I thought this was rather interesting. When I heard that Blair was stepping down, I recalled hearing about this before...sure enough, I did a search through my flash memory pen, and I found the "word" on this from back in 2006. The "word" on that is posted below the Yahoo article.

Britain's Blair says he is resigning

TRIMDON, England - Prime Minister Tony Blair said Thursday that he will step down as prime minister on June 27, after a decade in office in which he brokered peace in Northern Ireland and followed the United States to war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Surveying his time in power, Blair, 54, told supporters: "Hand on heart, I did what I thought was right."

Following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the U.S., it was right, Blair said, to "stand shoulder to shoulder with our oldest ally, and I did so out of belief."

"And so Afghanistan, and then Iraq — the latter bitterly controversial.

"And removing Saddam and his sons from power, as with removing the Taliban, was over with relative ease. But the blowback since, with global terrorism and those elements that support it, has been fierce and unrelenting and costly.

"And for many it simply isn't and can't be worth it. For me, I think we must see it through."

In a short, almost apologetic speech, Blair added: "I may have been wrong. That's your call."

Treasury chief Gordon Brown, Blair's partner in reforming the Labour Party and a sometimes impatient rival in government, was expected to easily win election a the party's new leader and become the next prime minister.

Blair's announcement is one that his Labour Party, and the nation, have been expecting for nearly three years, ever since the prime minister said in 2004 that his third term would be his last.

"Today, the beginning of the end," read the front page of The Guardian newspaper.

Blair met earlier with Cabinet members, who left No. 10 Downing Street without answering questions shouted by reporters swarming outside.

Brown has already declared he will be a candidate; at least one opponent from the party's left wing was expected to announce his candidacy Thursday afternoon.

John Burton, Blair's political representative in the northern parliamentary district of Sedgefield, said earlier that Blair would continue to represent Sedgefield in Parliament until the next national election, expected in 2009, unless he is offered "a major international or United Nations job."

The Iraq war, a police investigation of allegations that the government traded honors for political contributions and endless questions about when Blair would step down overshadowed his last term in government, after winning the third term in May 2005.

Blair has stopped short of openly endorsing Brown, a stern Scot who has long coveted the top job, but said last week that Brown would make "a great prime minister."

"One of the things I very much hope will be part of the legacy of the government is the strongest economy in the Western world which he has been responsible for," Blair said.

Blair led Labour to two landslide election wins in 1997 and 2001, and a narrower but still comfortable victory in 2005.

The first term was marked by several significant initiatives: the Bank of England was given the freedom to set interest rates, Scotland and Wales were given regional governments, London gained an elected mayor and all but 92 hereditary members were ejected from the House of Lords.

In 1998, Blair and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern led successful negotiations for a peace agreement in Northern Ireland, launching a process which reached its culmination earlier this week as former enemies from the Protestant and Catholic communities joined to form a new regional government.

The Iraq war severely dented Blair's popularity. Blair's close alliance with President Bush was unpopular at home, there were mass marches in Britain opposing the U.S.-led invasion before it began, and the government's claims that Saddam Hussein was building an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction proved false.

For more than a year, Labour has consistently trailed in opinion polls behind a Conservative Party revived by its new leader, David Cameron.

In local and regional elections earlier this month, Labour lost hundreds of seats in city and county councils, and was beaten into second place in the Scottish Parliament elections by the Scottish National Party, which advocates independence.

In recent months, Blair's thoughts have turned to the lessons of his decade in power.

"When I first started in politics, I wanted to please everyone," Blair said during a tour of the Middle East in December. "After a time I learned that you can't please everyone, and you learn that the best thing is to do what you think is right and everyone can make their judgment."

Blair is the first British prime minister since Harold Wilson in 1976 to leave at a time of his own choosing, rather than by losing an election or being forced out by the party.

Blair's leaving had little of the drama of downfall of Margaret Thatcher, who announced her resignation in 1990 just nine days after she was the target of a savage resignation speech by her former Cabinet colleague, Geoffrey Howe.

The prophetic utterance: Mount St. Helens; North Korea; & the Chip
Cyndee Pillow - June 22, 2006

From here: http://www.americaslastdays.com/?page=mshnkthechip

I was in prayer today when the Lord began to show me things in the Spirit. He spoke very clearly to me on what is about to take place in America. I also asked Him some questions and He gave me answers. I have tested the truth in the words spoken and by permission from the Lord, release them now.

Please know that this word is not being given to cause alarm but as direction from the Lord to PRAY.

Our FATHER has all in His hands. He will protect.

SMOKING DRAGON OF MT. ST. HELENS

I saw a dragon rise in the Northwest of the United States. It was breathing out of its nostrils black billowing smoke as it exhaled fire out of its mouth.

I heard the Lord say, "A Great Dragon will arise in the Northwest, breathing much smoke and belting out fire. Pray for the canopy of the Lord to be over God’s people. Pray the winds and jet stream be in God’s people’s favor."

I was then wondering if this had something to do with North Korea and their nuclear weapons that are able to reach all the way to California. I feel I was told clearly that the dragon is not them.

I was surprised to find Mt. St. Helens has been called a dragon by many. Here is a paragraph from an article I found stating such:

Submitted by ketank06 on Sun, 05/15/2005 - 12:35pm.

For the residents of the Cowlitz Valley in Washington and most others who lived in the Pacific Northwest, the eruption of Mt St Helens was a life changing experience. It changed the way we think about the volcano as just a big mass of rock and stone to a living, fire and ash breathing dragon.

I found the following article advertising helicopter rides to the mouth of Mt. St. Helens crater:

Helicopter tours: Jaws of the Dragon !

We fly up to the entrance of the Mt. St. Helen's crater for great photo opportunities.

TONY BLAIR AND THE CHIP

The Lord quickly changed the subject as I saw the face of Tony Blair. I heard the Lord say, "Britain’s Prime Minister will retire from office. This is a key issue that will form new alliances. Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing. The chip is on the horizon. Take not this thing lightly. It is the great beginning of much sorrow. Take heart, for will I not bring grace to sustain you? Be at peace for I have told you before it happens."

Later, I had to go ask my husband if indeed Tony Blair is Britain’s Prime Minister. I was not so sure. I don’t follow politics very closely. I have other things to keep my mind on. I found an article that confirmed the Lord's words to me that was written, Friday, March 03, 2006 - on FreeMarketNews.com. Blair has announced he will be retiring at the end of his third term, but it cites Labour Party leader Dennis Healey as advising him to step down sooner, and allow his expected successor Gordon Brown to assume the position. "I think Tony’s showing he is losing his grip, and the sooner Gordon takes over the better," Healey reportedly said. The next election must be held on or before Jun. 3, 2010, and the prime minister may dissolve Parliament and call an early ballot at his discretion. - ST

NORTH KOREA

After this vision, I beheld the leader of North Korea standing on a platform. I do not understand this all together, but it will be shown for what it is, in its time. I saw that leader split right down the middle from head to toe. It was as if he was split in two parts, yet he still stood. I heard the Lord say concerning him, "Divided in opinion and decisions. Lack of unity will hinder North Korea." The Lord added, "For Israel’s sake I will do this." I realized JESUS alone is keeping them from doing what they want to do to our country. HE has other plans for us!! I suddenly saw a vision again. North Korean Soldiers came at me in rapid succession, yelling loudly, words in their language. I felt intimidated as we all have felt with the news of their weapons of mass destruction. I heard the Lord say, "Empty threats!"

I then saw North Korea’s soldiers with battering rams hitting them over and over against a tall wooden fenced wall. They kept battering but didn’t seem to be making any progress at all. I wondered what the fence was protecting, when I very quickly was taken high to where I could see the whole of the United States. All around the whole of the United States was a tall fence, like a wall.

As quickly as I was taken up, I was taken back down and was at the end of the wall so as to see both sides. I saw the soldiers on one side battering away and getting nowhere and on the other side, I saw what was keeping them from entering. Standing on the other side of the fence/wall was Jesus with His right hand on it holding them back.

Shifting back to the subject of the United States, He said, "I will not utterly destroy a nation that prays. I hear my people’s prayers. I see their faith to believe. Yet, in a little while many will die, but not as assumed by a literal enemy. I bring Myself down to deal with America. Your forefather’s cry out for vindication. I am in your midst. Stand back, My people, and see the salvation of your Lord."

I am stunned at the visions and words spoken to me, and admit I am a bit shaken. You could call it the fear of the Lord, I believe. I just know that it is important to get things in order in our personal lives and pray that the winds be in our favor. I have never felt such urgency to pray and seek God's face. Time is running out.

"Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: He knoweth what is in darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. Daniel 2: 20-23

"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." I Cor. 1:30-31

Keeping Our Eyes On Jesus

6-19-06

The woman had just lost her son from the heat. She walked swiftly passed her husband still working in the fields.

He asked, "Is all well?"

She replied, "All is well."

She had her focus on the anointed one that had promised! She would not speak any negative, nor break her stride, nor turn her face away from the path before her. It was time to remind the very one who had given word that she would have a son. He would have to come through for her now, as in the natural, it appeared her son had died. She was determined. She would not be denied!

This is from a story in the Bible which had a happy ending. She kept her focus, found the one that was anointed, and reminded him of the promised son she had been given from God. Her son was restored to life!

We should take this to heart as we see and hear negative things in the coming days. We must remember the promise given by THE ANOINTED ONE.

Keeping our eyes on Jesus is essential for victory, for in this hour, the enemy desires to depress. He wants to pervert by putting us under his feet, instead of him under our feet. He wants to disgrace, undo, confuse, and destroy us, but he can't do it unless we lay down and let him.

As God's people, we should remember the following things:

Bad news should not move us.

Dark prophecies should not shake us.

Sad events should not turn us from the only one that can keep us!

Jesus is our stability!

Jesus is our strength!

Jesus must be our focus no matter what.

On Him we will not be moved nor shaken!

Nothing in this world should bring us to the place where we give up or break down.

Our goal is not earthly but heavenly.

Our mission is not of this world but is out of this world.

Our hope is not in a king but THE King of Kings.

Our make-up and form is not made by man's hands but God's hands.

He carries us.

He delivers us.

He sustains us.

He retains us.

He bears us up.

He breaks the enemy's chains and takes all he meant for evil and turns it around for good.

"What should we fear what man can do to us. If God be for us who can be against us?"

May the Lord be glorified as the end nears. America is at the crossroads of judgment. Just watch the news...flood, fires, etc. What will happen next has been "prophetically" spoken by many.

May we, as a nation, repent of abortion, immorality, idolatry...It is a must.

In Christ,
