Israeli minister hurls unprecedented threat at Iran
April 7, 2008, 3:56 PM (GMT+02:00)

National Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said Monday, April 7: “An Iranian strike on Israel would result in an Israeli response that would devastate the Iranian nation.” On a visit to the national defense exercise’s situation room, Ben-Eliezer also warned: “An Initial strike on Israel would see hundreds of missiles hit us… all of Israel will be within range of Syrian and Hizballah missiles.”

DEBKAfile’s military sources note: In all of its 60 years, no Israeli leader has ever threatened to destroy another nation, however belligerent - even when Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Israel should be “wiped off the map.”

His words directly contradict the soothing statements made by prime minister Ehud Olmert and defense minister Ehud Barak that the defense exercise is in no way intended as a threat or an escalation of war tensions.

The minister’s wild rhetoric, apparently off the top of his head, could be interpreted as a threat of Israeli nuclear retaliation to a potential Iranian attack.

Ben Eliezer continued in slightly more measured tones when he said: The Iranians won’t be rushing to attack Israel because they are well aware of our strength, but they bait us by providing weapons to Syria and Hizballah, which we need to deal with.”

Our sources point out that thus far, Israel has never directly addressed any of the three perils.

In Tehran foreign ministry spokesman, Mohammad Ali Husseini advised the states in the region to closely watch the Israeli exercise, which he described as “provocative” and aimed at boosting the army’s morale.

What I see here is this: Iran will not nuke Israel and I don't believe that any WMDs will be used in the area because of the deterrent of mutual destruction. Neither will Iran [Persia] be destroyed by the same. This nation will participate in the invasion of Israel on the ground at midweek. The Islamics want to own the Middle East and the Bible gives many events that will take place there at the time of the end. This would not be possible if the geography is destroyed and contaminated by nuclear weapons. I do believe that there is a great danger of the weapons falling into the hands of Islamic terrorists and used against other parts of the planet. Israel will actually be overrun and occupied by the nation's enemies of the Middle East during the tribulation period.

If Iran was led by a reasonable man maybe, but Ah-Mad-In-Jihad?

Stephen my friend

When the fundamental Muslims had only stones and knifes they used it against as.
When they got guns they used it against as.
When they got explosives they used it against as.
When they got missiles they used it against as.

What make you think that it's going to be any difference when they got themselves nuclear bomb?

i agree jewman...these mad men will use whatever they get there hands on...if you read Isaiah 17, it sounds as if chemical weapons or maybe dirty bombs are used against Israel and in turn, Israel wipes out damascus, hizbullah, and hamas from gaza and the west bank....if war breaks out in the next few months, it looks like this is exactly what could happen....

i think this sets the stage for the magog invasion after this first war....

JM,

"What make you think that it's going to be any difference when they got themselves nuclear bomb?"

I tend to stick to the scriptures on events that will take place rather than what people think might happen based upon observations only. There are many events that will take place at the time of the end in the Middle East and Israel which indicate otherwise in regard to the use of WMD. In reality and conjunction with the Bible's picture, if Iran were to nuke Israel neither country would be standing. Both are seen in the visions of the Bible prophets during the tribulation period. In fact Israel will be overrun and occupied [Revelation 11:2] by satan's beast [little horn] and his confederacy [Psalms 83, Ezekiel 38], one of which will be Iran [Persia] [Ezekiel 38:5]. The beast and his kingdom of followers, who will most likely be the Islamisc of the Middle East, will exist until the Lord destroys them at Armageddon which will occur at the end of the tribulation period. I do see in the visions much destruction against other nations outside of the Middle East during the tribulation which may or may not involve the use of WMD. It may be that WMD produced in the Middle East and transfered to Islamic militants [terrorists] may be used.

They are just attempting to fulfill scripture, by the hand of man.

The illusion is that Israeli's are "Gods Chosen" and the twisting of scripture along with modern Christians not knowing the truth aids the antiChrists in their illusion.
Stephen
Who is attempting to fulfill scripture? Those in question don't even know what the scriptures say and do not believe the Bible anyway. They attempt to fulfill their own desires apart from the Lord. If you think that the Lord's purposes for national Israel [they are His by the way] are an illusion you had better gain a more accurate and complete understanding of the Bible than you currently have. Are you a modern Christian, an ancient Christian, or something else?

Old trick to reverse the cause-> result reaction.
It is not God who is created by history but God who CREATED history.

What you say is the denial of God being the Creator.

"….if Iran were to nuke Israel neither country would be standing."

It's a very common theory, but lets think about it for a sec.

Do not underestimate Ahmadinijad, he is an engineer and he calculates the risks.

It's very difficult to destroy all of Israel with one nuclear bomb, not only because it's such a small target wink.gif ,but because it's elongated shape.

The respond might be that Israel will nuke them back. How hard? Iran's population is more then 70,000,000 people spread over large area.
I'm not a nuke expert, but as much as I can guess, wipe Iran totally from the globe, using nukes, involves a huge amount of energy. So much more energy and pollution then our planet are able to deal with, ecologically (global warming, ozone, etc ……...)

Fore more info : Regional Nuclear War Could Create the Mother of all Ozone Holes

The Christians and the Jews sacred life, while the Muslims sacred death. There for, Iran will nuke Israel when they get atomic bomb, knowing that the Israeli response will be restricted.

The people that are in Israel that are descended from those named after Eber who is a descendant of Adam and Eve are God's Chosen people, period. They have survived many attempts by Satan and his minions to annihilate them. They survived in part because of their actions to be sure but they survive because God wants them to survive and survive they will. Anyone who touches them is facing the wrath of God and His immediate judgment. Hitler did not live to see the end of WWII. I am more worried about the USA sticking our noses into their business and suggesting deals as the Secretary of State is doing. Muslims are in part descended from Ishmael and Mohammed was a tool of anti-Christ. The Muslims live to see us gone, Jew and Christian. Would the descendants of Ishmael and followers of Mohammed do anything rash? Yes. Iran may hold its powder dry and not attack Israel at all. I do not expect nukes from Iran but I do expect some trouble. The invaders will be coming from the north, so go figure.
Stephen
The scriptures tell that Israel will be invaded and occupied by satan's beast and followers for 42 months .... but nothing about being nuked by Iran. Iran [Persia] will be part of the confederacy of satan's beast that will attack and conquer Israel by invasion and occupation. The Lord will come after and destroy the occupiers.

Exclusive: Amid new Iranian threat, Israel connects to America’s Ballistic Missile Early Warning System
April 15, 2008, 12:36 PM (GMT+02:00)

The 12th Space Warning Squadron, Greenland
Israel requested the hook-up to the BMEWS for early warning to defend itself against Iranian missile attack. Tuesday, April 15, Iran’s deputy C-in-C Mohammad Reza Ashtiani threatened to eliminate Israel from “the scene of the universe” if it launches a military attack on the Islamic state.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report the system operates from three global centers – the US Thule Air Base in Greenland, where the 12th Space Warning Squadron is located; the Clear Air Force Station in Alaska and the British RAF long-range radar station at Fylingdales, Yorkshire, in England.

This is the third time Israel has been connected to the BMEWS. The first was in 1991 before the first Gulf War and the second in 2003 before the US invasion of Iraq. Then, Israel feared Iraqi missile attack, which indeed materialized in 1991. Now, US military sources interpret the request as signifying Israel’s sense of the need to prepare for an Iranian missile attack in the not-too-distant future.

Such an attack could develop from a US or Israeli strike against Iran, or any war situation involving Israel, Syria or Hizballah. Tehran might also stage a pre-emptive strike if early intelligence was received of an impending US or Israeli attack on Iran, Syria or Hizballah.

These sources stressed that Iran could even decide to lash out against Israel after the event in reprisal for an American assault, not necessarily on its nuclear sites but on Revolutionary Guards bases involved in directing, arming and training militias for attacks on US troops in Iraq. In such a contingency, Tehran could decide to hit back at US bases and strategic sites in the Persian Gulf and Middle East at large, including Israel.

The hook-up to the US early warning system will give Israel a better chance to prepare its Arrow and Patriot missile defense systems – and the US to prepare its own Israel-based Patriot batteries - in good time to ward off an Iranian missile attack. The BMEWS would start beaming data on an incoming Iranian missile at the launching stage and before it is airborne.

American military sources have no doubt that if an Iranian missile barrage targets Tel Aviv, Israel will counter with a missile attack on Tehran or Damascus.
