2 Timothy 3:13). [By the way, we are not instructed today to kill anyone, Romans 10:4; 13:1-2; Galatians 5:18; unless you are a peace officer, or soldier ,doing so in the line of duty, Romans 13:4.]
