Rabbis warn Bush: Annapolis will bring destruction to US

A fringe group of prominent ultranationalist rabbis issued a harshly-worded letter to United States President George W. Bush earlier this week, warning him that the upcoming Annapolis peace conference would bring destruction upon America.



The rabbis evoke their previous prediction in 2005, when they published an open letter to Bush in the New York Times, demanding the US rescind its support of the disengagement plan.

"We wrote to President Bush, a man who believes in the Bible, to warn him against the terrible danger to which he is exposing his country by hosting such a conference," said Rabbi Meir Druckman, one of signatories to the letter.



"The land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. God punishes anyone who coerces Israel to give up its land," he said.




"There is no doubt the New Orleans flood from the Katrina hurricane was God's punishment for evicting the settlements," said Druckman, "with hundreds of thousands left homeless, hundreds killed or wounded and billions of dollars sent down the drain – can we really ignore God's hand collecting an eye for an eye?"



The disengagement from Gaza and the northern West Bank was completed August 23rd, 2005 – which was also the date Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas.



"Despite those consequences, yet again we find ourselves facing an initiative to expel Jews from Judea and Samaria and cede their cities to terror organizations. And once again the patrons of the event are President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.



"This time the Almighty is warning the US in advance: if the plague of water was not enough now he shall send flames. While hundreds of thousands of families have already fled the terrible fires in California, and we ask you, will you really forge ahead with this malevolent plan?" added Druckman.



The letter was authored by SOS Israel, a right-wing movement which earlier this year distributed citations to IDF soldiers who disobeyed orders and refused to take part in the disengagement.




The rabbis urged Bush's administration to back down from the current direction of the peace process, saying that not an inch of Israeli land should be ceded. "Be merciful to yourselves and the beloved America and its citizens. Lay down the hand you have raised against the Creator in war. Help the people of Israel fight without compromise against the terrorists who rise against it, and then, with a pure heart, you will truly be able to pray: May God bless America," the rabbis said.



Among the rabbis who signed the letter are several leading religious figures, including Rabbis Dov Wolfa, Yekutiel Rap, Gedalia Axelrod as well as the chief rabbi of Kiryat Arba and Hebron, Dov Lior and the son of former Chief Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, Yaakov Yosef.

Good post C. Some claim to be inspired by God but are actually pantheists. They serve a god who is not God. They take what they want from inspired Scriptures and add there own twist to things to accomplish their will, not God's will. Was this not the same case as with Ahab? Remember, Ahab had levitcal priests who he consulted as well, whom he called prophets. Eventually, Elijah put to rest who was a real prophet and who served baal. Nonetheless, many of the innocents suffered greatly for their faith until the cup of wrath was filled. In due time, Ahab perished as did the wicked jezebel.
Nonetheless, many times God Almighty gives the wicked a temporary victory over the vineyard, sending the wicked a strong delusion, so they can not see what is "really" happening.
It is clear that certain administration leaders really serve the god of Edom, Saudi Arabia, because deals have been struck with the kings of the earth in order to benefit a globalist view of the world.....
In sum, they do not have real faith that Jesus/Jehova will intercede on their behalf if they just trust in Him and do what He commands. Therefore they have a false faith predicated on compromise with the wicked counsel of men.

Sitting On A Time Bomb

As the United States prepares for its upcoming Middle East peace conference to be held in Annapolis, God is, in my opinion, drawing our attention to the fact that He is keeping a close eye on developments concerning this most blessed of nations lending an ear to Israel's enemies and, in fact, providing them with support to obtain portions of Israel's God-given covenant lands.

How is God drawing the attention of those willing to see the spiritual connotations of events transpiring in the world around us as Annapolis draws near, potentially placing our nation in great peril of coming up on the curse side of God's promise of blessing and curse recorded in Genesis 12:3? He's drawing our eyes toward Yellowstone - and dramatically so of late, in my opinion.

The Independent recently unveiled an article on its site entitled "Yellowstone: the time bomb under America."

The opening lines of the article are anything but comforting, reading as follows (emphasis added mine):

"Deep beneath Yellowstone National Park lies a vast super-volcano which, if it blew up, could devastate much of the US. Recently, it's been a bit too restless for comfort."
Too restless for comfort indeed when we consider that Annapolis may well bring us closer to what European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana is saying is "doable" within nine months, referring to a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians that would birth a Palestinian state on Israel's covenant lands!

Conclusions

Trying to find the United States of America in Bible prophecy is like looking for a needle in a haystack. May Yellowstone be an answer as to why? I'm not sure but the last paragraph of the Independent's article certainly doesn't close the door on that being a possibility (emphasis added mine):
And what if the ground at Yellowstone does not start to go down? Well, these calderas, he admits, "occasionally they burp". Let's hope the park's belly-ache resolves itself – such a "burp" would shake half of the planet.
In spite of God's clear warning provided in Genesis 12:3 that He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse her, the United States, potentially within a year of a peace deal coming into existence that may well lead to the prophesied cries of "peace and safety" foretold in 1st Thessalonians 5:3, is casting God's Word aside in spite of many Christian leaders and Jewish rabbis publicly warning against the United States helping Israel make what Bible prophecy clearly demonstrates to us is the equivalent of a covenant with hell is anything but wise!

I don't know about any of you but, if I was sitting on a time bomb, I think I'd be careful concerning how my actions might influence the outcome of my predicament, especially if the bomb's designer was watching my every move with trigger in hand and I'd been amply forewarned by those who know him best that certain practices of mine could lead to disaster for me!

But that's just me.

May the Lord have mercy on those He is willing to, particularly those of us who love Him and fear His righteous judgments.......................................benny

EU’s Mouth Says 9 Months Might Bring Forth Israeli-Palestinian Peace
The number one issue involving where this generation stands at present on God’s prophetic timeline, in my view, stepped to front and center this past week. The matter couldn’t have been brought into the world’s news spotlight by a more dramatic or significant spokesman. I think it more than interesting that the term "9 months" was used by the top EU diplomat for the possible birth of peace in the region.

“JERICHO - The EU's top diplomat said on Tuesday an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal was 'doable' within nine months and that the issue of the Golan Heights should be addressed at the Annapolis peace conference this month.

‘What we have in mind now is to finish the (Israeli-Palestinian)agreement after Annapolis in, let's say, eight, nine months -- during the period of time in which the administration, the present American administration, will stay in power,’ the European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, told Reuters in the West Bank town of Jericho.

‘It's doable. It requires political will. It requires effort. It's not easy. But it's doable,’ Solana said” ("Solana: Israeli-Palestinian peace deal 'doable' within nine months," Reuters, Wed., Nov. 14, 2007).

Considering Jesus’ words describing the earliest times of the tribulation era, the last seven years of human history before His second coming, the words last week by Javier Solana, the EU’s chief foreign policy mover and shaker, take on imminent importance. Jesus said: “All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:8).

The Lord was speaking about all of the end-times signals He had just given. These things, during that future time, He indicated, will be like the travail of a woman with child. The things going on will come in birth pang like convulsions.

The EU’s chief spokesman’s word, then, become more than mere coincidence--to me, at least--when he gives a nine-month span, the period of human gestation, for peace to come forth from the Middle East’s bloody, three millennia-long turmoil. Whether a so-called peace document will, in fact, be produced by the time nine months has transpired is beyond anyone’s knowing, except God. But, certainly Planet Earth is pregnant with every indicator Jesus laid out in the Olivet Discourse. It looks very much like this generation is experiencing birth pang-like contractions of apocalypse.

Bible prophecy, for the student who will put serious effort into praying for discernment, is quite clear about the covenant of peace that will come out of mankind’s efforts to end the conflict between Israel and her enemies at the conclusion of the age. We have looked at the prophecy many times:

"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate” (Dan. 9:26-27).

So, the most fascinating aspect of thinking on developments of this past week is that a chief member of the European Union, which is constituted for the most part by the region that was the nucleus of the ancient Roman Empire, is making such dramatic statements about the ongoing peace process in the Middle East. That region of the European continent is, according to Daniel 9:26-27, the matrix out of which will grow the beast regime of Revelation chapter 13.

”The Prince that shall come,” will "confirm" a covenant of peace that will be, apparently, already in place. Is the peace process, pushed by the American administration for so long, and now done so with arm-twisting of Olmert and the Israeli government, the “covenant” that will bring forth a charismatic European leader to personally get the deal done? Tony Blair, former prime minister of England, has been thrust by the EU and the other Quartet nations to the forefront of all going on in the "Roadmap to Peace" efforts in the Middle East. Javier Solana sees the gestation period for the peace process as nine months in duration. America, which was blessed of God to act as midwife for the birth of modern Israel in 1948, now seems to be acting as midwife for the birth of something spawned from the mind of Satan. The peace covenant that will be confirmed by the prince that shall come will be not a beautiful new baby, but a hideous monster-state as seen in the strange beast described in Daniel chapter 7 and Revelation chapter 13. God’s Holy Word calls it a “covenant made with death and hell” (Isa. 28:15,18).

Whether this is that covenant, I nor anyone else can know. It will be interesting, however, to observe the issues and events of these upcoming months to see if the birth pangs grow significantly more pronounced.

The rapture of the Church is scheduled to precede the confirmation of the covenant by the prince that will come. By how much elapsed time, we don’t know. The rapture is imminent, and will be instantaneous. "Be ready," is the exhortation Jesus gives us who anticipate His Call to “come up hither” (Rev. 4:1)

Saints of God,

We tiptoe around battles when we should be charging into them with our swords high, our voices strong, our faith unshakeable in the One who sits on the Throne.

We admire, or fear, men and women in positions of power, when we should know that it is God - not man - who has the final authority to make the ultimate decisions on this earth; in whose hands the hearts of kings are turned like watercourses in the desert.

We are forever making apologetic noises or offering explanations - almost excusing ourselves before this secular world - when we should bebold about who we are and in Whom we believe.

Where is our faith? Where is our resolve? Where is our courage? Where is our strength?

We know it is not in ourselves. But we need to know that we do have strength – infinite, unbeatable strength: For our strength is in the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Creator of heaven and earth; the LORD God of armies; the LORD God of Israel.

With Him at our head, there is no power on this earth that can withstand us; no power that can harm even one hair on our heads. We are invincible in Him.

Psalm 149 does not identify the forces over whom God has given His saints authority as only spiritual principalities and powers. It is nations, peoples, kings and nobles that we we can take vengeance on, punish, and bind up.

(Of course we do not fall into the error of those groups or cults that have resorted to physical violence to try bring about the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. Nor do we need to. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds… (2 Corinthians 10:3-4) It is the strongholds over the leaders and nations of this world that we can pull down.)

It is the LORD who commands His forces – those who believe in Him – that we have a crucial fight to fight.

It is He who has equipped us to engage the enemy in this battle.

It is He who trains our hands to war.

And it is He who will ensure that, even when we appear to lose some battles, we will be victorious at the end.

But let us fight! Let us not join those who sit back and say – “Everything will work out well; God is in control; we’ve read the back of the Book and we know who finally wins.”

Israel – whether her people will accept it or not – is fighting for her very life. Her real enemies are the hordes of hell, commanded by the devil who knows that he is waging this war to destroy Israel in order to delay, and if possible even thwart, the purposes of God and the sending of His Messiah.

Israel’s leaders are unbelieving, corrupt, weak; they are unable to withstand pressure from their nation’s so-called friends abroad. It is as if they have already given in, have resigned themselves to the “inevitable.”

We have not.

Two months ago, hundreds of Christian Zionists who had come up to Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles were led to pray, and pray repeatedly, that God would foil the concentrated US-led effort to get Israel to Annapolis for a meeting whose purpose is to push for the creation of an Arab state called Palestine on the biblical and historical Land of Israel; an Arab state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the Temple Mount firmly within its grasp.

In the ensuing weeks, as more alarms were sounded about the enormous danger this conference presents to the future existence of the Jewish state and to the well being of the United States, untold numbers of similar prayers have gone up from Christians all around the world.

These prayers are not falling on deaf ears. As is clear for all with spiritual eyes to see, God is sowing confusion and frustration among the parties to this shameful event. The sounds of His scornful laughter is echoing through the skies.

As I write this, a mere week before the conference is supposed to take place, reports reveal that the Bush administration’s happy dream of “two nations living side by side in peace” is just that: a happy dream. Many of the dreamers are being rudely woken up.

Top officials in the Israeli and American governments appear despairing of any meaningful outcome from this conference.

Newspaper headlines from the last few days tell the story:

“Annapolis may not include joint statement – Gaps between sides cause reevaluation of what to do at Maryland meeting”
“US plans talks even without agreement on joint statement”
“Barak blamed for Annapolis inertia”
“Uncertainty over Annapolis dates”
“Peres tells Turkish parliament: Summit cannot be allowed to fail”
“Israel sends out mixed signals on Mideast meeting”
“Israel – We won’t negotiate at Annapolis”
“Olmert: One should not exaggerate summit significance”
Writing under the headline “See you at the next summit,” a respected left-wing columnist concluded Monday that “the Annapolis conference is over before it started.”

Likewise, on the same day, chief Oslo-Agreement architect and arch-leftist Yossi Beilin said it is “better to skip the Annapolis meet than go there like this.”

Meanwhile the Arab states are waiting until the last minute (Friday before the conference) to decide whether they will participate or not. It’s called hedging their bets.

The Jerusalem Post reported Monday that the Egyptians “have already advised finding a suitable pretext to postpone the parley indefinitely.”

And Egyptian officials suddenly announced a surprise meeting tp be held between Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Israeli Prime Minister Tuesday.

Some analysts believe that the Bush administration has too much riding on Annapolis; that it would be disastrous to scupper it now.

The final decision could be made in the next 48 hours.

And yet, Christian Zionists, we have not prayed enough.

If there was an urgent need to pray before, it is doubly urgent now. We dare not relax, satisfied at the obstacles and impediments that have nearly derailed this conference. We want it derailed completely.

If the leaders of the world’s only Jewish state go to Annapolis, even with expectations greatly lowered, it will still cost Israel dearly. She will stand alone in Maryland, and the world will work hard to impose its will upon her.

Be not resigned; do not despair; do not fear. Rather, wielding the Word without hesitation, and proclaiming God’s promises for all powers to hear, let us fiercely engage the enemy of our souls - the enemy of Israel.

Let us rend the heavens with our prayers to the Almighty, to stop “Annapolis” now.”

Israeli and Palestinian negotiators have agreed to set up three committees to deal with civil affairs issues: water and the environment; legal matters; and economic subjects.

The move came as Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni held another round of talks Sunday with the head of the Palestinian final status negotiating team, former Palestinian Authority prime minister Ahmed Qurei. The regular negotiating teams were joined by 20 experts - 10 from each side - who will make up the core of the three new committees.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel hailed the move as an indication that the negotiations were on the right track. "It's definitely a sign of progress," Mekel told The Jerusalem Post. "An indication that the negotiations are moving forward."

The idea is that the new panels will meet regularly, in parallel with the main negotiating teams, which will stick to the core issues of borders, refugees and Jerusalem.

The Israeli representatives on the new committees include the directors-general of a number of ministries who met with Livni last week to draw up the government's position on a variety of the technical issues. The Palestinian experts include five former PA ministers.

Up till now it has been difficult to assess the state of the final status talks, which were launched in the wake of November's Annapolis gathering, as both sides observed a policy of discretion fearing any publicity could damage the chances of success.

Both parties seem to have backtracked over recent weeks from the initial goal of clinching a peace agreement this year, before the next US administration takes over. Both Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad spoke publicly of a declaration of principles as being a more realistic prospect for 2008 than a fully-fledged peace deal.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said that what was decided on Sunday was that when experts are needed they will be brought in by the parties.
