A military band played rousing anthems as Ahmadinejad shook countless hands on his way into the building. Amid the stern-looking security men who surrounded the entourage, there was a notable omission: U.S. troops, who usually form the bulk of protection forces for high-profile guests in Iraq.

This time, the U.S. military made clear it would not be involved in protecting the Iranian president, who denies White House claims that his country has provided lethal bombs as well as training and financing to Shiite militias in Iraq.

Iraq's government has also accused Iran of fomenting violence here and has indicated that the topic will be up for discussion during Ahmadinejad's two-day visit.

Ahmadinejad: Symbolic visit focuses on ties with Iraq, challenge to US

If you could have a 1:1 with the Iranian President
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

QUOTE
Well what would you say.
Personally I have have had enough of this guy and other Iranian leaders constantly calling for the destruction of Israel.
I would tell him that the Lord God has made an everlasting covenant with Israel. Does he not know that he is provoking and taunting the God Of Israel.
Imagine a small child constantly prodding and tormenting a dog with a stick. You could have the most docile and good tempered dog in the world but it wont put up with this for ever, or imagine someone telephoning your house every day saying your children will soon be taken and killed, this is what Iran's constant taunting is like to God.
If Iran persists it will reap the death and destruction it envisages on Israel.
I would love this message to somehow reach the ears of the powerful in Iran. CUT IT OUT NOW

I would hope that if I ever had the opportunity to talk to the Iranian President face to face and one on one, that I would share the gospel with him. I would hope that, even if I knew it would cost me my life, I woud share the Truth with him.

I think I would like to say, Jesus loves even you. Won't you turn to Him and accept His sacrifice and stop this madness? Stop persecuting His people? Learn to live in peace.

I would show him his sin through the law, show him that is an enemy of God and that nothing he can do will ever amount to anything before a Holy and just God. Then I would give him the gospel of Christ to show him what was done, what extreme measure it took in order for him and God to be reconciled.
I would bring him to the foot of the cross.

I would confront him and announce that there is only ONE GOD and he is the God of Abraham. There is only ONE MESSIAH and his name is JESUS and He will return for his bride.

Ecuador pulls diplomat from Bogota

Are they really going to war with Colombia ?!

Wow, this is all the world needs at this stage !!!

Here is a thought of how it may go down

Venezuela - Since the collaspe of his major socialist reform movement, Hugo Chavez embarks upon a 'new revolution' movement. With the aid of Iranian QUD's special forces, Venezuelan forces cross into Columbia with an alliance with FARC.
Bogata awakens to thunderous explosions as the police stations and military barracks are blown up by sappers. Radio and TV stations are seized by FARC militia, the Presidental Palace and Congress buildings are seized. Columbian military generals are shot or captured at their homes in a mass coordinated assualt.
By noon, messages are being aired that the New Revolutionary Government of Columbia has freed Columbia from the American puppet government. Hugo Chavez flies to Columbia to announce the beginning of the new Socialist States of South America(Estados socialistas de Suramérica- ESSA). Ecuador joins publicly by annoucement an hour later.
Within days, dozens of Columbian politicans, police and military officers, judges are shot by firing squads of FARC. Iran/Sryria establshes a military base at Turbo, Columbia.

Venezuela, Columbia, Bolivia, and Ecuador. Nicaraguan and Mexican leftist governments share power in a new government over all of Central America with the assistance of the PRC (Peoples Republic of China) who now controls the whole of Panama under a new land-lease contract. And as we Know China being allied with Iran/Syria as is Russia for the oil fields supports the scenerio

On a second front Cuba allows bases for all Chavez Allies further creating a multifront attack force for the coasts of Florida taking 1 Million + hostages in major cities and using them as human shields

Yes, all the world is a stage at this point; a theatre. What is happening would be better understood if you could somehow flatten the world and look at it that way.

On one side of the world, you have active combat, i.e. Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, etc.
The other side is not completely unactive, but it is in no way as active. And I think the reason for that could be explained by comparison of what I feel is the activity of man during crisis.

During the time of peace in any nation, preparations are always made for instability. Just look at the wars in the US, for instance. Now, in the US, there is a war of words and the words have the power. Knowledge has power. Love has power. But, as I say, the US is prepared, more militarily than economically because of the most recent wars.

In peacetime we have built up our strength, just as China has built up its economic power by industry.

And in light of that, the reason that there is so much war in the region of the past is because they have more experience with war and, therefore, they have more episodes of peace. And because of that, the preparations made for any kind of instability have been made.

Disease and virus are rampant over in the countries of the Orient, that seems to be where the first major outbreak of disease and virus came from. And a mental parasite formed in the minds of people like Hitler and his hinchmen and eliminating the flesh body of these people just allows the viruses and parasites to go elsewhere and find another host. And the viruses and bacteria did not have to go far. They just jumped from dead body to dead body until the dead body dissolved and then it jumped to cows and sheep and chickens and those are about gone and it right back to humans again.

There is nothing that anybody can do to escape death, the more you run from it, the faster it gets, until it overtakes you.

It is really in the struggle against death that makes life what it is. But in the end, life wins.

Hamas State on the blood of ours and their children and our recent Turkey trip
Posted: Monday, March 03, 2008
- written by jerry golden

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While we were in Turkey this past week making arrangements for future events and looking for the Gullet, all hell broke loose here in Israel with the IDF making a limited ground operation into Gaza. We keep hearing that the war has begun, well what do they call 7 years of bombardment of Islamic Palestinian rockets on our Jewish civilians? Think about that, what other country would sit still because the President of the US ask them to and allow their civilian populations to be killed and wounded for 7 years. This same act of stupid obedience to the US President started in 1991 when 39 Iraqi missiles showered down on Tel-Aviv and Israel was told not to respond by President Bush. As I am sure you have heard that every time Bush or Rice comes to this area and sides with the Moslems in this insane war against their only friend and democracy in the Middle East terrible things happen in the USA we now can only wait and observe.

Once again we hear Bush is sending Rice here in order to stop this “terrible” Israeli invasion of Gaza and to create another cease fire that the Moslems call a Hudna (meaning a time-out to regroup and rebuild forces). Not once in that 7 years has the so-called “Palestinians” been condemned by the UN or charged with war crimes for targeting civilian populations. But every time we (Israel) go after these Islamic Terrorists in self defense we are told we are doing a terrible wrong and should not defend ourselves, or that we are using disproportionate force. Well maybe they have something there possibly we should send a missile into there populations every time they send us one, that would be around 40 to 100 per day. It certainly wouldn’t take many days for them to come to the conclusion that this is a very bad deal for them.

In the so-called West Bank (Judea and Samaria) the “Palestinians” are also protesting. Near our home we found that it is now dangerous for us to drive from our Moshave to Jerusalem for fear of being stoned or much worse as we have to drive through the so-called “Palestinian” territory.

What is sad is that Hamas doesn’t care how many Arabs get killed in Gaza in fact they want the IDF to kill a large number in order to force the world to further condemn Israel. We are talking about Islamic insanity here and human life means little to nothing to these bloodthirsty murderers, they wrap bombs around their children to kill you. They only care about their Jihad and if you think this Jihad in Israel is somehow separated from the other Islamic wars raging around the globe think again, they are all tied together for this is a Global Jihad and you are on their list.

As for what is going to happen here in Israel concerning Hamas, sooner or later (hopefully sooner) the IDF will have to go back into Gaza in full force and destroy Hamas, Israel will have to get very strong with Egypt (Against Bush’s will) and tell them they must stop the shipments of arms into Gaza across the Egyptian border. But in the mean time we are watching Hezbollah prepare for another round in the northern part of the county and this time they have longer range missiles that can reach much further into Israel thanks to Russia and Iran, and Syria seems to preparing to join in the next round as well. The bottom line is Israel will have to make some very hard decisions and soon or if they wait to long it could be too late. I don’t say any of this lightly as our son has been called back into service again, that always puts a knot in the pit of my stomach that takes much prayer. We also know that God has a call on Joel’s life and that he is needed in this ministry as a captain and one with much knowledge and contacts in this region. We know that Israel will be standing and Jews will be flowing into this land for end time prophecy. We know that we will be gathering many and doing all we can to save as many as we possibly can. We know that God is with us and that His Spirit not only goes with us but even before us.

Our trip last week to Turkey was very successful; we traveled through many hundreds of kilometers through the rough terrain and mountains of Turkey met some very important people and the presence of the Ruach Ha Kodesh was obvious with us as we moved from place to place.

We found a boat that we believe God wants us to purchase so we put down a deposit in faith believing those God touches will supply the needed balance. We feel there is precious little time before we will be in that part of the ministry in operations that will be unseen or unknown by many as the possibility of communications will most likely be cut.

The boat will be surveyed (checked over by a professional) it is now on the Dry dock and necessary repairs are being done and the anti-fouling paint on the bottom. In about two weeks we will return to inspect the boat and make the final decision. We ask for your prayers and support for both in abundance are needed.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel and all the IDF soldiers. Pray for this Ministry and your part in it. Shalom, jerry

I call upon the United States and Europe to honor your signature under the treaty that called Israel into existence in 1948.
If you can not comply with this, not only are you placing yourself in the position of Germany 1940,
but further and most damaging: you will be unreliable trade partners for CENTURIES TO COME.

Far from now people will point at the West and say: "Look at their big mouth, in the end they were hollow."
Is that what you want?

Instead I hope that I hear people say: "They pursued peace always, but when it got to the thick, they defended their little brother."

I would choose the latter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <=======================

Oil Jumps to New Record on Dollar's Fall
Monday March 3, 1:01 pm ET
By John Wilen, AP Business Writer
Oil Jumps to a New Record Above $103 As the Dollar Declines to a New Low Against the Euro

NEW YORK (AP) -- The surging price of oil reached another milestone Monday, jumping to an inflation adjusted record high of $103.95.
The weaker dollar that has propelled oil and other commodities prices higher sent light, sweet crude for April delivery past $103.76 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That's the level many analysts consider to be the true record high for oil, after its $38 barrel price from 1980 is translated into 2008 dollars.

The price later traded up $1.81 at $103.65, fluctuating with the normal ebb and flow of trading.

Oil's most recent run into record territory has been driven by the greenback's slump against other world currencies. Crude futures offer a hedge against a falling dollar, and oil futures bought and sold in dollars are more attractive to foreign investors when the dollar is falling.

Gold, copper and wheat are among the other commodities that have rallied in recent weeks as the dollar has fallen.

"It's coming down to another commodity price rally," said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Alaron Trading Corp., in Chicago.

The dollar has been weighed down by concerns about the U.S. economy and the Federal Reserve's interest rate-cutting campaign. Lower interest rates tend to weaken the dollar, which fell Monday to a new low of $1.5275 against the euro.

The struggling dollar has prompted a wave of speculative buying by oil investors seeking a safe haven from the ongoing volatility of the stock market. Such speculation can become self-perpetuating, driving prices higher and attracting even more speculators.

Many analysts believe oil prices aren't justified by crude's underlying supply and demand fundamentals. While supply disruptions in Nigeria and the prospect of a supply cutoffs from Iraq and Venezuela helped boost oil prices last year, domestic oil inventories are now rising even as a number of forecasters are cutting their demand growth predictions due to the slowing economy.

Prices were also supported Monday by tensions between Venezuela and Colombia over Colombia's killing of a top rebel leader in Ecuador; reports that Ukraine's president threatened a "gas war" with Moscow after Russia cut gas supplies over a financial dispute; and reports of a U.S. airstrike on a Somali town held by Islamic extremists.

Investors are keeping an eye on OPEC, which meets Wednesday to consider production levels. Most expect the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to hold output steady.

"Unless there's a surprise ... I think it's a non-factor at this time," said Linda Rafield, senior oil analyst at Platts, the energy research arm of McGraw-Hill Cos., of OPEC's impact on trading Monday.

As for where oil goes from here, analyst estimates vary widely, with some predicting an eventual decline to the $65 or $70 range as supplies continue to grow and demand falls, and others seeing oil rising as high as $120 as investment capital continues to flow into oil markets from overseas.

For its part, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration's latest prediction is that oil will average $86 a barrel in 2008, up 19 percent from 2007, when oil averaged $72 a barrel.

Surging oil prices are boosting prices at the pump. The average price of a gallon of gas stood at $3.165 Monday, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That's down 0.1 cent overnight, but up nearly 70 cents from a year ago. The Energy Department expects gas prices to peak near $3.40 this spring, well above May's record of $3.227, but some analysts predict prices could rise to nearly $4 a gallon.

Diesel prices, used to transport the vast majority of the nation's goods, are also surging. Diesel prices hit another new record of $3.674 a gallon Monday.

Other energy futures also rallied Monday. In other Nymex trading, April heating oil futures jumped 6.1 cents to $2.8679 a gallon, and April gasoline futures rose 5.22 cents to $2.7221 a gallon. April natural gas futures gained 20.6 cents to $9.572 per 1,000 cubic feet.

In London, Brent crude futures rose $1.75 to $101.85 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.

Chavez Warns of War With Colombia
By IAN JAMES – 1 hour ago

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela and Ecuador ordered troops to their borders with Colombia, sharply raising tensions after Colombia killed a top rebel leader on Ecuadorean soil.

President Hugo Chavez on Sunday promised Venezuela would respond militarily if Colombia violates its border, where he ordered tanks as well as thousands of troops. He also ordered closed Venezuela's embassy in Bogota.

Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa said he deployed troops to the border while also withdrawing his government's ambassador from Bogota and expelling Colombia's top diplomat.

Ecuador Follows Chavez in Deploying Troops to Colombia Border

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chavez ordered tanks and thousands of troops on Sunday to the border with Colombia, accusing it of pushing South America to the brink of war by killing a top rebel leader on Ecuadorean soil.

Denouncing Colombia's slaying of the rebel commander in a cross-border raid into Ecuador, Chavez said Venezuela will respond militarily if Colombia violates its border. He ordered Venezuela's embassy in Bogota closed.

Ecuador's president, Rafael Correa, also ordered troops to the Colombian border, withdrew his government's ambassador from Bogota and ordered Colombia's top diplomat expelled.

In a statement, Colombia said FARC "terrorists" including Reyes "have had the custom of killing in Colombia and taking refuge in the territory of neighboring countries."

Colombia's police commander Gen. Oscar Naranjo said documents from a computer seized where Reyes was killed suggested Ecuador's president is deepening relations with the FARC.

What I was saying is that Israel has God on it's side. God is all powerful.

Iranian rockets slam Israel

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JAFFA – Long-range rockets fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli cities the past few days were manufactured in and imported from Iran, according to Israeli security officials speaking to WND.

In a major escalation, Hamas the past few days has been firing long range Grad rockets at the strategic Israeli port city of Ashkelon, home to some 125,000 Israelis about 11 miles from Gaza. Ashkelon houses a major electrical plant that powers most of the Gaza Strip.

Grad rockets are longer-range projectiles similar to the Katyusha rocket, which the Lebanese Hezbollah terror group successfully used in 2006 to barrage northern Israel, killing 42 Israeli civilians and reportedly wounding over 4,000. The Grad travels up to 12 miles and delivers a larger payload than the Qassam rocket, which can travel about four to five miles and is the usual rocket of choice for Palestinians.

At least three Grad rockets landed in Ashkelon today, wounding a woman who had used her body to protect her two children. A least a dozen Grads slammed into Ashkelon since Friday, causing injuries to civilians and massive damage to houses and buildings.

Long-range rockets fired from Gaza are Iranian: Israel army

Israeli Troops Withdraw From Gaza

The Israeli army on Monday said that all the long-range rockets fired by Gaza militants against southern Israel during the latest round of violence were manufactured in arch-foe Iran.
Speaking to the parliament's powerful foreign affairs and defence committee, a senior military intelligence official said that over 20 Katyusha-type rockets, also known as Grad, were fired against Israel since last Thursday.

"We are talking about regular Iranian-made rockets," an official quoted the intelligence official as saying.

Be watchful but do not worry!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have read many a post were many of you are worried about the events taking place and how that may affect your plans for the future and living a rewarding Christ filled life with confidence. The Scripture from Matthew below I believe really helps to encourage us to trust in our Faith in Jesus Christ no matter how bad thing get.

Quote:
Matthew 6:24-34 (New King James Version)
24“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 25“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

"Obama's Support Steeped in Messianic Terminology"

Dawn Street (4 Mar 2008) 5 doves site

This is just more evidence that the world is ready to embrace a political "messiah", setting the stage for the antichrist and his one world religion and one world government, a mixture of faith and politics. This is really getting strange.

Obama's Support Steeped in Messianic Terminology
By Evan Moore
CNSNews.com Correspondent
February 29, 2008
(CNSNews.com) - A cursory look at coverage of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign run shows that many reporters and observers describe his persona and rallies as near-Messianic or Christ-like. This phenomenon has prompted some analysts to describe the campaign as cult-ish and fueled by emotion.

On Feb. 23, The Dallas Morning News reported that Obama's campaign events often take on "a religious fervor." On Feb. 24, The New York Times reported that a band played "Obama-lujah" at a "rapturous" rally. And on Feb. 26, The Dallas Morning News again ran a story, quoting Rev. Jesse Jackson on Obama: "He's running a theological campaign. At some point, he took off his arms and grew wings."

The Obama campaign "is not a political movement - it's a rock tour," said conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh on Feb. 20.

"It's a rock concert tour. And if you don't show up at the concert when it happens in your town, you're not hip. It's a cult. It's a religious movement ... These people, I'm telling you, that are gravitating to Obama ... are people desperately seeking meaning in their lives because they don't have any," he said.

"We all want to matter," said Limbaugh. "We all want to have meaning in our lives. We all want to be relevant to something, and a lot of these people don't feel that about themselves. They feel empty, and they're trying to fill the emptiness, fill the void. And Obama does."

However, Michael Pfau, chairman of the University of Oklahoma Department of Communication, told Cybercast News Service that he thought it was "inappropriate to use, or think in terms of, messianic terminology to describe [Obama]."

Obama "is an outstanding orator, along with John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, one of the best in the post-World War II era," Pfau said, adding that "great oratory is relevant. It inspires."

Jonathan Stein, who blogs for the leftist publication Mother Jones, echoed Limbaugh, saying: "Obama's rhetoric makes an undeniable suggestion: that his election, not an eight-year administration that successfully implements his vision for America, would represent a moment in America of the grandest, most transformative kind. And that's a bit much."

Online collations

The left-leaning political Web site, Slate.com, launched a periodic "Obama Messiah Watch" column under the aegis of senior writer Timothy Noah last year.

However, one blog - which asks, "Is Barack Obama the Messiah?" - has compiled a comprehensive listing of the use of such terms in the media over the past two years.

For instance, Minister Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam - who has called Judaism a "gutter religion" and said Jews are "bloodsuckers" and "wicked deceivers," according to The New York Times - recently said that Obama was "the hope of the entire world" and was transforming his audiences by the effect of his speeches.

Also featured on the blog were remarks by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) that Obama's candidacy "is not a campaign for president of the United States" but instead "a movement to change the world."

Geoff Elliot, Washington correspondent for The Australian , also remarked: "The atmosphere at his events is such that one wonders if Obama is about to walk out with a basket with some loaves and fishes to feed the thousands."

One eyewitness account came from a native of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, who attended the Feb. 10, 2008 Obama rally at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

In her blog on HamptonRoads.com, the eyewitness said, "Those faces. It was raw, naked, complete worship; love; heart-whole, passionate, stunned and almost unbelieving but desperately wanting to believe him - adoration."

Cult criticism

In an interview with Cybercast News Service, Christopher Blosser, who runs the Obama Messiah blog from his home in New York, admitted that his site was a parody, designed to "provoke some of Obama's more ardent disciples among the masses - and the media - to re-evaluate their actions and speech."

"The kind of language being used to describe this man is simply ridiculous," said Blosser.

"The idea for the blog was born after encountering this kind of rhetoric in several online interactions with Obama supporters and subsequently after hearing family and friends - even some more ideologically liberal than myself - express their uneasiness and/or outright disgust with what they were witnessing," Blosser said.

Obama's fervent following is what Blosser calls "a very curious - and yet, troubling - phenomenon. On one hand, every political race has some degree of enthusiasm (to be expected) - but what I've read and chronicled regarding the Obama campaign is something else entirely.

"The left has typically decried the mixing of faith and politics among the right," he said, "and yet they have wholeheartedly embraced Obama with religious fervor, forming what seems to be, in some cases, a 'cult of personality' - embracing him as a secular messiah of sorts."

Urgent Prayer Request for Israel

Increased Military Action in Gaza
by Asher Intrater
(En Español)

Almost three years ago, Israel pulled out all of its citizens (9,000) who were living in homes in settlements in Gaza, as well as all of its military units. Shortly after that the Hamas movement took over the government of Gaza. Since that time, to the disappointment of Israel, the Hamas government has continued terrorist actions and Jihadist propaganda against Israel.

Last Wednesday, 27 of February, Hamas began increasing missile attacks on Israel. In the five days from Wednesday to Sunday, until the time of this writing, 183 missiles were shot from Gaza into Israel, including 20 Grad missiles, several of which even reached the city of Ashkelon (population: 120,000).

Israel was faced with a dilemma. We could not just let the attacks continue. No country in the world would allow another country to fire missiles into its population centers. Yet to reoccupy all of Gaza would lead to a much larger number of casualties and to a nearly impossible situation to control afterward. The government decided on a firm, but moderate operation into Gaza to deter the rocket attacks.

In the middle of the night between Friday and Saturday, the Givati division of the IDF entered Gaza, primarily to the area of Gibaleah, opposite the Israeli town of Sederot, which received most of the rocket attacks. The Israeli attacks were aimed at destroying the following targets: 1.) Hamas headquarters and leaders, 2.) weapons warehouses, 3.) missile firing sites, 4.) trucks carrying weapons, 5.) Hamas active military units.

One of the difficulties in the fighting is that Hamas purposefully fires its missiles toward Israeli population centers, and locates its own weapons units in the midst of their own Palestinian population. Hamas propaganda blames Israel for atrocities and at the same time, calls for its own civilians to assembly and stand in as "human shields" in areas that are likely to be military targets.

In one instance, Israel blew up a truck with 160 missiles in it, located in a populated neighborhood of Gibaleah. In the recent fighting, hundreds have been injured on both sides, thousands struck with "shock" from the bombings. Militarily, of course, the Palestinians have suffered much greater losses; 3 Israelis have been killed and approximately 100 Palestinians. Gazan civilian conditions are tragic.

Israel's military goals are to use force to stop the terror and the bombings, yet to do all that is reasonably possible not to injure innocent civilians.

In our congregation on Shabbat, we dedicated a good period of time to interceding for the situation. Prayers ranged from military victory for Israel to mercy for the Palestinians. Interestingly, some of the prayers offered for mercy for the Palestinians came from young Israelis with first hand battle experience; while some of the prayers for decisive Israeli victory over the terrorism came from Israelis with much experience in helping and supporting Palestinians.

The warfare here ranges from military issues to spiritual ones, and can be quite complicated. Here are a few discernments to help us sort out the issues:

1. Arabs (Palestinians) - are a people group that God loves like all people; and we love them as well. We pray for their salvation, support humanitarian and evangelistic efforts, and demonstrate reconciliation with Palestinian Christians.

2. Islam - is a religion based on the teaching of Muhammed and his followers. We believe that to be false teaching. Islam as a religion must be dealt with by correct biblical teaching and education.

3. Jihad - is an attitude within Islam that calls for destruction of western civilization and of Israel in order to achieve its goals of Islamic takeover. It comes from a demonic spirit, in my opinion, that is connected to what the book of Revelation refers to as the "beast".

4. Terror - is a method of killing innocent victims to create an atmosphere of fear in order to influence people toward political or religious goals. Terror was at first a kind of criminal activity, but has increased over the years to a full military offensive. Terrorism must be fought with strong and decisive police and military action.

5. Hamas - is an extremist Islamic organization, that has now become the head of the government of Gaza. Their election, putting them in the place of representing the people of Gaza, has made the situation more difficult. Since their coming into power, they have encouraged not only hatred to Israel but persecution of the small evangelical Christian community that was left in Gaza.

There are many Messianic Jews in the Israeli army, several from our congregation. We pray for their safety. Just this evening I received a report of a pastor's son who was shot in the calf, but the bullet went straight through without causing major damage.

How are we to pray?

- For the Israeli army to destroy terrorist infrastructure,
- For as few as possible Gazans to be hurt, and humanitarian aid given to them
- For the gospel to go forth to the Arab people and rescue them from the lies of Islam,
- For the demonic spirits behind the Jihad mentality to be bound and divided,
- For the refuting of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda,
- For the Holy Spirit to guide the Messianic believers within the army,
- For the downfall of the Hamas and other organizations like them,
- For the gospel to go forth to the Jewish people,
- For the testimony of reconciliation between Israeli Messianics and Palestinian Christians to increase

Note 1: Why and Why?
Since the Israeli pull out of Gaza, Hamas continues to incite terrorism. They say they are fighting the "occupation". How can they say that when Israel has removed all of its forces? - Because by "occupation", they mean the very existence of the state of Israel. They are fighting for the elimination of our people.

Since Israel has a stronger military force, why don't they just go in and wipe out the enemy forces in Gaza? They could do this easily. The answer is that, despite international propaganda, the Israeli people and government do not want to see innocent people killed. They are holding back their power for humanitarian reasons.

Note 2: Military force and the Gospel
Many Christians are confused by the call of reconciliation in the gospels with the need to use military force at times. There is no contradiction. Police and military are ministers, just as pastors and evangelists (Romans 13:4). We should never use force against anyone who rejects our message or our ministry. That is the wrong spirit of vengeance that Yeshua addressed in Samaria (Luke 9:55). In fact, that is the problem with Jihad: they use violence to force people to accept their religious views.

When people reject us, we respond with love, blessing in return. We do not reject Arabs for being Arabs - God forbid, that would be racism. We do not use force on Muslims because they are Muslims. We use force on criminals, murderers, terrorists and tyrants - whatever their religious or ethnic background. We do not use force against people for spiritual goals; we use force when they break the law. In that respect we treat terrorists as we would any form of organized crime or despotism.

Israeli Troops Return To Gaza: Overthrow Next?
KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip - About 25 Israeli armored vehicles rumbled into southern Gaza after nightfall Tuesday, and troops clashed with militants, Palestinian witnesses said.

The Israeli tanks fired shells and attack helicopters fired missiles during the clashes, witnesses said. Three militants were wounded, medical officials said.

Israeli defense officials said it was a “pinpoint” operation aimed at Gaza militants. It came just a day after Israel ended a destructive and bloody ground operation in northern Gaza against Palestinian rocket squads

Psalm 83
1Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Israel Continues Strikes After Deadly Blitz; More To Come

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Israeli warplanes early Tuesday carried out raids on the north of the Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinians and wounding two others, a Palestinian medical source said.

Israel had vowed on Monday to keep hitting Gaza even as troops pulled out of the Hamas-run territory after clashes that killed more than 120 Palestinians and dealt a major blow to Middle East peace talks.

A first raid against Gaza City killed one person while the second further north killed one and wounded two. The victims were not immediately identified.

A military spokesman in Tel Aviv told AFP that the Israeli air force had "attacked a group of terrorists who were preparing to fire rockets at Israel."

An Israeli military source said a rocket fired from the Beit Hanoun district north of Gaza City on Tuesday had smashed into a house in the southern Israeli town of Sderot, but nobody was hurt.

ROCKETS, TEARS AND TRAUMA by Stan Goodenough 3/4 on: March 04, 2008, 05:10:59 PM
Rockets, tears and trauma Posted on Tuesday 4 March 2008
Jerusalem has safe skies - for now.

I remember the welcoming feeling, 18 months ago, on returning to the capital after two days in the north during the Second Lebanon War. Up there - standing on Haifa’s hillsides, ears filling with siren screams and eyes straining out across the bay to where invisible and deadly rockets were winging their way towards us - the feeling of vulnerability was acute. Driving through the Galilee, with the hills smoking on either side, the inner cringing and subconscious bracing for impact leaped up again as the sirens sounded once more; it didn’t matter where we were - anywhere north of Haifa my scalp would be prickling with the sense of what could be hanging literally over my head.

And yet, I could balance that uneasiness against the fact that the potential targets of Hizb’allah’s high-explosives were many and covered a wide area. Apart from Haifa and the Kirya, there was Har Meron and Tsfat (Safed), Rosh Pinna, Kiryat Shemona and Metulla, each surrounded by open countryside dotted with fields and fishponds. There were plenty of places the rockets could fall, minimizing the chance they’d hit me.

At night in my hotel, I could hear the boom of rockets hitting all around, but safely afar off. And yet, there was the uneasiness, the defenselessness; intense enough so that when I got back home and walked the city streets, I really felt the freedom from fear under Jerusalem’s safe skies.

Today, early in the morning, we leave that safe, if grey, covering once again, this time heading from the mountains of Judea south-east down toward the coastal plain. Rolling hills give way to fields, lush-green all around us in these early days of March. Roads busy with traffic, life around us is buzzing with the normalcy of a working week-day.

It takes little more than an hour to reach our destination. Behind me, my wife is safely walking our children to school. But for me and my companions, after just this short drive, we’ve left the peace for a war zone. The skies here are also grey, but now they’re ominous too. Like an unwelcome guest, the sense of vulnerability returns. My scalp prickles. At any moment, projectiles can be coming towards us through the air.

This time, the target area is small: If Israel is a plastered wall, Sderot is the dart board hanging there. And if Sderot is the dart board, we feel like we’re right in the bull’s eye.

“It’s not a question of whether something will happen” Joel, a fellow journalist, says as we pull up outside the town’s central ambulance station, parking among the eight or nine ambulances that stand ready in the street. “It’s not a question of if something will happen. It will happen. The question is just, when?”

Less than 30 minutes after we arrive, it turns out.

“Tseva Adom! Tseva Adom! Ttseva Adom!” (Color Red! Color Red! Color Red!) The metallic voice sounds through the town-wide alarm system, and people start running for shelter. They have between 15 and 20 seconds before the rockets, fired by Arabs in Gaza, come hurtling into the town.

The ambulance crews beckon us into their security room, and we quickly and quietly file our way downstairs, our ears peeled. Before we even reach the shelter, with its bunk beds lining the walls, the sound of detonations reach our ears. A minute later, the all clear returns us to the street.

Two rockets landed just outside the town, we’re told. No one was hurt. Over an aid worker’s radio we hear details of what happened in Ashkelon minutes before: a Katyusha or Grad rocket (twin-engined, longer-range, larger warhead) hit a seven story building there. Twenty-eight people are wounded; miraculously none killed.

But for now, the ambulances in Sderot are not needed. “Please God we’ll have a quiet day,” an aid worker tells us as we move on.

Lots of police vehicles line the street outside the main police station. Two sport license plates indicating that some of the country’s most senior policemen are in town. There is no spokesman available, but we’re taken out back to view the racks of used Kassam rockets that have hit Sderot. They’re crude; pipes with vanes and warheads. The casings are thick; upon exploding they spray jagged pieces of steel around them, tearing flesh, destroying limbs and lives.

Then we drop by the fire station next door and talk to the men there. “Our first priority on arriving at an attack scene is to save lives and care for the wounded,” one firefighter stresses, in answer to our questions. Only then is structural damage seen to - ruptured gas mains, holed walls and roofs, and downed power lines repaired.

Compared to yesterday and the weekend, it’s quiet. I relax a little as we head to the “To Go” restaurant to meet with Geut.

Geut Aragon’s photograph, her head bloody and draped in bandages, stares at us out from the cover of a recent Christian Edition of The Jerusalem Post. Today she looks well, if tired. One of the media workers who helped set up this interview had said earlier Geut did not feel up to talking to the press today. But she had changed her mind.

We sit on the small patio and within minutes she has launched into her story of what happened on January 15. I’m running it as she told it:

“I will never forget it,” she says, quietly. “It was about five in the afternoon. We were at home; me and my little boy Nir, now four years old, and his friend who had come to play with him, she is five years old. They started playing downstairs and they asked me to put on the computer. And the computer is upstairs in his room. And I’m like, ‘Children, you know what, it’s not safe upstairs, I will put you something else on the TV.” And you know what, the children, they insisted that day. ‘Please put it on for us; we’ve had TV all day, TV - we can’t go outside even to the playground.” So I said, “Okay, just a few minutes, okay?’

“So we go upstairs and I sit in front of the computer, and just at that moment my little boy asked me to go to the toilet, ‘Mommy, mommy!’ So I’m like, ‘Go, hurry up.’ And he went out and was just standing by the door.

“There was no alarm; there was no tseva adom. It was like a great big boom. I know for the first second I was unconscious. And when I woke up it was like, what happened? Then I started to hear them screaming. The little girl was next to me and I could not see anything. Everything was black and I just heard the two screaming, ‘Mommy! mommy!’

“They were in a panic; they were hurt; they were bleeding. I was bleeding all over; my head was hurt so I didn’t stop bleeding, and I’m like, what shall I do? Oh, my God, they are children!

“I don’t know how to describe to you the way I felt at that horrible moment, and the way they screamed, ‘Help us! Help us! Mommy! Mommy!’

“I started to try to get up and I could not, so I started to crawl on the floor to search for the little girl. I touched pieces of the roof and the wall and suddenly I felt her arm and pushed her very hard, and took her and started to find the way out from the room while my boy screamed and cried and panicked….it seemed like forever.

“I’m like, please God send someone to save us. I got out of the room, and the moment I pushed the door my little boy was standing there. I did not know what I looked like. He was standing there and me and the girl were standing there and he stopped breathing in shock. Then he was screaming, ‘Mommy! Mommy! Blood! Blood!’ He turned his back to me, too afraid to see me. I took them and started to go downstairs, and I feel like I must take them downstairs before the house falls down on us. When I got to the front door there was the ambulance, the paramedics, all the people. They checked us and took us to the hospital.

“Every day, the moment I hear the alarm, I cover my ears and until now I just hear the screaming of those two children. Back then I was told I was badly hurt in my head and my leg. A large piece of shrapnel in my knee and three pieces in my head; one into the brain, so they do not want to touch it so it is still there…. I am still doing treatment and seeing doctors, and it’s very, very hard. The children need to have care, special psychologists take care of them; they don’t sleep at night and until today they start crying when they hear the alarm…they are so afraid. It is very hard to live in such a place that you don’t have the chance to recover. Every day gets harder and harder…. People saw the pictures and they came to see me in the hospital. And if you see the room, the whole second floor, it was horrible and the people said it was a miracle, a big miracle; one chance in a million that with a direct hit like that we came out of this room. I know it was a miracle and I thank God it was a miracle…”

Geut said all Sderot’s people “are very, very afraid. Some don’t go out at all; they do their shopping and everything by telephone because every day different houses are being hit…more than once in a day, every day, sometimes every 20 seconds….”

She believes “the government is trying everything [but] it’s not human to live like this. It’s hard to say – because I have two boys and one day they will also go to the army and will fight – but I feel that our army does not do enough because years ago there was a war in the north and … they protected all the people that lived there, and here in the south we don’t feel that they protect us; I know we are all afraid to lose soldiers but that’s why we have an army.”

Subdued, we wish her well. After lunch - “To Go’s” small kitchen turns them out to order so the food is fresh, tasty, inexpensive - we head for a second rendezvous.

This next experience will be the most harrowing.

Chava Gad meets us downtown and we drive her the five minutes to her home. She asks whether we would like to talk to her inside or outside. The sun has started to peep through, warming and coloring the air. “Outside would be best,” we agree.

Nervously, Chava insists on first opening the door into her apartment block so that, if necessary, she can quickly get inside. Three floors above us, a blackened window and burned gables show where a rocket scored a direct hit.

As she touches the latch, the alarm breaks out: “Tseva Adom! Tseva Adom!” Quickly, we are ushered indoors. Chava grabs a small boy and leads us into the hallway – a relatively safe place to stand.

Bending protectively over Yanai, her nine-year-old, Chava pulls him close, whispering calming words through her own clenched teeth; encouraging him to breathe slowly, deeply.

Through the rasping of the alarm, the whimpering sounds of the child fighting sheer terror pierces my heart. Then Yanai gasps, together with his mom, at the first explosion, some distance away. The second, closer, is much louder; we feel the shock waves. More seconds drag out, and then it’s over.

Last week, they were going through this 15 to 20 times a day.

Chava doses Yanai with syrup – a natural remedy to calm him, she says. Her whole body is shaking, as if chilled, as she takes the valium she needs before sitting down, still quivering, to talk. For nearly an hour, while Yanai alternately potters around the kitchen and hurls himself on and off the couch, Chava pours out her heart, describing how so many facets of life have been destroyed for so many in Sderot. And still, even as she expresses bewilderment at the circumstances she is in, the woman insists she still believes in, and hopes for, peace.

Chava’s story, as she recounted it, will be posted here soon.

While we’re talking, a young policeman enters from an inside room – pistol on his hip, girl with a large helium balloon at his side. He’s her first-born, Chava says proudly. And it’s his 21st birthday today. They will leave the house, between rocket attacks, to celebrate. I wonder where.

An hour later we are heading back to Jerusalem. But our thoughts are back there with Yanai’s family, and with all the others who have lived under rocket attacks for a period that has lasted nearly twice as long as World War 2.

How easy things are for us as, winding our way up through the hills, we look forward to being once again under the friendly skies over the ancient city of King David.

Then one of my companions bursts that bubble. “The rockets will be falling here too, one day,” he says.

Despite the pain, anguish and fear suffered by the Israeli people in the past two years, their leaders seem unable to learn the lessons inflicted as a result of the Lebanon withdrawal and the Gaza “disengagement.”

Certainly, if they continue in the direction they insist on following despite the daily intensifying danger, it is only a matter of time – and not much of that – before Jerusalem’s skies rain rockets too.

How much we need to pray, for the people of Sderot, Ashkelon, and indeed for all Israel. And how we, gentiles, need to speak out against the concerted effort of our nations that continue to work, inexorably, towards the dividing up of this land and the weakening to ultimate destruction, of this people.

The intake must be fairly high, to ensure that the body is DRENCHED with Iodine.

If you come in contact with radioactive material: take a shower and scrub for 15 minutes as quick as you can (all together preferably).

Thanks for this nice birthday present.

The price of oil
THE WASHINGTON TIMES EDITORIAL
March 5, 2008
While "the Bush boom" certainly hasn't set any economic-growth records during the last six years, the economy has nonetheless shown remarkable resilience in the face of rising oil prices. With the price of oil recently passing $100 per barrel, that resilience is not being severely tested.

In February 2002, the NYMEX one-month future price of oil was less than $21 per barrel. A year's worth of saber-rattling in advance of the March 2003 invasion of Iraq raised the NYMEX price by 75 percent to $37 per barrel; but during the week in April 2003 that Baghdad fell, the NYMEX price had retreated to $28. By the end of 2003, oil cost $32 per barrel. Then the oil escalator picked up speed.

After surpassing $54 per barrel just before the 2004 election, the price of oil receded to $43 by year's end. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, oil approached $70 per barrel before retreating to $60 by the end of 2005. In 2006, the NYMEX price jumped over the $75 barrier during the summer conflict between Israel's armed forces and Hezbollah in Lebanon, but the price settled at $62 at the end of the year.

When the price of oil dipped below $52 in January 2007, many analysts believed that its seemingly relentless rise had finally been halted. After all, the December 2006 price of $62 per barrel reflected a 220 percent increase over the price that prevailed five years earlier (and a 460 percent increase over the NYMEX oil price at the end of 1998). During the 2002-06 period, as the price of oil more than tripled, the economy proved its resilience by still managing to grow at an average annual compounded rate of 2.8 percent. That's not world-class speed, but it did represent sustained growth in the face of strong energy head winds.

As it turned out, of course, there proved to be little reason for oil-price optimism in 2007. And, in recent days, the price of oil has comfortably surpassed the $100 per barrel level, setting an all-time, inflation-adjusted record in the process.

If the oil market can sustain a triple-digit price of oil for the next several months — a possibility that would be enhanced if OPEC ministers, as expected, decline to increase output at today's meeting — then the ensuing soaring costs of gasoline, jet fuel, home-heating oil and other petroleum products may well be the final straw that breaks the economy's back.

Report: U.S. To Attack Syria If It Insists On, Lebanon Position

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mar 4, 2008

Egypt leaks information about an American military action against Syria

Jordanian newspaper Al-Arab Al-Youm reported today, through sources that an American message leaked by Egypt to Syria shows that the United States is ready to launch a broad military operation against Syria if it insists on its position on the Lebanese crisis and this is the real reason behind the deployment of “USS Cole” in front of the Syrian - Lebanese waters[/color]

The source said that the official announced reason of Condoleezza Rice’s visit to Egypt is to push the Palestinian - Israeli peace process forward but the real reason is to explain the American military actions and the presence of the American ships to the Egyptian leadership.

Update

This is reported today “US waived congressional restriction on Egypt aid” … which says it all.

Hummmmm........is it possible that we are the ones who destroy Damascus? Isaiah 17:1

This verse says that the burden of Damascus is taken away from being a city. However, it does not say that Israel will be the ones to do it. Usually in the Bible if Israel is going to smash someone, it specifically says so.

Just a thought?

oh man....if we destroy Damascus, the anger of the Muslim world will be intense.

Opps sorry, but it's so hard to not say anything when you see someone thinking something like you...

I never thought of the US destroying Damascus. I thought more of an Israeli strike in response to a nuclear, chemical or biological attack that even Olmert couldn't ignore. I don't know if I have my chronology correct, but I have wondered if the destruction of Damascus wouldn't be the "hook," in Russia's jaw that brought them against Israel.

I stand ready to be corrected, rebuked, flamed
