Looks like the inevitable election fraud is going to be perpetrated,
leaving the desperate people of Zimbabwe with nothing but a false dawn
of hope.

Another Rwanda?
When will the UN, the African Congress, and the serious powers fulfil their responsibilities?

I suppose Mugabe could just step down, and usher in the new government.
I suppose I could start manufacturing clay pigs.
After several days of official silence, Morgan Tsvangiri has declared himself the winner.
Mugabe has declared this declaration the equivalent of a coup d'etat.
For anyone who doesn't know what Zimbabwe is,
here's a wikipedia link.
Failing that, just wait five years, when Will Smith and Oliver Stone will explain history to you.

hay brother
i was going to respond to this but had some things to do its very intresting to what is happening in the country with the election out the way mugabe is not going to give up or is he going to budge even though he has tried to control what the press can say things are going to happen with in the next few days sooner or later mugabe is going to have to handle this he has lost and this is what i am hearing simple
but i am also hearing that a second ellection could be held if mugabe asks for it if he feels that the balot papers have not been counted propley
this is what i am hearing know simple i have had my local christian station on and have been hearing the latest news comming out from zimbabwe
my country is willing to give aid but we will need to know that mugabe has stepped down and hear that a new president has been elected before australia gives out any aid to zimbabwe
as their is not much food in zimbabwe but our goverment is watching how this pans out simple
mugabe will not step down even though i am saying he should step down and face that he has lost and the people of zimbabwe do not want to stand behind him
the army and the police are though backing mugabe but i wish he wil just call it as it has been called and come out of hiding and say he has lost and were we see him shake hands with the new president of zimbabwe
my question is this with the way he has corrupted that country should not the new president have mugabe arrested as soon as he has taken his role as zimbabwes new president and should not all of mugabe wealth be taken of him and a full investigation be held ?
as mugabe is going to walk away a rich man from this while his people strugle i feel this is what should happen with a dictator like mugabe he should be bought before the huage and face charges just like with what happend to sadam husane i cant see how the people could just let mugabe get away with what he did while he was their president
i have had lots of dodgy emails sent to me from that country sayin mugabe killed my father who was a well respected dr but for me to touch what has been left by my father i need an out sider to help me a lot of letters like this have come into australia simple
i just deleeted what ever was sent to me from zimbabwe but if its true by what i have read can he be charged ?
so far nothing has been said but they are looking at know running a second ellection if mugabe says he wants to
thanks simple i am keeping an eye on this

ahhh, election fraud. you are right ... and we have and will experience it here
where ever that is for the reader...
remember the time is short...
bless God, bless your neighbor, and speak the word, then live it.
everyone wants to be a prophet, noone wants to be a disciple...
God will raise up those that have humbled themselves...actually,
God has given power for the humble...that breaks the yoke of bondage
even though it seems different...God oversees His word in our lives...
Father,
Please bless the children of Zimbabwe and all of Africa. Cause even
the youngest to have your fruit upon their lips and do mighty things
in your name. Let the prayers of the saints around the world
manifest the glory of God in far off places...and places close to home.
May your word come upon us and fill our mouths as we yield to you.
Amen.

Congo, Zaire, Zimbabwe, South-Africa, Kenya, Burundi, Ruanda, Somalia, Nigeria, Mauretania, Libya, Tchaad, Ethopia, Darfur, Egypt, Eritrea, Namibia, and I probably forgot some.
Each country has a story of ethnic or religious violence, and often are Arab militia involved in the cruelty.
May God level the Arab world till none is found anymore. (Does that feel better than forgiveness? no, same bitter tears).
Yes, the children must be saved, may God hear them all at once.

sounds like Mugabe is actually far from giving up the ghost, and has already
started a crackdown by deporting foreign journalists - Usually a
precursor to some horrendous suppression.
I'm afraid, and I hope I'm wrong, it looks like for all the world he is behaving to type,

It was predictable, as Mugabe has done this in the past.
The first time he mass-hypnotised his "own" people, was when he disowned the lands from whites, after rising to power.
He will not give up, unless he is stopped. The international community has observers there, what do they say?

from what i am hearing mugabe has arrested two foreign journolists and raided the offices of the opposition
so i feel you might be spot on simple mugabe is 86 and he wants control it has gotten to him and he cant handle loosing he is going to stay put and i feel it is going to a three month weight before we even hear if he has decided to step down and shake the new presidents hands
so much for this freedom fighter who set his people free to were he even ran the white farmers of their farms greed has gotten to mugabe and what i said in my early post is what should happen
he should be arrested and brought before the huage just like what happend with sadam husane sadam husane was a baby compared to mugabe and something should be done as i have a funny feeling its going to be very bloody
inocent lives wil be lost and i just hope that we do not sit by and let this hapen know my question is this what is america going to do ? is africa going to step in if this starts to happen to wear mugabe orders his troops to sort out the trouble makers how many lives wil be lost before some one does something ?
george bush should have sent his troops to zimbabwe when america freed kuwait and dealt with this dictator like the armed forces dealt with sadam husane and his followers
though it has me concerned i feel no matter what is said in this thread we are going to see the out come shortly and i feel for the people of zimbabwe
al we can do is keep this country in our prayers and pray that mugabe does the decent thing as he is going to face god he is getting on in his age and he is not going to get a free pass to heaven so in one way he has blood on his hands and he wil be standing face to face with god and god wil send mugabe to wear his counter part is and sadam husane and mugabe can burn in hell for all eternity

It could be terrible, if he clings to power.
This time the people may just rise up.
Funny how Bob Marley wrote songs about things like Uprisings and Zimbabwe,
(and was once the most globally recognizable artist - particularly in Africa).
but I'm sure it wasn't exactly this he had in mind.
Hopefully the international community won't sit on their posteriors,
but will actually intervene.
Democracy only means anything if it is adhered too.
Mugabe looks to be in the process of flouting the will of the people of Zimbabwe.
Its all very well for the international community to say,
'let these countries sort out their problems internally'.
That holds, but only up to a point.
The French were largely responsible for Rwanda, since they had armed the Hutu's up to the teeth.
Mugabe has the resources and state apparatus to smash his impoverished people.
Sad.........
Just hoping and praying that 'the inevitable' doesn't happen.

Hi simple =) I know, it is the same old story over and over again, of scarcity in resources as basis of orchestrated genocide, where the original argument is void of contents and merely the trigger desired by the monsters. This same story goes for about every african nation nowadays as my previous list (algeria was missing in it I think) shows. The orginal blueprint for this behavior started (as far as my observance goes) when congo and later idi amin started their murderous work. What we see nowadays are copies of those scenarios, as if the ghost of idi amin was still there. Idi amin allegedly suffered from third stage syfillis, as all the signs of his madness were visible. The african continent has become a disgrace to God, and we should pray for the revival in this plagued continent.
God, will you please send peace protectors to help with the survival and revival in African nations, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord?

Interesting that you mention Algeria.
Algeria pre-dates most of the uprisings against colonial rule (I think).
The methods used in the battle of Algiers, (captured in the film),
provided the blueprint for modern day terrorist methods.
Notably suicide bombing.
-----------------
The conditions for Rwanda's demise were laid by the Belgian colonists.
( The Belgians created a totally artificial ethnicity ).
Players like Amin and Mugabe are really trapped in the past, and old colonial grievances.
A smart guy like Tsvangirai just wants to get on with the future.

Mbeki is visiting Zimbabwe right now, as 14 other south-african nations gather in Zambia, to discuss the situation in Zimbabwe.

South African leader Mbeki visits Zimbabwe; concerns over fighting
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
HARARE, Zimbabwe
The Zimbabwean opposition said Friday that no one from the party would meet with visiting South African President Thabo Mbeki, who it says should be replaced as mediator in the country's political crisis.
President Robert Mugabe met Mbeki on Friday on the South African leader's third visit as mediator on behalf of the Southern African Development Community.
The two men, wearing flower garlands, laughed at the airport as they walked hand-in-hand from Mbeki's aircraft. They did not speak with reporters, but later posed for photographs in Mugabe's residence, State House, where they held a meeting lasting nearly four hours.
Mbeki left later Friday.
However no one from the opposition Movement for Democratic Change met with Mbeki, as they believe he is biased toward Mugabe, opposition spokesman George Sibotshiwe said.

Dont expect SA pres Mbeki to do anything
First they where comrades in the apartheid era
Secondly Mugabes wife are a relative to Mbeki.
Thirdly Mugabe believes that Morgan wants to give Zim back to the West (Britain). so how can that happen.
Zim where about 10 years back a prosperious country, but false believes destroyed it, until his land reforms where
he cased away the white people.
Look at a country like Zambie where there where also food shortages, who took some of the white farmers from Zim, are producing now more than they need.

Now also the heeldragging neighbouring countries are saying Mugabe should be removed.
Dutch Foreign Secretary Verhagen said today that Tsvangirai is safe in the dutch embassy and that Mugabe has lost all moral authority.
All said and well, but that was already the case 5 years ago. It took 5 years before an election made this surface to others? It is kinda hypocritical, but then again: "Better late than never".
But you Mbeki, you called disgrace upon yourself.
