Justice
God is AlMighty

God I could not stop the foolishness
They took wrong turn after wrong turn
They laughed at my warning to turn away from greed
They laughed at my warning to turn away from hatred
They told me outright NO flat in my face.

You know the number of tears
You know the number of prayers
You know the number of smiles
You know the number of helping hands.
I am so happy that You Know.

I have seen Your Love
I have seen Your Mercy
I have seen Your Humor
I have seen Your Hand
God, only YOU can save the Day.

I tried in my foolishness
My toes are frozen
My knee limps
My back is battered
My bowel is poisoned
My ears are clogged
My eyes are fuzzy
My head is spinning dizzy
My purse is empty
My life is on hold
All as You commanded
All that I possess are
Obedience and Prayer
Your Word carved in my Heart
And I know yes I know:
it is more than enough
for the journey Home.

Thank You, Merciful One.
Rose
Justice,

Your visions are truly from God, I can tell, you are humble and honest and I'm sure that is what God is looking for as a messenger of his, not someone who can crack Scripture or crunch numbers... but a holy person who has devoted his/her life to Him and His Word.

May we all have humble hearts like you. Your visions, your poems,... they are truly chilling but I get a release from them... the fear is gone.

Love, Rose

I think America is in for it! I knew we were experiencing some unusual weather and some goofy placed earthquakes. And if this is true and we know from previous articles from various news organizations not just WND that such a plan has been proposed by America to divide Jerusalem, I just cringe to think what will come next to US. God will never stand for it.

I'm just waiting to see if/when confirmation of this comes to the Israeli newspapers and what Shas will do. They are the only ones that can block it at this point, unless Barak pulls out of the government

JERUSALEM – The United States, which has been mediating negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority here, has proposed a plan to divide Jerusalem, WND has learned.

The plan, divided into separate phases, among other things calls for Israel eventually to forfeit parts of the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site.

According to the first stage of the U.S. plan, which was obtained by WND, Israel would give the PA some municipal and security sovereignty over key Arab neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem.

The PA would be allowed to open some official institutions in Jerusalem, could elect a mayor for the Palestinian side of the city and would deploy police forces to maintain law and order.

The initial stage also calls for the PA to operate Jerusalem municipal institutions, such as offices to oversee trash collection and maintenance of roads.

After five years, if both sides keep their certain commitments called for in a larger principal agreement, according to the U.S. plan the PA would be given full sovereignty over the eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods and also over sections of the Temple Mount. The plan doesn't specify which parts of the Temple Mount would be forfeited to the Palestinians.

oh dear...if this is happens... pray our Lord doesn't tarry...

That would make sense then why.........

Western Wall Too 'Controversial' For Bush Visit

(IsraelNN.com) The Western Wall has been deemed too controversial a place for US President George W. Bush to visit. He is opting instead for Masada – where Jewish rebels committed mass suicide.

Bush will be visiting Israel as part of Israel’s 60th Independence Day celebrations. His visit will be 60 hours long. In addition to addressing the Knesset, Bush is reportedly searching for a symbolic location to visit, with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as his tour guide.

Media analyst Dr. Aaron Lerner of Israel Media Research and Analysis says that the phenomenon of Bush steering clear of the Western Wall does not bode well and belies statements by Israeli officials’ claiming an improved relationship with the US due to Israel’s willingness to make repeated concessions to Fatah. ..........while the Pope can visit the Western Wall in what was clearly the "Israeli" portion of his visit, President Bush can't make the same photo op as part of his historic trip marking Israel's 60th anniversary,” Lerner opined. “And now an example of the incredible lack of thinking on the part of whoever is working on this trip: instead of visiting places associated with Israel's rebirth or ancient life - the idea is a photo op at a place remembered in history for the group of Jews who committed suicide rather than fall captive to the Romans.”

Dr. Lerner concluded, with tongue-in-cheek: “Then again. How appropriate. PM Olmert, who critics warn is following a suicidal path with the Palestinians, will visit Masada with Bush.”

Palestinians: Discussion on Jerusalem to be delayed

Ynet learns that Israel, Palestinians discussing US proposal for temporary five-year agreement to be signed by year's end without addressing issues of Jerusalem, refugees. 'US pressure will force sides to accept offer,' Palestinian source states

The final stage negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians on the issue of Jerusalem will be postponed by five years, according to a new proposal discussed by Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and PA negotiator Ahmed Qureia, a Palestinian source told Ynet.

According to Palestinian sources, the two sides are to reach a general agreement on principles by the end of the year that would not include reference to the questions of Jerusalem or the Palestinian refugees.

The agreement would be a temporary one – valid for five years – during which the PA would be granted some municipal sovereignty in the capital and would be allowed to provide various services to the Palestinian residents of the city.

Ynet has learned that this new outline has been presented to Israel and the Palestinians by US mediators, and that the two sides have been discussing it in recent weeks. While both sides are reluctant to accept the proposal, a source involved in the talks said that American pressure may force them to do so.

MK Ran Cohen (Meretz-Yahad) added that “this is a grave turn of events if these reports are indeed true.

“There can be no peace accord without an agreement on Jerusalem. Postponing talks on Jerusalem can only lead to disaster and more wars,” said Cohen.

There are just so many conflicting reports.

The agreement would be a temporary one – valid for five years – during which the PA would be granted some municipal sovereignty in the capital and would be allowed to provide various services to the Palestinian residents of the city.

If you give the PA an inch they will want it all. To me there is no such thing in this arena of a Temporary agreement. Once you give them the land they will never leave and will demand more. We all know that they want to Destroy Israel and America is helping the world do this. Watch out America!!!

The word peace keeps coming in my head
and I hear the Prince of Peace to my heart-
there will be no peace until I come back and fix
all the mess we men have done.

True peace only with the Prince of Peace.
Anxiously awaiting His return.

Things are a mess.
But we have work to do, there is a message.
Lately again I keep seeing John the Baptist

PESSAH (PASSOVER)

This year the Seder is on April 19th, 2008

The prophetic fulfillment of this Holiday is clear. It is a time to thank God for our freedom, and that covers a volume of types of freedoms. To be a free people, and to be free to worship God. But the word that summed up the true meaning of Pessah is "Redemption". Rabbi Saul (Paul) sums up this theme in his letter to the Corinthian Believers. He was addressing a moral problem in their members. To solve their problem Saul draws upon a well-known analogy of Pessah.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know the saying, it takes only a little chametz to leaven a whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old chametz, so that you can be a new batch of dough, because in reality you are unleavened. For your Pessah Lamb, the Messiah, has been sacrificed. So let us celebrate the Seder, not with leftover charmetz, the charmetz of wickedness and evil, but with the matzah of purity and truth. (I-Corinthians 5:6-8)

Paul is telling Believers to celebrate Passover, to have a Seder (Passover Meal) that celebrates the deliverance from Slavery and being a free people. To set aside this day to thank, praise and worship God. I don’t want to dwell on this too much but it was the Catholic Church that said "to do so was far to Jewish," and they stopped the celebration of Passover in the Church. It however created a great problem. What about the Resurrection, what would they do about the fact that all the early Believers celebrated the Resurrection on the day of First Fruits? (Part of the Passover celebration)

Yeshua died on the Feast of Pessah, was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and rose on the Feast of First Fruits. Fifty days later the Holy Spirit was sent on the next Holiday in line Shavuot (Pentecost). This was what is referred to as the first advent. The first three Holiday’s follow each other, in the first three days, (Pessah, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits) and we celebrate them all within an 8 day celebration, and we just call it Passover (Pessah). But the Catholic Church had a big problem, and they solved it with a bunch of paganism brought in from Babylon, and called the Resurrection (First Fruits) Easter. But enough of that, for now I want to just talk about Pessah, and possibly your getting it right.

Before going on, I want to make something clear, I am not suggesting that you must keep all the Jewish laws concerning Pessah, you have the freedom to adapt the preparation to a comfortable degree. To some they may celebrate more than others. It is well however to note, that what I am saying is from the Word, and I know it pleases God for His people to reach out to Him in truth instead of paganism.

Prophetic Fulfillment

In a house there is much preparations for the Seder, the house is cleaned from top to bottom, there is no bread or leaven left in the house anywhere. After the first week of Nisan, for focus is very directed towards Pessah. After sundown on the fourteenth day of Nisan, a special ceremony called bedikat khameytz (the search of the leaven) takes place in the home. The last tiny bits of leaven are found and removed from the house, taken outside and burned.

This is interesting because the house had been previously cleaned, so the leader of the house had to hide some small bits here and there in the house to be found. Then the leader takes a feather and a wooden spoon and a lighted candle. And the family begins searching for the final leaven. This is a great time to get the children involved, it’s like the game hide and seek.

There are many spiritual lessons for Believers here. The leaven (sin) must be cleaned from our house (our hearts). In so doing we must use the light of the candle (the Word of God) Illumines our sin (Psalm 119:11). The most beautiful of all, the wooden spoon that holds the leaven, (the Wooden Cross that holds all of our sins and carries them away). To the Believer who walks with God and is filled with His Spirit will discern many spiritual truths in this, and begin to know why the Word tells us to celebrate the Seder (Peasch).

It is my belief that when a true Believer discovers any Biblical truth and applies it to their life, doing so enriches them. So it is my prayer that you may experience a closer relationship with Messiah Yeshua our Passover Lamb in and intimate and practical way. Let us therefore celebrate the feast (I-Cor. 5:

So with the above preparation, we are ready to begin the Seder, the festive feast called the Seder. It is full of wonderful spiritual truths for the Believer as well as the Jew. Hopefully you will find a good Haggadah (booklet of how to hold a Seder) and begin a spiritual trip that will enrich your life and give you a deeper closer walk with our Messiah. If I can be of any help, please let me know.

Shalom and Hag Same’ach (happy Holiday),

jerry golden

Bush Administration Counsels Carter Not to Meet With Hamas

10 April 2008

The Bush administration says it has counseled former President Jimmy Carter against having a meeting with the head of the militant Palestinian group Hamas. Mr. Carter reportedly intends to meet Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal next week in the Syrian capital Damascus. VOA's David Gollust reports from the State Department.

The State Department routinely helps facilitate meetings former U.S. presidents have with foreign leaders and other important figures.

But it has served notice that it will not provide any logistical help for Mr. Carter if he meets the Hamas chief, saying it would be against the interests of peace and undercut efforts to isolate Hamas, which the State Department lists as a terrorist organization.

Mr. Carter, a Democrat who held the White House from 1977 to 1981, reportedly plans to meet with Hamas leader Meshaal late next week in Damascus

In a talk with reporters, State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack said the former president was advised against the Hamas meeting last week when he discussed his travel plans ..

QUOTE
According to Ritter, a war with Iran would speed up the ongoing decline of US standing in the world, and afterward Russia and China would be ready to take advantage of the resulting power vacuum

I think this is very significant. It seems very prophetic with the implication here of Russia and China taking over. The Gog think appears to be growing.

yes I agree this very significant.
Heavenly Father I ask you in jesus name protect your people in Iran. Oh Lord and open the eyes of the Iran presdient and bring him to the saving knowlege of your son Jesus Christ, and i pray that the lost in the area and muslims convert to you sweet Lord Jesus. In Jesus name Amen

If Bush goes to war it will be an easy entry for OBAMA to become president and GOD FORBID THAT NIGHTMARE.

A lot of Iranians do not want Ahmadinejad in power and there could be an internal coup to take him out of power, with our help. One can hope that anyway. It could save a lot of blood spilling if they could put someone with some sense in that position.

A Mystery in the Middle East
By George Friedman

The Arab-Israeli region of the Middle East is filled with rumors of war. That is about as unusual as the rising of the sun, so normally it would not be worth mentioning. But like the proverbial broken clock that is right twice a day, such rumors occasionally will be true. In this case, we don't know that they are true, and certainly it's not the rumors that are driving us. But other things — minor and readily explicable individually — have drawn our attention to the possibility that something is happening.

The first thing that drew our attention was a minor, routine matter. Back in February, the United States started purchasing oil for its Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). The SPR is a reserve of crude oil stored in underground salt domes. Back in February, it stood at 96.2 percent of capacity, which is pretty full as far as we are concerned. But the U.S. Department of Energy decided to increase its capacity. This move came in spite of record-high oil prices and the fact that the purchase would not help matters. It also came despite potential political fallout, since during times like these there is generally pressure to release reserves. Part of the step could have been the bureaucracy cranking away, and part of it could have been the feeling that the step didn't make much difference. But part of it could have been based on real fears of a disruption in oil supplies. By itself, the move meant nothing. But it did cause us to become thoughtful.

Also in February, someone assassinated Imad Mughniyah, a leader of Hezbollah, in a car bomb explosion in Syria. It was assumed the Israelis had killed him, although there were some suspicions the Syrians might have had him killed for their own arcane reasons. In any case, Hezbollah publicly claimed the Israelis killed Mughniyah, and therefore it was expected the militant Shiite group would take revenge. In the past, Hezbollah responded not by attacking Israel but by attacking Jewish targets elsewhere, as in the Buenos Aires attacks of 1992 and 1994.

In March, the United States decided to dispatch the USS Cole, then under Sixth Fleet command, to Lebanese coastal waters. Washington later replaced it with two escorts from the Nassau (LHA-4) Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), reportedly maintaining a minor naval presence in the area. (Most of the ESG, on a regularly scheduled deployment, is no more than a few days sail from the coast, as it remains in the Mediterranean Sea.) The reason given for the American naval presence was to serve as a warning to the Syrians not to involve themselves in Lebanese affairs. The exact mission of the naval presence off the Levantine coast — and the exact deterrent function it served — was not clear, but there they were. The Sixth Fleet has gone out of its way to park and maintain U.S. warships off the Lebanese coast.

Hezbollah leaders being killed by the Israelis and the presence of American ships off the shores of Mediterranean countries are not news in and of themselves. These things happen. The killing of Mughniyah is notable only to point out that as much as Israel might have wanted him dead, the Israelis knew this fight would escalate. But anyone would have known this. So all we know is that whoever killed Mughniyah wanted to trigger a conflict. The U.S. naval presence off the Levantine coast is notable in that Washington, rather busy with matters elsewhere, found the bandwidth to get involved here as well.

With the situation becoming tense, the Israelis announced in March that they would carry out an exercise in April called Turning Point 2. Once again, an Israeli military exercise is hardly interesting news. But the Syrians apparently got quite interested. After the announcement, the Syrians deployed three divisions — two armored, one mechanized — to the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Bekaa Valley, the western part of which is Hezbollah's stronghold. The Syrians didn't appear to be aggressive. Rather, they deployed these forces in a defensive posture, in a way walling off their part of the valley.

The Syrians are well aware that in the event of a conventional war with Israel, they would experience a short but exciting life, as they say. They thus are hardly going to attack Israel. The deployment therefore seemed intended to keep the Israelis on the Lebanese side of the border — on the apparent assumption the Israelis were going into the Bekaa Valley. Despite Israeli and Syrian denials of the Syrian troop buildup along the border, Stratfor sources maintain that the buildup in fact happened. Normally, Israel would be jumping at the chance to trumpet Syrian aggression in response to these troop movements, but, instead, the Israelis downplayed the buildup.

When the Israelis kicked off Turning Point 2, which we regard as a pretty interesting name, it turned out to be the largest exercise in Israeli history. It involved the entire country, and was designed to test civil defenses and the ability of the national command authority to continue to function in the event of an attack with unconventional weapons — chemical and nuclear, we would assume. This was a costly exercise. It also involved calling up reserves, some of them for the exercise, and, by some reports, others for deployment to the north against Syria. Israel does not call up reserves casually. Reserve call-ups are expensive and disrupt the civilian economy. These appear small, but in the environment of Turning Point 2, it would not be difficult to mobilize larger forces without being noticed.

The Syrians already were deeply concerned by the Israeli exercise. Eventually, the Lebanese government got worried, too, and started to evacuate some civilians from the South. Hezbollah, which still hadn't retaliated for the Mughniyah assassination, also claimed the Israelis were about to attack it, and reportedly went on alert and mobilized its forces. The Americans, who normally issue warnings and cautions to everyone, said nothing to try to calm the situation. They just sat offshore on their ships.

It is noteworthy that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak canceled a scheduled visit to Germany this week. The cancellation came immediately after the reports of the Syrian military redeployment were released. Obviously, Barak needed to be in Israel for Turning Point 2, but then he had known about the exercise for at least a month. Why cancel at the last minute? While we are discussing diplomacy, we note that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney visited Oman — a country with close relations with Iran — and then was followed by U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. By itself not interesting, but why the high-level interest in Oman at this point?

Now let's swing back to September 2007, when the Israelis bombed something in Syria near the Turkish border. As we discussed at the time, for some reason the Israelis refused to say what they had attacked. It made no sense for them not to trumpet what they carefully leaked — namely, that they had attacked a nuclear facility. Proving that Syria had a secret nuclear program would have been a public relations coup for Israel. Nevertheless, no public charges were leveled. And the Syrians remained awfully calm about the bombing.

Rumors now are swirling that the Israelis are about to reveal publicly that they in fact bombed a nuclear reactor provided to Syria by North Korea. But this news isn't all that big. Also rumored is that the Israelis will claim Iranian complicity in building the reactor. And one Israeli TV station reported April 8 that Israel really had discovered Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, which it said had been smuggled to Syria.

Now why the Bush administration wouldn't have trumpeted news of the Syrian reactor worldwide in September 2007 is beyond us, but there obviously were some reasons — assuming the TV report is true, which we have no way of establishing. In fact, we have no idea why the Israelis are choosing this moment to rehash the bombing of this site. But whatever their reason, it certainly raises a critical question. If the Syrians are developing a nuclear capability, what are the Israelis planning to do about it?

No one of these things, by itself, is of very great interest. And taken together they do not provide the means for a clear forecast. Nevertheless, a series of rather ordinary events, taken together, can constitute something significant. Tensions in the Middle East are moving well beyond the normal point, and given everything that is happening, events are moving to a point where someone is likely to take military action. Whether Hezbollah will carry out a retaliatory strike or Israel a pre-emptive strike in Lebanon, or whether the Israelis' real target is Iran, tensions systematically have been ratcheted up to the point where we, in our simple way, are beginning to wonder whether something has to give.

All together, these events are fairly extraordinary. Ignoring all rhetoric — and the Israelis have gone out of their way to say that they are not looking for a fight — it would seem that each side, but particularly the Americans and Israelis, have gone out of their way to signal that they are expecting conflict. The Syrians have also signaled that they expect conflict, and Hezbollah always claims there is about to be conflict.

What is missing is this: who will fight whom, and why, and why now. The simple explanation is that Israel wants a second round with Hezbollah. But while that might be true, it doesn't explain everything else that has happened. Most important, it doesn't explain the simultaneous revelations about the bombing of Syria. It also doesn't explain the U.S. naval deployment. Is the United States about to get involved in a war with Hezbollah, a war that the Israelis should handle themselves? Are the Israelis going to topple Syrian President Bashar al Assad — and then wind up with a Sunni government, or worse, an Israeli occupation of Syria? None of that makes a lot of sense.

In truth, all of this may dissolve into nothing much. In intelligence analysis, however, sometimes a set of not-fully-coherent facts must be reported, and that is what we are doing now. There is no clear pattern; there is no obvious direction this is taking. Nevertheless, when we string together events from February until now, we see a persistently escalating pattern of behavior. In fact, what we can say most clearly is that there is escalation, without being able to say what is the clear direction of the escalation or the purpose.

We would like to wrap this up with a crystal clear explanation and forecast. But we can't. The motives of the various actors are opaque; and taken separately, the individual events all have quite innocent explanations. We are not prepared to say war is imminent, nor even what sort of war there would be. We are simply prepared to say that the course of events since February — and really since the September 2007 attack on Syria — have been startling, and they appear to be reaching some sort of hard-to-understand crescendo.

The bombing of Syria symbolizes our confusion. Why would Syria want a nuclear reactor and why put it on the border of Turkey, a country the Syrians aren't particularly friendly with? If the Syrians had a nuclear reactor, why would the Israelis be coy about it? Why would the Americans? Having said nothing for months apart from careful leaks, why are the Israelis going to speak publicly now? And if what they are going to say is simply that the North Koreans provided the equipment, what's the big deal? That was leaked months ago.

The events of September 2007 make no sense and have never made any sense. The events we have seen since February make no sense either. That is noteworthy, and we bring it to your attention. We are not saying that the events are meaningless. We are saying that we do not know their meaning. But we can't help but regard them as ominous.

Global food riots turn deadly
By David R. Sands
April 10, 2008

DESPERATE TIMES: Men accused of looting near the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince are put in a police vehicle in Haiti yesterday. The rise in global food prices has caused thievery and riots, as well as fatalities.

Deadly clashes over higher costs for staple foods have broken out in Egypt, Haiti and several African states, and an international food expert yesterday warned of more clashes with no short-term relief in sight.

"World food prices have risen 45 percent in the last nine months and there are serious shortages of rice, wheat and [corn]," Jacques Diouf, head of the Rome-based U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said at a major conference in New Delhi yesterday.

"There is a risk that this unrest will spread in countries where 50 to 60 percent of income goes to food," he said.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon issued a personal appeal for calm in Haiti yesterday. U.N. peacekeepers were called to protect the residence of President Rene Preval from rioters protesting sharp increases in the prices of food and fuel. At least five people have been reported killed in disturbances since last week after the cost of rice doubled and gas prices rose a third time since February.

A supermarket, several gas station marts and a government rice warehouse were looted, the Associated Press reported.

Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif this week promised concessions to workers in the industrial city of Mahalla al-Kobra after two days of rioting over rising food prices left one protester dead.

The clashes were described as the most serious anti-government demonstrations since 1977 riots erupted over soaring bread prices.
Justice
It seems that the world leaders are not yet hearing so good.

Dividing the Holy Land? It would be equal to dividing the US. What would the answer be? "I DON'T THINK SO, BUDDY!" Well, that is also what God says.

Those who wonder why the buildup in the ME region, have you considered the fact that most of the world reacted lukewarm when Ah-Mad-(Man)-In-Jihad was blasting genocide ideas around? Where were the world leaders? Those that signed the existence papers of the State Israel in 1948?
And YET you ask why the buildup? How naive are ye?

Food shortages threaten gains against poverty
Soaring food prices have set back global poverty reduction by seven years, and the Group of Seven industrialized nations should move quickly to fill the United Nations' $500 million gap in emergency food assistance, World Bank Chairman Robert B. Zoellick said yesterday.

'Crisis' with loss of Catholic schools
About 300,000 elementary and high school students have been displaced by the closure of more than 1,300 Catholic schools since 1990, mostly in cities, and this "crisis" should be reversed by church leaders, the public, philanthropists and lawmakers, according to a report made public yesterday.

Why Ahmadinejad smiles

The regime affiliated Iranian Fars news agency published a sensational story this week. According to the Fars report, Saudi Arabia and Israel collaborated in killing Iranian terror-master Imad Mughniyeh. The story is important regardless of whether it is true. It is important because it says something important about the nature of Iran's relationship with Syria. Specifically, it says that Iran views Syria as a vassal state.

Why Iran wants war before Bush leaves office

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason Iran wants war before bush leaves is because in the worlds eyes bush is a warmonger Iran could start it and blame it on BUSH thats exactly why they keep bragging on there nuke program . Just like they almost started on jan 6 2008 in the persian gulf .

That is a very plausible interpretation of events , I haven't heard that anywhere, How did you come up with that?

I believe Iran is doing exactly that--and they just may get it, too.

Because they do not want to start it

I hope Bush Drops a bomb on their Nuke facility right before he leaves office, othewise prepare for an arms race in the middle East (and They'll use them)

Don't count on it, though.

When you say "Because they do not want to start it". Do you feel they do not want war, or that they simply don't want to be sen as the nation that started it?

I'm inclined to believe this.

Well, the USA could launch maybe a cruise missle attack or something and just say it was overdue payback from Iran's unacceptable acts of aggression back in '79...

Vengence is best served cold...

I agree. Look at the incident with the British sailors. The Iranians pretended the British were in Iranian waters and then pounced on them for trespassing. They even faked up tapes. The Iranians were clearly trying to pick a fight, while at the same time appearing to be the grieved party.

Oh, and then, Ahmadinejad became Mr. Magnanimous and "pardoned" the British sailors, which seemed to be a nice gesture but really prevented the British from ever proving the innocence of the sailors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Iran has been at low level or closed level war for years, we just keep upping the bar so we don't have to acknowledge it and respond in kind. Up until recently they were looking for how much they could get away with, without us responding. We helped them make it easy.

Now that they apparently want us to respond and we have worked ourselves into a corner....we have justified or overlooked all of these "proxy" or "subject" actions directed by Iran for so long, how do we hold Iran accountable now. We've spent a decade justifying why not to hold Iran accountable.

Oh what a tangled webb we weave......

... if we're foolish enough to take the bait and play the role.

Iran doesn't want a war. They're just like every Middle East muslim country' they call for the "Mother of All Wars" and promise to fight until every man, woman, and child dies in the process. But once the bullets start flying, their armed forces turn and run.

Don't get me wrong, they're very talented when it comes to blowing up civilians or intimidating those unable to protect themselves, but match them up against a modern, Western force and they'll surrender as soon as they see the whites of our eyes.

When you say "Because they do not want to start it". Do you feel they do not want war, or that they simply don't want to be sen as the nation that started it?

iran would like to be seen as the victim, they know they will need the help of other muslim people to defeat America, So yes they want war, but do not want to be seen as the nation who started it.
P.S. As soon as they think they can win it will start.

If Iran wanted war why not fire a missile at one of our ships in the Gulf?

Because they want to provoke but not start. The Iranian government officials are cowards..

It all goes back to their belief of matyrdom. So sad!!

Excellent point, history supports this. Being tribal nations, they do not have strong allegiances to their governments, or even to each other.

I think this is partially correct. Let's look at what happened in Iraq. Much of the Iraqi army simply melted away, and US forces high-fived each other on the objective, declaring victory. Slowly but surely, a deadly insurgency made itself known, run by the thousands of senior Iraqi army officers who had melted away. These were battalion commanders, brigade commanders, division commanders, and even corps commanders who had served and trained all their adult lives for war. Only now, they're waging war whilst wearing civilian clothes and blending into the population. I believe the Iranians have observed this and learned from it. Were we to invade, we would face some Iranian forces, but most would shed their uniforms and continue to fight as part of a potent insurgency. Only now, these would be Persians fighting together against foreign invaders, unhindered by the ethnic and religious splits we see among the Iraqi insurgency. An insurgency there would make the Iraqi insurgency seem very tame by comparison. I believe that is what they hope to accomplish with a US invasion - our final demise in the Middle East as we bleed ourselves dry in yet another deadly insurgency.
LoisFaith2000
IF Iran was able to egg the U.S. into an attack on the nation and/or it's nuke facilities (as opposed to the insurgents we are already fighting in Iraq) they would desire this to take place while Bush is still in office. The world for the most part hates G.W.B., and Iran would therefore garner much sympathy and support in response to the attack. America would be seen as the warmongering aggressor, looking to increase its influence in the Middle East and take its oil. That mean, hateful, baby-killing Bush the world may say.

However, if the Clintobama administration were to launch an attack, Iran may not have as many shoulders to cry on. The world would love Clinton or Obama as U.S. Commander in Chief and may therefore be more sympathetic to our reasoning for attacking Iran. Hypothetically, world opinion may be more along the lines of "Well, Iran had it coming for sponsoring the insurgency in Iraq and for continuing its nuke program against the wishes of the U.N. Good on you U.S.A!"

It's doubtful that Obama or Clinton would attack Iran. I'm skeptical that George Bush will have the Cojones to do it. So, we may have to wait and see how events play out going forward. Keep in mind that Iran's military has to be intact enough to take part in the Gog-Magog invasion.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two thoughts:

1) What if the US just takes the back seat position and let Israel take the lead with Iran. Then if our troops are ever in danger and defend themselves, the US would not be the aggressor. Israel shouldn't care about reputation because the US is really their only true friend.

2) I agree that Iran may want something to happen prior to Bush leaving. Remember, they want a Jihad so their little guy who fell down a well can reappear. If Bush responds with action toward Iran, and Clinton or Obama get elected, they will pull back as soon as possible - leaving the fight too early - and allowing Iran to recover and get ready for another strike on Israel. This way the US and Bush are the bad guys for striking first and they got the start of their long awaited Jihad.

I don't know about that. As you said, we're fighting insurgents in Iraq, not ex-Iraq commanders. These people are for the most part filtering in to the country from all over the place (Syria and Iran mostly). Before we went into Iraq, there were already terrorist training "bases" in place filled with Muslim Jihadists of various ethnicities and nations. Now these people are waging war against the Iraqi civilians and hitting U.S. troops whenever an opportunity arises.

As for invading Iran, I don't think such a propsal is on the table. Last I heard we were planning militray strikes against nuke facilities. If there is an "occupation plan," I can only assume we'll use the blueprint from Iraq and change some things so as not to repeat the mistakes we've made.

And you seem to be under the impression there will be a unified Persian resistance. Considering how many Iranians are already looking for a radical change in their government, I highly doubt there will be a unified Iranian/Persian front waiting for us. If anything, the same Jihadists who are now entering Iraq (and losing there) will redirect their efforts into Iran and continue to bleed themselves dry in yet another losing effort.

Contrary to popular belief, the insurgents have limited resources as well. It takes money, brainwashing, and bodies (and more money) to continue their struggle against "the Great Satan." And they're not simply facing American soldiers. They also have to deal with the improvment in communication that is going on behind their Islamic Iron Curtain. With each passing day, more and more of their youth (not to mention their women) are being exposed to lifestyle of "free" nations. In fact, we have ~150,000 American witnesses testifying right now to the Iraqi people. I can't tell you how many stories I've heard firsthand and read about in which American soldiers are invited to dinner and to share in the daily lives of the Iraqi people.

Despite the continued pessimism reported in the mainstream media, there is without doubt a fundamental shift taking place on the ground over there. And perhaps Bush was right by not sending in an overwhelming force initially and declaring martial law. Of course, I don't think anyone had any idea that the insurgency would organize so quickly, but then again I don't think anyone realized just how much a threat Islamic terrorism had become prior to 9-11 and Operation Iraq Freedom. By entering that country and fighting this war, we've exposed the threat completely. And now that they're finally coming out from under their rocks, we can (and have been able to) take aggressive action.

I hope Bush Drops a bomb on their Nuke facility right before he leaves office, othewise prepare for an arms race in the middle East (and They'll use them)

I'm sure they will try to start something, claim a "Gulf of Tolken" incedent then when the Dems come into office, they get all Kissy face with them, we pull out and Bam! I'mArealNUTjob claims Victory! It is the perfect scenario for them.

Hey, we really don't need to worry about any of this, because when Obama is elected he'll make friends with the Iranians and we'll all sing about 'unity' around a big global campfire!

...
It's doubtful that Obama or Clinton would attack Iran. I'm skeptical that George Bush will have the Cojones to do it. So, we may have to wait and see how events play out going forward. Keep in mind that Iran's military has to be intact enough to take part in the Gog-Magog invasion.

Good point! Also, we have no available divisions, brigades to attack Iran. (So it is physically impossible for the US to launch a land attack on Iran). We could launch an air attack, which according to Mike Evans in Showdown with Nuclear Iran, could possibly put off Iranian use of nuclear weapons by as much as 10 years, but only regime change (which we cannot accomplish with air strikes), will eliminate their desire to use nuclear "devices" (Pres. Ahmadinejad's words). But I agree that it's probably not going to happen-mostly because we''re worried about what might happen in Pakistan if we attack Iran (we could trade jihadist nukes in the near future for jihadist nukes now).

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Navy says a ship encountered a small Iranian high-speed boat in the central Persian Gulf and warned it away by firing a flare.

Two other similar Iranian boats in the area did not come as close.

The USS Typhoon tried unsuccessfully to establish radio contact with the Iranian boat after it came within an estimated 200 yards of the Typhoon on Thursday, outside Iranian territorial waters. A Navy official says the ship then fired the flare and continued on its way without incident.

The official says there were no signs any boat was armed.

It was at least the second encounter with an aggressive Iranian high-speed boat this year. In January, Iranian boats made what the Navy called provocative moves near a U.S. ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

Virtually, the whole Middle East hates us with the exception of Israel of course. I am not a war monger, but we cannot take ANY chances with the enemy. This may have been perfectly innocent, but then again, it may not have been. It takes just one time for one of these guys to run a boat into one of our ships that is packed with explosives. What happened to our country?

I respectfully disagree. We do not have the will, especially with our military being spread so thing. It'll be more and more sanctions.

You're exactly right !! I guess the USS Cole didn't teach us anything.

One of these times, these boats are not going to stop at warning shots.

I turned on Fox expecting to hear something and they are talking about the polygamist cult.

There is something really fishy about that story too.

This world is really turning whacko.

Of course. That's inifinately MORE important than a possible war with Iran. Didn't you KNOW? There is a scripture...(any of you familiar with my posts know I can't quote) Something about "have you come to take spoil?" I know this has to do with the Gog/Maggog, but I read somewhere (a commentator) that this is the West's usual response...talk,talk,talk (diplomacy sort of thing) This is OUR mindset..."Come, let us reason together.." To reason, there must be at LEAST two REASONABLE PARTIES. The western mind cannot seem to comprehend that there are those who USE this admirable trait of the western mindset and twist it upon itself for their own evil desires. Everytime I see hearings, I say to myself...Hearings/Shmearings...I'm just old fashioned..,ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS. Today it's all about the words and our enemies KNOW it.

Agreed...these are no accidents on their part and everything ....absolutely everything...is being monitored and recorded and evaluated.

If they are half as competent as I suspect...by now they know exactly how far away they are before our radar picks them up, how long it takes to try and raise them on radio, how close they can get at what speed before we start firing warning shots....etc. Everything...including our responses I hope....is calculated to getting max. information & protection and giving as little as possible away.

I'm not real worried about them testing us in that way. Out crusers can take out those speed boats without breaking a sweat. Those CO's are always on high alert out there. They ain't getting close without taking a trip to the bottom of the ocean. We won't allow another Cole. We're on to their tricks.

'The Hal Lindsey Report'

'The Hal Lindsey Report'

On this week's edition of "The Hal Lindsey Report," I'll discuss the comment by an Israeli Cabinet minister that is reverberating across the Middle East. It's the first-ever for a major Israeli government figure, and it has Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Hezbollah experiencing a case of the war jitters.

Their nervousness isn't alleviated by the fact that this week Israel has been practicing to respond to a full-scale attack by its enemies. This is the first time that Israel has conducted a five-day, nationwide emergency defense preparedness drill. The exercise involves the Israeli Defense Forces (with a major call-up of reserves), police, firefighters, hazardous materials teams, medical personnel, and rescue organizations. The government is also preparing the population to respond to chemical, biological, and even nuclear attacks.

I'll also report on the Iran-Hamas axis that is growing stronger daily. Not only is Iran training and equipping fighters to oppose U.S. and Iraqi forces in Iraq, but they're teaching Hamas and Hezbollah fighters the finer points of missile and rocket technology. The militants go to Iran for training, then are smuggled back into Israel to utilize their newfound skills.

"Do you still beat your wife?" Remember that old trick question that always produces a conundrum? Even answering "No" implies "I used to beat her, but I've stopped now." You're doomed if you say "Yes." You're doomed if you say "No." Well, the overall leader of Hamas, Khaled Mesha'al, in Damascus, had a great idea. He is now offering a proposal to Israel that is the equivalent to, "Do you still beat your wife?" Will the Israelis fall for the ploy?

America is the most technologically advanced nation and military in history. But hi-tech doesn't always trump lo-tech. 6 years after 9/11 and 10 years after Osama bin-Laden's declaration of war on the United States, al-Qaeda is still a mystery to the Western intelligence community. Unfortunately, it's also a mystery to many members of Congress. And that's what makes the mystery dangerous.

There are rumors that the principle thorn-in-the-side of the Iraqi government, Moqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army, may be willing to stand down if ordered to do so by Iraq's Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. That would signify a major improvement on the ground in Iraq. He's played similar cards before, but the fact that he says he 'willing' to obey the Ayatollah is good news. But it also indicates the power that the Ayatollahs wield over the situation in Iraq.

No surprise here, unless you're a member of the European Union. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has rejected the E.U.'s offers of financial incentives and alternative energy assistance if he will abandon his nuclear power quest.

Finally, remember when Hezbollah blamed Israel for the assassination of Imad Mughniyeh? Then they included the U.S. in that accusation. Now they're thinking that maybe Syria did the deed. Of course, they'll still punish Israel because they know the Israelis would have done it if they could have.

PM: Hamas will lose ability to hit us
By GIL HOFFMAN

A day after three Israelis were killed by terrorists in the South, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert upgraded his threats against Hamas and vowed to take action that would incapacitate the Islamist organization.

Speaking at a pre-Pessah toast for Kadima activists at the party's Petah Tikva headquarters, Olmert said Hamas would be held accountable for every infiltration, shooting and rocket attack in the South, no matter which terrorist organization claimed responsibility.
It was "inevitable" that Hamas would pay the price for its terror attacks, he said.

"I promise you that the response to Hamas will be such that Hamas will no longer be able to continue to take action against the citizens of Israel," Olmert told the crowd. "I don't want to say more than that. But what I am saying will obligate Israel [to act], and I promise you that it will be properly implemented."

In a toast with Labor activists at his party's Tel Aviv headquarters, Defense Minister Ehud Barak also pledged to fight Hamas. "We will restore security to Sderot and the Gaza periphery," he said.

Olmert recounted an emotional meeting on Wednesday night with the father of St.-Sgt. Sayef Bisan at the family's home in the Druse village of Jatt, near Acre.

He praised the bravery of Bisan, who served in the Golani Brigade's Egoz reconnaissance unit and was killed in action in Gaza early that morning.

While the prime minister said he believed an agreement could be reached with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas this year, he said that due to the situation in the PA and Hamas's control of Gaza, no such deal could be implemented any time soon.
"I don't see any chance of implementing an agreement in the near future," Olmert said. "When we reach an understanding, we will insist on all their obligations in the road map being met, especially stopping terror, as a condition for implementing the agreement."

Ynet reported from Palestinian sources Thursday that Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and PA negotiator Ahmed Qurei were considering a proposal whereby the final-status negotiations on the issues of Jerusalem and refugees would be postponed for five years.

According to the report, the deal would be a temporary one, valid for five years, during which the PA would be granted some municipal sovereignty in the capital and would be allowed to provide certain services to the Palestinian residents of the city.
Olmert's and Livni's spokespeople declined to respond to the report, but Olmert defended himself when politicians on the Right blasted him on the Jerusalem issue.

"There is no important issue that we are not ready to discuss, Olmert said. "But we don't need lessons from anyone, especially not our adversaries in the opposition, on what the important matters are that we must safeguard. No one can teach me or the Kadima ministers about the importance and the symbolism of Jerusalem for the people of Israel."

Bar-Ilan University's Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies commissioned a poll about the negotiations over Jerusalem ahead of a symposium the center will host on Tuesday about the future of the capital.

Fifty-nine percent of Israelis believe that Jerusalem's fate is currently being negotiated, despite the government's denials, according to the survey - and 71% of Israelis are unwilling to give up control of the Old City and the Temple Mount, even for complete peace.
Shas chairman Eli Yishai will address the symposium and explain why he is staying in the coalition despite the reported negotiations on Jerusalem's fate - talks Shas has said would prompt its departure from the government.

The coalition received a boost Thursday night when Pensioners Party MK Elhanan Glazer showed up at the Kadima event and vowed to remain in the coalition.

He denied reports that he would split off from his faction with two other MKs and join billionaire Arkadi Gaydamak's new Social Justice Party.

Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik spoke at the event and praised Olmert for surviving despite premature political eulogies. Activists at the event noted that at last year's pre-Pessah toast, Olmert gave a speech about how unpopular he was.

A children's choir from Petah Tikva opened the colorful event with a medley of songs praising Israel and Olmert, including one unlikely choice: a hassidic song whose chorus is "moshiach, moshiach, moshiach" (messiah, messiah, messiah).

UN: Israel removed fewer roadblocks than promised
Israel has removed 44 roadblocks in the occupied West Bank, short of the number promised to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, a United Nations agency has found.
World body reports only 44 West Bank obstacles removed despite promise to Rice; most removed obstacles 'of little or no significance' to Palestinians in the area, UN agency says
Reuters

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said most of the roadblocks removed were of little or no significance.

Palestinians say Israel's network of hundreds of checkpoints and roadblocks amount to collective punishment, stifle their economy and undermine support for US-backed peace talks.

Israel says the barriers are needed to stop suicide bombers from reaching its cities.

OCHA, which charts the location of roadblocks in the West Bank, conducted its own field survey of the 61 obstacles that Israel said it removed earlier this month after Rice's visit.

OCHA found that 44 of the 61 obstacles had been removed, six remained and 11 could not be found, according to a preliminary report presented to Western donors, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the UN findings. The army announced last week the removal of 50 roadblocks plus one checkpoint, as promised to Rice. It subsequently said an additional 10 barriers were taken down, but the army would not disclose their locations publicly.

Of the 44 obstacles that OCHA confirmed as having been removed, five were classified by the UN Agency as "significant" for Palestinians in the area.

Stiff resistance
OCHA said nine of the 44 were of "minimal significance" to Palestinians, noting there was another roadblock nearby or that the obstacle blocked an unpopulated area used by the Israeli army.

OCHA said 17 of the 44 roadblocks were of "no significance", either because they obstructed a closed military zone, had already been removed, were located near a Jewish settlement or were in the middle of a field.

OCHA cited 13 "questionable circumstances". In those cases, the agency visited the sites where it received repeated reports that obstacles were added at the last minute and then removed.

A US general has been tasked with monitoring whether the roadblocks were removed as promised, but his findings have not been made public.

Rice said during her recent visit that she would push hard to ease West Bank restrictions to try to bolster Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, whose authority has been limited to the West Bank since Hamas Islamists seized the Gaza Strip in June.

But Israel's army and defense establishment have put up stiff resistance to making sweeping changes to the roadblock network, citing security concerns.

Seven Palestinians killed in Gaza fighting

Last Update: 12:24 pm

Palestinian relatives stand around five wounded boys lying on the floor of a hospital after an Israeli air strike at Al-Burij Refugee camp April 11, 2008, in Al-Burij, the Gaza Strip. (Abid Katib, Getty Images) GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Israeli forces have launched airstrikes and a ground raid against gunmen in Gaza today.

Witnesses and medics say seven Palestinians have been killed, including a 12-year-old boy.

That pushes the Palestinian death toll to 15 since Israel began strikes in retaliation for Wednesday's militant attack against a Gaza fuel depot. Two Israeli civilians were killed in the attack.

The Israeli army has confirmed troops are operating in Gaza and that its aircraft have struck.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has pledged to keep hitting Hamas to protect Israeli civilians.

Hamas has ruled Gaza since June, when it routed forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Abbas now heads a government based in the West Bank and is holding peace talks with Israel.

There's been no sign that the latest fighting will derail peace talks.

Netanyahu: 'We won't be able to deter nuclear Iran'
By JONATHAN BECK

JPost

"Iran will be the first nuclear state in history against which deterrence won't work, even if the deterrent is nuclear," Likud chairman Binyamin Netanyahu said Wednesday at an international conference titled "Russia, the Middle East and the Challenge of Radical Islam."

The conference was held at the Shalem Center in Jerusalem under the auspices of the center's Adelson Institute for Strategic Studies and the Eurasian Institute of the Inter-Disciplinary Center, Herzliya.

"Nothing will stop the Iranians - not the use of force and not a fear of being hit in retaliation," he said, adding that "every Israeli withdrawal from territories it controls leaves room for Iranian terror to enter."

Netanyahu added that "if in the past, Hizbullah was a state within the state of Lebanon, it seems today that the government of Lebanon is a state within a Hizbullah stronghold." "In the last 30 years, we have been living in a world where Sunni extremists succeed in attacking targets in the Western world, while on the other hand, Shi'ite Iran is rapidly advancing to the point of no return in its nuclear aspirations," the Likud leader said.

Regarding the conflict with the Palestinians, Netanyahu said there was "no chance that moderate factors in the Palestinian Authority will succeed in halting terror or replacing Israeli forces in securing the territory. Israel should ensure its safety on its own and provide Palestinians with the financial growth they aspire to, in order to create real peace partners."

Netanyahu finished his speech by stating that "unlike the common belief that peace will bring about financial improvement, history teaches us that the opposite is far truer."

Opening the session before Netanyahu, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Navarov, who heads the North America Bureau in the Russian Foreign Ministry, said, "Russia understands that the security of one state cannot be based on upsetting the security of others."

Responding to a question by one of the other members of the panel, Navarov said that "Russia will not make use of its nuclear capabilities, and there is an acute need to find other solutions to the problems the world is facing."

However, in a statement seemingly critical of Navarov's stance, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad, head of the Defense Ministry's Diplomatic-Security Bureau, said that "Russia holds a central role in establishing security in the Middle East, but is no less responsible for the lack thereof."

Dr. Peter Gladkov, a former Putin adviser and expert on Russian policy, criticized the policy of the United States under President George W. Bush, saying that "the US's attempt to gain influence in Eurasia in fact expresses a similar characteristic in American policy against Russia. Over time, such a policy can undermine the equilibrium in Eurasian countries because the developments the US is pushing are not always in line with the region's needs."

Gladkov's comments were echoed in part by Prof. Uzi Arad, director of the Institute for Policy and Strategy in the IDC, who said NATO was putting too much emphasis on expanding the alliance - a preoccupation that, he said, was pushing subjects such as the Iranian threat to a low priority at the expense of a struggle between the US and Russia over their international influence.

Maj.-Gen. Giora Eiland, meanwhile, accused the US of "not putting a stop to the Iranian threat because this is not one of its top priorities. If the US really wanted to stop Iran, it would not waste its time on... setting up missiles in Eastern Europe. This behavior makes Russia, too, avoid entering the Iranian issue, and the US is well aware of this reality."

According to former Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov, Russia was "not initiating negotiations with Iran, but ensures communication channels remain open considering the situation created by the EU and the UN. Russia will avoid talking to Iran if some other country picks up the gauntlet. It does not see itself as initiating disputes or negotiations, but as an arbiter between different groups."

However, Labor MK Ephraim Sneh, who served as deputy defense minister under Amir Peretz, called Russia "the Iranian Empire's No. 1 weapons supplier," saying it "in fact arms the forces most hostile to Israel today. This is totally against the role the new Russia should be filling in the regional and international arenas."

He added that "escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran and its proxies is inevitable. This confrontation is part of a wider confrontation between western democracy and Islamic fascism, and the Russian leadership will have to pick sides - the sooner the better."

Closing his address, Sneh directly attacked the Russian regime: "Iran's ballistic missiles have a range of 3,500 kilometers. Take a map and a ruler and see where they reach. Also, in all of its wars, Israel was forced to fight against Russian weaponry in the hands of its enemies. If the Russians want to profit from continuing these sales, they should insist next time on getting cash."

Livni Gives Away Northern Jerusalem

by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) Negotiations for Jerusalem continue apace, with a local Jerusalem paper reporting that Foreign Minister Livni has agreed to give away Atarot Airport. Shas says it's still not leaving the government.

The Kol HaZman (All the Time) paper reports that in ongoing secret talks with top Palestinian Authority negotiator Abu Ala, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has agreed, in the name of Israel, to transfer the Atarot airfield in northern Jerusalem to PA control. The paper states it source as "senior Foreign Ministry elements."

The Goal: Strengthen Fatah
Israel apparently recognizes Hamas control in Gaza as permanent, and therefore wishes to strengthen Fatah - perceived as more moderate - in Judea and Samaria.

Fatah terrorists, members of the organization's Al Aqsa Brigades, have carried out many murderous attacks against Israeli civilians in recent weeks, months and years. One of the most active terrorist forces in the area, it has been designated terrorist organization by the U.S., the European Union, Canada, and Japan.

Alternatively, it is not clear that the Hamas-takeover scenario will not repeat itself in Judea and Samaria, thus leaving the Atarot Airport in Hamas hands - if Israel in fact relinquishes it.

Mayor is Against

Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski is strongly against the loss of Atarot to the terrorists. His aides said he was "astonished" to hear of the secret agreement, and feels it will be a grave security failure and a significant concession on Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem.

"It is inconceivable," the mayor reportedly said, "that while Israeli flights from Atarot have been stopped because of security fears, the threat will now become even more severe, with control of the entire area being given over to the PA." He warned of the dangers of "hostile airplanes" in the skies of Jerusalem.

Lupoliansky promises he will work even harder to advance his plan to build 10,000 housing units for Jews in Atarot, hoping to thus thwart the plan to give it to the PA.

Jerusalem Municipality officials said the agreement to give away Atarot represents a de-facto recognition of the division of Jerusalem.

Olmert Takes no Responsibility

Staffers in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office said, "These are talks being handled by the Foreign Minister, and therefore answers must be received from her." Livni's press secretary said that the contents of the talks are not meant to be publicized.

Shas Doesn't Budge

Meanwhile, the Shas Party - whose departure from the government coalition would likely lead to the toppling of the government and new elections - continues to stay put. Relating to a new American initiative to give the PA partial control of Jerusalem for five years, Shas spokesman Ro'i Lachmanovitch told Arutz-7's Hebrew newsmagazine on Thursday that Shas was going nowhere: "We continue to stand behind the stance set by [the party's spiritual leader] Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef, which is that the moment Jerusalem is placed on the agenda of the diplomatic talks, Shas will quit the coalition."

A late-breaking development in another sphere may move Shas, however: The sudden decision by the Cabinet secretariat not to discuss the non-enforced chametz law in this Sunday's agenda. Shas had hoped for quick government action to legislate a change in the law that would enable its enforcement, in light of a recent court ruling allowing chametz to be sold in stores. Shas MKs are reportedly angered by the decision, and political analysts estimate that Shas may threaten to quit the coalition over it - though this has not yet happened.

Iran condemns Israel's threats
New York, April 11, IRNA
Iran-Israel-Khazaei
Iran condemns recent remarks by an Israeli minister, threatening to destroy the nation if Tehran launches an attack on the regime.

"The Israel regime continues making impudent threats against Iran.

As another sign of terrorist nature of the regime, Israel's national infrastructure minister (Benjamin Ben-Eliezer), in his April 7 remarks which blatantly violated international law and the UN Charter, threatened the Iranian nation with destruction," Iran's UN envoy, Mohammad Khazaei said in a letter to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council.

Certainly, these "shameless remarks", which follow earlier claims by other Israeli officials, constitute serious breach of the rules enshrined in the United Nations' Charter, prohibiting use of force by a country against another nation, Khazaei added.

The Iranian envoy further called on the Security Council to react to the Israeli remarks and force the Zionist regime to avoid threatening a UN member state in the future.

Khazaei warned the international body's inactiveness would "embolden the regime to continue its dangerous policies and remarks." "An Iranian attack against Israel would trigger a tough reaction that would lead to the destruction of the Iranian nation," Ben-Eliezer, a member of Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert's security cabinet, said on April 7.

Iran Urges UN To Demand Israel Stop Threatening Military Force

UNITED NATIONS (AP)--Iran has again urged the U.N. Security Council to condemn Israel and demand it immediately stop threatening to use military force against it, according to a letter obtained Friday. In the letter to the Security Council, Iran's U.N. Ambassador Mohammad Khazee referred to comments made by Israel's Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben- Eliezer, a former defense minister on April 7 where he warned Iran that any attack on the Jewish state would result in the "destruction of the Iranian nation."

Israel's U.N. Mission said it would have no comment on Khazee's letter.

The Iranian ambassador told the Security Council that Israel "has continued with its insolent, outrageous and unprovoked threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran...in yet another manifestation of the terrorist, aggressive and criminal nature of the Israeli regime" and in violation of the U.N. Charter.
"The inaction of the Security Council in this regard, has emboldened the said regime to pursue this dangerous course," Khazee said.

"Therefore, the Security Council should react to these vicious statements by unambiguously condemning them and calling on the said regime to cease and desist immediately from the threat of using force against members of the United Nations," he said.

Khazee sent a similar letter to the council in late February demanding that Israel stop threatening military again against Iran's nuclear program. That letter referred to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's warning on Jan. 14 that all options are on the table when it comes to keeping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Iran insists its nuclear program is purely for civilian purposes and has refused to stop uranium enrichment, which has led to three rounds of U.N. sanctions. The U.S., Israel and key European nations suspect the real aim of Iran's enrichment program isn't to produce nuclear energy but to produce nuclear weapons.

Israel will never find salvation: Ahmadinejad

Friday, April 11, 2008 - ?2005 IranMania.com

LONDON, April 11 (IranMania) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calls for action against Israel, saying a country's resolve to end crises shows its willingness to establish 'democracy', PressTV reported.

In a Thursday meeting with Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade in Iran's Mashhad province, Ahmadinejad said Israel and its allies continue to commit atrocities but will never have the control they want.

"The Zionist regime and its allies resort to any possible tactic in the hope of finding salvation but all to no avail," he said, suggesting that Israel cannot continue its occupation of Palestine forever.

"The only solution to the Palestinian crisis is to allow the Palestinian nation decide their fate for themselves," Ahmadinejad maintained.

Calling the humanitarian crisis in the occupied territory 'the greatest and most complicated problem' in the world today, Ahmadinejad said true democracy seekers are those who 'strive to resolve such crises'.

"The Palestinian issue is the ultimate test which measures the resolve of nations and governments in promoting democracy, freedom and human rights."

Wade was in Tehran to discuss the various issues that can benefit the Muslim world, following his recent appointment as the chairman of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

The Silent Famine
by Michael G. Mickey
(4-9-08)

Mark 13:8: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Did you know there is a silent famine crossing our globe today - a harbinger of things to come in the prophesied Tribulation Period that is, potentially, on the brink of beginning?

Consider the following excerpt from the WorldNetDaily article linked above:

Global food prices, based on United Nations records, rose 35 percent in the last year, escalating a trend that began in 2002. Since then, prices have risen 65 percent.

Last year, according to the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization's world food index, dairy prices rose nearly 80 percent and grain 42 percent.
This is anything but a sign of better days coming for unrepentant mankind yet few are even aware this is going on. Thus, the reason it is being called a silent famine.

I have, in the past, addressed how we, as in humankind, are largely oblivious to what's going on around us these days. We're too busy watching 200 channels of cable television, playing video games, racing here and there trying to get this and that done, talking on our cell phones, text messaging, etc. and so forth to watch the news. Sadly, even when we take time to flip on the evening news, it is just as likely we will hear what Paris Hilton is up to or information on the latest sex scandal as we are to hear what we actually need to hear. Then we add to the mess ourselves by not seeking out the information we need to be able to effectively feel the pulse of just how dire the situation in our world is becoming on a wide variety of fronts.

The warning signs of global famine being a possibility in the not-too-distant future should be a top news story but it isn't! And I wonder: Is anyone other than me amazed by how little concern the American public is showing concerning the high cost of gasoline these days, in the midst of a presidential election year no less? It's as though our entire society is asleep at the wheel. Hosea 4:6 quotes the Lord as saying, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." While I'm taking what He said out of context here to make a point, how true His words are of our world today!

According to the Telegraph, "the World Bank said this week that the price of staple foods has risen by 80 per cent in the past three years." 80%, people! And why is that? Partially because of "bad weather", rising demand and maybe, just maybe, those walloping gasoline prices no one seems very interested to be putting the heat on government leaders to address.

Notice how bad things are becoming, as detailed in the Telegraph article:
For consumers in wealthy nations such as Britain soaring prices are squeezing household finances and keeping inflation up. But for developing nations they can lead to malnutrition and social disruption.
When people begin starving to death, consequences are going to come. Social disruption will come first and, ultimately, bloodshed.

The outlook for the future? Quite frankly, it can't get any better as the global population is continuing to rise - and astronomically at that. Each and every day we have more people on the planet to feed and less and less land to grow crops on! More and more potential farmland and forest is being swallowed up annually for residential housing, commercial development and the like with no let-up in sight.

As we look at Bible prophecy alongside current events, it isn't hard to see the scenario foretold in Bible prophecy concerning global famine besetting mankind in the future is well in the works right now, although it will not reach its height until mankind is inside the Tribulation Period itself. Yet another Telegraph article shows us how famine is already become a problem for all the world's nations. Consider the following:
The run on rice is threatening to disrupt world food supplies as much as banks' lack of confidence in each other has seen global credit markets dry up.

China, Egypt, Vietnam and India, representing more than a third of global rice exports, curbed sales this year, and Indonesia says it may do the same.

The price of rice, the staple food for half the world, rose 2pc to a record $20.910 per 100lbs in Chicago, double the price a year ago and a fivefold increase from 2001.
Already, nations that possess food and typically have been willing to share their harvests with the world via exporting their crops are now having to lessen their exports to be able to feed their own. The ripple effect from that impacts food prices and demand around the globe and you can bet that, depending on how hungry nations around the globe eventually become, the stronger nations, militarily-speaking, will eventually do what they have to lest their people starve in the streets.

Just how bad could it really get?

Revelation 6:5-6: And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

The passage above foresees a food shortage of unprecedented proportions coming to pass in the prophetic future - one that will be so far-reaching it will essentially cost a worker a day's wages to buy the ingredients for a loaf of bread! This is descriptive, in my opinion, of a global scarcity of food that has never been witnessed before.

Right now, at this very hour, the stage is being set for the fulfillment of all the Bible's yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecies to follow the path that those which have already been fulfilled did in times past.

While we are today hearing of a silent famine, a time is coming when global famine is going to be near the forefront of all mankind's collective consciousness! Fortunately for believers in Christ, I don't believe that is going to occur until the Rapture of the Church takes place and what is presently "the beginnings of sorrows" becomes far, far more!

If there is someone you love or care about who doesn't know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, feel free to share this or any of RaptureAlert.com's archived content with them.

While it's easy for someone to look at one issue or trend taking place in the world around us, compare it to Bible prophecy and dismiss it as coincidence, there are mountains of evidence contained on this site pointing toward the accuracy of Bible prophecy with much of what is documented here demonstrating that we're at the very brink of much of what is yet to come being literally fulfilled on multiple fronts - to the extent that I find it hard to believe that anyone could read through what has been documented here and conclude anything other than the Bible must be: true, the Word of God and irrefutable evidence that Jesus Christ is coming soon!

If you're reading this and you have never acceped Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation! Tomorrow may be too late.

If the Rapture of the Church should come today, do you know what your tomorrows would look like? Think about it.

4-10-08 UPDATE:

EUBusiness.com reports the following, in part:

Inflation in Europe, far from being throttled as suggested in some quarters only 18 months ago, is alive and kicking hard at the middle classes as well as ordinary workers.

Price rises, and consequent constraints on living standards, are pushing trades unions into confrontation with management in many countries.

A wave of strikes has swept across Europe, from the "new Europe" of Slovenia and Romania to the "old Europe" of France, Italy and Germany in recent months.

Consumers are being squeezed between rising gas, electricity and mortgage bills, and rocketing food prices in staples such as bread, eggs and dairy goods.
AND...
Other commodity prices have since risen sharply, and most remarkably the price of foodstuffs.

"The cost of food has gone up so much, even those who can afford it have begun to notice," said one mother in Milan during a so-called "pasta strike", or Italian consumer boycott at the end of last year.
Keep looking up!
Justice
