17 suffer shock as Grad rocket slams into Ashkelon home
Quote:
It marks the first time ever that a building in the western Negev town has been struck in a rocket attack.
Four Grad rockets hit the city in the Thursday afternoon attack.

Isn't it SO frustrating to see C. Rice in the region requesting Israel tone down the assaults when so much aggression towards Israel is going on. It's also worrisome to see the new signs in Jerusalem up saying the arabs are now the proud owners of more of God's holy land. Apparently the "giving in" isn't working. The rocket fire from Gaza has actually gotten worse.

It keeps making me think of the verse that talks about ALL nations coming against Israel. They are DEFINITELY against Israel.

It is like a little brother always picking fights with the older, stronger brother and the mother saying to the older brother "now you need to be nice to him"...uhhh NO!!

I was skeptical about her going back to the region at this particular time. Isn't it strange how it coincides with all the new signs going up in Jerusalem? Maybe she's just going over there to make sure the job gets done per request

It keeps making me think of the verse that talks about ALL nations coming against Israel. They are DEFINITELY against Israel.

It is like a little brother always picking fights with the older, stronger brother and the mother saying to the older brother "now you need to be nice to him"...uhhh NO!!

What about these verses?

Zep 2:1 ¶ Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
Zep 2:2 Before the decree bring forth, [before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.
Zep 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
Zep 2:4 ¶ For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

Verse 4 - Wonder who the "they" are?

Wow wow wow. Everyday it is getting closer to all out world war.

All five large rockets under five minutes. yes all war is coming closer and closer

-----Ok I get the Gaza being forsaken (I am assuming that no one would live there instead of Israel pulling out) but isn't Ashkelon a current city in Israel that was just bombed? I wonder who will forsake it? Israel? and Isn't Ekron a current city?

I know this is nothing new, but it just blows me away to see scripture that has been written thousands of years ago tell us what is going to happen tomorrow. AMAZING!!!

Zep 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.

I am wondering since the government of Israel put up signs dividing Israel recently if they seek righteousness and meekness, then they shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger and us also.

Ekron has been identified by archaeologists as being located near the modern Kibbutz of Revadim at Tel Mikne.

Ekron has been identified with several sites. Despite the similarity of its name to that of the Arab village of Aqir, this identification has definitely been ruled out. Today it is identified with Tel Miqneh (Khirbet el-Muhanna), northeast of Ashdod.

You can find Tel Miqneh on the Map. = Ekron

Development program
Israel first showed interest in procuring nuclear materials in 1949, when a unit of the IDF Science Corps carried out a two year geological survey of the Negev. One objective of this was to find sources of uranium.[9] In June 1952, German-born chemist Ernst David Bergmann was appointed by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to be the first chairman of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC). Also appointed head Division of Research and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Defense earlier that same year, Bergmann used the Defense unit as the "chief laboratory" of the IAEC, and during this time developed the capablity to extract uranium from the Negev and produce indigenous heavy water.

US sending warships to Mediterranean as tensions mount

Quote:
The US Navy is sending three warships to the eastern Mediterranean Sea in a show of strength during a period of tensions with Syria and political uncertainty in Lebanon.

Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters the deployment should not be viewed as threatening or in response to events in any single country in that volatile region.

"This is an area that is important to us, the eastern Med," he said when asked about news reports of the ship movements. "It's a group of ships that will operate in the vicinity there for a while," adding that "it isn't meant to send any stronger signals than that, but it does signal that we're engaged, we're going to be in the vicinity and that's a very, very important part of the world."

Israel warns Gaza invasion impending By ALON BERNSTEIN, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 23 minutes ago

ASHKELON, Israel - Israeli leaders warned Friday of an approaching conflagration in the Gaza Strip as Israel activated a rocket warning system to protect Ashkelon, a city of 120,000 people, from Palestinian rockets.

Ashkelon was hit by several Grad rockets fired from Gaza on Thursday, a sign of the widening scope of violence between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. One hit an apartment building and another landed near a school, wounding a 17-year-old girl.

Located 11 miles from Gaza, Ashkelon had been sporadically targeted in the past but never suffered direct hits or significant damage.

"It will be sad, and difficult, but we have no other choice," Matan Vilnai, Israel's deputy defense mister, said Friday, referring to the large-scale military operation he said Israel was preparing to bring a halt to the rocket fire.

"We're getting close to using our full strength. Until now, we've used a small percentage of the army's power because of the nature of the territory," Vilnai told Army Radio on Friday.

Israel does not intend to launch a major ground offensive in the next week or two, partly because the military prefers to wait for better weather, defense officials said. But the army has now completed its preparations and informed the government it's ready to move immediately when the order is given, the officials said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity.

After Thursday's rocket attacks on Ashkelon, Israel activated its "Code Red" rocket warning system there. The system picks up incoming rockets and sounds an alarm in the target area, giving residents time — a few dozen seconds, in Ashkelon's case — to scramble for cover.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080229/ap_on_...el_palestinians

Nowhere in any article is there any mention of why there is a "Code Red" warning. The terror alert for the world is not "Code Red."
The last post I put up showed the coordinates of the nuclear plant and where the rockets were fired.
Iran has an underground nuclear site with a barrage of surface to air missles surrounding it. Same with Israel, but the plants in Israel are not underground.
The plutonium and uranium centrifuges are right out there in the open under an igloo roof.
All it would take is for 1 of those rockets to hit that igloo and life is gone from that area for a 1000 years.

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel was mulling on Friday intensifing its operations against the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, where the Islamists called for mass protests against strikes that have killed 30 Palestinians in two days.

"We will not shy away from any action" to force the Islamist movement to halt the near-daily rocket fire on Israeli soil, Deputy Defence Minister Matan Vilnai told army radio.

Is the formation of European "Superstate" and the coming "New World Order" signs of Christ's return?
Dr. Jack Van Impe
Feb 29 2008 10:30AM

From the Desk of Dr. Jack Van Impe

I have heard a great deal about the European
"Superstate" and the coming "New World
Order." Are these events also signs of
Christ’s return?

The short answer is Yes! We are living at a time in which it is not only possible for a world dictator of unprecedented authority to emerge-the Antichrist- it is also inevitable. God's Word states that only seven empires will exist in world history before Christ returns. The verse proving this statement is Revelation 17:10, "There are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space." The five fallen empires referred to by John in this verse are Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Medo-Persia, and Greece. The one that ruled at the time John wrote the Book of Revelation was Rome. One more final empire would arise, but there would first be a long delay. That global power would be the "revived Roman Empire," a scenario we addressed briefly in an earlier question. From this final group of nations the figure known as the Antichrist emerges and reigns for a brief period-just eighty-four months.

Soon Hamas can strike deep into Israel

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It really seems that things are escalating over in the epicenter Israel.

Hamas shot rockets that struck into Ashkelon, and are upgrading to
Soviet made missles coming out of the Gaza Strip.

Does anyone else feel that things are really going come out into the open very soon. It is a different feeling seeing many things on the move, but it just doesn't feel for real. For some reason today it feels like things are
really really really on the move. When you get that on the edge of
your seat feeling.

Seriously! Keep Israel in your prayers, everyone.

I've not seen any US news organizations giving substantive coverage of the shelling by Hamas. That, to me, is also cause for alarm; it's almost as if the media doesn't want to publicize the shelling in the hopes that Hamas, et al, would be emboldened by the perceived lack of anger on our part.

I am absolutely mystified by the news media today. praying for Israel I hope they get there in time. Sence this news is out I hope that the Hizbullah does not do anything before we get there to help Israel.

I'm not sure we would help Israel at this point.

Maybe God does not want intervention.....He is perfectly capable, right? Only He knows what are in the plans.

but scripture says eventually there is no one to help Israel, and then and only then will people see and acknowledge God's power in saving them. the more we help, the longer it will go on...
Im not saying we shouldn't help.... We should be supporting the Nation of Israel, but someday, there will be no nation able or inclined to do so.

In case you did not know, the 4 ships I mentioned are stricken WWII-post war battleships that now serve as memorials/museums. To reactivate them would take years at great cost. It would have to get very serious to commission them again.

For now, Israel is quite capable of defending herself with the exception of the sea. That is where the US (Navy) has been a great friend.

But someday Israel's allys will be gone - raptured, disabled, crippled, and her own strength weakened or pushed beyond it's limits. Then they will fall on their knees and cry to the LORD and He will deliver them.

I agree. I also pray that the US is over there to help Israel and doesn't turn their back on her just yet. I know it will come, but I hope that through this...until the peace treaty....US helps Israel. It seems like she has no friends anymore and I would hate for her best friend to turn her back too.

Israel Warns Palestininans Of "Shoah" Disaster

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A senior Israeli defense official said on Friday that Palestinians firing rockets from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip would bring upon themselves what he termed a "shoah," the Hebrew word for holocaust or disaster.

The word is rarely used in Israel outside discussions of the Nazi Holocaust of Jews. Many Israelis are loath to countenance its use to describe other contemporary events.

Israeli air strikes have killed at least 33 Gazans, including five children, in the past two days, and Israeli leaders said cross-border rocket fire may leave the Jewish state with little choice but to launch a broader military offensive.

One Israeli was killed in a rocket attack on Wednesday in the southern border town of Sderot. Tensions increased further after longer-range rockets hit the city of Ashkelon, a major population centre about 10 km (6 miles) from Gaza

QUOTE
They are going to nuke Gaza?

It does sound suspicious doesn't it

Probably not. Too close to Israeli citizens and high risk of nuclear fallout. But a rather large surgical missile strike might suffice. for those in harms way.

I'll believe any robust, aggressive action when I see it.

Israel usually throw out words with nothing behind it. If anything Omert will say they will do nothing but talk and then an hour later the military is pulling Hamas up by the tail. I haven't seen, in my vast 6 month knowledge, Israel speaking big and not following it up.

QUOTE
Seriously! Keep Israel in your prayers, everyone.

If I were in Israel, I would be having an ulcer. You have Hamas striking deeper and deeper with Soviet (Russian?) and Iranian weapons, Hisballah breathing down their neck, Imanutjob declaring your end of existence, I would be FREAKING!

QUOTE
I've not seen any US news organizations giving substantive coverage of the shelling by Hamas. That, to me, is also cause for alarm; it's almost as if the media doesn't want to publicize the shelling in the hopes that Hamas, et al, would be emboldened by the perceived lack of anger on our part.

yes they are getting ready for war. praying for Israel I think that is one of the reasons that the navy has 3 ships going to the area.
Haniyeh said, "(Such an) operation would end in total failure for Israel, just like the rest of its operations in the past..." Is he rewriting history? The leaders of all of Israel's enemies seem to be really bold and cocky lately. It does make you wonder why they're acting so invincible. Kind of like a little Chihuahua running out in the front yard barking his little lungs out only because his great big brother, the Dobernman, is standing behind him backing him up. I wonder who Hamas' back-up is.

Iran and Syria and probably Russia.

Yesterday Olmert said it is "war" but they will hold back and today Israel said there is going to be a hallocost against the Hamas - they used the Hebrew word for it which indicates to me they are getting ready to wipe out the Hamas very soon. See other article which just came on on the hallocost - sorry misspelled word.

I've not seen any US news organizations giving substantive coverage of the shelling by Hamas. That, to me, is also cause for alarm; it's almost as if the media doesn't want to publicize the shelling in the hopes that Hamas, et al, would be emboldened by the perceived lack of anger on our part.

And, Hamas knows this very well. I remember back in the 06 Hezbollah/Israel war, the propaganda that Hezbollah put out was horrendous.

They tried to show a picture of a little girl being killed by an Israel raid at a "playground". After Reuters investigation (I believe it was Reuters), it was discovered that the little girl had died from something else previously, and Hezbollah staged her body (from the morgue) for the picture. It was grotesque.

Then, it was pointed out that the same people were showing up in all the pictures, just wearing different clothing.

Does anyone else remember that? It was incredible how they used the media, and "unsuspecting" world to draw sympathy.

'Israel foils attack on Dimona reactor'
By JPOST.COM STAFF

Israel recently foiled a terror attack on the Dimona nuclear reactor, a Kuwaiti newspaper quoted British sources as saying Friday. According to the paper, Al Jarida, Israeli security forces arrested a senior employee at the plant after they uncovered a plot to blow up one of the heaters at the facility. According to the British sources, the worker, who was only identified as Moshe, is also suspected of leaking information about the reactor to foreign sources.

Moshe's family, who had no idea about his arrest, reportedly believed that he was on a secret training exercise abroad. The sources claimed that the suspect would soon be served an indictment in an Israeli court, adding that the case was even more severe than that of nuclear whistleblower Mordehai Vanunu. A security official denied the report, telling Israel Radio that it was "totally unfounded."

I'm shocked! If this is a senior employee, then he is probably an Israeli citizen. If so, the enemy has vastly improved their penetration capabilities. Where else are they on the inside???

In light of the ongoing escalation of rockets being fired into Israel things are beginning to heat up. Yesterday there was a definite escalation by Hamas as they began to fire Grad-type Katyusha rockets, which have come from Iran into Gaza. “In the past 24 hours, over 15 heavy rockets were fired from Hamas-controlled Gaza against Israel’s southern port city of Ashkelon,” a Foreign Ministry dispatch to journalists and diplomatic staff said. “The 122 mm Grad rockets (also known as Katyushas), are a type of standard military artillery weapon produced in the former Soviet bloc and by other states deploying non-Western arms. It is manufactured to military standards, by a conventional arms industry, and is equipped with a weapons-grade high explosive fragmentation warhead.”

Here in Israel there are many prayer meetings taking place, along with a national prayer meeting scheduled for around March 11th, in Jerusalem. We need the prayer warriors in the nations to stand with us in this time of growing tensions and danger. It is not that larger numbers impress the Lord, but as we join forces in prayer we are believing the Lord to release strategies on what to pray and faith to see His response as we humble ourselves and cry out for His mercy....

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) - Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas on Saturday denounced a deadly Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip that has killed at least 32 people as "more than a holocaust."

"It's very regrettable that what is happening is more than a holocaust. We tell the world to see with its own eyes and judge for itself what is happening and who is carrying out international terrorism," Abbas told reporters in Ramallah.

He appeared to be referring to remarks made by Israel's Deputy Defence Minister Matan Vilnai, who used the Hebrew word "shoah" -- generally used only for the Nazi Holocaust -- in remarks to army radio on Friday.

"By intensifying the rocket fire and extending their reach (Gaza militants) are bringing onto themselves a worse catastrophe (shoah) as we will use all means to defend ourselves," Vilnai said.

Promising heavy retaliation is one thing...using such a loaded word, with Holocaust connotations...does not seem well thought out. Probably said in the heat of the moment.

Oh wait...after reading the other thread about Hamas strking deep into Israel with bigger rockets...I can well understand if Matan Vilnai deliberately used this word! What a threat they face! I'm afraid ordinary Palestinians are in for a rough time unless they sum up the courage to take on those Hamas thugs in their midst.

Sitting here and trying to look at this through good old Pres. IWannaBeAPenguin's eyes.

For the first time in history, we have a nation wanting to go to war without the expectation/objective of defeating the other nations. Just what is winning to them...what is power or powerful to them?

Winning and power is unleashing worldwide chaos to usher in the well dweller, their Madie, or whatever its called.

How capable are they of doing this? We don't know. What weapons do they really have? How many sleeper cells do they have in the US and Europe? Do they have nukes, anthrex, gas or just some guns and explosives? Do we know?

If we don't know, then he is almost as powerful as the worst possible scenario immaginable would make him.

Guess what I'm really asking.....Is it just bluster or is it true from his perspective?

He is not powerful at all. He is just an insane little man that wants to start armageddon. And that does not make us weak, just stupid if we let him get away with it. But then would it be in line with biblical prophecy for the end times if we did stop him?

The man is a raving lunatic! # 1 in idiocy if nothing else.

At the rate this "lunatic" is going, I wonder will he start something major before the US elections???

If he does, does that mean that George W can remain president due to that law passed after 9-11 allowing the pres in office to have increased "powers" during a war or crisis...... anyone remember this??????I'll look it up when I come home from work........if I don't remember somebody

the Hitler comparison is correct...why can't it be seen? True...he is a little crazy...but in the most serious way...and I don't think simply saying he's "nuts" and leaving it at that is very wise (which seems like what is being done and stated)....maybe it's just me. Personally, as I stated I think he is a little "off".....but I don't simply just dismiss him at that....maybe I just need more coffee. What is that saying...."All it takes for evil to flourish is for sane men to do nothing"....has a familiar ring to it I think.

33 Palestinians killed during ongoing IDF raids in Gaza Strip
By AP AND JPOST STAFF

Talkbacks for this article: 7

Thirty-three Palestinians have been killed on Saturday and at least 40 have been wounded in an IDF operation meant to combat the ongoing Palestinian rocket fire on Israeli cities in the western Negev.

According to Palestinian sources, at least 16 of those killed were civilians, including a baby reported to have been struck when a Palestinian rocket misfired, as well as two teenagers. Palestinian gunmen bombarded Israel with 40 rockets and mortar rounds by early afternoon, undeterred by Israeli troops backed by tanks and attack aircrafts.

Five IDF troops were wounded during the operations, two lightly to moderately, and three lightly.

In all, 63 Palestinians have been killed since clashes between Israel and Hamas terrorists sparked Wednesday when an Israeli student at Sapir College in Sderot was killed by a Kassam rocket.

Hamas said the baby, Malak Karfaneh, was killed and three other civilians were wounded in an Israeli strike on Beit Hanun, a northern town where Palestinians often launch rockets at Israel. But local residents said one of those rockets fell short and landed in the area of the baby's house.

The IDF, which sent troops, tanks and aircraft after Gaza rocket squads, said it only attacks rocket-launching operations, but noted that terrorists sometimes operate within civilian areas.

Fierce fighting erupted Saturday east of the town of Jebaliya, and at least nine Palestinians were killed, medical officials said. Among those killed were at least three gunmen, but also four civilians, including a 17-year-old girl and her 16-year-old brother and a 45-year-old man and his 20-year-old son, the officials said.

At around midnight on Friday the IDF said it attacked an armaments factory in the central Gaza Strip and a rocket launcher in the north Gaza.

At the same time, Palestinians said Eid al-Ashram, a weapons expert, was killed by an IAF missile in an open area in northern Gaza.

Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna'i told Army Radio that Israel had "no other choice" but to launch a massive military operation in Gaza.

"We will use all our strength in every way we deem appropriate, whether in air strikes or on the ground," Vilna'i said.

Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, dismissed Vilnai's comments, saying: "We are not afraid of these threats."

The IDF has notified the government it is ready to launch a major ground offensive as soon as it is ordered to do so, defense officials said. Nothing is expected for the next week or two, in part because the military prefers to wait for clearer weather, they added.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on Israel to stop all attacks in Gaza and urged Palestinians to halt the rocket fire. "It is in the interest of the Palestinian people not to give Israel any pretext to continue its aggressions," a statement from his office said.

US State Department spokesman Tom Casey denounced Hamas's rocket attacks as "completely unacceptable" and demanded they stop. He also said the US regularly urges Israel to consider the consequences of its actions and to pay careful attention to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.

Approximately rockets have been fired at Israel throughout the day.

Hamas's armed wing, Izzadin Kassam, claimed responsibility for firing five rockets at Israel, one of which misfired, wounding five Gazans.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Intelligence chief Omar Suleiman has postponed his upcoming trip to Israel, planned for the middle of next week.

Suleiman informed Defense Minister Ehud Barak of his decision on Friday morning.

Jerusalem officials estimated that the reason for the postponement was the escalation in the Gaza Strip and also cited Suleiman's concerns that the IDF is about to embark on a large-scale operation in the territory.

Cairo is trying to arrange anther date for the trip, Israel Radio reported.

Israel Prepares For Showdown With Iran
Saturday 1st March 2008
Israel Update for February 2008
David Dolan

With Iranian leaders bombastically stating once again during February that Israel will soon be destroyed, Israel's top military leader warned mid-month that a decisive armed conflict could break out in the troubled region at any time. He added that it would be a major test over the resolve and preparedness of the country's regular and reserve armed forces.

This came soon after the army, air force and navy were placed on heightened alert after the Lebanese Hizbullah militia vowed to avenge the assassination of its top military commander, which it blamed on Israel. Tensions escalated even further after the group's main ally Iran hinted that nuclear warheads might have already been deployed in Lebanon.

The new war jitters came just two weeks after the release of the Winograd commission report on the intense conflict Israel waged against the extremist Shiite militia in the summer of 2006. Its conclusion resulted in stepped up calls for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to resign.

Tensions also escalated in the south as concentrated Palestinian rocket and mortar fire continued to pour down upon Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip. One exploding rocket severed an Israeli boy's leg in the besieged town of Sderot, sharply increasing public pressure on the government to do more to halt the blitz.

With IDF pinpoint strikes against rocket launchers occurring almost every day during the month, officials made plain that a major military operation to end the constant assaults was in the final stages of preparation. Meanwhile the first Palestinian suicide bombing in over one year took the life of an Israeli woman, leaving her husband critically wounded. The atrocity was claimed by Hamas.

All Out War On The Horizon?

Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi became Israel's Armed Forces Chief of Staff less than one year ago when his predecessor, Dan Halutz, was forced to resign in the wake of the controversial 2006 military stalemate with Hizbullah forces. Working night and day since then to restructure the armed forces-which the Winograd commission said generally performed poorly during the 34 day Lebanon conflict-he warned on February 20 that Israel may be facing an imminent new war that could threaten the country's very existence.

Speaking at an army officer's graduation ceremony, Ashkenazi said Israel's military forces must be fully prepared for possible conflict "in the near future." He added rather ominously that nothing less than "the continued existence and success" of the world's only Jewish-led country might depend upon the outcome of any such conflagration.

"There are dangers to our survival on the horizon and great challenges to Israeli security. The Israeli Defense Forces need to insure a rapid victory in any conflict, and I cannot guarantee that we won't need to act in the near future."

Some Israeli military analysts averred that the Armed Forces Chief was cryptically referring to an Israeli air force strike upon Iran's burgeoning nuclear program, which they assume would not only be followed by Tehran's threatened missile counterstrikes upon Israeli civilian and military targets (including the Dimona nuclear reactor), but by missile, rocket and probably ground assaults from Syrian, Hizbullah and Hamas forces. A few noted that such a wide-scale conflict could easily involve the use of non-conventional weapons, possibly even nuclear bombs, on one or both sides, which could be the "threat to Israel's very existence" that Ashkenazi referred to.

Olmert And Barak Warn Of Pending Battles

Speaking at the same ceremony, Prime Minister Olmert pronounced that Israel's military forces were "ready to face any fresh challenge" that might await them. "The lessons of the last war are being implemented at all levels of command in the Israeli Defense Forces. Unprecedented resources today allow the IDF to train more, prepare better for a time of trouble, and train commanders and fighters at all levels in the best possible manner and for all scenarios."

Making an apparent veiled reference to Israel's assumed nuclear weapons umbrella, which he spoke of more openly during a German media interview nearly two years ago, Olmert added that "The State of Israel, in its sixtieth year, is a strong nation, with military might, a known deterrent force for all those who need to know, and a nation of the most impressive accomplishments."

It is also a country led by a very unpopular Premier. Opinion surveys taken in the wake of the late January release of the Winograd commission's final report showed most Israelis want someone other than Ehud Olmert at the helm of government at this critical hour. The report rebuked the PM for taking the country to war in a hasty manner without first checking to see if military leaders had a plan on hand to rout Hizbullah forces (the report said they did not). Still, Olmert vowed to remain in power, ignoring stepped up calls by many politicians for his departure. His ability to hang tight for the time being seemed assured when Labor party leader Ehud Barak announced in early February that he would not pull his party out of the coalition, as he had earlier pledged to do after the final report was released.

Maybe this is why Hezbollah has been so cocky lately!

Okay...here's the $64,000 question...if true....where did the Nuke warheads come from? Did Iran produce them?.....Did they come from North Korea?....Pakistan?....or From Iran's friendly neighbor...the peace-loving government of Russia?

If the UN were doing their job these would be serious questions that would be put to each one of the countries with serious penalties for failure to answer...Of course, the UN can't do much because Russia will use its veto right up to the time the world is burning and giving off a strange nuke glow.

Is there any question that the promises of our Lord are close at hand?

But let's examine some of Obama's key votes:

On May 24, 2007, he voted against continued funding of our troops in Iraq. He was one of only 14 negative votes, meaning most of his Democratic colleagues opposed him.

On Jan. 11, 2007, he voted against reform on earmarks, the basis of pork-barrel spending – again contradicting the majority of his fellow Democrats.

On June 22, 2006, he voted against procurement of F-22A fighter aircraft and F-119 engines – again contradicting the majority of his fellow Democrats.

On May 17, 2006, he voted against an increase in the amount of fencing and vehicle barriers along the southwest border of the U.S. – again contradicting the majority of his fellow Democrats.

On Sept. 29, 2005, he opposed the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice John Roberts.

On Aug. 3, 2007, he voted against expanding the power of U.S. intelligence agencies to eavesdrop on foreign terror suspects.

On April 26, 2007, he voted to set dates for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

On March 29, 2007, he voted to start withdrawing troops from Iraq last summer.

On July 18, 2006, he voted to allow federal funding for experimentation on embryonic stem cells.

On June 6, 2006, he opposed a cloture motion on a same-sex marriage amendment that effectively killed it.

On May 25, 2006, he voted for a "comprehensive immigration reform" bill that would have provided amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

On May 11, 2006, he voted against extending President Bush's tax cuts.

On Jan. 31, 2006, he opposed confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.
I could go on and on. He has cast dozens and dozens of votes to spend taxpayer money on extra-constitutional programs. The National Journal characterized him as the most liberal senator in 2007. He's been out there – on the fringe – casting tough votes, controversial votes, extreme votes.

And that's why I thought his answer to that question at the Cleveland debate was so amazing, so unbelievable, so shocking.

What is the single, solitary, lone vote Barack Obama regrets having cast in his years in the Senate?

Here's what he said: "When I first arrived in the Senate that first year, we had a situation surrounding Terri Schiavo. And I remember how we adjourned with a unanimous agreement that eventually allowed Congress to interject itself into that decision-making process of the families. It wasn't something I was comfortable with, but it was not something that I stood on the floor and stopped. And I think that was a mistake, and I think the American people understood that that was a mistake. And as a constitutional law professor, I knew better. ... And I think that's an example of inaction, and sometimes that can be as costly as action."

That "situation" surrounding Terri Schiavo was, I like to think, an earnest effort by a group of lawmakers to save the life of an innocent woman who was eventually put to death by court order – starved and dehydrated against the wishes of her mother, father and siblings, who wished to care for her at their own expense.

That is Barack Obama's deepest legislative regret – his biggest mistake. He tried to save the life of a poor, handicapped woman who was being victimized in the most inhuman way by her estranged husband and a rogue local court.

This should give you some insight into the character of Barack Obama. It should give you a glimpse of his dark soul. It should give you a look into his hardened, politically correct heart. It should give you a picture of what this country has in store for it when he is elected president later this year.

Prepare by removing yourself and your assets from 3rd party holders. Gold is moving up each day the USD goes down. 401k assets and other "investments" will not be spared. This is going to be worse, far worse than anything this country saw in the 20's and 30's. Pray for revival in America that people would come to know Jesus Christ.

Fires erupt in Ashkelon’s shopping center from direct rocket hit Saturday amid heavy battles in Gaza
March 1, 2008, 6:11 PM (GMT+02:00)

Israel self-propelled gun in N. Gaza
DEBKAfile’s military sources report: Israel’s Givati Brigade troops engaged in heavy fighting with Hamas armed forces in the northern Gaza Strip’s Sejaya and Jebalya areas Saturday March 1, in the IDF’s first extended challenge to Hamas missile and rocket attacks on Ashkelon and Sderot regions. Tanks, self-propelled guns, F-16 fighter jets and helicopters took part in the combat. Five Israeli soldiers were injured by Palestinian fire, two seriously. The Palestinians reported 38 dead – 15 in battle, the rest civilians including 5 children, as well as 120 injured.

Two air force attacks took place in late afternoon in Jebalya – one hit a large store of war materiel, including missiles.

Throughout the battles, the Palestinians continued firing scores of missiles and rockets – 47 by evening. Three waves of extended Katyusha rockets hit Ashkelon, under attack for the third day running. One set the shopping center on fire after two crashed into houses, injuring 6 people, two of them children. There were dozens of shock victims.

After the Red Color code alert was installed, furious Ashkelonites said they will never let their town become Sderot No. 2, an Israeli town whose population has dwindled under years of missile attacks from Gaza. Leaders of Ashkelon’s 120,000 inhabitants are demanding tough Israeli military action against Gaza to nip its expanded aggression in the bud. More sirens were installed in Ashkelon Saturday, public bomb shelters opened and Magen David emergency services reinforced with extra ambulances and medical teams.

Sderot and its kibbutz and moshav neighbors sustained 50 Qassam missiles. One exploded harmlessly in an empty nursery school. Six shock victims were hospitalized.

A Grad rocket reached Kfar Silver which is situated between Ashkelon and the big port town of Ashdod to the north. This town, 27 km north of Gaza, and within range of the larger and more powerful Palestinian rockets, is preparing for Palestinian rocket attacks to start. Twelve alert systems are ready.

The education minister is drawing up plans to evacuate children from towns and villages in direct line of missile fire from Gaza.

The IDF’s Homeland Command has installed Red Color code alerts in 8 locations around Ashkelon: Kfar Silver, Berachiya, Bat Hadar, Beit Shikma, Mavki’im, Talmei Yosef, Gaya and Mishan.

I'm afraid you're right, but my fear takes me away from any anticipation. What seems to be happening is what Jesus said.

Luke 19:26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

This starts at Luke 19:12 with the noble man who went to a far country to receive a kingdom. That may be Jesus going away to receive the kingdom of man and delivering to his servants some kind of trade article, i.e. pounds or talents. And when He returns, He will ask each one, 'What have you gained?'
The first servant gained ten other pounds or talents and Jesus said 'Good and faithful, rule ten cities,' which points to what you know.
Another that gained 5, he was given 5 cities.
But, the one who hid the talent, everything was taken away from him.
Now, we have to ask the question, 'What does that mean?'
Well, the bible translators did a good job, I think.
No need to add to it any further than what is put on to it which we are told not to do.

This is very exciting!

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli troops turned heavy firepower on rocket squads bombarding southern Israel Saturday, killing 54 Palestinians in the deadliest day in Gaza since Hamas seized control in June.

Two Israel soldiers were killed and seven were wounded in the clashes, the military said.

The violence took a heavy toll on Gaza civilians. Moderate Palestinian leaders called the killings a "genocide" and threatened to call off peace talks.

"The response to these rockets can't be that harsh and heinous," said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. "It is nowadays described as a holocaust."

Syria Criticizes U.S. Warship Deployment Off Lebanon as 'Muscle Flexing'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote:
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said Saturday that a U.S. Navy deployment off the coast of Lebanon threatens security in the region and warned the United States it cannot impose its own solution to the long-running political crisis in Lebanon.

"There is a history of American fleet intervention in Lebanon. I think these experiences were not at all useful," al-Moallem said.

The planned deployment of at least three warships, announced Thursday, appeared to be aimed at making an American show of strength at a time of increasing international frustration at the volatile political deadlock in Lebanon between the U.S.-backed government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora and the Syria and Iran-backed opposition, led by Hezbollah.

State Department spokesman Tom Casey told reporters Friday that the warships are an important sign of U.S. commitment to security in the region. "It should provide comfort to our friends" and, for U.S. adversaries, "a reminder that we are there."

Al-Moallem said the American military move is counterproductive. "Such a show of force will not be useful and will not lead, as they claim, to security in the region. It is against the security of the region," he said.

I think Syria knows that the Lebanon front will be opening up soon.
I don't think it's the US Navy deployment that's threatening security in the region. It's more like Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas just to name a few chief suspects. "useful" to who? I say hooray for President Bush for sending the ships to help Israel. It's about time.

Well, it seems clear that the Israelis communicated to Bush that they were going to act in Gaza, hence the movement of the ship to the area. And the US wants to keep the Syrians and Iranians off balance with its presence.
Well, it seems clear that the Israelis communicated to Bush that they were going to act in Gaza, hence the movement of the ship to the area. And the US wants to keep the Syrians and Iranians off balance with its presence.

I was being sarcastic about the Syrian foreign minister's statement. Of course it's not useful to Syria...it is utterly useful to Israel.

Syria should be afraid...Damascus may be about to go and they will need to .

Please come Lord Jesus and take us home.

Peace Talks Are "Buried" By Gaza Assault

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) - Senior Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat said the recently revived Middle East peace talks had been "buried" in the rubble of an Israeli incursion into Gaza that killed 46 people Saturday.

"The negotiations are buried under the houses that were destroyed in Gaza," Erakat told AFP. "The peace process has been destroyed because of the aggressions and the crimes that have been committed."

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, whose forces were driven from Gaza in June, has been in negotiations with Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert since talks were formally revived at a US conference in November.

Abbas has repeatedly called on the Islamist Hamas movement that rules Gaza to halt rocket attacks

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080301/wl_mi...ctgazadiplomacy

QUOTE
So they say but is it possible that Abbas and Olmert are still trying to sever Israel?

Of course. What's given for public consumption by all sides and what's true are two entirely seperate realities.

It's been reported they already have the new signs up in Jerusalem so it makes you wonder what the Pallies are still griping about. Apparently they are getting everything they demanded---of course there's still that little right of return thing for millions of Palestinian descendants from 60 years ago.

Peace Talks Are "Buried" By Gaza Assault
On the other hand 80+ missiles lobbed into Israel wasn't exactly helping peace either.

Israel keeps being the pictured as the fall guy - yet Hamas has repeatedly said they will not stop until Israel no longer exists.

Many have followed this so-called "peace charade" since the early nineties and Oslo I, and one thing that always happens, despite the setbacks, is that the "peace train" is always put back on track. At the Israelis expense of course. So, despite the fatalistic burial of the peace charade by the Palis, and barring all-out war, this cancerous globalist peace process will come back in some form, like the "Phoenix."

Except its not a glorious mythical creature that arises from the ashes, but a mocking bird.

Mocking bird. Ha! funny! Ha Ha yeah, that was pretty good

The fighting was concentrated in and around the crowded Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, where Israeli special forces crept in just after midnight followed by a wider incursion involving tanks and helicopters.

Doctor Muawiya Hassanein, head of Gaza emergency medical services, told AFP that most of the victims were killed by a "great number of rockets fired by Israeli planes" in and around the camp and Jabaliya town.

The fighting is certainly intensifying. You'd think the Pallies would put an end to their daily attacks on Israel. This is utter suicide to continue

Finally!!! May God grant victory to the Israelites and bless them forever!!!

The fighting is certainly intensifying. You'd think the Pallies would put an end to their daily attacks on Israel. This is utter suicide to continue.

satan's false religion has so utter corrupted the minds of muslims that logic and reason simply do not play a part in decision making.
--I think the logic is to drag other muslim nations into the fray to do the fighting for the palestinians.

The intent is - and has been for a long time - to wipe Israel off the map. But God will not permit that.

The fighting is certainly intensifying. You'd think the Pallies would put an end to their daily attacks on Israel. This is utter suicide to continue.

Actually, suicide is not a problem for the Moslems. In fact, according to their distorted Islamic brainwashing, suicide guarantees them a ticket to paradise, bypassing the scales where their good works are supposedly weighed against the bad. And, with hundreds of thousands of fanatics willing to die for the Islamic cause and with Iran providing the instructions, direction, and weaponry, the Hamamas have nothing to lose (in their minds). Sharon and Olmert are to blame for this horrendous Gaza problem and it will not go away, irrespective of what Israel does in the way of retaliation.

-David Dolan has lived in Jerusalem for over 25 years, and reports weekly on Jimmy DeYoung's prophecy site, prophecytoday.com The nukes were at least subtlely suggested by one Iranian who referred to "radiation therapy" for Israel. The more action that Iran instigates on Israel through their proxies, the closer they likely are toward completing an "Islamic" bomb of the nasty variety. But, Israel is watching them, with their own WMD's loaded for delivery to the Mullahs.
